Misawa Daichi - Voice sometimes sounds like Kaiba's, but with an british accent
Yuki Judai - i could swear that in the first minute, he sounded like joey... perhaps same VA?
Sho - sometimes sounds like yugi, but a bit different
Asuka - sounds a lot like a highschool girl, i dont like the voice personally
Yugi sounded like Atemu(yami yugi) in ep 1.
But isnt this supposed to be after the memory arc? Oh well, a screw up on the dubbers part. |

I'm sprry to bring this up but even though I don't live in canada I still saw the episode and here are my thoughts.
Beginning the same little yugi now uses big yugi's voice. And that will be all we see of him.
Opening a combination between first opening and ending plus assorted episode footage. Song's better then the first yugioh's.
New lifepoint counters. They look pretty good.
Voices for main characters not that bad. Not all british like the names might make you think they are.
A small joke or two about how chronos looks like a woman.
Calling magic cards spell cards like in the real game. (never knew why they did this)
Manjoyme's two friends have slightly annoying voices but it doesn't matter.
Attack/defense points counter is different.
Burst lady has odd name and I think is covered up more. (featherman has a name change too but it's not that bad)
So far it should be that bad of a dub. |

I've seen the first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh GX and some snippets of the second and third episodes and I have to say that it isn't really that bad. Some of the voices I don't really like, while other voices I feel are well suited to the character that the voice actor/actress are playing. Some scenes had to be cut due to following certain guidelines and I can understand that. I guess we will have to continue watching to see how well 4Kids can handle things.
Oh and Unknown Neo, you're thinking of Burstinatrix, which is what Burst Lady was renamed as and she was heavily edited, yet I was expecting that to happen. Featherman is now known as Avian. These changes are on the actual cards themselves since they were available a couple of months through the Lost Millenium expansion before GX started over here. |

That name and the fact that people might confuse it with Magic cards is kind of stupid. Have you heard him say her name? It's so awkward and clunky. Avian I can deal with but that's just bad. |

I've heard Jaden say the name "Burstinatrix" a couple of times before, and I have to agree with you Unknown Neo. It does sound very clunky and awkward, but then again, it does match up with the lip synch. Before the Magician's Force set was released, they were known as Magic Cards, but it was changed to Spell Cards and it has been known as that ever since. In some ways, it was to avoid any sort of confusion with Magic the Gathering, but there was another reason behind it as well. |

I still say it's kind of a pointless reason. |

Many people still refer to them as Magic Cards rather than Spell Cards as I guess that they got used to that and simply refuse to use the other name. The dub of Yu-Gi-Oh refers to them as Magic Cards, long after the change was made two years ago and in the current season, this is still the case. At least 4Kids are now using the proper term "Spell Card" when it comes to Yu-Gi-Oh GX although it does sound rather odd at first as I got used to the characters saying "Magic Card" all the time. |
