Okay you have some pretty neat cards, Digirob... but... your deck
okay in order to build a deck you must focus on the first thing...
What is your personality like...
Yes.. I know it's a little deep for a card game... but certain decks don't work for everybody (IE: I run a Dark Magician Deck because it is to my tastes. And I'm attempting to 'evolve' it into a Spell Caster beatdown.) So you should start with a loose basis. Choose cards that you like and that can work together.
Example: I draw my hand on the first turn. It is Peten the Dark Clown, Dark Magician, Cost Down, Yami, and NobelMan of Crossout and I drew Diffusion Wave Motion. (it's happened before) I use Cost Down and discard Peten the Dark Clown. as soon as Peten is sent to the graveyard, I can remove it from play to special summon another Peten the dark clown. I tribute the newly special summoned Peten and summon Dark Magician, I then remove THAT Peten and special summon ANOTHER Peten. So I now have a Dark Magician and Peten in Play, and then I play Yami. The opponent sets two card face down and sets on monster in defense. I then Draw Dark Magic Attack. I play Dark Magic attack, play nobelman of crossout...then when the opponent is fresy... 3400 attack in the face! :3
To go even further depends on if you want a swift victory or to annoy your opponents. A good deck runs about... 7 traps only. But lets say a deck that doen't have a good monster basis uses mostly traps and effects. I just KNOW you will run into a gravity bind deck and I pray that you won't have to face one til later.
But after all this, you may lose your first duel... if you do.. you will gain a knowledge, that I assure you, will help you create a tournament worthy deck. Hope that helps. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000142872316

My deck now complies with the new ban list... it's 12 am...
My water deck... that I tweaked a bit after I got it from a friend I gave Zatch Bell cards to...
Normal Monsters (4)
Gagagigo (3)
Giga Gagagigo (1)
Effect monsters (22)
Fenrir (1)
Mermaid Knight (1)
Levia-Dragon - Daedalus (1)
Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus (1)
The Legendary Fisherman (1)
Star Boy (2)
Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 (2)
Yomi Ship (2)
Mobius the Frost Monarch (2)
Nightmare Penguin (3)
Aqua Spirit (2)
Mother Grizzly (3)
Magic Cards (12)
Mystical Space Typhoon (1)
Premature Burial (1)
Giant Trunade (1)
Heavy Storm (1)
Salvage (1)
Dark Hole (1)
Terraforming (1)
Snatch Steal (1)
Reload (1)
A Legendary Ocean (3)
Trap Cards (6)
Tornado Wall (1)
Raigeki Break (1)
Dust Tornado (2)
Gravity Bind (2)
44 cards...
I can finally beat people without using Legendary Ocean!!
My goal is to get rid of magics and traps then use ALO... After that get Aqua Spirits out and Gravity Bind... Opponent is now screwed... This deck OWNS Spirit Reaper with Aqua Spirit... Fenrir only adds to the effect... Star Boy and Mother Grizzly is the reason why I don't really need ALO anymore... _________________

Neogamer.... that is officially awesome now... seriously... I love it! :O
My Deck is still work in progress... I would like some ideas as to what I can do to make it efficent enough. All I can really do is stall for time. So I need to turn this into a Spellcaster Beatdown (with an edge). If you got some ideas to add to mine, go ahead.(apparently, I lost my Dark Magic Attack -_-; )
Normal Monsters: (5)
Gemini Elf (I can add a couple more and get rid of cards I don't need)
Mystical Elf (It'll either be a Skilled Dark Magician or Gemini Elf)
La jinn the Mystical Genie (Same here)
Dark Magician (x2)
Effect Monsters: (16)
Magician of Faith
Wall of Illusion (I may use another)
Kuriboh (I plan to replace this with a Mystic Swordsman (insert LV here))
Mystic Swordsman LV2
Peten the Dark Clown (x3)
Dark Elf (Plan to replace with SDMagician or Gemini Elf)
Double Coston (plan to replace with SDM)
Obnoxious Celtic Gaurd (I think I may use Silent Magician LV 4 here)
Amazoness Swordswoman (Another Mystic swordsman lv...something)
Injection Fairy Lily
Zombrya the Dark (Silent Magician LV
Archfiend of Gilfer
Chaos Command Magician
Dark Magician Girl
Spell: 12
Confiscation
Yami (it helps >>
Nobelman of Crossout
Diffusion Wave Motion (might put in Reload...but I dunno if I'll replace it with this)
Double Spell
Card Destruction
Hammer Shot (may put in something else)
Ookazi (Dark Magic Attack >_<)
Cost Down
Swords of Revealing Light (Prolly..sages stone?... maybe :/ or Magician's Circle)
Premature Burial
Dark Hole
Traps: 7
Lightforce Sword
Ring of Destruction
Trap Hole
Magic Cylinder
Negate Attack
Spellbinding Circle
Sakuretsu Armor
Total: 40 cards
So... any ideas, guys? n_n; _________________ http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000142872316

That is an okay deck you have there Digirob101, but I would suggest to you that you run a theme as you have many cards that seem to be out of place. I've noticed that you have several spellcasters, warriors, dragons, among others, so what I would do is to choose a theme first and build a deck around that.
Some examples would be Spellcaster(these mostly revolve around the Dark Magician seeing that most spellcaster support focuses on him), Warrior(this has a lot of deck types on its own), Dragon(there are five groups under this one), and more obscure ones such as Exodia, Last Turn, and Mill.
Once you have a theme in place, focus on including cards that go well with the theme and that they have good synergy with each other. For instance, with monsters, if you choose a Spellcaster deck and are focusing on the Dark Magician, you would need two or three of him, plus two or three Skilled Dark Magician, a Magician of Faith, one Dark Magician of Chaos, and maybe a couple of Apprentice Magicians. For Spell Cards, you would need to choose cards such as Dark Hole, Enemy Controller, Creature Swap, Premature Burial, Snatch Steal, and Mystical Space Typhoon for the "staple" cards. Others like Dark Magic Attack, and Dedication through Light and Darkness can also be of help in this kind of deck.
Finally, with traps, Call of the Haunted comes to mind, but since people run few traps, I'd go with traps that can give you an advantage. What I have provided for you is an example of how to make a deck that focuses on a theme, but you can go about it in any way that you wish. Oh, and I would have your deck around 40-44 cards in all as that is seen as the standard.
Neogamer1234, that is a very good Water deck that you have there, although you might want to add maybe another Terraforming as that can get A legendary Ocean to your hand quicker in case you go up against a deck that your deck might have trouble against. You might want to consider adding an Abyss Soilder or two, but that is up to you. |

Nah... ALO becomes a hindrance too much at times...
It's like I has to watch my step before playing it and it screws up my mentality... Too many Magic Jammer/Magic Drain running around...
Mother Grizzly/Star Boy seems to be more effective in powering up faster...
I also don't have Abyss Soldier... Nightmare Penguin does the trick, and since Sinister Serpent is banned, Abyss Soldier has no use...
Levia isn't the main pont of my deck now... Star Boy, Nightmare Penguin, and Aqua Spirit are the stars of this deck...
Oh yeah... I wrote something wrong... I have 3 Aqua Spirits in my deck...
If the opponent has a monster I don't like on the field and I have two Aqua Spirits, I'll change it twice to defense Again... Stealth Birds don't work against me anymore XD XD XD It's a Spirit Reaper killer as I said before...
This deck is amazing... the guy that made the first version of my deck battled me... and I actually won at least once against him... He plays a VERY good Spellcaster deck... annoys the crap outta me...

Now I understand the reasons behind your choices with your Water Deck, and it is a good thing that you fixed that error from before. ALO can be a problem due to the Spell/Trap removal that people are using. Do you run a sidedeck by chance? Your deck is still very good, yet it may encounter trouble against other decktypes, so you might want to have a sidedeck on hand. Of course, this is optional and you don't have to have one, but it is a thought mind you.
With the forbidden list, we ended up with the same list that Japan had, except that Pot of Greed, and Tribe Infecting Virus were added to the forbidden card list, while Nobleman of Crossout, Magician of Faith, and Book of Taiyou were restricted to one per deck. |

Pot of Greed (Spell)
Jar of Greed (Trap)
I'll try and find more to help you with. _________________ I am Solar Boy Django! TAIYOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!

For libraries like Exodia, there is only ONE objective--to find all the requisite pieces before you get sacked. Thus, a few basic tenets must be followed--
1) Keep the library to 40 cards. The smaller the library is, the fewer cards one will have to pithe through to get the win condition.
2) Add as MANY cards that allow you to draw other cards or fetch other cards. Cards like Pot, Graceful, and other cards that allow you to draw more is invaluable, as this game seems to rely very heavily on card advantage. Make liberal use of "tutors"--cards that allow you to search your library for other cards.
3) Add defensive staples, like Swords, or Gravity Bind. These will keep the high-power creatures from attacking, allowing you more time to get what you need. You also may need to put counters into the library, to prevent others from messing with your hand or spells to ensure that they go off without interruption.
Of course, bear in mind the Banned/Restricted list, and the rest is up to you. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! I'll pretend you guys are not talking about the Traditional format...
I loathe Traditional because it's dependent on how much money you have... and everything is cookie cutter!

Here's my LP Hitter deck:
Effect Monsters: 14
Wall of Illusions (2)
Magician of Faith
Penguin Soldier (2)
Des Koala (2)
Inaba White Rabbit
Breaker The Magical Warrior
Spirit Reaper
Princess of Tsurugi
Guardian Sphinx
Lava Golem (2)
Spell Cards: 13
The Dark Door (2)
Heart of Clear Water
Card Destruction
Ante
Different Dimension Capsule (2)
Swords of Revealing Light
Scape Goat
Chain Energy
Wave-Motion Cannon (3)
Trap Cards: 16
Thunder of Ruler (2)
Gravity Bind (2)
Judgment of Anubis
Trap Hole (2)
Physical Double
Minor Goblin Official
Ominous Fortune Telling
Mask of Restrict (2)
Bad Reaction To Simochi (2)
Eye of Truth (2)
I obviously have more than 1 way of reducing my opponents LP to 0.
-Lava Golem + Mask of Restrict or Gravity Bind
-BRTS + Eye of Truth
-Chain Energy
-Judgment of Anubis
-Ante, though it's a bit risky.
-Princess of Tsurugi, Des Koala, and Inaba
-Ominous Fortunetelling
-Minor Goblin Official to slowly finish them off.
-And of course, my Wave-Motion Cannons.
It's all about holding my ground until I pull off a combo to start lowering their LP. My main objective is to get at least 2 Wave-Motions onto the field so all I have to do is endure at least 4 turns. _________________

A better idea to do is try integrating a Dark Snake Syndrome with a Des Wombat...
It's Ebil... Add in some Pyro Clocks of Destiny (rentsy, but increases turns so your opp loses by burn) and your opp will be trying like crazy to destroy Dark Snake Syndrome...
Dark Room of Nightmare is also Evil... Since you have cards to Burn during turns, it's an extra 500 a turn added to it...
Wow... You NEED Ceasefire in a deck with many effect monsters... It's extra Burn...
I don't see any Mystical Space Typhoons or Fake Traps or Dust Tornados, You need protection for your cards...[/quote] _________________

The Advanced Format also runs along similar lines, but to a lesser extent of Traditional due to the Forbidden List that is in place. No matter which format you play, you'll have to encounter a Cookie Cutter deck in some kind of form, and having a lot of money tends to produce many winning decks, although that theory can now be questioned as some unusual decks have been popping up and winning tournaments recently. I prefer Advanced myself as it requires more thinking to be had and that there is a better sense of enjoyment knowing that everyone is on the same playing level as you are. |

Yep... Even my low-cost Aqua deck (as seen above) can beat the best in my school, albeit rarely...
Hyuu... I can't beat this one kid anymore...
Before he made a Side-deck, I could beat him semi-easily...
All he does is clear your magic and traps, use Cyber-Stein, get out Cyber End Dragon, use Megamorph/Limiter Removal and PWN you... He also has Cannon Soldiers out, and uses Toon Table of Contents to thin his deck and get a Toon Cannon Soldier out... So if you're not dead from Cyber End... Launches everything at you and you = dead'D _________________
