i am trying to go to one of the yugioh tcg events at toysrus the saturday and i ahve heard that change of heart and monster reborn were banned from play and i was wondering if anyone knew if this applys to the toyrus rules any help will be appreciated :]

Any tournament that is official will always follow ban list rules... I'm waiting for October 1sst so I can truly use my deck to it's maximum power... Dark Hole ^_^ Water deck forever!!

It depends on which format the tournament organizers are going to be using. If it is Traditional, then you can use any card you want, as long as you follow the restricted, and semi-restricted list when it comes to the powerful cards. If they will be playing Advanced, it will follow the new Forbidden List which will be in affect starting October 1. Our Forbidden List is the same one that Japan received, except that we got two extra banned cards and three extra limited cards.

when I went their when I used to play YuGiOh, no cards were banned. Which is why Obelisk and Slifer owned everyone :D

God cards are unusable in ANY format unless you are playing in 'omg I'm such a l33t n00b str33t3r guy' format. Sad

Yeah, the tournament I went to was Street Battle...But other kids were using fake Obelisks, Zeras, Blue Eyes Ultimates, etc. So I think God Cards were fully justified, as long as they were real.

i just love the wAY the youngones like to put god cards in their decks. one time i dueled A kid with obelisk. i beAt the living tAr out of him. just becaUse obelisk is strong doesn't mAKe him impossible to kill. watch out. the demon cards will come out soon. ANd will be actuALly be printed.

Yeah, I've noticed people just whip out god cards and think they've won for sure. Unless you have strategy, the only thing they really are is normal monsters. I always carry some other really powerful backup cards, like Gate Guardian, Blue Eyes Shining Dragon, and Dark Master in case my Obelisk or slifer gets whuped. And of course, there's always the five Pieces of the Forbidden One.

I feel so alone in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh...

I'm the only person I know that has a water deck, even at tournaments...

I'm starting to beat all of my friends at least once... I'm only losing to a friend of mine because he uses a Deck Eater...

I even beat this REALLY GOOD magician deck that my friend (who made the water deck for me after I gave him a crapload of Zatch Bell cards) made... it was amazing too... I completely overpowered...

With the Forbidden List coming into effect on October 1st, this tournament at Toys R' Us assuming that it will be playing Advanced will have a lot of people re-tuning their decks to accomidate it. I would ask them ahead of time as to what format they will play under. If they say Advanced, then you should check Upperdeck's website to see the Forbidden List. If it is Traditional instead, then you can play as is, though the God Cards will have to stay behind.

For one, in the future you can go into the Yugioh Deck-rater thread whenever you need help and for future topics regareding the card game n_n; It should be somweher around here. Just post your deck there and people will give you tips as long as you tell them what you are aiming for. And... are the Toys R us tournaments on Saturdays?

Yes, they're on Saturdays. I'm not sure what time, and I'd think it'd be 7:00 AM, but don't take my word for it and check a website or something.
