I noticed that too, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought of that.o_o;
A good episode overall, I honestly wanted more fighting, but the emotion and explanation of why there was all the Cross Fusion left me strangely satisfied.o.o

It's all a matter of balance. Stream was so much into CF that people got tired of it. Even the appearance of the CF rangers didn't have a lasting impact (probably because they were at the last minute...)
As for this episode, I kinda liked the fact that Duo wasn't beaten by brute force, but I kinda hoped for more fighting. I would have liked it better if it was a violent struggle against Duo at first, but in the end physical force is useless.
Oh well: Beast is coming... and I hope the EXE5 souls are as well... Just hope that this one doesn't become a beast of fillers... _________________ 闇の黒井心の本当のカ

Just in response to Ryouko's summary...
-Photo of Netto and co. in their swimsuits on the beach - alas no Laika or Enzan.
-Said photo is in a frame on Princess Pride's desk, which she picks up and blushes at as she smiles.
-Laika smiling as he plays in the snow with his cute little dog.
Hmm... I figured Pride was holding up a photo of Laika and the dog that he sent to her, hence why she was blushing. Meh... just a trivial detail, but it makes a bit more sense this way. _________________

I linked the two together because the scene shown of Netto and his friends in the bathing suits - panned back to be revealed as a photo in a frame. I would think since they showed Pride looking at a photo in a frame in the very next shot, it would be related. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. It just occured to me...Tesla never got an honest to goodness plug-in sequence. .-. Just the plain plug-in, nothing fancy. Maybe if she comes back in Beast she'll get one. \o/ _________________

Disappointing. The animation was absolutely great, but they wasted time for a poorly put together ending. They spent a minute and a half just on re-used cross fusion sequences. Plus, there were a whole lot of pans throughout the episode.
But what was worse was the actual way they placed it together. Dr. Regal had been thrown in randomly these last few episodes, only to turn into a giant snake and then have a random unexpected death? He didn't accomplish anything important, except if he's the one that blew up the world. Did they just suddenly run out of ideas and threw this in?
One of the worst parts was the "fight" with Duo. Here is this big old jerk who decided to destroy mankind. And yet Netto and his friends don't actually do much to him. He fires off a couple of shots and completely obliterates them. Not satisfying enough. Then he chatters on and on about Cross Fusion, until Baryl decides to shut him up by cross fusing with him. What was up with the Crests of Duo? Those seemed useless at the end.
The best part was Forte vs. Slur, but that didn't last very long. However, the absolute most terrible part of the episode was the preview for Beast. Why? Cross Fusion is back. I had really hoped that Cross Fusion would be killed with Stream's season finale, and have them focus more on the original premise of the show--the internet and such. But these dimensional area battles are just worthless.
Soul Unison...Including the souls from EXE 6, and assuming they're all going to be new, then we've got 20 souls to introduce to the series. If they choose to do them, that is. Hopefully, they can make an actually interesting or creative way to show how Rockman gets all of these, but I doubt it.
Out of all three seasons thus far, Stream is the least entertaining by a long shot. Too much cross fusion, not enough action. [/endrant] |

To qoute the boys from Tomarrow's Nobodies #2 "What a S###Y ending"
No offence but the endign sucked,I wanted to see Duo auctally fight fight not just talk and use Anger Impact like once...and the fact that Slur and Fortes battle was too short.
Heres how they could have taken CF away
Duo"Let me take someone and Cross Fuse with them"
CF Memebers"Here Barrel take our Syncro Chips
Barrel: Alright Duo! Colonel CROSS FUSION"!
Then everybody goes away and Cf dies:D _________________ Xbox Live Gamertag username:

Ohhh, same here for my brother. D: He wanted to actually see the CF Members fight, not get pounded and have the Navis come out to try to change Duo's mind. LESS TALKING, MORE FIGHTING. YEAHHHH. O__o
But the skeleton Regal made my brother laugh. o___O It was sort of like The Mummy.
I'm confused about Roll and Meiru though. They CFed with Rush... so when Roll was drawn out of Meiru's body, where was Rush? _________________ I'll remember that day, and I won't let it go. |

The photo is from episode 44 - the characters present in that episode were there (which explains the missing Laika and Enzan) and they were wearing the exact same swimsuits. The photo doesn't really make sense being there unless it's held by Pride, who was in attendance at the beach training. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Well, I look foward to watching this. The thing I like though, is that the navis got their long overdue spotlight. Think about it, for the majority of Stream, all they've really done is delete some viruses and crossfuse.
I look foward to Beast. See ya then! _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

No offense, but thank god you aren't one of the anime writers. Cross Fusion is not going to die right away just because Stream Ended. They might very well lower the focus of the cross fusion, but taking it out just like that when they've made use of it for 2 series is thinking in extremely naive terms.
Stream's ending was never focused in a FIGHT. Seriously, if you expected a fight with Duo in one Episode, once again, you're hoping too much for action and little in questions of character. The focus of the ending was not in 'action' but in the bond between humans and navis, which is, after all the REAL value of human kind for Duo to wish to let them live. You seriously expected the 'I'M SO BIG I CLOG THE GBA'S SCREEEN!' guy to fight? a punch in the face and he could crack everyon's skulls. >_> _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

According to everyone, CF is remaining in Beast. I'm wondering, did they have any new designs? _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

But at this point, who really cares about character? We've seen way too much character in Stream. Probably more than 50% of the series was based on character interactions or development. They've already done this bond between humans and navis before. We get it, and they shouldn't try to clog it down our throats. They could have at least made the ending worthwhile with something impressive, but they didn't even do that. The series is illogical as it can get, really. Why is it so unbelievable that they could win against Duo in match? |

Allow me to disagree there. The ending was VERY WORTHWHILE for many of the fans. But like with everything, they cannot please everyone. I for one I'm glad they didn't do a 'fight', and many people I know 'melted' for the oportunity of navis and humans actually being able to touch.
Toto wrote: | Why is it so unbelievable that they could win against Duo in match? |
Is not that is unbelievable, is just that with ONE episode left, a battle against a character of Duo's condition cannot fit one episode without being an equaly rushed battle that would have still left people complaining for being 'short'. Look back to Life Virus in EXE's finale.
What I'm trying to say is simply that:
a) Cross Fusion cannot be expected to die right away.
b) I sincerely doubt the anime was aiming for anything but an 'emotional ending' rather than for an action ending. And that doesn't make it a 'bad', just one that doesn't fit all tastes.
c) People needs to stop saying the ending was 'disappointing' but use instead the 'it disappointed ME'. Because some of us happened to enjoy the ending. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

I for one was thrilled that they didn't rely on jam-packed action to solve the plot. By far Stream was one of the most plot-heavy Rockman series we've seen so far, and it was a welcome sight. My only gripe was the overusage of Cross Fusion - I miss the navi interactions. I think that's why I loved the ending to Stream so much, the bonding of the operators with their navis. That's what EXE was always about since the beginning. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. But why Pride, of all people, to represent the beach episode? She was barely present in that episode. Since Laika and Pride have a romance, it makes a bit more sense that she would look at a photo of Laika. She even had a photo of Netto in the original EXE... a detail that somehow backs up my theory without me being able to explain how. -_-
And to contribute to the "Stream's finale disappointed me" fire... (though I already did some...) One of the biggest things that bugged me is how nothing Stream built up to the finale with had any use. The series took 40-50 episodes just to introduce the Cross Fusion members, crest them, and then let them Cross Fuse... but none of that did a damn thing to help "defeat" Duo.
The CF Members didn't do squat... the finale could have been handelled with Barrel and Barrel alone. He didn't even need Colonel. All the members did were kill time transforming and then getting blasted by Duo's attack.
The Crests of Duo also still make no sense whatsoever... why were they being given to these people if they were gonna be used for nothing more than fodder for Regal's plan? They didn't help in the slightest to defeating Duo, did they? I think they activated the tunnel thing so they could "plug-in" to Duo's network, but that's it.
It just feels too empty... and to be honest, there was nothing emotional about it either. Netto cries over stupid things... Rockman gets deleted? He doesn't cry. [spoil:05deded305]Yuuichirou gets kidnapped? Nothing.[/spoil:05deded305] But heaven forbid Barrel fuse with the ultimate god of the universe. That'll get the poor boy to break down in no time. _________________
