|
|
Just so you ignore the annoyance of being notified when there's a reply, we can have a "You Have Posted In This Thread" icon. In those mystery data icons that we have, we can put a tiny circle in the center of the data icon. When you see that, that means that you posted in that thread. Much easier than checking your profile for all your posts. So, what do you say? :chat: |

I have seen such a function on other PHP:BB boards. To tell you the truth, I never really saw the reason to have such a function implemented. What would I do with the information that I posted in thread alpha and beta, but I missed posting in gamma and delta?
I know it comes standard with most PHP, and it should be relatively easy to implement, but I don't see its purpose. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Let's just say like, without that icon, you'd be lost in this forum looking for topics that you posted in. Forget the whole topics made by you and posts in your profile. :chat: I'm just showing you an easier way. :] |

Would it label topics you posted in years ago, or just topics posted in three, two days ago? :P It seems a lot of trouble just so people can have the priviledge of knowing that "okay, I posted here". If you're an active contributor, you won't need to have a list of topics to post in - you'll just read over what seems important and contribute. I don't like the 'grocery list' idea, as it makes people feel that they have to post in everything they haven't done so already.

-BMA | It could last like, forever, so you always know what topic you use to post in. Good times, you know? :] |

The forum lists the name of the person who lasted posted in a topic on the far right. I do not see the need for an extra icon to go along with it. If you can't remember what topic you've posted in, then your posts were probably not very meaningful in the first place. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. Nah. I don't want to be reminded of a topic I looked at seventeen months ago and made a crappy little post to, and then have it pop up in my face again when someone decides to revive it. :P

I agree with Nazne. I just go to the posts since last visit and post where I have something to say. I dont really use the view your own posts button to much... I dont think I'd ever pay attention to an icon that tellls you where you posted. _________________

I tend to remember all of the topics that I post in, so I wouldn't need the use of anything like that. And the data sprites just look so cool to put an ugly dot in the middle of 'em. ;_; _________________ deviantART / Live Journal / Yaoi Gallery |

While the idea is nice in theory, it's just another image to suck up bandwidth that is already tight. Simple is nice :D _________________

ayeh ayeh, nice idea, i've seen that on a forum *cough*megamancommunity*cough* but i think it's better if we leave that out, and if you do add it, have a dropdown in your profile to select how far back you want to see the topics you posted in, like yesterday, 2 weeks ago, 1 month, ECT. and me? i just go to my profile page and click the find all posts by this member, then i find my posts. _________________

Yeah, I suggest that REO doesn't ever get new smilies too. Think of the 0.25 - 1KB that will be lost per image! ;) _________________ Make a random avatar/ banner. | Atomic Fire's oekaki board. |
