Now, ya see, some of us don't think that Netbattling is something that needed to be avoided. I'm not saying they have to hork off the games. The manga didn't, and I feel it didn't suffer as much as the anime. Cross Fusion is something I feel doesn't fit the concept. The basic element behind MMBN is the partnership between Navis and humans, with the strategy and element of working as a team.

In that sense, I feel that the manga version of Full Synchro > Cross Fusion.

Cross Fusion invalidates the Navi, giving them, at most, what is the role of a cheerleader. The concept of the operator doesn't; he bolsters the Navi with something more than just words.

Of course there is also the opposite side of the spectrum where we don't wanna have to hear the operator barking orders at the Navi and actually see the operator doing some damned physically labouring work. I don't see wht you guys get so damned upset about them "spamming full syncro" when in fact, the game spams a LOT more than the show does... Cross Fusion solidifies the bond of human and navi - now not only are they breathing at the same rate and working together...they're sharing the same body. That's something. As for the games, if you're gonna rag on the concept of Cross Fusion being exhausted, you should really take a look at all of the things they've re-used again....and again....and again in the games. To say they games is the strongest medium soley based on the fact that you don't like cross fusion is pigheaded...

My problem isn't the fact that it gets re-used. That's putting words in my mouth; you're attaching the common arguement to a point I never made.

My problem isn't that it's over-used. If I hated that idea, I'd hate Soul Unisions, Full Synchro, the very concept of battlechips. But I don't. I think it hurts the concept of the series a great deal - it's like Ash taking over the role of his Pokemon and turning into them instead. And Cross Fusion is anything BUT a fusion of Navi and human. The human takes over for the Navi, basically placing the Navi in the role of a backseat driver - except, unlike the operator, he can't DO anything. Full Synchro is more like that, with them thinking as one and bolstering their power together. That's not the case with Cross Fusion; it's just Lan, Chaud, or Raika with their Navi acting as a little voice in the back of their mind.

And Cross Fusion isn't the single merit by which I feel the anime is inferior. :/ That's AGAIN putting the words in my mouth. I just commented on it because that was the immediate topic at hand - someone said that it made the anime unique, and I said that it was something I didn't find worthwhile. I think there are other things the anime could have done that I felt were inferior and didn't live up to the standard of the games, including Bass's backstory, the way they handled "Shoryu", Colonel and Baryl/Barrel... so on and so forth. And the manga has proven that it can tell a mostly different story that follows story elements from the games, without making them too vastly different from their former selves. You have minor characters like PlantMan and DesertMan that are mostly different, but for the important things, they're more satisfying - Sean/Shun is an actual character, and Bass isn't just "evil because PharohMan was evil."

about the new gba, i am pretty sure people are thinking about the micro which is just a smaller gba, that still uses gba games. so there wont be any micro games for it because it is just a compact gba, similar to the sp and gba differences.

Oops, forgot about Plantman >_<

At any rate, the point is that in a practical view it's impossible for the Net Op and the Navi to do the same job. From a normal standpoint the Net Op is clear to see the battle and plan strategies which the Navi carries out, like a General and his soldiers. Both are crucial and neither are dispensible. We just don't know enough about Cross Fusion to argue more about it, certainly not enough for semantics at any rate.

And I sincerely hope the series doesn't move to the Micro, as that means I need to buy yet another handheld Gaming Platform, DS and PSP are quite enough thankyou!

The micro can be viewed as GBA SP 2, its a more compact version of the SP. the SP is just a new shape for the ADVANCE, it doesnt have any SP only games and neither will the micro because I guess the micro could be called a GBA pocket since it is the size of a small cell phone. peopl just assume that the games will be different when they are not. It is just a nother version of the Advance it does not have its own cartridge size. this was stated at E3 '05 when the Micro was announced.

EDIT: So in other words, it really wouldn't matter because the games will probably be DS games, which also means the next EXE game will also be on the DS but will be compatible with Micro.

I hope that answers your question HiKaizer

Wasn't so much a question as an outcry, but yes, thankyou for the clarification. Smile

Heres something I've been wondering. What do you think about the new navis attack. Will they stay true to their robot master counterparts. I personally think it would be awesome if Clownman kept his Thunder Claw, while also gaining some kind of flame breath attack (circus firebreathers...meh whatever).

With a new series come new navis, they look pretty good.

Chargeman: I hope there is no crossfusion with him, or that would be weird.
Clownman: I can't believe they made this one, he looks too much like ColorMan
Diveman: Totally weird, I wonder how it moves around without water.
Killer: He sorta reminds me of a Beserker from Fire Emblem, mostly because of his giant axe, I suppose. His op looks like a rich-boy.
Slashman: I love the way this guy looks.
Tenguman: He looks sorta meh, but I like him.

I think that's a Scythe that Killer has. (Seems more apporate) I sware Clownman's Operater looks like she could be Madoi's sister.

Oddly enough Slashmans operater makes me think of a mix of Rei and Saiyanama (Desertmans Op. Sorry if that's spelled worng ^^;Wink

Diveman could float, although that would be silly. The Submarine virii in Exe 5 do the same thing; Dive when there is water, float when there isn't.

Chargeman's operator looks like he wont have much personality. But besides that I think everyone looks awesome. Slashman and his operator look really cool. But Clownman and Diveman are tied for my favorite new navis of beast.

Okay, you have some points but you're still sorta missing mine a bit. True, Full Syncro is the highest point where Navi and Operator are basically fighting as one (although still, not really because the operator isn't really fighting, but I"ll pretend you're 100% right on that). However, I don't think Cross Fusion should be shunned.

Look at it this way, while there is a problem in the net, the Navi does the actual fighting while its operator is by its side strategizing and just being its coach - the Navi is doing the physical part while the operator is doing the mental work. Flash to the real world, and look at Cross Fusion. Now, seeing as the navi cannot come into the real world, the Operator is the one doing the physical fighting and the Navi is the one doing the mental work and instead of 'slotting in' battlechips, I would assume that it sorts through the PET data and then activates the Chip that the operator requests or the like. If you actually look at it without a bias, it's really just two worlds in which the Navi and Operator switch roles...and I think that's a good thing.

Now, that goes without saying that Cross Fusion has been the main focus of both Axess and Stream but note that Pure Netbattling was the main focus of Seasons 1 & 2 of EXE...so...I think we're about even with screen time. Let's see how beast plays out first before we judge which is being overused and whatnot, but I think if the first Ep. is any indication, NetBattles and CrossFusion will be well balanced...

Sorry if I sound pugheaded, but I just feel that too many people aren't looking at this very fairly..

So far, in beast Cross Fusion is balanced with net battling, which I've wanted since the end of Axess, but the reasons for cross fusion seem a bit frivilous and pointless. Cross Fusion to shoot a circuit board? lame, but atleast it didn't take 3/4 of the episode.

And Rockman giving Trill a Kawarimi doll? Best scene in Rockman history.

Now, stop killing navis in one episode then we have something to watch(Thoguh Spark got out , I'm sure he'll be dead soon)

On another note, it seems as though Grega represents wood and water, while Faltzer is Fire and Elec...

With plant man dead, Grega only has Water revive-ees (Freeze, Cold, Blizzard, and maybe Bubbs) Unless someone steals Wood, Tomahawk and Needle... Who wants to see a Cold beast? ME!!!!

XD Beast Coldman, dear god...

Well if that's true, then that means that we may just be seeing a manaiacal monster muffin sometime in the future from Falzer :D Freezeman would make a good one too. However, I wonder if many of the NAVIs with no element, or a different type (such as the wind and sword types) would be abe to be revived.

Wait, is this episode available or not? Because I don't see any threads for it being flaunted here. Sorry about that. I'm just being stir crazy because my neighbor's wireless router has "mysteriously" not been kind on connecting to my laptop for three days straight! (And I really need to keep up with this stuff.)

But you're saying Sparkman actually LIVED? Okaaaaay. Don't get their logic to kill Planty off after one appearance for the third time in a row. (You'd think by now, thousands of Japanese Plantman fans would riot about this.) If this happens to Z-Brightman, they will taste my pain!
