Sorrow-Implied ShademanxBurnerman, Angst? One-Shot

Burnerman didn't know how long he was kneeling in front of Shademan. All he knew was that he was caught by his lover abusing Darkchips, and the vampire navi immediately turned around and walked out without so much a word. Now here he was, kneeling, with a sullen expression on his face. He screwed up big time.

Shademan, on the other hand, was just watching him coolly from his position on his throne. It had been quite a shock when he discovered that Burnerman had been getting his highs from contant uses of Darkchips, and the pain he felt was great. However, he hid his pain beneath an indifferent exterior, slightly scowling at the kneeling navi in front of him.

Finally, he chose that time to break the silence. "So..." he drawled, his eyes narrowing at the flame navi, "Despite my warnings to you, you continued to use Darkchips for that rush of power." Burnerman looked up, his features wrenched in sorrow.

"Yes..." he whispered, ashamed. Shademan snorted; before he knew it, his lover rushed forward and took him by the throat, choking him. He struggled to get free of Shademan's grip, but it was to no avail.

"You chose to ignore me." Shademan snarled, "You, above all people, know that I don't play around when I warn you of stuff like this. Why did you do it, Burnerman?" he questioned, gripping the flame navi's throat even tighter.

"I...I..." he stuttered, struggling to breathe; "I wanted...that rush of power...It felt great...I...wanted to be as strong as you...so you would look upon me as an equal." Burnerman choked out, his breathing becoming labored.

If Shademan was flattered, he didn't show it. Instead, he flung the flame navi to the ground. "Pathetic." he spat, absolutely furious. "I thought that you knew that such things as Darkchips are only temporary means of strength."

Burnerman struggled to his knees, still weakened from being nearly strangled by his lover. "I knew..." he said quietly.

"No, you didn't!" Shademan raged, his cool exterior finally cracking. "Did you honestly think such means of strength would impress me?! It is nothing but false power given by a lowly human!" Burnerman resumed staring at the ground at that. However, Shademan wasn't done.

"What's more, you've broken the trust I had in you!" At that, Burnerman's head shot up, his eyes wide in horror.

"You...you don't mean that, do you?" he asked with a shaky voice. Shademan leveled a glare at him.

"Of course I do. I trusted you to not do something as stupid as this." The flame navi's head dropped, obscuring the tears that were threatening to spill.

"I'm sorry..." he whispered. Shademan turned away.

"Apologize to me after you lose yourself to the Darkchips." he replied as he walked away. "You disgust me." the vampire navi added. It hurt to say such things, but his lover had it coming.

As soon as Shademan left, Burnerman slumped to the floor, tears coursing down his cheeks. "I'm sorry..." he sobbed to no one in particular. "I'm so sorry...please forgive my impudence, Shademan...I'm sorry..." he repeated, completely breaking down into tears as the room seemed to grow more silent.
