The "battle images" of your team navis do NOT count as the set encounters. No matter how many times you fight them, they are merely the alpha or beta images. You MUST find the set random encounter of the beta version somewhere on the Internet. ONCE you finish that form off, that navi will appear randomly along with the native viruses of that area. Once you beat THAT form with an 9-rank or better (S optimally), you shall be bestowed the SP chip.

I'd like to add that if you bust the Omega/SP version of that NAvi under 30 seconds without getting hit at all (poison doesn't count) your SP NaviChip will grow stronger. The faster you delete the SP Navi, the more stronger your chip will be.

If you bust the SP Navi in less than 10 seconds (EDIT: still without getting hit) it will maximise the damage on your SP NaviChip.

I found it easier to Put in Super armor and just bust him under 30 seconds.

But that means you get hit. Which means you won't be able to S-Rank him...

But that method works equally fine, provided you don't get hit too much. (And time your Anger mode critical attacks correctly).

You can't lower your busting rank when you get hit if you have super armor.

Thirty seconds is insanely easy to duck under. That translates to seven or eight turns, a bonus one if FullCust is used. The REAL challenge, or dare I say lucky break, is to finish in less than ten seconds.

Bugged Humor is QUITE a help. Seriously. It'll make your PAs that much more devastating and allow your main strategy to shine that much faster.

Yeah, that's why I always use Super Armor, it removes the flinching and won't let your busting level be lowered, so if you're SP hunting you should have Super Armor, it helps just in case you aren't able to dodge a hit.

Midnight is correct. Thirty seconds is pi. 10 is much more difficult however. I think it comes up to two turns with fastcust. Sounds much easier than it is...

Oh. So SuperArmor has GutsStyle effect without the rapid fire buster? O_o Never noticed.

I, too, glitched Humor as well, giving me easy 10-second S-ranks.

i knew how to attack dominerds...ty very much....im not that dumb...right now im just putting off getting 40 megachips and just running around end area 5....these V3 viruses sure dont make anything easier...

It's Forte Cross Rockman, not Bass Soul.

It's obtained with the E-Reader card for the Japanese version. There is no way to get it in the American version has been obtained other than cheat codes. DO NOT ask for the codes.

You can't get this unless you use a cheating device. The e-Reader card is Japan-exclusive and cannot be used in the American version.

ProtoSword, there is absolutly no such soul as Bass Soul or Forte Soul. It is called FORTE CROSS ROCK. FCR is not a soul at all, it lasts all battle and its effects are similars to styles. FCR also has effects that stay when you switch to a soul unison.

EDIT: Sketch and Hikari both beat me.
