Beast ep 1: "Beyondard" Review and Opening/Ending

I have been waiting for this to downlaod for two days, it's just aggrivating when everyone already knows what's going on and I check the download every few minutes. But I downloaded the opening and ending and now I'm even more apprehensive.

Don't worry, all the new stuff along with the Greiga and Faltzer theme should be good. The beast tranformation theme is the best though.

Edit: now that I think about it, Greiga doesn't look too much like Gospel. Greiga's like half the size and only the mane thing looks like Gospel.

While on the subject of Greiga and Gospel's resemblances... Am I the only one who thought that Greiga Beast Out attacking Greiga looked a lot like when Bug Style attacked Gospel? I mean, he turned into a little beam of light, rams into the big canine, knocking them over, and beats on them like that... It's sort of amusing when you look at the resemblance.

Bug style was much cooler than Greiga Rockman. But if you look at it, what else can they do? It's a huge monster that's just begging to be hit.

Aw man, I was thinking about this episode all day at work today Razz

I watched it again once I got home, certainly a great way to start the series, I just hope the following episodes live up to it. It was pretty weird having both Beast Outs within only 2 minutes of footage, hopefully we'll see them some more, and see more attacks from them.

I think the next episode is gonna be Rockman-less though, seeing how the preview shows him being examined and possibly unconscious.

While the series premire was pretty good, I'm a little concerned that some of the supporting cast like Maylu might be put back on the bench while Lan, Chaud and Laika do all the work.

All in all, an ok start to a new series.

Aren't the supporting cast *supposed* to be benched by now? <_< Stream threw the Netto/Enzan/Laika trio in our faces, then dropped them completely, so I'm hoping Beast makes them show up more anyway.

Well, I can't be bothered to download now, but from what you guys are saying, the new season sounds pretty cool. (I did get the opening. The new PET's are cool, and the mini-navis are a cute touch. And, beast navis sound cool. I'm personally waiting for Roll to go beast, if it happens this season (and I'm about 70% sure it will.)

are any of the cross fusion members from stream gonna be back besides laika, enzan and netto?

well it shows that dingo and tomahawkman will definetly be back as they were in the intro theme.....same with colonel( well you get to see his shadow at least right after you see the butterfly girl)...I doubt barrel will be back cause he dieda nd its not like they bring another barrel from the past to the present, lol

Considering the CF's are the same as last season. Its quite likely the members of Stream will return, at some point. Though it will probably be a one off thing like Raoul's occasional appearances. I don't think they will factor highly into Beast's storyline. Though the opening looks like it tries to make us wonder if the Stream CF members can still fuse.

A few thoughts,

Firstly, about Aka-Chan. I can quite easily see Rock dropping the chan and naming Him/Her? Aka. Really, it's not THAT uncommon.

Secondly, although Beast Out did frankly own Greiga and Faltzer, I think as the series progresses they will become stronger in our world, or something like that, making it harder for Rock to beat them, Beast Out or not.

Thirdly, Colonel has always been a bit of a loner in the Anime, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him act on his own in Beast.

And I guess that's it. I can draw far more conjectures from merely the intro, but that would be silly as it will become rather redundant as a source for plot info as the series progresses.

*smiles* Cute baby navi. ^_^ Reminds me of a navi a friend of mine created. The hat is sorta strange though. Looks kinda clownish. :/ I don't get how he integrates with Rockman, but I'm guessing that'll be explained...at the end of the series.

I do like how they change the PETs around. I just wish they were backwards compatible with the older chips. Those slim model pets are nice. I'm sure they'll be available soon in Japanese toy stores. :]

Speaking of PETs, has anyone seen the commercial for those Pixel Chick things? Sure, they are girlish toys, but the concept is interesting. Imagine playing Rockman.EXE that way and being able to connect different "Net areas" or "Navi Homepages" together and run around fighting viruses. ^_^

Ah boy, I remember when I thought EXE 6 would still use Progress PETs, but I suppose not now. New PET, new style chips, new Battle Chip Gate(s)... it's almost overwhelming considering I still only have my American Advanced PET (1), my Blues version normal Battle Chip Gate and my 50+ collection of normal chips. I sure hope the Link PET and new Gate is compatible with normal chips like the Progress PET and Gate was, because some day I plan on owning all the PETs, just... not ALL the styles of chips, that's ridiculous, normal chips are expensive enough O_O

Finally saw it, very impressive. The animation for this one was much above par, and even though I sually hate all 3D Creatures or people, Greiga and Faltzer were pretty spiffeh, not to mention the Beast-Outs. Even Aka-chan is a lot cuter than I thought he'd be. Can't wait for the next one.

As mentioned, Greiga looks quite a bit like Gospel, but did anyone notice a vague similarity between Faltzer and the Dream Virus? The chest looks nearly identical, the heads are shaped similarly, and Faltzer has a horn similar to the Dream Virus R.

Granted, the similarities between them are far more subtle than Greiga and Gospel, but I can't be the only one that noticed it, can I?

Forte will hopefully have a bigger role than he did in Stream. I'm personally hoping for a battle with Forte and possibly Gospel against Greiga and Falzer.
