How does a slasher work?

the Iai form(slasher) is good for many things you can also use with a high success rate against dominerd's or momogra's

Do you think Slasher would work against Spike? He's hard to beat. I just gave up on him. lol

Anyway, you don't have to be Aqua style to use Geyser. Perhaps you're using Waterline or Fountain and mistaking them for Geyser.

If you're using Geyser, and using exactly as in the screenshot comic, and it's STILL not working, then the only explanation is that you're game is glitched or something.

Nah, no GameSharky. Though I've thought about it...heh. Mainly to get the stuff you can't get unless you live in Japan and went to the varios conventions and stuff....plus extra zenny would be nice. ^_^ Don't own one though.

Maybe it IS Waterline or Fountain I'm thinking of.... I haven't had a chance to look again to see. I wish there was an all comprehensive site complete with battle chip pictures, what they do, how to use them, what's best to use them on, screen shots of how they look when used properly, and so on... All or none of course. :D

well, Sprites INC has pictures of all the chips from each game as well as their names of course. You could see if that helps.

Slahser is so godly wonderful. If I knew how it worked, I would not have wasted like half a year trying to beat these boss like beastman, and others. :grr:

Oh just a question, how did the slasher attack got raise so high from 180 to 240?

Well...I have a theory. Perhaps when Slasher appeared in BN2, people didn't know how to use it, even though when properly used it is a fabulous chip. Maybe the upping to 240 would attract a few more naive players to use slasher, and perhaps experiment with it until they figured it out.

Also, a lot of the chips were seriously downtuned in BN2, as their damage dropped fairly significantly from BN1. This was corrected in BN3, to an extent. However, IIRC, BN4 dropped the damage of the Slasher yet again...forgot to where...

Your thoughts?

it's most likely that they changed the damage because Iai Form can only be used on enemies that have the ability to step on your panels anyways and not every enemy can do that.

Still, it "feels" downtuned, in the loosest sense. Probably because many of the virus' HP has risen quite dramatically in the transition between the games. In the previous two games, a Slasher could wax just about any virus that came your way. Now, with 200+ HP viruses not uncommon, the Slasher can simply kill fewer enemies than it could before.

It still puts a pretty big dent in them anyway.

Yes, and it still does 240 damage. It was 180 in BN2 and NT, and then 240 onwards, so if anything the chip has been powered up, but I guess the viruses have been powered up more.

I never used it normally because you had to wait until the enemy charged at you to use it. And if it did charge at you with more than 240 hp, you'd get hit. And that's no fun.

Maybe I'll give it another try when I get BN5
