Not a romance per se, probably just Laika being somewhat...protective, which would make sense as Pride *is* a princess. I mean, I can hope, but yeah. <_<;; It does seem more likely for the swimsuit show for to be in the picture than Laika, though.

I have to admit I did want a tiny bit more action with the Cross dusion theem attacking Duo and they could have done that by taking out that boring Henshin scene but at least shwoing Barrels but well that didnt happen and oh well. The fact of the matter is the cant destory or defeat Duo because he is still ulimatly powerful enough to destory the planet if he feels like it. Duo contains such a high level of power that you can tell that from episode 2 of stream. How could they stand up to that hmm the answer is they cant stop Duo. They cant beat him by fighting but they can beat him by words. The whole emotinal scene was nessesary because thats the only way Duo would learn anything and it showed the bonds between a human and navi. I dont know about you but a crappy way for Duo to die would not be a good ending.

Stream has been about its compicity as Ryouko has stated and I enjoyed alot of it even though alot of it was filiers but well thats done ands done. I my self dont hate CrossFusion because lets face it. Cross Fusion will not DIE. Do you think that everybody would just throw there Syncrochips away and stop studing Cross fusion all of a sudden. Cross Fusion is a big step in a Navi and Human relationship. Duo cant magicly take away the power to Cross fuse from them. So what if he takes there synchro chips they can make more as Wily has shown us. Cross Fusion will never ever die but it can be used less after all they need a dimension area for a navi attacking or somthing. Net battles are cool to and I like them to and id love to see more net battles. Hell id love to see a fricking N1 Grand Prix again or Rockman and Blues duke it again or somthing instead of crimes in every episode. Stream was awsome and it was better than Axess IMO. It had so much plot in it and some awsome eps and I am satisfied with the ending. See you later Stream....HELLO ROCKMAN.EXE BEAST!

Just in response to Ryouko's summary...

-Photo of Netto and co. in their swimsuits on the beach - alas no Laika or Enzan.

-Said photo is in a frame on Princess Pride's desk, which she picks up and blushes at as she smiles.

-Laika smiling as he plays in the snow with his cute little dog.

Hmm... I figured Pride was holding up a photo of Laika and the dog that he sent to her, hence why she was blushing. Meh... just a trivial detail, but it makes a bit more sense this way.

The photo is from episode 44 - the characters present in that episode were there (which explains the missing Laika and Enzan) and they were wearing the exact same swimsuits. The photo doesn't really make sense being there unless it's held by Pride, who was in attendance at the beach training.

But why Pride, of all people, to represent the beach episode? She was barely present in that episode. Since Laika and Pride have a romance, it makes a bit more sense that she would look at a photo of Laika. She even had a photo of Netto in the original EXE... a detail that somehow backs up my theory without me being able to explain how. -_-

For one thing, that might have been chosen as her memory because it was a deviance from dreary palace life (a plot point repeated over and over), and also because she does not have many "shining" moments in the series. Why not Pride to represent the episode?

"Barely in it"? o.O When you're dealing with over a dozen characters who have to share screentime, I suppose that could be right.

Respectfully, I think you're seeing what you want to see. You like the Laika x Pride coupling, I assume, and thus would prefer to interpret the scene as such. But the actual scene did not make sense if the photo was of Laika...

The animation went like so:

-The camera pans back from a photo of episode 44 in a frame

-Princess Pride smiles at a photo in a frame

-Laika greets his dog - no frame.

That obviously is just the most basic point. It's also notable that if Pride does in fact have a photo of Laika, the beach image does not belong to any character's memory. Charlie and Tesla are the characters preceding Pride, and their clip is of suitable length and seemingly unconnected to the photo.

Also, including the photo, Pride has 5 seconds of screentime in the ending. Laika has 6 seconds. If they were meant to share their scene with each other, like Charlie and Tesla, and Annetta, Yaito and Enzan, they would have about 5 seconds combined, not 11.

Finally - Laika is returning to Sharo. Does it not make sense for him to be greeting the dog? It does seem very much like the scene was intended to look like the dog was welcoming him home, does it not? If it was a photo, who took it? How did she get it? Why, if she wants to remember good times with him, is she not in it? They are not even sharing a scene if he is the photo - his scene in gone and Pride's is merely longer - as Laika's part in the ending, rather than the epilogue style followed by the others (Charlie and Tesla on vacation, Anetta and Yaito destroying Enzan, Pride returning to Creamland, etc) would be reduced to, instead of a homecoming, an image in a frame.

To be honest, the Pride/Laika pairing is nothing special to me, since I still think Laika is a butt ugly, uninteresting character. And for the record, I'm not sure how long the frames appeared on screen really has anything to do with what you're saying... Nenji's one glorifying moment in the ending was a flash of him waving (unless the entire fireworks thing is supposed to count, but that's lame). And look at Mariko/Yuriko... they just barely got 3 seconds. And if you REALLY want to get technical... the beach photo has a black, wooden frame. Pride's photo has a much brighter orange, seemingly plastic frame. Yeah, I didn't expect the foreground artist to draw every graining in the wooden frame, but they didn't even match the color in the slightest.

All in all, though... we're both seeing what we want because we both think we're right, regardless of what hard-hitting evidence either one of us have. I'm just saying, considering Laika and Pride's relationship got a lot more development in Stream than Pride's princess quality (which isn't touched on very strongly, if at all, in Stream... at least, not nearly as much as it was in EXE)... well, the parallelism between Pride's royality and the beach get-away is far too vague to casually pick up on. Besides, yes, that beach episode had a thousand characters running around... but there was more focus on certain characters than others (namely Netto, Meiru, and Jasmine), and Pride majorly got left in the dust. All she did was make an exciting appearance and that's it. She didn't even get any good jokes.

And furthermore, it'd make sense that the beach episode not belong to anyone's specific memory since, like you said, there's so many characters involved. If anything, that photo probably belongs to Yuuichirou.

And yet they went to the trouble of putting a frame around that image, but not around Laika.

You're right, we do seem to be ignoring each other's evidence. :P There are tons of loopholes everywhere (such as: if the photo belonged to another character, why didn't it appear before/after their clip? and if the animation of the frame colour isn't just a mistake, then perhaps the orange coating appears only on the front where it would be visible?), and while you refuted some of my points, you didn't comment on what I said about it detracting from the scene as a whole. Everyone else is homecoming or relaxing, but photo-Laika is stuck in the past. No matter how many different ways it can be interpreted, there's a far greater chance that the way it appears to me is the way in which the writers wished it to appear to everyone.

I think I'm missing something, but how does this have anything to do with your point? I don't see how frames are connected to the amount of time different characters got.

Anyhow... far as I'm concerned, the two had frames. The other one doesn't have frames. Seems like it's really desperately stretching things to get Laika in to the picture, when you already have plenty for the coupling in the first place...

I think the point is you were somewhat correcting Ryouko's description of the situation as you thought it was correct. And technically, by those grounds, Ryouko is as right as you or Izumi.

The whole point of this debate is there's really no need to point out if one thing is more correct than the other. In all grounds, just the person that scripted the scene knows for sure.

In any case, the only gripe I have is the fact you mentioned it as if you're correcting Ryouko. Reason why Izumi is trying to back up on what grounds Ryouko considered the frame of the beach picture belonged to Pride. You can still think that's not what 'makes sense', but is just your view, and unless you're the scripter, neither is fact.

Hookay.

Well, I liked the ending. I really like that long pan shot of everyone drawing their weapons out. It looked really cool, for lack of better word. :D And I loved it when the Navis came out and became sort of a human form (though I'm still iffy with where Rush is when Meiru and Roll cross fused with him. Maybe he's still a synchro chip stuck in the PET).

Oh, and Slur looked kind of creepy before she gets deleted. I mean, the expression on her face was enough for me to feel sorry for her, and when Forte digs his arm deeper, it was freakier. Yeah.

I was able to see this episode--but not the whole thing...Some wierd problem, it stops when Barrel is talking about fusing with Duo, no sound comes out of his mouth, and the episode starts ALL over again. You can't skip forward, you can't skip backward, no matter what I try. I wish I could have seen the rest, I really do.

But, it was a very nice episode. Slur looked really creepy when Bass Deleted her. Her voice was all hoarse...

The navis were able to touch their NetOps, that was cool.

Now, I'm going to wait for the next season.

Correcting Ryouko? No. Refuting? Yeah, I was. It was never my intention to say "Ryouko, you're wrong," and for apparently giving that implication, I'm sorry... But, no, I was indicating that "Ryouko, you might be wrong." I can't really apologize for that.

And Viewtiful Starman, I meant still-frames, not picture frames.

I ALSO did like the fact that the ending turned out like it did, since the basis of the bonds of NAVIs and humans wasn't presented in a dare I say "4Kids style fashion", or maybe that's just because it was in japanese and I followed the summary. I WOULD have liked some sort of fight between them and Duo, but I guess that the fact that he used one hint of the "STFU!!" anger face attack and wiped them all out sort of backs up Planty's theory of them having NO chance against him even if their was a fight scene for that part.

Kirbopher15, your comment about the Duo attack made me crack up. XD

Well, the fight scene was weak as in the protagonists had less power than Duo... I mean, he wiped them out with just one attack, and it seemed like a breeze for him.

What makes me kind of sad is that we might not be able to see some of the characters again, especially Barrel and Colonel.

If that's how you feel, then you must have already made a funeral for Masa and the net agents.

I hope at least important characters stay, like Enzan and Higure.
The lesser BN 5 team guys are a loss *coughexceptjasminecough*
But hopefully at least we can assume the trio sticks around.

No offense, but thank god you aren't one of the anime writers. Cross Fusion is not going to die right away just because Stream Ended. They might very well lower the focus of the cross fusion, but taking it out just like that when they've made use of it for 2 series is thinking in extremely naive terms.

Stream's ending was never focused in a FIGHT. Seriously, if you expected a fight with Duo in one Episode, once again, you're hoping too much for action and little in questions of character. The focus of the ending was not in 'action' but in the bond between humans and navis, which is, after all the REAL value of human kind for Duo to wish to let them live. You seriously expected the 'I'M SO BIG I CLOG THE GBA'S SCREEEN!' guy to fight? a punch in the face and he could crack everyon's skulls. >_>

None taken that was just an quick idea of how they could have done that lol

um...he drove the car in the first episode...and he's the chip otaku...lol. I really wish numberman was a main character, it's time he got a lot of action.

YES, I know he's not a fighter but hey, numberman is cool IMO.

Whoo today I finnaly finished downloading this eppy this morning, I also took it to school to watch it as soon as possible, I gotta say Forte VS. Slur was kinda harsh, I even felt pity. BUT I REALLY HAVE TO SAY THAT REGAL'S LAST ATTACK WAS LAME I mean a [spoil:b14cd62bc5]snake like thing?![/spoil:b14cd62bc5] that was just too creepy and his [spoil:b14cd62bc5]dead body[/spoil:b14cd62bc5]. And when the Earth was destroyed I was totally silent.

Regal as a snake was kind of surprising for me, but when he shot red laser beams from my eyes, that's when I started laughing. I found that scene funny for some reason.
