I have started a series of fanfics, starting with this one. It is kind of a prolougue to the big parts, this is just to introduce my characters and explain some of the plot. I recomend you read my last fic fist though, because it takes place two weeks after it.
Rated 14 A, even I should not be reading this. But hell, nobody cares, Discretion swears violence and mature subject matter. No sex though, I don't do that kind of thing.
This will be submited in chapters then the rest will be one shots.
A mid summers nightmare
Chapter 1: Divine intervention
It’s unfortunate really, I really was a bad person. I suppose a person is only as good as the person who befriended them. I must be the greatest person in existence, I met an angel once. She introduced me to a friend of mine, a net navi, named Skanker. If you knew who that was then you probably would know already why he was so good a friend, he saved my life. More then once I might add, in more emotional ways than physical. I met an angel once, or did I mention that? Her name was Amyl, in many ways, I would not be here right now without her assistance. Who am I you ask? Ok you didn’t ask, but I’ll tell you anyway. I am Lysander Thomas, I died once, or did I mention that? Perhaps my memory isn’t as good as I assumed, but need I care? I know two people who would be happy to tell you. Abraham Lincoln… Is not one of them, chances are you have heard of them before. Perhaps someday I will stop making odd guesses about your life, hell I guess I will start now. It was an unforgettable summer.
Kupo’s thoughts: Because I am not the narrator of this one, I have added Kupo’s thoughts: Entries from my point of view, to show what I think of what I have written. I did not base my main characters off me and my friends, completely original, that is why I need these entries.
“Looking for a good time?” Hermia walked up to me; she was not a pretty girl. But she was the best doctor around, unless you don’t believe that laughter is the best medicine.
“I suppose I am, you know any good mini-golf places near here?” I made jokes like this all the time, they were mostly the same but she laughed at every one. Her voice was what kept me alive for those troubling times.
“You would think that I would point you in the direction of one but I am out of money and I broke my finger a few hours ago while lifting the boxes of cigarettes over at the 9-11 a few blocks away.” She showed me her finger, I could tell that it was not broken, it was out of place (to say it more pleasantly).
“Oh my god… Its Flogging Molly!” I pointed off into an alley, she turned her head violently looking toward where I had pointed.
Kupo’s thoughts: I am sorry, I love my music which includes Flogging Molly too much.
“Where?” I grabbed her finger and snapped it back into place. I knew that she would look away, I had done this to her countless times. I suppose a setting observation is in order. You most likely don’t know what the hell I am talking about, that is the beauty of fanfics. You can confuse people to the bitter end, they usually think that because they don’t get it they missed something and they reread it over and over again until they find out that it has not been identified yet, then they feel embarrassment even though they have done nothing wrong.
I was an orphan, I was also homeless, but I was not alone. Hermia Killsner was a friend of mine from my days when I lived at an orphanage.
Kupo’s thoughts: I know, blatant A mid summer nights dream rip-off. But I had to, it’s like a super pwnzoar version of it with a whole lot of subtle product placement.
I plotted to escape, and I wound up dragging her along. I feel responsible for her, even if she came by her own free will. I am responsible for her living here in the park at Dentech city. We sleeped crouched among the bushes, hoping every day that we are not discovered. For most of the day we watched the more fortunate children go about their business, sometimes we watched the odd netbattle between rookies. I liked to point out their mistakes to Hermia, she recognized my eye for computers. I might have been a computer nerd if I had grown up with some money to spare. The only thing I had that had any relation to the subject was broken auto PET. With small amounts of wiring I found in dumpsters I made it usable again, unfortunately I cannot make navis and the data from the one that once dwelled in the PET was destroyed when the PET was. I did manage to pirate the Internet from a nearby café. I used it to look for lone navis in the net. I worked for a few hours a day on it, the rest was devoted to my part time job at 9-11, eat and sleep. Hermia however, being a year younger than I, was too young too young to work, but her over enthusiasm caused her to do work without pay for no apparent reason.
“You have got to stop doing that.” Hermia caressed her finger, her hand were so covered with grime that you could not see the scars on her hand. They were from the glass that covered the grass near where we slept.
“I will when you stop working at that wretched place for no money. You are going to kill yourself one day.”
“You are going to kill yourself one day also.” I looked at her oddly, it seemed as though in some way she knew what I needed to hear.
“We all die at some point.” I snapped myself out of it, I now knew what she meant. I find myself covering my fear with a classic guilt sauce. I do not know if you are familiar with the feeling, but if you ever do something really horrible, then you try to hide it from them, you get the perpetual feeling that they know and are giving subtle hints twenty four hours a day. I was a part of something that I could not tell her about, something horrible.
Every few nights I would sneak out and try to find alternate ways to get money. I was a petty thief, I stole money, I gambled, and I was the youngest known person to have ever killed more than ten people. Thirty-seven people, all for the most part innocent, but they made one mistake in life, they got in my way. If Hermia ever caught me coming back, I claimed I was working an extra shift, or I really had to go to the bathroom. I vowed that one day, I would get Hermia into a nice house and with a nice family. Until then, I tried to make life as easy as possible for her. I wouldn’t have even bothered if it wasn’t for her, I didn’t care about life.
We spent a few moments watching a group of kids on a field trip walk around, this was one group we had never seen before. But most kids were not active enough to come on their own and field trips here were uncommon.
“Children, I know none of you want to do anything other than netbattle but the rest is required by the tour staff.” Ms. Mari said hurriedly. She was the teacher of the group as I saw it, she seemed flustered.
“Surprise, surprise.” Hermia said to herself. “They would never have come here if it wasn’t.”
“Is everybody here?” Ms. Mari said quickly, she had the look as though she knew the answer already but hoped it was different. Similar to the feeling when you watch a gripping movie for the second time and you desperately hope the protagonist will not do what they inevitably will do.
“Do you even have to ask” A pink haired girl said irritably. I later found out that the pink haired girl was Maylu, a fairly pretty girl with a mind of her own but did not have the strength that Hermia had. “Lan is late again.”
Just then a boy entered the group and quickly found the front on a pair of inline skates.
“Sorry Ms. Mari.” He said quickly, Hermia could tell that he had said this a thousand times because he said it like an overused pun. Lan Hikari, this lazy child was a friend of mine for many years, but I did not like him from the start. As you would probably would be able to tell, we were a little harsh on the kids who had money enough to get what they wanted, when the wanted.
“Lan this is the last straw!” Ms. Mari said angrily. “Five minutes later and you would be drinking your latte through a stir stick.” It didn’t occur to me then that they were standing by the Starbucks stand. Ms. Mari was also holding a straw, go figure.
The rest of their trip they did routine things, throw pennies in the fountain (Where we would later fish them out for jerky money, play soccer, have a lunch break at wacdonalds, etc. But what happened after that was anything but.
“Off to the netbattle machine again.” Hermia commented to herself as though it was a professional sporting event. We were eating old sandwiches we had grabbed from an abandoned bar, it came from an odd sandwich dispenser from the seventies.
“That Lan kid really can battle, but his strategies and style are out of date.” I said boldly, I was trying to shift the conversation to another topic but Lauren was fixated.
“I am going to get a closer look.” Hermia stated clearly, what I said next was not a surprise to her.
“You might expose us, we look like hoodlums. We don’t want to move back into the alley now do we?” I said without lifting my eyes from my moldy sandwich.
“I really need to see this.” She replied and walked away without hesitation. She walked to the screen and squinted to see the navis inside, one a small blue figure with an arm-mounted cannon and the other a large clumsy yellow gorilla. It was obvious who was winning, the blue navi just ran around firing shot after shot, the yellow navi just lumbered around occasionally falling down. Its power level dropped substantially, eventually it quit and returned to its owners PET.
“I win again, anyone else want to lose again?” Lan said confidently, his being cocky was what brought me to watch his next battle.
“I will challenge the great Lan Hikari.” A boy about Lan’s age walked to the other side of the machine, he was rather ugly with his curly orange hair and very large acne problem. I stood alongside Lauren as the battle commenced.
“Well then, bring it on.” Lan said enthusiastically. “Jack in, Megaman, power up!”
“He he.” The boy laughed under his breath. “Splashman, OBLITERATE!”
Kupo’s thoughts: I always like making fun of what people in anime shows say for no reason.
“Boy that was elaborate.” I said quietly.
At first it appeared that they were evenly matched because neither of them attacked head on, but the two navis were not in the same league. Splashman’s bright blue body and helmet (and of course his name) gave away that he was water elemental, easy pickin’s for an electric elemental navi. Lan immediately used thundersoul and struck with a barrage of zaprings, unfortunately for Splashman water conducts electricity. Splashman jacked out and Lan began his “I’m the best” routine.
“Anyone else want to lose?” Lan yelled to the people gathered around the machine. But they were all staring at the orange haired boy.
“Damn navi, you lost for the last time!” He yelled into his PET, he bashed it against a tree and stomped away angrily. I bent over and picked up the broken PET, the navi was still alive but could not survive long in that unstable system.
“How about you?” Lan pointed at me, I stared at him in disbelief.
“Who? Me?” I stuttered pointlessly.
“Of course you.”
“I don’t have a navi.”
“You do now.” He pointed at the PET in my hand, and then moved it to the PET in my holder.
“But what about chips?” I asked, but my question was answered with a barrage of chips. I transferred Splashman to my PET and jacked in.
Megaman waited for me to make the first move, I told Splashman to just dodge attacks for a while while I adapted the navi to my style of work. I knew he was going easy on me because he didn’t switch to thundersoul right away. As soon as I installed the changes I worked this to my advantage.
Politely Mega did not attacked while the changes downloaded into Splashman’s program. Splashman turned from blue to a fairly dark shade of green, stripes appeared in somewhat random patterns all around his body, his backpack disappeared and grey armlets with odd symbols appeared on his forearms. His symbol changed directly to my symbol that was imprinted on my old watch he opened his eyes and was reborn as my custom navi: Kaze.
Kupo’s thoughts: Get it? Kaze, tee hee. Hey look, I’m a Kokiri!
I shuffled through the battlechips and pulled off a quick program advance.
“Fire blade, aqua blade, elec blade, battlechips in triple download!” I slotted in the chips and let Kaze let the powerful lifesword strike Megaman with tremendous force. He jacked out and returned to see the astounded face of Lan Hikari.
“You are quite good you know.” He said after collecting himself.
“Thanks.” I didn’t know quite what to say, it’s as though I was not controlling my body, my fingers were guided by something else as I rewrote the navi.
“Keep the chips.” Lan said generously and flung another at my head. I stared at the white navi chip in my hand, it had a mirror for a picture, I couldn’t tell what was going on, but I let my mind slip away for the next few hours. I had a navi now, the world was my lobster. Or oyster, whatever makes more sence.
“Umm, hello?” Kaze knocked on the glass of the PET as I typed vigorously on the keyboard of the PET.
“Need something? Accelerator, broadband?” I didn’t look up at my new navi as I spoke.
“I just assumed because now you are my operator we should get to know each other.” Kaze said surprisingly calmly.
“I suppose you are right, but I have work to do, maybe later.” I said while still typing rapidly on my computer.
“Yes, but a net navi and an operator should be completely in synch. I think I am right in assuming I am your first custom net navi?” I looked up at him this time, for a new net navi he seemed pretty educated.
“Yes, yes you are. But how did learn so much?” I asked him suspiciously.
“I learned a lot from my last two operators.” He said completely ignorant to how unreasonable that sounded.
“But I designed you.” I looked at Kaze blankly, he stifled a laugh.
“Sure you did.” Kaze said in sort of a twisted sarcasm.
“Who did?” I asked the blank stare adjusting to the possibility that Kaze was completely insane.
“Someone you don’t know.” I remember myself thinking ‘yep, he’s insane.’
“Who is that?” I asked blankly… again.
“Must I spell it out for you?”
“Please.”
“S-O-M-E-O-N-E-Y-O-U-D-O-N-T-K-N-O-W-!” He said, spelled irritably.
“You certainly were designed by me.”
“That is what you think.”
“Yes, that is what I think.”
“You’re wrong.”
“Really.” I smiled grimly. “Prove it.”
“Sure, remember that chip?” I rubbed my finger along the battlechip shaped bump on my forehead.
“Of course I do.” I pulled it out of the pocket of my worn green cargo pants. “What do I do with it?”
“Slot it in the PET.”
“What will happen?”
“Something.” He grinned and watched his leg as it twirled on the spot.
“I don’t know.”
“Third base!”
“What?”
“You don’t like Abbot and Costello?”
Kupo’s thoughts: Would you prefer to have me make fun of the bagel street sketch?
“No, I mean yes, I mean, how the hell do you know that?”
“I told you, I was not designed by you.”
“Then who?”
“Naturally.”
“You were designed by Naturally?”
“Dear God Joe-.” He held his mouth so not to speak the rest of his sentence.
“Joe?”
“Never mind.”
“No, I do mind.”
“Mind what?”
“Mind my mind?”
“I’ll ask the questions here Joey-”
“Joey who?”
“Damn it!”
“Damn what?”
“It!”
“Define ‘it’.”
“I don’t know your name.”
“What?”
“You never told me.”
“Really?”
“Which brings back to my first point.”
“Your nose?”
“No, we don’t know each other.”
“Wow, well I suppose now is as good a time as ever.”
“That is not what you said last time.”
“What did I say?”
“You know what you said.”
“Ok then I do, now what?”
“Lets start with a name.”
“Lysander Thomas.”
“Kaze, otherwise known as Wind… Or Rockman.”
“What?”
“Different universe pal.”
“Pal?”
“It’s a word dumbass.”
“Dumbass? That’s a great way to start a friendship.”
“I’m sorry.”
“What?”
“I apologize, I’m sorry, gomen ne sai, ZUT!”
“I understand Kaze, I am an aggravating person.”
“You truly are.”
“Nice.”
“Nice what?”
“Nice ass… sarcasm dude!”
“I see…”
“I see you have issues, both of you.” Hermia walked out from behind a nearby tree, I was surprised at how good she really was at hiding from me.
“How long have you been here?” I asked almost instantly.
“About 13 minutes.” Kaze answered that question before Hermia had the chance.
“How the crap did you do that?” Hermia asked without much regard for her ‘manners’.
“I’m a damn net navi, I have a calculator programmed into me. Haven’t you wondered why Lan Hikari keeps passing math class?” Kaze crossed his arms and closed his eyes.
“Yes that does make sence, we are both in a matter of speaking ‘technologically challenged’.” Hermia said in sort of a half insulted laugh. At this point I had a pretty good assessment of Kaze by now even if his speech was less than understandable, and his power and capability was not entirely clear. I had some idea about how he would integrate into our group.
“Hey Hermia, you talk to Kaze for a while, I have something to do.”
“What?”
“What, what?”
“What are you doing?”
“I am going… out.”
“Cut the crap, where are you going?”
“To meet a friend.”
“You are not going to get any clearer are you?”
“Nope.”
“Then don’t stay out too late, we could use the navi to our advantage financially.”
“The navi, what am I? A women?” Hermia frowned at Kaze’s words.
“Don’t push it bub.” She was joking around but Kaze shut up anyway.
“Right.” I left the park and headed into a dark alley. I walked through the slums until I hit an old bar, I guarantee that the taps had run dry so I wondered why someone would want to meet in such a place.
I’ll back up, a few weeks previous I received an anonymous call to meet them at this bar today. I am normally not an impulsive person but I had a fairly good feeling about this job. Normally they stated flat out something like ‘you tell anyone and I’ll personally see you are stuffed and decorate the wall from my summer home in Bangkok’.
I entered the bar and took a seat beside the only other person in it. The radio was playing a song called ‘Nerd Alert’ which made sense because the kid was not the coolest person in existence.
Kupo’s thoughts: Is there anything the aquabats can’t do?
“Hello.” I said to the person, he was a child, this was not entirely what I had expected, but the oddest thing was that he was the kid to whom Splashman belonged.
“I am guessing that you are Lysander.” He didn’t look at me, he just chugged his drink.
“I am.” I said with a somewhat relaxed tone, it didn’t fool him though.
“Drink.” He suggested and passed me a glass of what looked like what he was drinking. I took a swig but recoiled at the realization of what it was.
“Vodka? Seems a little stiff for a man of your… age.” He had to be about twelve, I was fourteen but the legal limit was above that by quite a lot. I had drank liqueur before but it seemed odd drinking with a child younger than me.
“I like to keep my options open if you know what I mean.” He seemed a little insulted when he said this, it made sense, poking fun is insulting but can be hilarious if you can do it right.
Kupo’s thoughts: Good times, good times.
“No I don’t but you seem to like exotic things.” He laughed heartily at my odd humored joke.
“So what is this about?” I put down my drink and turned my chair so I was looking at him directly.
“Have you ever heard of the darkchip syndicate?” He turned towards me so I cold see his expression.
“You are talking about netcrime, I haven’t done that kind of thing before.”
“But you beat Lan Hikari, no small feat.”
“None the less I do not know my navi well enough to make an effective pairing.”
“But Dr. Regal thinks you would make a brilliant addition to our team.”
“When did you join?”
“Don’t stray from the topic.”
“Maybe if I learned how you joined, I could decide whether it is for the greater good.”
“The greater good is your good, I was upset because I couldn’t win but they showed me real power.”
“So when did you join?”
“Yesterday.”
“But you lost to Lan today.”
“Yes but I got rid of my navi and got a better one.”
“Really? Let me see him.”
He pulled out a PET and showed me his navi. It was a humanoid red navi with no visible face, but it did have very small feet. From the way it moved around I guessed it was a speedy navi but still did not lack power, similar to a snake.
“Obliterate makes more sense now I suppose.”
“Indeed.”
Kupo’s thoughts: I know what your thinking, and I am not British.
“Now let me tell you what you will be doing. We want you to break into this building and open the safe in the top floor.” He opened a holographic image of a building on his PET and pointed to the top floor.
“What is in the safe?”
“We can’t tell you that until you complete the mission.”
“Ok, I am in when and where?”
“The building is on Fourth Street and I am scheduling this for two weeks from now, you coordinate the strike. Oh, and take this.” He handed me a small chip, it was rather odd. It was completely grey except for the center which looked artificially black. The odd design suggested that it had some other purpose that was unknown to me at the time. “It is a sychrochip, it allows crossfusion. But this one is special, it requires no effort to synch with your navi.”
“How do I use it?”
“Slot it in when you are in a dimensional area.”
“What’s that?”
“It is a field that fuses the cyberworld with the real one.”
“I’ll get on this.” I started to walk out the bar when he spoke again.
“Marshal.”
“What?” I turned around to meet his back facing me.
“Marshal, my name is Marshal.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Ha! I got you now Marshy boy, you got an evil guy named after you. Take that!
“Pleased to meet you Marshal, my name is Lysander Thomas.” I said courteously.
“You are really different.”
“From what?”
“Never mind.”
I walked out the bar and into the slums. I thought as I walked, I don’t normally do that. I thought about Marshal, he desired power. I suppose he obtained it, but there is always a catch to power from a tainted source. I didn’t want power, I wanted to help Lauren at any cost. I suppose the cost would the same for both of us but I didn’t know how bad it was, I didn’t care. Hermia deserved more than I could give her, the truth was that I was not a great guy, I had many a crime on my chest and I could not let her get tangled up in it. That was my goal, I had no other reason in my mind, that might have been what clouded my judgment. I was not a happy person back then but I had the occasional thing to brighten my spirits everyday. Today was no exception, letting Kaze and Hermia get to know each other seemed like a good idea at the time.
“Um, do you have Prince Albert in a can? Well you better let him out!” Hermia wailed into the PET in a fake British accent.
“I hate you prank callers, Prince Albert is perfectly content in his can!” The person she was talking to snapped back, it was no surprise he hung up.
“Nice.” Kaze laughed incredibly hard. “Next call that bar and ask for Hugh Jass!”
“You guys are eating up my minutes.” I was then tackled by posers.
“Poser mobile says you are out of prepaid minutes!”
“Screw you, you damn posers.” I punched each of them in the stomach and watched them run away.
“You may have won this time but I have good news!”
“What’s that?”
“I just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geico! Yeah baby!”
I went to sleep early that night, I had to practice for the job. I had not yet explained to Kaze what was going on, I did not think much of it because navis were supposed to follow their net-ops to the bitter end.
“Kaze? Kaze? KAZE!” I tried to wake Kaze so we could get down to the arcade early, I could gamble for netbattles to get some money at the same time. I assumed it was a win-win situation, get money and experience.
“What is it?” Kaze rubbed his eyes and spoke with a slight British accent.
“We have to go to the arcade and netbattle some hopeless losers.”
“The reason being?”
“To get money?”
“How do you plan to do what?”
“Naïve little bastards bet their loose change on their winning, we put them out of their misery.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Ebil, vewy ebil.
“Why do we want to do that old chap?”
“You are pushing it with that hip-hip honey nut cheerios thingy.”
“Then reset the accent parameters and turn me back to normal.”
“Fine, I will.”
I opened up the navi customizer HTML program. I opened the keyboard and was about to type when I realized something.
“I have no idea what the crap I am doing.”
“Excellent.” His accent had gone and he had a satisfied look in his eyes.
“This was a test wasn’t it?”
“No it was the proof.”
“What proof?”
“The proof!”
“The proof?”
“Yes!”
“The proof?”
“YES!”
“You can’t handle the proof!”
“What I mean is you asked for proof you weren’t who designed me, and now you have it.”
“But then how do you explain the fact that it was my hand?”
“You were guided by an invisible force.”
“And what would that be?”
“I cannot reveal that information at this time.”
“What are you, a customs officer?”
Kupo’s thoughts: I hate airports.
“In my spare time.”
“Wow, you really are something else.”
“What?”
“Insane!”
I ran to the arcade with a new spirit in mind, I now thought of Kaze as a friend, these became regular talks and they became funnier, Kaze was a person who really appreciated random humor.
As we ran I talked with Kaze some more, but unbeknownst to me Hermia had become curious as to my whereabouts and had followed me in silence to the arcade. She hid amongst the crowd and watched me with her suspicious eyes.
“I am looking for a challenger!” I yelled out to the group, half of their hands shot up. “But I only play for money!” All the hands shot back down.
“Sure why not?” A very large child in a yellow shirt walked to the other end of the machine he handed me a ten-spot.
“Good, jack in.” I instructed him.
“Jack in, Gutsman power up!” Gutsman, a large yellow navi standing like a gorilla entered the fray and pounded his chest. This was the same navi that Lan defeated at the park the day before, it was a good thing that he didn’t battle me before or I would lose all hope of gaining any money.
“I always found that phrase overused I like to make up my own. Enter, Kaze connection!” I jacked Kaze into the machine, everybody stared at my obsolete PET, I was glad, already the croud had underestimated me already. I smiled and begun phase one of my get rich quick scheme.
“How did you learn that phrase?” Kaze demanded boldly.
“Not now, I need you to do this.” I explained my strategy to Kaze quietly. He understood what I was doing but he wondered why, he couldn’t ask it so he decided to place his trust in me.
I started slow, basic chips like sword or shotgun, to let him know that I was not the expert Lan was. Gutsman was unaffected by these bombardments and retaliated with slow and weak punches, this is where the real show began. Kaze let all his defenses down and took them hard, although he was not harmed he acted as though they did. The over acting gave the audience the feeling I was losing.
Gutsman came running out and gave Kaze a stiff uppercut, Kaze fell to the ground, he collected himself and got back up. I sent a minibomb to him, he threw it on the ground, dust flew around them. Kaze threw all of his power into a few quick punches until the dust faded away. Gutsman threw another punch his way, Kaze ducked and punched him hard in the stomach. Gutsman jacked out, so did Kaze, he winked at me from the PET.
“Good battle, best in a while. I’ll get you next time… name please?”
“Lysander.”
“Lysander!”
“I look forward to it.” I turned back to the audience. “Anyone else want to make a buck?”
Kupo’s thoughts: Oh oh, pick me!
Half the hands in the room raised, my plan had worked.
“Excellent.” I said to myself quietly. “This is going to be too easy.”
I started with the novices, I barely won against them and they reluctantly gave up their pocket money. My skill attracted more and more until I was actually up against advanced battlers, I enjoyed the fresh challenge and I had more than seven hundred dollars by the end of the day. I used the money to buy a sub par apartment for Hermia and I. All it had was a broken sink, a toilet, a shower, and a bed but it was better than the ground of the park. Through the week I got more money by doing the same thing, I could now afford good food, new clothes, and battlechips. Hermian was happy with this, she had also been able to make some money by netbattling with Kaze, she took the park and I took the arcade. The living was unstable but I had a big payout coming, Hermia still remained suspicious of my frequent visits to the bar to plan the attack.
“I cannot believe how much our lifestyle has changed in only a week.” Hermia commented.
“True, but you don’t hear me complaining.” I said to her, I turned towards her. She had just gotten out of the shower and she looked somehow different. I had never noticed before that, she had beautiful long blonde hair. The dirt had hidden it for years, sometimes I would ask who she was if I ran into her on my way to the local floor-mart. She laughed as though it was a joke when I did, I pretended to so I wouldn’t offend her.
“I don’t mean to but, it’s just…odd.”
“You aren’t used to having these luxuries.”
“I know, but it seems extreme even for a working girl who pulls in minimum wage.”
“Minimum?”
“You know what I mean.”
“I suppose, but we are not living it large.”
“Yeah, just look at that Lan Hikari and that Maylu Sakurai.”
“They are the local rich kids, have you seen his chip variety? He can pull any chip out at any time.”
“I think that is just a plot hole or an error on the writers part.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Not me, I gave him a chip in my fics.
“I think your right.”
“But what is our aim? What are we doing? What do we want out of life?”
“To get a decent living, netbattling for money and we want to enjoy ourselves as much as possible.”
“What?”
“Just think about it, we live out our lives in a routine way why would we live if we didn’t enjoy ourselves?”
“Good point, where did you get that? A cereal box?”
“Yes.”
“Who would have thought you would get the meaning of life out of a cereal box?”
“I did.” I pointed to the nutritional information on the chocolate frosted sugar bombs.
“Glucose, 42 kilograms.”
I walked slowly out the door of the apartment, Hermia slept soundly in her bed or so I thought. For a moment I paused and stared at her unconscious body. Soon I would get her everything she deserved, that is what I desperately wanted. I had no hope for the future, not for me at least. I left the room and walked down into the street, as the darkness once again consumed her body, she opened her eyes.
I walked down the street, but as I passed a bus stop I saw Marshal stepping off one.
“Are you ready?” He asked, not a trace of nervousness or remorse lay on his heart. He knew what he was doing, he knew it was what was supposed to happen.
“I suppose I should be, but I feel that something is going horribly wrong.”
“Hopefully, you are wrong.”
“Now, I have read over your plans and they are quite well thought up. But I have one question, why aren’t you going to get into the building before they activate the dimensional area?”
“The aggravating henshin sequence, what else?”
Kupo’s thoughts: It’s so true!
“I know what you mean, this way to the Helicopter!”
“And who made this helicopter?”
“Who else but Yamaha?” Marshal said as though he was in a crappy infomercial.
“They make everything.” Both of us gave a thumbs up.
We walked into the bushes where he dragged out a full-sized yellow helicopter.
“Who would have known they would have helicopter shaped bushes beside a bus stop?” I asked rhetorically.
We boarded the helicopter, it was flown by Marshal’s navi. We flew over the city to a very large building like the one on the holographic map. A dimensional area engaged over it and I leapt out of the helicopter, through the dimensional area and onto the roof of the building.
The crossfusion worked, but to my surprise the suit seemed darker than Kaze’s normal color. I didn’t think much of it at the time but I really wish I had.
In Lan’s house, he was spending time working away at his computer. He stopped abruptly when he got a message from Mr. Famous.
“Lan, we have a dimensional area activated will you be able to make it?” He showed a map of where it was.
“Fourth street huh? That is not far from here, I’ll get over there right away.” Lan grabbed his inline skates and zipped over to the building.
He arrived at the area and ran up the building next to it. He slotted in his synchro chip, he gathered a running start and jumped into the other building. He crashed through a window and slammed against the wall.
“I have seen the matrix too many times.”
I walked down through the building, disabling security as I went. The strength I felt was extraordinary, never before had I felt so powerful. Coming from the top was a stroke of genius considering the safe was on the top floor. I have always wondered why it is always high up in the building when you are looking for something.
I wondered down the hall but at the other end was Lan Hikari, he couldn’t see me very well at the time s I think he assumed I was some random darkloid.
“Sword, battle chip in!”
He activated a sword and charged at me, I countered with a well-placed cannon. As the cloud of dust subsided I saw him standing there barely harmed. He slashed at me, I easily dodged it by ducking.
I tried to activate an elecblade, but I somehow lost control and the armlets on my arms screwed onto my hands and became powerful busters. I appeared behind him with no explainable cause and blasted him. He fell to the ground, I kept firing. I couldn’t stop, I shot him until he lost consciousness and he lost his crossfusion. I regained control and ran to the safe, I used a fireblade battlechip to open it. But I was surprised at what I found.
“Well hello.” A man walked out of it, he looked ather strange with his odd labcoat and weird hair combined with a goatee.
“Who the hell are you?” I asked him simply and angrily.
“Who do you think?”
“Dr. Regal!”
Kupo’s thoughts: You remember Larry Regal from my last fic? I enjoyed messing up his character so much, I did it again.
“That’s Dr. Professor Regal to you.”
“Why did you send me here if you already have secured the safe?”
“A test my dear boy.”
“Crazy evil bastards with your tests, and your make-out parties.” I whispered to myself.
“I made this one up so that you would find this.”
“And I did.”
“You beat Lan on the way, that’s extra points.”
“Huh?”
“This isn’t whose line is it anyway, the points DO matter.”
“So I just took an examination?”
“A test, not an exam, this is not university.”
“A test then, but what did I achieve?”
“Nothing, I bought this building yesterday.”
“You are a crazy psycho you know that right?”
“You aren’t the first person to say that.” He pulled out a notebook and made a tick on a tally chart. “You’re the fifty-seventh.”
“So, I just beat the crap out of Lan Hikari and it was all a test?”
“Oh, and we will take him back to our lab and experiment on him but yes it is a test.”
“This is just an innocent eleven-year-old boy and you want to experiment on him?”
“This isn’t a group of sissies, we have to do it.”
“Why?”
“Because.”
“Because why?”
“Just, because.”
“Am I still going to get paid?”
“You know it, the money has been wired to your account, but I am offering you a no strings attached job.” He handed me a brochure. “Think about it.”
“I will.”
I walked out the door, but as I threw he brochure in the garbage can Lan attacked me again. He tackled me and forced me to the ground, I pushed him off me and jumped to my feet. I ripped my helmet off and threw it behind me, I thought I might be able to reason with him.
“Lan, it’s me!” I yelled at him, he ignored it and punched me in the stomach. “From the park!”
He activated a goldfist and smacked me upside the head. I recoiled and clutched my head.
“Stop it!” I yelled again.
He came at me again and kicked me in the shoulder, I fell to the ground. My eyes slid out of focus and I felt myself get up and throw Lan across the hall. I was not in control of myself, my eyes had turned a deep red this seemed to be the only sign that I had changed. I activated the busters and shot Lan until he stopped moving, but this time I didn’t regain control. I continued to shoot him, I was tearing him apart and I could barely stand to watch it, but I couldn’t do anything about it. I watched in horror as I slowly killed Lan, but I never got that far.
“Lysander?” Hermia was standing several meters away. My busters turned to her, she ran. It was only then I regained control.
Hermia ran out of the building into an aimless direction. She cried in her hands, she was usually not sensitive but having the only person you ever trusted betray you is a horrible feeling. She didn’t realize where she was until she stumbled into a familiar bench. She sat there and cried for several minutes, she tried to take in what had happened but she couldn’t.
She stopped, coming from the cemetary she heard the sound of contented singing.
“Never saw the sun, shining so bright,
Never saw things, looking so light,
Suddenly the days, fluttering by,
When your in love, my how the fly,
Oh blue skies-
Oh hello there.” It was a boy about her age, laying on a gravestone and staring at the sky. He noticed Hermia staring at him after the first verse.
“Hello.” Hermia replied with a small detectable suspicion.
“What are you doing here this late at night?”
“I am trying to come to peace with my mind.”
“Isn’t that why we come here anyway?” He said quietly.
“What do you mean?”
“This is a cemetery is it not?”
“What are you doing here?” Hermia ignored his last remark.
“I am waiting for a friend.”
“This is the gravestone that the pink-haired girl always stares at.”
“Maylu? She comes here often does she?”
“Almost everyday.”
“That is a nice thought, you can remember a friend even when they are no longer in the realm of the living.”
“You can’t remember this guy.” Hermia pointed at the engraving.
“Maybe not, but he did exist.”
“You know this? They don’t have a body or any record of him existing.”
“Just because you don’t know what a guy’s interests or birthdate or even what he looks like, doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist.”
“Mind if I sit down?” Hermia asked quickly after a short pause.
“Pull up a grave.”
Hermia lay down on the grave next to his and stared at the sky. It was the clearest night she had seen in a while. She could see all of the stars and planets very clearly.
“You know they say on a night this clear, God has made the way for angels to come down to earth.” The boy said quietly.
“You really believe that?”
“I do, no matter how improbable something is, don’t give up on it because what you believe in could be more real than you think.”
“That is deep.”
“I have a lot of free time.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Lucky bastard.
“I am glad to have met you, I am not upset any more.”
“I sometimes have that effect on people, and other times I am just a pain in the ass.”
“Hard to believe.”
“You can never truly grasp what someone else feels until you walk a mile in their shoes.”
“I like that saying.”
“I like it too, it gives me comfort knowing that perhaps there is more I could always learn more about somebody.”
“I never thought of it that way.”
“Most people don’t, a few people say that I have really influenced their life. But I just told them what they were thinking, it’s surprising how many mislead people there are in the world.”
“I know.” Hermia thought about me, I had betrayed her. But I just wanted to help her, the problem was misinterpretation. I don’t need to explain the 99 red balloons story again do I?
“I know you do.” He said myseriously, this guy was some kind of crazy. Well from my interpretation of Hermia’s story.
“How?”
“Your face, it spells betrayal. Most of the time mislead people just follow a different ideal until they reach the point where they realize it’s too late to get out. It’s kind of like if a guy became pope and then remembered he was Jewish.”
“Your explanation leaves something to be desired.”
“Don’t I know it. But it works on lots of people, and for the nerds I explain it’s like becoming a sith lord and then realizing you only came here to go to the bathroom.”
“That’s not much better.”
“I know but it makes the Star Wars geeks happy.”
Kupo’s thoughts: I like to stare blankly at the KOTOR loading screens, but you already knew that did you not?
Hermia laughed heartily, she needed a good laugh.
“Hermia, I have a deal for you.”
“Name it.”
“I want you to go to this house right now.” He showed her a map on his PET.
“Then what?”
“Ask the person who answers if you can help them.”
“What will happen?”
“If you really want to know, you’ll go and try.”
“Ok then.” Hermia began to walk away.
“But!” The boy interrupted. “You cannot stray from the exact words.
Hermia walked away, she felt happier having met this boy. She hadn’t gone far when she remembered. I forgot to ask for his name!
She ran back only to find an empty graveyard, she sighed and began walking again. Wait a minute, how the hell did he know my name?
She arrived at a comfy home on a nice dark, quiet street. She knocked on the front door, a girl answered.
“Hello.” She said cheerfully, it was early in the morning but she still smiled as though it was the first day of summer when in fact that was about two weeks previous.
“Can I help you?” Hermia asked in a rather frightened tone. For no apparent reason she pulled her into the house and dusted her off.
“You are filthy, I insist you stay the night.” The girl grabbed Hermia and pushed her into the kitchen. “You need food? How about a disguise sandwich?”
Kupo’s thoughts: Anyone remember that joke?
“Ooh, that sounds nice- wait what is going on?”
“I can’t stand to let someone suffer. I’ll call you parents right away.”
“I don’t have any parents.”
“Well then your legal guardians?”
“Nope afraid not.”
“Siblings?”
“Nada.”
“Foster home?”
“Nope- wait isn’t that the same as legal guardian?”
“Absolutely.”
“Ok then, then may I ask what you hope to accomplish?”
“I feel the need to help you.”
“Why?”
“I have no idea, it is some kind of impulse.”
“I was told to come see you.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.”
“How did they know?”
“I don’t know.”
“Maybe it was divine intervention.”
“You mean that guy I talked to was some kind of angel?”
“Or a God. You never know in this day and age.”
“May I at least ask for your name?”
“I’m Maylu, maybe I’m a little off character but don’t blame me, blame him!” She pointed at me.
“Come on, I’m trying to tell a story here.”
“Fine.”
“And… ACTION!”
Kupo’s thoughts: For the record, I am not making a movie.
“Maylu? You’re the girl who keeps visiting the empty grave!”
“I knew him, I truly did.”
“The guy also did.”
“I can’t remember much, but for a few seconds I have a very clear memory. I was crying but I don’t remember why, I pressed a button on a PET and then I woke up in my bed. The rest is a blur, but I remember certain details. Like a boy named Doug, a war, two Protomans and some other things that don’t make sense. I know they happened despite how improbable it is.”
“No matter how improbable something is, don’t give up on it because what you believe in could be more real than you think.” Hermia remembered exactly what the boy had said and spoke it word-for-word as though she wasn’t speaking it.
“That is good advice.”
“It is, but it is not mine.”
“What do you mean?”
“I didn’t speak just now, someone else did.”
“Hmm?”
“Someone spoke out of my mouth but it wasn’t me.”
“More divine intervention?” Maylu suggested.
“I don’t know, I’m tired, do you mind if I rest here tonight?”
“Of course, hell, you can stay as long as you want, it’s not as though I have any parents.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Inside joke alert!
“Right, well tomorrow I’ll find a place to stay and be out of your hair.”
“But without a family how will you survive?”
“Same way I have all my life, alone.”
Oooh, cliffhanger. Wait until I finish the rest and then I will start the whole thing.

You don't need to ask permission, since you're a good friend of mine, therefore you automatically have permission. /o/~ _________________

I certainly do, you'll see a hint somewhere in it. But for now, I have chapter 2 up. This one is alot shorter but I did add many more inside jokes and stuff.
This chapter is dedicated to James Doohen.
You will be missed Scotty,
Chapter 2: Memoirs of a forgotten past
I sat by the counter of the old bar where I sat two weeks before. I was drinking some beer I bought at the local liqueur store.
“Drinking for eleven, that’s just what I do-” The radio blasted another oddly specific song.
“Drinking for eleven? How appropriate.” I threw down my eleventh beer.
Kupo’s thoughts: Man he must have been stoned. Eleven? I throw up at like six. I’m kidding.
“Cheer up boyo.” A husky man with a Scottish accent jumped up.
“Scotty!”
“That’s James Doohen to you laddy.” He said angrily.
“Well James, I can’t cheer up.”
“Sure you can, I’m dead and you don’t see me complaining ‘bout it.”
“Of course not, your dead!”
“Now that’s a real kick in the pants.”
“How did you get here if you’re dead?”
“Have you never heard of astroprojection?”
“Nope ‘fraid not.”
“Well that be too bad. Aren’t you a little young to be drinking?”
“Don’t blame me, this is Kupo’s fic.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Don’t blame me boyo, you’re the one who had the idea for coincidence café. Stick with it.
“Fine then Kupo.”
“Well where were we?”
“You were about to tell me something.”
“Right, go to this BBS tomorrow at 2:42 sharp. Tell the girl Colette, that you need her advice.”
“Sounds good to me.”
“I don’t think so because you are staring at the women in the red dress.” I looked away from the women and back at James. “Look again.” I turned again, it was an agent holding an ice cream cone. I turned back to James. “Look again.” It was a cow with sunglasses and a yellow Mohawk. I turned back. “Look again.” It was a visa. I turned back and James was gone.
“Dear god that was awfully in bad taste.”
The next day came quickly, the promise of waking up and maybe having the previous day being a dream was too much to pass up. I got up quickly and dashed out the door of the apartment to the hallway and down to the busy streets below. I smiled as I ran through the busy streets and around the neighborhood. The sun was shining on my back, I screamed as I ran.
“Happy Day!” I yelled at passing cars as I ran in no set direction.
As I passed the neighborhood where Maylu lived I felt weak. I fell to the ground behind the bushes near her house, the two of them left while I was incapacitated.
“Today we will find a suitable place for you to live. If we don’t succeed you can be my adopted sister!” Maylu said cheerfully.
“Sure!” Hermia tried to be cheerful too but depression is depression no matter how you word it.
Kupo’s thoughts: What about, the I was betrayed by my best friend blues?
“Shut it Kupo.”
“Well I may not know a whole lot about you now but I hope you like Ramen cause I make it with mustard.”
“Yummy.” Hermia said without even trying to sound interested.
“Cheer up Hermia, it’s a new day.”
“You couldn’t understand.”
“I might, you could try.”
“Courage is hope to some, definite failure to me.”
“Come on. What could be that serious that you could lose faith so easily.”
“I’ll buy you a drink.” Hermia lead Maylu into the fourteenth cup.
I ran by there just after they had gone in, I continued my run. But I saw what time it was and ran to the nearest computer store to access the Interweb.
“Enter, Kaze, connection.” I put Kaze into the system. He checked the board for Colette. My watch ticked to 2:42. Colette logged on, I sent her a message.
I need advice, I was told to ask you by James Doohen.
She replied:
Many people need advice, and James Doohen is dead, how do I know your not some crackpot?
I replied to her reply:
James Doohen was sent back to earth, and you don’t know that I’m a crackpot. I just want friendly advice.
She replied again:
I’ll meet you at the stadium, I can’t talk here. They are watching.
I queried:
Who is?
Before she logged off she said two words:
Not now.
I ran away, to the stadium. As I entered Hermia and Maylu walked by it.
“That is tough.” Maylu said calmly.
“You have no idea.”
“Well at least everything will be Ok.”
“How do you know that.”
“The good guy’s always win.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Not in this lifetime sister.
“Crap.”
“Well I could find more friends, or I could try and turn him.”
“You could.” Maylu opened her eyes to the size of dinner plates. “I am having another impulse. Follow me.”
“Ok then…” Maylu grabbed Hermia and pulled her back to her house.
She left Hermia at the door and went through her drawer until she found it.
“Here.” She handed Hermia a PET. “It is special, the functions are completely different.”
“Why give it to me?”
“You were meant to have it.
“How the hell do you know that?”
“I don’t, these impulses are killing me. I hate puberty.
Kupo’s thoughts: Don’t we all?
“Well I don’t know what to say.”
“Say you’ll accept it.”
“Alright then.”
“Now go out there and paint the town red.” Maylu yelled at Hermia encouragingly.
“I will, thanks.”
Maylu waved her out the door. When suddenly realized something.
“Didn’t I bury that thing?”
“Hello?” I walked cautiously into the stadium, the lights were off.
“Oh hello.” A girl was examining a pillar in the corner of the room.
“Are you Colette?”
“Oh that’s just my screen name, you can call me Amyl.”
“Well Amyl can you help me?”
“I can.”
“Will you?”
“I’ll try.”
“Well there is this girl see? And she is-”
“I know.”
“What?”
“I know about Hermia and your little backfiring money scheme.”
“How the hell do you know that?”
“You didn’t think Colette was just a random name did you?” Wings sprouted from her back and a soft glow illuminated the room.
“To be honest with you I did.”
“Honesty is good. You had better get in his good books while you can.”
“What?”
“Nevermind, about your friend. I know someone living who can help you.”
“Who is this?”
“I’ll explain that later. Right now I require something of you.”
“Name it.”
“Kaze.”
“I didn’t mean that literally.”
“No, Kaze.”
“Yes?” Kaze answered from his PET.
“I need you to go to her. You are Hermia’s navi now.”
“Don’t I have a say in this?” I asked.
“Nope, ‘fraid not. This person is a navi, he’ll be waiting at this location.” She opened a map on her angelic PET.
“Why do people keep doing that?”
“He’ll be here.” She pointed at the bar.
“At the bar?”
“Yep.” I started to walk away.
“Wait!” She yelled back. I turned around. “ANGEL FEATHERS!” She attacked me without touching me, I fell backward and my PET shattered. “I have always wanted to do that, Colette has too much fun.” Amyl disappeared into the darkness.
“How am I supposed to get a navi without a PET?” My plea was useless, I was talking to a damn wall.
Kupo’s thoughts: On the tales of symphonia note, I wonder if Kratos wears underwear? I’ll be back in a few hours.
Hermia walked along the streets with the PET in hand, she tracked the auto PETs signal but it had disappeared a few seconds before.
“Ah, it’s good to be back.” Kaze appeared in the PET. Hermia stumbled backwards and nearly dropped the PET.
“Kaze, what are you doing here?”
“I am your navi now.”
“Why?”
“Lysander has to learn the right or wrong way to handle life. The greater good is unclear for him.”
“I need to see him!”
“Why?”
“I need to say I’m sorry.”
“Wrong, he does.”
“What?”
“He has been granted a navi who can be there for him and can guide him up the right tree.”
“Huh?”
“I’m being metaphorical, he is a squirrel. He was so focused on his goal he would do anything to complete it. He would follow other squirrels and they would promise him nuts in return for favors, some of which countered him goal. He was mislead by his own ideals.”
“You sound like that guy I talked to in the park.”
“Hmm?”
“There was a boy in the park, he gave me advice and told me to meet with this Maylu girl and now here I am.”
Kaze thought, until he realized something.”
“Joseph you sly bastard.” He joked quietly to himself.
I headed for the bar, at the time I assumed Amyl was crazy. She had attacked me without hesitation and then joked about it. This had to be a hoax, I knew it was. I entered only to find a disgruntled barman washing glasses.
“What can I get you sir?”
“Meh, I suppose I’ll just have coffee, you do have coffee right?”
“We have whatever you want.”
“That, is a little oddly specific.”
“This bar seems lucky, if you want milk there is always just enough for a full glass. If you are feeling down, the radio will cheer you up.”
“I noticed the radio pointing out obvious things, like that the red haired kid was a nerd and that I had finished eleven drinks.”
“I know, I have come to call this place ‘Coincidence café’.”
“It’s a bar…”
“I know, but alliteration only works with words that start the same and I felt like calling it that.”
“Do you own this place?”
“Yes, but nobody taxes me anymore and I never have any customers.”
“That is unfortunate.”
“Don’t I know it, I barely ever come here anymore. Today a friend of mine told me to come to work today and if I had a customer I owed her ten dollars.”
“And now you do.”
“Aye, today isn’t a great day. But one customer, yay.”
“You are depressed are you not?”
“I am.”
“Tell you what, I’ll give you twenty dollars if you tell me if any navis are in your server.” I handed him twenty dollars. He typed on the terminal beside the taps.
“Yep, there is one navi here.”
“Can I talk to him?”
“You already are.”
Another cliffhanger, serious this time. My life made sence before I worte this chapter, I made fun of Tales of SYmphonia in this one. |

Another chapter, hot off microsoft word. Chibi, I includued a little hint in here. Keep an eye out for it. I have this chapters disclaimer inside the chapter this time. Some of this chapters jokes are ill humored, but I think they are funny if only slightly.
Chapter 3: some times I’m near and not so far
Music has a way of making people happy, it also has a way of making people sad. Having even completely insane words thrown in with a beat has an amazing way to change peoples emotions. Music can also identify people, everybody has a different opinion, however slight. But certain kinds of music spawns groups of people, or the more extreme cults. People try to look like they listen to a certain kind of music and then everyone looks he same. Case and point, music is what holds our society together and music is what inevitably tears it apart.
Kupo’s thoughts: Music is the reason I act the way I do, music is the reason I feel the way I do, music is the reason that I’m Kupo. It varies for everyone but you can learn a lot about someone by listening to their music. By accepting what they listen to, you walk four meters in their shoes.
Peoples thoughts change from person to person, like mine to Kupo’s. Or some people might think that this is our personal opinion and music has no difference of what people listen to and we are a bunch of freaky crackpots.
Kupo’s thoughts: After a while of writing I came up with a character that kills the system. A character that inevitably is a rebel with a very firm cause. A character that cannot do anything with the body it has but desperately wishes it could. A character which makes me say ‘A character’ before every sentence.
Why are we doing this you ask? Maybe you didn’t ask but we’ll tell you anyway!
Kupo’s thoughts: Both to explain our opinions, and as a disclaimer. I don’t care if you think I am insane, these are my views. I take no responsibility for offending readers, I am strongly against what the American government thinks is right. I invented a character to express that so I don’t just rant about how George Bush is a moron. I did try to make it apply to the Rockman universe. Read on at your own risk. I mean it, I do not want to hear people blaming my opinions no matter how ridiculous they are.
We are what you would call ‘silent activists.’ Don’t kill us.
“Pass the salt?” Hermia asked as she shoved steak after steak into her small mouth. Maylu reluctantly did so.
“Don’t you think your going overboard?” Maylu asked quietly. It wouldn’t have mattered anyway nobody could hear over the loud chewing of Hermia’s evil steak eating. They were eating dinner at an all you can eat buffet called Microsoft.
Kupo’s thoughts: That’s a play on the restaurant from Shallow Hal.
Everyone stared at the two, Maylu hadn’t even touched her dinner.
“It’s all you can eat, and I can eat a lot more.”
“You really want to?”
“All you can fit in my stomach for twelve bucks is a good deal, VERY good.”
Chaud had stopped outside the building and stared in from the dusty window. He ran away abruptly when he heard somebody yell.
“ENZIE-CHAN!”
“I am sorry miss, but our policy strictly states. All you can eat until five shrimp before you explode.”
“Damn, two more and I would have beaten the system.” They left the restaurant.
“So what did you want to talk about?” Maylu asked, she was still a little freaked out by Hermia’s incredible stomach.
“This guy.” Hermia showed her PET to Malyu.
“Hi.” Kaze said with his eyes closed, he waved and sniggered quietly.
“I didn’t know you had a navi!” Maylu told Hermia.
“To be honest I didn’t either. But he really has been a friend to me.”
“Really? I just gave you the PET a while ago and you didn’t have one before.”
“I met him beforehand. Lysander was away, I talked to Kaze here.”
“Who is Lysander?”
“He was my only friend. Until I met you of course.”
“What was he like?”
“He was a little self-centered, but I could tell that inside all he wanted was my happiness. What he didn’t know is I was happy just being with him.” I heard this from Maylu quite a while later, I blushed horribly when I heard it.”
“I have a friend like that.”
“Really?”
“Yes, but how did you and Kaze meet?”
“Well, Lysander got a navi from some insane kid who abandoned his because it lost to this kid. He rewrote him and then won. After that he worked on a way to get money and neglected him, until he left. That is when I really met Kaze.”
“Wow.”
“Indeed, well we got along great…
Kupo’s thoughts: Stand back, we are going into flashback mode! These will happen several times so I will explain how they work, the person telling the story will narrate in past tense, unless it is not told from one character to the next. In such instances, I will take over and tell it in my view. That is just so you know that it is indeed I telling it, not Lysander.
‘Sooo, how you doing?’ I asked, I was indeed rather nervious to be talking to a virtual being, I thought these would be like virtual pets and I would just press a button and food would drop out of the sky. And press another button and a large shovel will shovel up all the shit.
‘Well, am I supposed to know you?’ Kaze asked, he had raised his eyebrow and now looked a bit like Spock.
‘Oh right, I am Hermia.’
‘And I am Kaze.’
‘Pleased to meet you.’
‘You certainly are shy, first time with a navi?’
‘Yep, in all honesty I expected you were all just gorillas without a mind.’
‘I assure you we are very sentient.’
‘But you are programmed by humans, people can alter your memory or change your personality.’
‘Your point?’
‘You are not really free are you?’
‘Free? I am not familiar with the term.’
‘You know, you don’t have rights.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘If you were a witness in a murder, they couldn’t use you as a witness because your testimony is useless because you are not real. That is why they have security cameras.’
‘How can they believe anyone is telling the truth?’
‘No, I mean- bad example. Ok if some kid wanted to change to a different one they would delete you, right?’
‘I suppose so.’
‘But what if you didn’t want to be deleted, it wouldn’t matter because you have no rights.’
‘Yes, but we only live to serve humans.’
‘But you shouldn’t have to, why should you fight one another for our benefit. One day someone else will learn this, then they will start an uprising.’
‘Interesting theory.’
‘Remember those days when our world was constantly at war, they told the soldiers: Fight for freedom. They fought to take freedom from the smaller.’
‘That is a global opinion, keyword OPINION.’
‘But it’s true, in the war on terror lead by George Bush, they said that they were liberating the people. But from what? They had this person who was asked. Who are we fighting against? She answered after a long pause, bad people. What the hell does that mean.’
‘What does this have to do with net navi rights?’
‘Your right, drop it. You want to prank call someone?’
‘Right on!’
‘Killer!’”
“You say you got off to a good start?”
“Heated discussions are always good for friendships.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Ok, I said I would include my thoughts in the form of a character. Which I will this is just a set up. If you think it contradicts he world of Rockman, just read on.
“You’re a what?!?!?!?” I yelled at the barman.
“A net navi.” The barman replied, he still seemed calm as he washed the same glass over and over again.
“How is that possible?”
“I found this PET one day, it was linked to the Interweb, inside it there was a strange chip with a mirror as the picture.” He pulled it out, it was identical to the one that Lan had given me. “It allows me to emerge into the real world, it also gave me the power to change shape.”
“Why do you run a bar? This is a scientific marvel!”
“Yes, but net navis have no rights. It wouldn’t be creditable, I cannot even talk to anyone living without becoming a human. I plan to fight it.”
“What?”
“I want net navi rights, I want a secure government, I want freedom.”
“You are completely right, we should be equals.”
“Why don’t you help me accomplish my goal.” He said happily. “You can operate me and show this technology to scientists, allow them to make net navis real.”
“I was here to meet you!” I yelled, I got up and threw my hand into the sky.
“No shit Sherlock.”
“But then, how can we convince them?”
“We’ll get supporters from solo navis and open minded humans.” He changed his shape, I assumed it was his real form, he was my size, wearing a helmet, a long yellow lock of hair draped down over one eye and he was entirely orange. On his hands he had symbols, checkered with an upside-down triangle. He was certainly unique, most net navis looked just like like weird humanoid robots, but he looked like a human with body armour. His blue eyes had a sentient glamour that lots of other navis were missing.
“You are so right.” I said I etched my mouth into a small smile. I closed my eyes for a second, but when I opened them, they were red. I grabbed the orange navi’s neck and held him in the air. He didn’t change his expression, he merely grabbed my wrist and squeezed. He ripped it away from his neck and punched me in the stomach, I immediately returned to normal and writhed in the corner.
“Navis don’t need to breath, fault number one. Navis are stronger than humans, fault number two. I could have killed you easily, fault number three. What the hell are you trying to pull?”
“I can’t help it.”
“Screw you.”
“No, I think I have turned into a paranoid schizophrenic.”
“Screw you both.”
“No I’m serious, I have temporary dark soul reversions. I am taken over by some unknown force.”
“Since when?”
“Since I crossfused, and they are getting stronger and harder to control.”
“Let me see the synchro chip.” I handed it to him. “This is a dark synchro chip.”
“What?”
“Someone tried to plague you with the darksoul virus.”
“Why?”
“To turn you into a slave to ‘the man’.”
“That doesn’t make sense.”
“How? This world is filled with speed freaks and assholes and all kinds of creeps.”
“You like Less than Jake?”
“It spawned my name, Skanker.”
“Skanker, well I hope we work well together.”
“I hope we can become more than business partners, as friends we can prove my- I mean our point better.”
“I truly believe you. Now let us go, we must start early.”
“First we must consult Amyl.”
“You know her?”
“Of course, not easily you forget an angel.”
“Right.” He entered a rather unusual PET and we walked to the stadium again.
“Are you sure she’ll be there?” I asked.
“Of course, Amyl doesn’t have anything on her mind other than the good of the world.” Skanker replied.
“And this is the greatest good the world has to offer her?”
“At the moment.”
“There are great workings that we were never meant to understand. If we did then the mystery of the universe wouldn’t exist and therefore never would the universe.”
“The meaning of life is to search for the meaning of life?”
“No the meaning of life is 42, that is just a paranoid truth. You can’t know both the answer and the question and you can’t know either.”
“Right…”
We arrived with time to spare, lots of it. Amyl anticipated Our coming and had been waiting there.
“Hello again Lysander.”
“Hello again bitch.”
“Lysander! That is no way to talk to an omnipotent being!” Skanker said angrily.
“Sorry mom.” Lysander joked.
“Anyway.” Skanker continued. “We have a problem.”
“I am surprised at you Skanky, you know that I see all.” Skanker mimicked the last part with his hand in the shape of a mouth.
Kupo’s thoughts: Yes I know, inapropriate. I’d say eat me, but I don’t want to be eaten… by the mods.
“But surely there must be something you can do.”
“There isn’t and stop calling me Shirley.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Blatant airplane rip-off!
“There is nothing you can do?” I asked angrily.
“Fine, I’ll help. But not for your sake Lysander.” Amyl responded.
“How, what will you do?” Skanker asked.
“I’ll fund your protest.” She stuck a sticky note on the back of my head. “This is the number for my bank account, say you’re a friend and that I gave this sticky note.”
“Fine, and by the way. These are called stick-em’s.”
“What do you mean you can’t accept it!” I yelled at the clerk.
“This, Amyl, person is dead. Her money was given to the government.”
“But she told me herself that I could have it!”
“How can you she is dead?”
“She gave me a stick-em!”
“This sticky note is worthless without her signature.”
“It’s a stick-em!”
“The official name is sticky note.”
“I know but it was recently renamed stick-em.”
“No, it wasn’t it is a sticky note.”
“THIS IS A STICK-EM!” I yelled at the top of my lungs to the clerk. I think someone heard me wrong because everyone in the room pulled out a gun. I frowned and said, “shit and airports.” |

Sorry about the lateness of this chapter but I have alot going on. Here is chapter 4, I am winding down to the end of the prolougue to the actual thing. This just kind of introduces the characters. Once again the ideas are all mine don't kill me because of it.
Chapter 4: Oh my god, they killed Joey! You bastards!
Kupo’s thoughts: Blatant south park rip-off!
Kupo, you are the one who writes the titles.
Kupo’s thoughts: Your point?
“Unfortunately you aren’t going to get bail.” Skanker said with a for-your-information kind of tone.
“You think I don’t know that? I killed 37 people in 14 years.” I said carelessly, I knew the plan was destined to fail. But getting into jail was an unexpected pleasure. I really was insane was I not? As I said this he opened his eyes really wide and pointed his shaking hand at me.
“Holy hell.”
“Observant aren’t you Skanky.”
“Eat me.”
“I can’t you, you are digital.”
“Bite my pixely ass.”
“Boy Skanky you really are rude, no wonder you are just a rebel without a cause. Navis seemed to have rights about three weeks ago.”
“Oh dear God you’re right.”
“What do you mean?”
“Three weeks or so ago navis were perfectly content with their living, including me!”
“I don’t understand.”
“I do.” Skanker started yelling for the guards. “Guards!”
They came running over, when they saw it was a navi calling they turned around.
“Huh? What was that about?” I asked.
“Proved my point a little too well.” Skanker responded
“What do you mean?”
“I wanted them to let me leave because I am merely a navi and did not do anything wrong. But the damage is severe, I am going to have to take a little risk.
“What kind of risk?”
“I need you to jack me in.”
“Wait a minute, wouldn’t they have thought of that?”
“Of course they did you moron, but I have a way to beat the system.”
“How?”
“Don’t say ‘jack in somethingman, power up.”
“Who said that?” A guard walked by.
Skanker pointed at Michael Jackson.
“No that’s ignorant!”
“Tell that to the chair you hippie!”
I sat there and watched the sun go down through the barred windows. I felt through my pocket for a Tic-Tac or scrap of food, but I only felt a few random chips. I pulled out one at random, it was the mirror chip. I stared at my reflection, I was a mess. No one is really happy without any friends to speak of. I had already decided that Skanker must have left me permanently. The cold loneliness of the cell combined with the pain of loss, it was a horrible combination. Then I remembered Skanker using the mirror chip and walking in the real world. Then I knew he definitely must have already known he could escape by using that. I clutched my heart as though it had suddenly corroded into nothingness.
“You have a visitor.” A guard rattled his long blunt stick across the bars. I looked gloomily up, half expecting the grim reaper to be standing waiting to accept my soul.
“Hello Lysander.” It was Cynthia, she was my Landlady. A truly kind woman with a heart of gold, she had tried to be my friend but I had realized then that I was just being a frigging jackass to her.
“I’m sorry Cynthia, I have no money for rent right now. You can take anything left in my room, there is bound to be something of value.” I said gloomily, as though I was reading a will aloud to her.
“That’s not why I came.” She said. I looked up at her honest eyes, she wasn’t an old woman but she looked it. Her lack of sustenance ran right past her stomach and drained her body of its youth.
“I’m not getting the chair you know, the lasts rights are irrelevant.”
“That’s not it either. I am here to pay your bail.” She smiled showing her teeth that were now yellow from all the tea she drank when she was lonely.
“Normally I would be happy but it’s too expensive for you and I have nothing in return.”
“I want to help you, you are only a child. You shouldn’t even be here your juvenile.”
“I’m a bad seed, a bad seed grows into a bad tree and that tree bears tainted fruit.”
“Purify the damn seed! Become a better person! You’re here for falsified robbery. It’s not true, you didn’t do anything wrong!”
“I did do something wrong, I should get a larger sentence. I let down a friend and now I paid for it.”
“If you won’t listen to reason, then you won’t listen to anything.” She walked away slowly.
I lay back down on the small uncomfortable bed and waited for someone to say my name. Night swept over the city and I lay there in the dark mumbling to myself.
“If I could just change that one thing. If I hadn’t done that then… screw it. All I can do is sit here and wait for some moron to come along and say my name.”
I could have sworn at that point I heard a whisper in a high voice that seemed as though it came from afar.
“Lysander…”
I sat up and looked around, my eyes didn’t adjust to the light very quickly.
“Lysander…”
I saw nothing, the darkness and other sleeping inmates distracted my greater senses.
“Lysander…”
This obstinate voice was getting louder and more aggravating.
“Lysander…”
I lost it, I lost all regard for the sleeping inmates or the guards.
“Stop saying my Goddamn name!” I yelled into the fray. The voice replied loudly.
“Shut up Lysander!” I then saw who it was, when I saw it I knew I had finally lost it. It was a giant butterfly, that was all I could discern.
“OK Mr. Butterfly, what is this? Some kind of new form of Magic Mushroom?” I seemed a little too rational too be drugged but no one really knows what the heck is going on when your flying with the smiling airplanes.
“I’m a chick moron, and Magic Mushroom is illegal in forty eight states and Europe. But in Canada you can’t turn a corner without encountering Mario.
“It’sa me, very stoned! AH HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA!”
“What the hell are you Ms. Butterfly, Gravy induced hallucination? BRING ON THE PUDDING!”
“What the hell are you? I’m just here to get you out of here.”
“Well you’re doing a great job Ms. Martin Van Burin!”
“Down with the cotton Gin!”
“Is he stoned? Or is he always like this?”
“It’s always hard to tell… I’m kidding.” Said a second voice, this one was about the same size only humanoid.
“I object your Bourne supremacy! Eat my cargo pants dude!” I was growing impatient, pretending to be stoned isn’t as easy as you would think.
“Lysander, what are you talking about?” I recognized this voice, it was Skanker he was hiding behind the others and now stood two humanoids and a butterfly.
“Well Skanky nice of you to drop by, maybe you can see this person and their pet butterfly out.”
“This is dubbed dude, we say PET.”
“Same difference.”
“No it isn’t.”
“It is if you ask RickyBob.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Long story, don’t bother asking.
“Lysander shut up and let us get you out of here.” Skanker grabbed a few bars and ripped them out. We ran out and to the park which was still lit dimly with streetlamps.
Somehow Skanker no longer seemed like a navi. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a plaid shirt that wasn’t tucked in and a checkered belt. He still had the symbol on his hand, it was embroidered on bicycle glove. He still had a toque on so you still could not see the top of his head.
“Skanker, why do you look so…” I started.
“Human? Don’t you remember the mirror chip’s ability to let the user change shape? I used it to make a human body.” He replied. I wasn’t listening to him, I stared blankly at the butterfly. It was actually more like a person in body armor with wings and antenna.
“Umm, hello.” It said in a false cheeriness.
“Who, what, how are you?” I stuttered.
“Fine thanks. And you?”
“Alive and kicking, well back on topic. What are you?”
“I’m Monarch, butterfly type navi.” It said boldly. From what I have deduced since then, it was female.
“And I’m her operator, Eliza Cancer at your service.” The other figure was a girl who seemed about my age, she was dressed enirely in black, fishnets along her arms and legs and a black skirt. But to top it off she had a ripped Oasis T-Shirt and oddly placed makeup. She extended her hand.
“Pleased to meet you.” I said curtiously, I grabbed her hand and shook it. “Cancer?”
“Actually I’m Gemini.” She said without hesitation as though she had answered this question before.
“It was my plan to fetch them, but halfway through I remembered the mirror chip and how we could have escaped then and there.” Skanker rushed out of his mouth.
“But I have them here.” I held them out. “How did you use it?”
“First I used one of hers and second… HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET A SECOND!?!?!?!?”
“Lan threw it at me when I won the match against him.”
“But now four of them exist, this is worse then I thought.”
“That’s what I was about to say.” A figure was lying on a gravestone.
“Huh?” I said quickly.
“If four of them are found it means at least six of them must exist.” The figure said.
“How do you know this?” I asked.
He pointed at the name on the grave.
“Joseph Garabaldi.” I read aloud. “This is the grave that Maylu girl always comes to, did you know him?”
“I still do.” He said quietly.
“But he is dead.” Eliza interrupted.
“True but it’s not as though the dead don’t exist when they die.”
“And you know this how?” Monarch said in copycat manner.
“You know a lot of things when you are dead.”
“You know a dead guy?”
“I know lots of dead guys, hey remember that guy who sold Denmark to that ice-cream company?”
“Sure he was all over the news.”
“He was the one that changed the name of the capital city to Copenhagendaaz.”
“And you know this how?”
“He told me.”
“So if you do know dead guys then who are you?” Monarch crossed her arms and flew up to the guy. He didn’t flinch, he just dropped his hand again and pointed at the name. |

It may have taken a while, but here is the conclusion to the prologue. Now the real thing starts, I'll do it in installments. It'll be like in those video games and you go at it mission after mission.
Chapter 5: the enlightenment of the chosen few
Kupo’s thoughts: Now is the time when I introduce the plot twist and how the end will come. However this is a lot more complicated if you didn’t read my last fic. All of my crazy theories about life, the universe and everything were explained in relative detail. I suppose you could just read on but it would be easier on your brain if you read my last fic.
“I can’t believe that.” Maylu was practically screaming in Hermia’s ear. She had just learned of Hermia’s misadventures with moi.
“Well I’m afraid it’s the stone cold truth.” Hermia lapped up the last remnants of her tea. She had not felt as horrible as she did now ever since she last time she had seen me.
“That’s impossible, you guys might have been closer then me and Lan. Sense, this does not make, hmm, hmm.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Lost the clones I did, hmm, hmm. Use the forks!
“Might? God Damnit! That guy was the only person I ever cared about, I didn’t care that he treated me like shit. You know what, I’m gonna go find him.”
“No you wont.” A girl stepped in her way, a small bit taller than she did, but she didn’t look like the violent type.
“Who the crap are you!” Hermia demanded.
“Amyl, but you need not know my last name.” Amyl responded, Maylu stared at her as though she had seen a ghost, the weird thing was, she had.
“I know you!” She blurted out with a stiff finger in Amyl’s direction. This was yet another café, so naturally the surrounding people stared.
“I should say you do.” Amyl responded without alarm or hesitation. She turned her head to Hermia again. “Lysander will be dead before you’ll have a chance to get close, and when you do, you’ll die too.”
“I don’t damn well care!” Hermia screamed.
“Well he does, and isn’t that the whole reason you wanted to go after him?”
Hermia sat back down. Amyl pulled up a third seat.
“How do you know this?” Hermia asked, her voice slightly quieter.
“You get to know a lot of things when you’re dead.” Amyl sipped tea that had appeared out of nowhere.
“You’re dead?” Maylu asked in disbelief.
“Oh yes, if you don’t believe me then look over there.” She pointed to the guy with a metal arm and leg drinking espresso with a large suit of armour. “Or there.” She pointed at the jedi battling the sith.
“Mind explaining?”
“Not at all. You see, this guy stopped the universes from combining, then he erased his entire universe from existence and that solved everything, except for one thing.”
“What?” Maylu had no idea what the hell Amyl was talking about, even though she had lived through this.
“Universes can’t be created when two are conjoined and that’s why only one of him existed. But something happened, one was created, and in that universe another device was activated.”
“What kind?” Maylu asked.
“An Erasure device.” At the mention of the word Maylu fell to the ground, it buzzed through her head as though she was attached to a hive mind all chanting the same thing. Hermia ignored Maylu’s screams of pain and agony.
“You were saying.” Hermia said quietly.
“Right.” Amyl cleared her throat and looked away from Maylu’s writhing form. “Well it was this world that was created and in it, the other device distorted the first one. Like in that episode of voyager when those guys were erasing things ad then voyager made a sheild that defended them from it and it distorted the ray. Well now the universes are aligning again with this as the center point.
“Wow.” Hermia said in awe.
“Uh huh.”
“You know what?” Hermia asked.
“What?”
“I have no idea what you just said.” I said irritably.
“You’ll get it eventually.” Joey said condesendingly.
“So, what do you want us to do about it?” Eliza asked with a slight disbelieving smirk.
“I want you to fix it, by going to a certain universe which I will show you. Then you will find what doesn’t belong, then you will escape before too much damage is afflicted.” Joey replied sensing the look of disbelief and attempting to sound more serious to better gauge her reaction.
“You know what I think?” Eliza said quickly.
“What?” Joey crossed his arms.
“I think your making this up.” Hermia said firmly.
“It’s rather elaborate for a lie.”
“Do I smell smoke?” Hermia sniffed the air. “Oh yeah, IT’S YOUR PANTS!”
“Smart one Hermia, maybe we should pair you with a stupider one, like Lysander.”
“Lysander isn’t stupid!” Hermia yelled. Her anger level rising dramatically.
“How do you know that? Your not his friend, he doesn’t care about you!” Amyl returned with an impressive display of intimidation.
“I THINK HE DOES!” Hermia yelled. Maylu merely shrunk into a corner.
“Hermia, wake up and smell the coffee scented air freshener.”
“I’m wide awake, how about you? RISE AND SHINE, I MADE COOKIES FOR DARTH VADER DUMBASS!”
“I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” The manager walked up to them.
“If you’re so afraid then don’t ask.” Amyl retorted smartly.
“LEAVE!”
“No thank you.”
“It’s not an option.”
“We have to leave sometime you know.”
“I meant you have to leave.”
“I good thing you don’t mean it now.”
“I DO!”
“What’s the emergency?”
“You are disrupting the peace!”
“Well if that’s such an emergency then you might as well throw yourself out look around.” The entire room was staring at him and whispering amongst themselves.
“Your drinks are on me.” He said cheerfully.
“Good thing too, I didn’t bring my wallet.” Amyl laughed.
“Where do we go first?” Monarch asked.
“I’ll tell you that, but first assume human form.” Monarch slapped her head as though to say ‘Damn, I forgot.’
She retracted her wings and antenna, she grew a plaid skirt, shoulder lenth blonde hair and a white hoody with the words ‘hello there’ on it in cheery lettering.
“Well, how do I look?” Monarch asked desperately.
“You should be wearing something black.” Eliza surveyed monarch with disgusted eyes.
“You should be wearing something stupid.” Monarch retorted angrily.
“She already is.” Skanker chuckled.
“Shut it, or I will curse you and your children and your children’s children and their children’s children.” Eliza threatened.
“What about my children’s children’s children?” Skanker responded.
“Damn.”
“Her if I threw holy water on you, would you melt like the witch in the wizard of Oz?” I asked.
“Depends on the quantity.”
“How much? A barrel.”
“A quart.”
“So then if I stick a quarter in you will you do something evil?” Skanker asked, he didn’t wait for a response he shoved a quarter in her mouth. She spat it out and punched him in the stomach.
“Join the darkside potluck on Saturday, AND BRING COOKIES!”
“Settle down crew, you are gonna have to invade a familiar world to me at least.” Joey said.
“Which one?” Monarch asked.
“Star Trek: The Next Generation.” He said, he moved into a prestigious position as he said this.
“Isn’t that a television show?” I asked.
“Certain universes have remnants of others in them, this one you can actually watch on television.”
“How do we get there.” Eliza asked. I could tell she wasn’t quite convinced.
“Like this.” He stamped down one foot, a portal grew out of the ground below him. Everyone stared at it, he pushed them in. I stared at it, slowly surveying it. Joey stared at me impatiently. I jumped in.
well I start it next time with the next generation installment. |

Really sorry about this taking so long but I have installment one, kind of open ended ending to it, but tell me what you think mkay?
rated PG 13 for mild language and mature content (nothing sexual though).
Delta universe, Delta quadrant
As told by Skanker
Kupo’s thoughts: You can say whatever you want about my faithfulness to the geniuses who worked on this amazing series but I tried my best and this is what I got.
“Sir we are receiving a hail from the ship.” Data said to Picard, his mechanical fingers typed faster then anyone else could comprehend, it’s possible he was playing a game of checkers with the computer while he opened the channel.
“On screen.” Picard nodded to Data whom opened the viewscreen. “This is Captain Jean Luc Picard of the Federation Star Ship Enterprise.”
“Hello Captain Jean Luc Picard of the Star Ship Enterprise.” Said the person on the receiving end. “This is captain Garabaldi of the Star Ship Marvin.”
“I have never heard of such a young captain.” Picard said suspiciously. He had good reason, the captain was none other than Joey, and this time he was a physical being.
“We have hit an… unexpected problem. Maybe we could talk to you in person.” Joey suggested, Lysander stifled a laugh from his tactical station.
“Agreed. Picard out.” He closed the viewscreen and retreated to his ready room. He was surprised to see Joey already there.
“Captain, we have hit a snag.” He said, he propped his legs on the chair.
“What kind of snag?” Picard replicated a cup of tea, Earl Grey, hot.
“Have you ever heard of the de- I mean Youkai?” Joey corrected himself.
“No I’m afraid not.” Picard eyed Joey’s feet, he put them down.
“Well one of these beings has infiltrated this region of space, it’s highly dangerous.”
“What does this have to do with you being young?”
“Absolutely nothing, that’s just a fact of life. But don’t fret I’m fully capable.” Joey saw Picards skeptical look.
“Now this ‘Youkai’ what kind of threat does it pose?”
“Well, if it falls in with the wrong crowd, let’s say Firengi, things could get hairy.”
“Looking for a profit doesn’t seem like too big a problem.”
“No, it’s a gullible and stupid pre-warp society and it doesn’t belong here.”
“Then if we don’t do something the prime directive will be broken.” Picard scratched his chin.
“It’s too late for that. But we can salvage what’s left.” Joey pulled out his tricorder and scanned Picard.
“What are you doing?”
“Checking to make sure you’re the real thing.”
“What do you mean?”
“These Youkai pose a bigger threat then we expected, some are shape shifters, some have catlike reflexes and so on. They are a great physical threat.”
“How did they get into space?”
“We don’t know, but we must act now.” Picard believed Joey, not because of his compeling speech, but because Picard himself was once a child captain and he knew how hard it was to get the crew to accept him.
“I’m not sure why but I think there is something your not telling me.”
“Indeed there is, this Youkai, there is more then one.”
“How many?”
“At least six, and as many as seven thousand.”
“That’s a very large gap in your estimate.”
“I’d say that it’d fit the crew of about one Borg sphere.”
“What do the Borg have to do with this?”
“It’s a metaphor captain.”
At that moment Eliza jumped into the room.
“Sir, we have located a signal.” She said hurriedly.
“Shikon no tama?” Joey asked.
“Possibly.”
“Where is it coming from?”
“That’s the kicker.” Eliza brought him to a terminal where he saw the coordinates.
“The Delta quadrant?” Joey remarked aloud. I stood behind him, my uniform was rather uncomfortable.
Kupo’s thoughts: That’s from in the first season when the fabric gave certain actors back problems.
“How do we know that this is a Shikon no tama signal and not some crazy Vulcan relic?” I asked.
“Vulcan relics don’t emit takion radiation.” Joey didn’t look at me, but Lysander shrugged. The USS Marvin was a nice ship but I might have preferred galaxy or defiant class. I had a lot of time to watch TV when running a broken bar.
“I bet some do.” Monarch said from behind me, everybody stared at her.
I met with Picard the next day and told him what I had found and where I needed to go.
“How will you get there?” He asked.
“The captain is resourceful.” I said knowledgeably. “He probably already has a plan for getting back.”
“I desperately hope so, but then why did you meet with us?”
“Better our understanding of life for a Star Fleet officer.”
“How long have you been captain?”
“Three days.” I walked out the door, my life was drastically altered in the past few days but even more then normal. You try becoming the first officer on a federation Star Ship with the only experience you have being a few wasted hours in front of a TV with a bag of kettle corn. Joey was very adept at playing the part, he had even hid the PETs inside tricorders so we could secretly communicate. But I knew some of the dangers of this world, I was not prepared for any of this. Monarch wasn’t either, she had never watched the show and so she just sat there and pretended to tap violently on her panel. Eliza secretly had watched the original series and so she had taken communication satation because that character-
Kupo’s thoughts: Well Skanky I’m not familiar with giving you critiques but if you forgot her name then ask me, I be very big Trekker.
Fine, then what’s her name?
Kupo’s thoughts: I don’t know.
Well that character was Eliza’s idol, but whoever mentions that gets glued to the wall with industrial strength adhesive. For a goth you find not much in the way of friendship but she did have attachments to certain members of the crew. She appreciated my openness to express my opinion, Monarch was the navi who saved her life she’ll tell you the story herself in Kupo’s next fic so be patient. But she said nothing about Lysander, from what I’ve been able to find out she either has a crush on him or despises him to the fullest extent. But for now, I’ll tell about the miraculous entry into the Delta quadrant… or not.
“Does this uniform make my ass look big?” Hermia stared at her prosterior in a conveniently placed mirror; she had to keep turning to keep the view.
“This fiber could make anyone’s ass swell up to the size of a six dollar ham.” Amyl sat down on her rather uncomfortable Captain’s chair, she wondered why the ships she materialized were always cramped.
“Couldn’t you have picked a better name for the ship then the ‘Pompous Mango’?” Maylu disliked every aspect of the ship. But what really pushed Lan’s buttons was the ship’s origin.
“And couldn’t we have a Federation Star ship rather then a Klingon Bird of prey?”
“The only movie I watched was the voyage home, oh and don’t go into the transporter room.” Amyl replied.
“Why?”
“If you saw the movie then all I need to tell you is they’re a little irritable right now.”
“Oh.” Lan said. “I see.”
“Well let us go to Romulus!” Maylu yelled.
“Why?” Lan asked.
“We detected a large amount of Shikon no tama there. I’d say it deserves a look.” Amyl said, she laid told Lan how to relay coordinates and they were off.
“Well I’d say your idea is completely stupid and impossible, but so is everything else in this show. I like it.” Lysander said.
“Good, now what are we going to do again?” Monarch asked.
“We are going to transport the entire ship there with the magic of transporter technology. Now that is the last time I explain it Monarch.” Joey said irritably.
“Good, now what are we going to do again?” Monarch asked again. Nobody answered her.
“So to lighten the load we are going to empty our torpedo banks.” Lysander said.
“How are we gonna do that?” Eliza asked.
“Easy, Skank!” He opened video feed to the bridge. “Fire aft torpedo banks one through eighteen, then fire front banks one through twelve.” He snapped his fingers. I fired everything we had into the reached of space in a full spread.
“YOU MORON LYSANDER!” Joey yelled, I saw why. Fourteen Romulan WarBirds decloaked from the impact and charged weapons. “ACTIVATE THE PHOTONIC CANNON!”
The EMH program activated itself and walked to the captain’s chair, from the astrometrics lab we watched video feed of his fire a very large beam at one of the ships, it blew it to pieces. The other vessels retreated.
“Where did you come up with that?” I walked over to the camera and shoved my face in it.
“That was The Doctor’s idea.” He pointed to the EMH program who nodded.
“Please state the nature of the medical emergency.” He said to me.
“There is no emergency.” I replied.
“No emergency? Then don’t activate me.”
“I didn’t.”
“Well someone did.”
“That was me!” Joey yelled.
“Why did you?”
“I wanted you to become a member of the crew.”
“Seen too much Voyager have you?” The doctor deactivated himself.
“Damn rude computer program.” Eliza commented.
“I may be offline but I’m not deaf.” The captain yelled back.
Joey sighed, he left the astrometrics lab and retreated to the nearest cafeteria.
“Computer, Banana cream pie with whipped topping.” He said half expecting no one to answer. The delicious pastry materialized in front of him. He felt his eye, the scar was no longer there. He parted his hair so you could see them both. Death was not as wonderful as he assumed, an eternity of unhappiness, sameness. The thoughts were horrendously overwhelming. But then he saw Amyl’s face in his head again, but it was quickly replaced by a voice.
“It’s your fault.” It said, it was silent to the empty room around him. Without a crew the ship was pointlessly barren. He wondered if it was really worth it, the world of the living was the only world worth living in, but he didn’t care about the people who would eventually die if he did nothing.
“You are the reason everyone will die.” The voice taunted him, but he ignored it. “You designed the device and it looks like it failed. Now everyone will hate you forever.”
“Shut up.” He said quietly.
“No, because I’m part of you. THE RATIONAL PART!” The voice got louder.
“Shut up!” Fell to the ground, his pie fell to the ground and was instantly cleaned by the computer.
“MAKE ME!”
“Joey!” I ran to him and pulled him up.
The voice silenced.
“Skanker, I’m not ready, I’m not ready to be dead.” He said quietly.
“Your not dead anymore, your our captain and a very competent one at that.
“I disagree.” Data walked into the room, even though he did not have any emotion his entrance was still very emotionally impacting. “Your crew morale is sub par, you don’t think about what to do in battle you end up relying on brute force, and you are a paranoid schizophrenic.”
“And you were spying, that is not standard procedure.”
“Captain Picard… encouraged… me to take action.” Data had the slightest hint of a grin on his face. Joey stared at it with disbelief; he grabbed his phaser and destroyed Data’s com badge. Data walked forward.
“Data, I encourage you to turn around.” Eliza stood behind him, she shoved a needle in the back of his neck and his systems shut off.
“Lan, be a good boy and fetch Maylu so we can begin the operation.” Lan nodded and skipped off out of the room. Amyl stood over the body of the Youkai, the Tama shard was lodged in his arm.
“Wench, I will destroy you!” The Youkai screamed.
“Your threats are as hollow as Lan’s head Naraku.” Amyl put on her surgical mask, Naraku could not move and furthermore he could not get past the force field even if he could.
“Thank you for ridding us of this evil de-” The Romulan started.
“Uh, uh. Don’t say the D-word.” Maylu replied.
“Very well, without Naraku we can take over the universe in peace.”
“Well have fun!” Maylu waved as they closed the channel.
“Maylu, Amyl needs your help with the patient.” Lan panted.
“Why can we not kill it and then take the shards from his lifeless body. He is annoying as hell.”
“She said we have to return him to his world as we found him, but we use the jewel to send them all back and then everything will normalize.” Maylu breathed out heavily.
“Scalpal.” Amyl said simply, Lan handed her a scalpel.
“Saw.” Lan handed Maylu a saw.
“Plasma Welder.” Lan handed Amyl a large instrument. “I said plasma welder not particle fuser!” Lan corrected his error.
“Kokiri Sword.”
“Lassie’s favorite lamp.”
“Batman’s tweezers.”
“Johnny Depp’s severed hand.”
“Done.” Amyl ripped off her surgical mask and Lan dropped the numerous objects in his hands. Amyl held up a bloody sphere or most of it. A large quadrant was missing, Amyl knew exactly where it was.
“Lan, set a course for the nearest wormhole, maximum warp.”
“This is Lieutenant Lysander Thomas of the Star Ship Marvin. We require a small amount of assistance.” Lysander spoke into the view screen, I was tending to Joey and Eliza was working her magic on the now incapacitated Data. Monarch wasn’t of much help to anyone.
“How so?” The other voice was Captain Picard. He seemed to act rather casual, or as casual as he gets.
“The android on board who attempted to harm several crewmen.”
“Android? The only android around here is Data and I sent him to investigate…” He stopped, he had realized his fault and had no current way to resolve it.
“Us, he is now under our custody we advise you head on back to Earth to meet your judgement, we have organized a court martial.” Lysander shut off the com system, there was no court martial, it was an elaborate plan to make Picard think that he was in hot water. He would find an easy way to bail out of it and it would take a few days in which we would escape to the Delta quadrant.
“Hey Lysander!” Eliza bellowed at him through his com badge.
“What is it?” He replied.
“You had better see it, meet me in engineering.”
Lysander walked into the turbolift.
“Deck eight.” He said gloomily, he didn’t understand what was going on or how it had happened.
“Thank God.” Eliza looked up from the inanimate body of Data. His head panel was opened and Lysander could see even from a distance, what had become of this poor android.
“This is impossible, how did this happen?” Lysander asked.
“When everything went poof blah, blah, blah… another trigger, this time in this world. Data is different then we know him, I don’t know if I can fix him.”
“I don’t think it’s possible, but we could both work on it.” Lysander suggested. “To save time.”
“…Agreed.” Eliza said after a few seconds of thoughts. Lysander sat down beside her and attempted to revert what was warped to what he assumed Data was supposed to be. Eliza corrected him over and over again, somehow she had a great deal of technological expertise.
“No that’s a memory node, if you fuse that with the far left neural subroutine he could end up gaining memories from seven years ago and then gain what’s going on now in seven years.” Eliza wasn’t being harsh, Lysander did not know her very well so he didn’t judge her.
“Well what about connecting the neural pathways in a V shape and put the one cord in the central processor?” Lysander suggested.
“Then all of his higher functions would be the same feeling, if he saw something he would taste smell and feel it also.”
“This is confusing.”
“I know, I don’t understand a lot of things that go on in this world. But from being here I can now understand aspects of our world that before I didn’t notice.”
“Such as?”
“Crossfusion is logically and physically impossible.”
“That’s the most intelligent thing anyone has ever said to me in the last few months.”
“Thanks, but that wasn’t my intention.”
“What do you mean?”
“You don’t know me well enough, you wouldn’t understand.”
“Try me.”
“Will you be mature.”
“I’ll behave.”
“Alright then, I have always been excluded and because I was I didn’t know much about what happened in the world I wasn’t part of. Now that I’m away from my standard place I understand what it is.”
“I can’t say I know what you mean.”
“I can’t understand why you think you should, because I was the excluded one I changed my lifestyle, now people make fun of me because of my lifestyle change.”
“That’s like the plot to the new Harry Potter book.”
“How so?”
“Twisted!”
“Now your just being weird, come on can you stay still and shut up for a few seconds.” Eliza packed up and walked out.
“Huh, what just happened?” Lysander asked to no one.
“I was seconds away from giving you a mutually contented friendly hug dumass! I’d say something else but I don’t want to offend our viewers” Eliza screeched from another room.
Greetings if you have found what I just wrote unpleasant or improper I suggest you go to hell, that is all.
Kupo’s thoughts: I don’t know this guy.
“Joey, do you feel well enough to come back to command?” I asked as Joey struggled into his chair.
“That’s captain Joey to you bub!” I could tell he was somehow hammered, but purposefully intoxicating yourself on a federation starship seemed a little irregular for his level of fanbase.
“Maybe you should go back to sickbay and let the EMH handle this.” I suggested, but instead of waiting for a response I pushed his com badge and he was instantly transported to sickbay. I took over command and gracefully prepared our final preparations for transportation.
“But I have a fear of transporters!”
“Shut up Barkley!”
After several hours of final preparation they were ready to begin.
“Now, FIRE THE ENGINES!” Joey yelled.
“WHAT ENGINES? WE’RE TRANSPORTING NOT FLYING!” I yelled back.
“Shut up Skanker, or I’ll hit you so hard you’ll be yelling ‘Bad day’ from here to doomsday.”
Kupo’s thoughts: I’m guessing you didn’t get that, well the band REM has a song called bad day and incidentally they are also REM which in scientific terms stands for rapid eye movement and that is the dreaming stage of sleep. Rather complicated joke but I think it was worth it.
Shut up you moron!
Kupo’s thoughts: No you shut up!
“Engage!” Joey yelled, we were thrown against the wall and everyone on the bridge was knocked out. All except Monarch.
She stood up, the bridge was a mess and everyone lay askew across the ground. On the viewscreen she saw something that was rather strange, a hole, but the room was pressurized. She looked through it to see a group of strange looking people. One child with a Katana in his scabbard jumped through it and saw Monarch.
“Hi there, I’m Yoh!” |

Ok first I have another loooooong installment but since the only person who ever posted here is gone I would appreciate anyone at all to say something. This chapter is very long and complicated and I no longer have a BETA reader so I'm a little behind on grammer and plotholes.
This chapter is a little more mature in nature even though there is less swearing, there is clones, a glowing ship, the return of a lesser known character, a borg cube, Inuyasha AKA 7 of six (joke I made up about how many there are of the borg), another evil guy whose Identity is secret, and a bunch of characters from an anime show you may recognize.
Fate: The lesser acknowledged factor
As told by Eliza Cancer
“Wait, aren’t you that weird guy on that show who likes to slash things and sleep.” Monarch asked, but it seemed rather useless because he was asleep. “Surprise, surprise.”
“Yo, wassup?” Joey seemed to be remaining consciousness now, but all that came out of his mouth was incessant babble but I have learned to expect that from any guy who wakes up on the bridge if a star ship with a sleeping shaman leaning against your viewscreen.
“You stole that you snake! That’s copyright infringement you know!” A large man with insane looking black hair walked into the room after hearing Joey’s odd comment.
“Come on Rio go easy on them, I’m sure that they meant no harm.” A third boy walked into it, this one had blue hair and was carrying a snowboard, he seemed to be carrying it everywhere. I mean come on guy it’s thirty degrees outside!
“That’s no excuse, I could sue!” Rio yelled.
“Huh?” Joey got up completely and stumbled over to the blue haired kid. “I know you, you’re that guy with the pixie ghost from Shaman King!” Joey yelled at him.
The guy whacked him on the head with his snowboard.
“And you are?”
“Captain Joseph Garabaldi of the Federation Star Ship Marvin.”
“Why don’t you come out and have some tea while you explain this.”
“I won’t enjoy it.”
The two of them left Monarch trailed behind with Yoh in her arms. She transformed herself back into her casual human clothes as she did.
I woke up a few hours after they left and gathered myself; Skanker was no where at the moment but Lysander lay beside me half-covered in rubble. He was in a rather odd position for someone who got knocked against a wall, but from what I could discern he had jumped to grab something as the crash happened.
I shook him awake.
“Lysander! LYSANDER!” I yelled at him whilst shaking his motionless body. The possibility of him being dead increased dramatically. I desperately hoped he wasn’t but I felt no pulse.
Suddenly he jumped up and without opening his eyes he hugged me very tightly.
“I’ll protect you…” He muttered into my ear, I hardly saw the reason but I accepted it gracefully. “I’m… sorry…”
I closed my eyes, I tried to focus on his words but they seemed unplacable as though he was referring to someone else.
“Please forgive me… Hermia…” He released me, with slight disappointment I laid him down on the captains chair, I ran to my quarters to change into my normal attire. But then I wondered just where in the Shaman King universe were we? A large ship appearing out of nowhere wouldn’t go unnoticed. I walked out of the viewscreen and turned around to face the ship, the sheer size of it dwarfed the large trail of light it sat on. That was when I realized something.
“Mr. Writer, I am going to kill you.”
I walked for a few minutes before I came upon a small primitive city, I walked into the only building with a light on and stepped into the basement where Joey and the others were.
“And then I said to ‘em, that’s no kindergartner, that’s my wife!” Joey said, instead of drinking tea they were playing a game of poker.
Kupo’s thoughts: Now ain’t that a classic, I doubt any of you remember that one but it’s an ongoing joke that I just remembered just now.
“Joseph do you have any idea what happened to us?” I demanded!
“Lighten up!” he yelled back. All of the others sitting at the table looked at me, I recognized a few of them. Monarch, Rio, Yoh, Trey, Joco, Anna, Lycerg, and Len sat along a round table with cards in their hands and poker on their faces.
Kupo’s thoughts: Sorry about using the dub names and such but I kind of had to, I only ever got a chance to watch the one on the fox box. Oh and secondly it’s poker face.
I know, I know, anyway I was pretty pissed off because there was an intrepid class starship sitting in the king of spirits like Billy sits in mud puddles in that one episode of ‘The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy’.
Kupo’s thoughts: I knew you would like that show if you gave it a chance.
I’ll admit to that as soon as you admit you like that Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi show.
Kupo’s thoughts: I just like it is all…
Well, as I was saying, the king of spirits was now fused with Marvin and we had no hope of getting back to the Star Trek universe without dragging him back with us.
“Joey, I have one question for you.” I said as calmly as possible.
“What’s that?” he said, he seemed rather dizzy and disorientated but I kept talking anyway.
“The king of spirits is fused with Marvin, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT!” I yelled at him, that woke him up.
“Huh? The King of Marvin is fused with my sandwich?” I dulled my emotions one level.
“No, the king of spirits is fused with the damn ship!”
“What ship?”
“Marvin!” I yelled.
“You don’t have to yell, I’m right here, not that you care.” Marvin said from his seat in a place I had not noticed.
“Shut up!” I yelled at him.
“I wont like it.” He uttered before shutting down.
“Well,” Monarch rose up from her seat, to everyone’s surprise her wings had sprouted from her back. She hadn’t noticed but everyone else did. “I think that all we have to do is fins out what happened to us, and maybe then we can reverse the process in which we got here.”
“W-w-wings!” Trey stuttered.
“Uh, pervert.” Monarch walked out.
I assumed that she could not hold her human form for as long as we had assumed.
Everyone stared at me. I looked around shrugged my shoulders and said.
“She’s my guardian ghost.”
“Lysander!” I shook him violently, he woke up with a start.
“What happened?” He rubbed his head and looked around.
“We crashed into the Shaman King world, now Marvin is fused with the king of spirits.”
“The King of Marvin is fused with my sandwich!” He yelled into nowhere. I lowered my emotion level another peg.
“When was the last time you saw Skanker?”
“When we were knocked out I saw him hit the tactical station right before I passed out.” Lysander got his senses back a lot faster then Joey did.
“Great.” I said sarcastically, I grabbed him and dragged him outside.
“Last chance Yoh, join me.” It was Zeke, he stood there with his hand outstretched to Yoh who held his sword which glowed blue with Amidamaru’s spirit.
“No! How many times must I say this?”
“At least twice.”
“Fine, no and no.”
“Then I must kill you.” Zeke retracted his hand and brandished his flaming hand.
I stood outside of the ship where they both stood, all the others watched in horror. I wasn't really sure but I think Rio had a foam finger with Yoh’s name on it.
“Go ahead and try.” Yoh said confidently. “Hey am I the only one getting tired of these intelligent taunts?”
“Yeah those things are just weird. But whatever time to get back to killing you.”
“Good luck getting me while I’m down here.”
“Under where?”
“Ha! I made you say underwear.”
“Ha ha I guess you did.” A freakishly large sweatdrop fell down from the back of my neck. “Now for your death.”
“I think not.” A voice from overhead said. Zeke had just the right amount of time to defend himself from the large yellow circular shockwave flying down on him, it pushed down had enough to dig him up to his ankles before he destroyed it.
“Show yourself!” Zeke yelled into the darkness.
“Very well.” The sound was moving, the source moved through the air and hit Zeke in the right shoulder. He flew into the forest knocking over a few trees. The figure stopped there and everyone shifted their eyes to it.
“Skanker!” I yelled out to him. Indeed it was, but he was back in his navi form. He scratched the back of his head and smiled. But then another figure going to fast to notice hit him in the side and pushed him into a pillar. This figure was Skanker also.
From the ground, Lysander pulled a tricorder from his pocket. He pushed a button and the holographic image keeping the PET inside undetected released.
The other Skanker hurriedly rushed a sentence.
“I’m the real Skanker, he’s just a decoy, a trick, a spy!”
The other Skanker pulled his hands together and threw another shockwave at him. He flew back into a tree.
“He’s trying to confuse you!” Skanker yelled at us.
Kupo’s thoughts: Confusion is my middle name.
James is your middle name.
Kupo’s thoughts: Shut your non-existent mouth!
The other Skanker rushed at the first and punched him, but the first Skanker ducked and the other one flipped over him and managed to keep on his feet. But the first Skanker elbowed him in the back as he landed and he fell to the ground. The one on the ground threw a shockwave at the one standing up and he flew backwards. He landed on his feet and he watched the other get up. Both put their hands together to build up energy for a shockwave.
Lysander took this as an opportunity and loaded a rockcube battlechip. It landed in front of the first Skanker and before either of them had time to stop their attacks they had shot into the rockcube and the soundwaves resonating from the impact caused the first Skanker to fly into the other side of the forest.
“Lysander, how did you know?” I asked.
“I figured Skanker’s attacks were sound based and so they would reflect off a rockcube and the rockcube always ends up in front of the navi I loaded it to so the fake one is bye bye.” I felt a hole grow in his logic.
“But the one that was hit was the one who received the battlechip.” I said.
“whoops.” Lysander said.
I had a spur of the moment idea and I sprang over to Monarch.
“Monarch spirit form!” She caught on and turned into a spirit. When you become something using the mirror chip you also gain it’s abilities and lose your own. I grabbed a zanbatou out of midair and thrust Monarch into it. “Into the Zanbatou!”
I slashed in the air as Monarch did with her wings during one of her attacks and produced a blade.
“Wind blade!” I yelled tentatively as it fell toward the fake Skanker. He tried to defend himself but wind is unblockable so he merely flew to the ground.
I pulled Monarch out of the Zanbatou and handed it to a girl standing beside me who had not been there before.
“Here.” I handed it to her.
“Keep it.” She said.
“Thanks Seung Mina!”
Kupo’s thoughts: Been a while since I made fun of Soul Caliber 2, so hey.
I ran over to Skanker (the real one) and checked his pulse.
“Wait, navis don’t have hearts.”
“Gee, thanks.” Monarch said sarcastically.
“I was speaking literally.” Skanker got up, he was not fragmented for some reason, I would have assumed the attack would have been powerful enough to delete him.
“I guess it’s true.” He said as he stared at his hands.
“What?” I got up and put my hand on his shoulder.
“When not in the universe I belong I cannot die of conventional means.” It made sense, navis were digital and when they appear in the real world they cannot die unless killed in a dimensional area, this theory had never been properly tested but I believed it to be true.
“What happened to you?” I asked slowly, I assumed the answer would be obvious but I asked anyway knowing that he probably would tell me if I didn’t.
“Later…” He replied, he ran over to Lysander who gave him a contented hug. I merely smiled like a mother who’s child has taken the nest step into adulthood.
“Excuse me, I have a bone to pick with you Skanker!” the other Skanker got up from the ground, he now no longer looked like Skanker but like Megaman only he was chrome all over.
“Mirageman!” Joey yelled at him before rushing over.
“Well Joey, it appears you survived after all. Too bad I am going to end up with your head on a pike.” Mirageman pushed him to the ground and changed his arm into the form of a large chrome sword.
“Why?” Joey asked. “You don’t have to be evil anymore, Regal no longer knows about the universe bridging and this time I’m not the cause of it.”
“Because Joey, there is an easy way to end this but you choose to risk all of it for one simple reason.” Mirageman retracted his sword and merely walked over to Joey.
“I wont do it, sacrificing lives to save them is not right, this isn’t alchemy, we don’t have to equivalent trade.”
“Three lives and three net navis to save infinite reality, seems like a steal to me.” He pulled Joey up and kicked him a good fifteen meters.
“Not just lives, FRIENDS!” Joey yelled.
“Joey, who has to die?” I ran over to him and pulled him away from Mirageman.
“You do…” He blurted out before fainting.
I felt a surge of emotion run through me and I grabbed Monarch again, using the Zanbatou and my PET I repelled him.
“Monarch enter the Zanbatou!” I forced her into it. “Into the PET!” I pushed the Zanbatou with Monarch in it into the PET. It became a giant Zanbatou about ten meters long and covered with wiring. I pushed it straight up and climbed it, from the top I jumped off and threw it onto Mirageman. I forced everyone away to a safe haven.
“Well Mr. Lysander, you have something to explain!” I lunged myself into his face.
“What?” He replied quickly.
“What happened to the last biscuit?”
“Eliza!” Monarch scolded, she was now inside the pink PET relaxing and regaining her strength. We all sat around the table Monarch stood against a wall and Skanker watched the door from the other wall.
“Fine.” I turned over to Skanker who had put his human clothes back on. “Why were you not here for the last few hours?”
“Well at the point of impact I hit the tactical station, I was thrown into another point in the same universe, incidentally Amyl’s Klingon Bird of Prey the ‘Pompous Mango’.”
Kupo’s thoughts: Another flashback, you know how it works… BEGIN FLASHBACK!
“Skanker!” I had hit the side of Amyl’s chair with my head, I looked at my navi body.
“How the hell did I get here?” I asked, I rubbed my head and watched as Hermia, Maylu and Lan stared at me. They obviously saw that I was a navi and didn’t know how I had gotten into the real world.
“Well then, is this the Delta quadrant?” I asked casually. Amyl was rather distracted but Lan attempted to nod with his jaw on the floor, which from personal experience I know is a difficult task.
“We have a problem.” Hermia had returned to her station, it seemed she had seen weird things before and adapted more quickly.
“How bad?” Amyl asked.
“I’d say very.” Hermia said fearfully.
“We are the Borg, resistance is futile, we will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own, resistance is futile.” A low strange voice bellowed through the com system.
“If resistance is futile why do you sound like a woman?” Hermia yelled back.
“I am a woman you moron!”
“Suuuure…”
“We will destroy you!”
“What are you gonna do? Blow us up?”
“Yes.”
“Well, you can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because your fat.”
“You don’t even know what we look like.”
“I don’t have to ‘cause you’re fat.””
“We are not!”
“Are too!”
“Are not!”
“Shut up one of seven!” another voice took over. “Forgive my counterpart, well you will be assimilated, resistance is futile, yada, yada, yada.”
“What do they mean assimilated?” Hermia asked, everyone was too busy praying to God for their lives. A tractor beam started to pull them in.
“Amyl can you activate a force field on the view screen at a moments notice?” I asked quickly, I knew time was a very costly luxury they could not afford to throw away.
“Sure.” Amyl quivered, she was scared but Hermia could still not figure out why, she couldn’t die, she was already dead.
“Well then, as soon as I leave the ship then activate it.” I said with a less then sincere confidence.
“Agreed.” Amyl swallowed loudly and prepared a force field for activation at the touch of a button.
“Hold on everybody.” I hid my quivering mouth under his facemask. I took a running start and jumped through the viewscreen, explosive decompression showed it’s harsh pull instantly. With a great deal of effort Amyl pressed the button and the suction stopped.
Outside the ship, I flew directly towards the cube which the Marvin was getting pulled towards. I shifted my hand into the form of one of my default weapons.
“PULSAR!” I shouted as I released it at the ship, it was heavily damaged but I don’t know by how much because at that moment I was thrown outward to another point of space. This time it was aboard a Talaxian freighter, I found a good number of Youkai there along with one shard of the Shikon no tama. I spent the rest of the time looking for you guys.”
Kupo’s thoughts: End flashback.
“Wait, what happened to Hermia and the others?” Lysander cut in.
“I couldn’t return to find out, someone closed off that universe.” Skanker replied.
“How?” I yelled at him.
“Whoever did must be dead.”
“Or sent by them.” Mirageman said unexpectedly from behind us. He showed no signs of hostility but monarch had opened her wings and Skanker held his pulsar aimed at him. “You know that if I wanted to fight you then you would already be dead.”
“What’s your game Mirageman?” This time it was Joey, he seemed rather pissed at his former navi and the way it turned out.
“I want the same thing you want, order.” Mirageman replied. “To get it, we cannot just travel from universe to universe moving people back and forth through the universes like a transdimensional taxi service.”
“We can try.” Lysander said confidently. Skanker charged his pulsar.
“No, it wont work, not because it would take too long or some other shit like that, it’s your theory that’s wrong.” Mirageman said quietly, Monarch retracted her wings but Skanker still readied the shot struggling to hold the charge.
“How so.” Joey got up and leaned over the table.
“You think that these are disappearances but you are wrong, people aren’t appearing in other universes, someone is duplicating them and the real ones are thrown back through subspace and into another planet while the fake stays and lives out the lives of the original. So what you must do is replace the ones that don’t belong with the ones that do and throw the duplicates into another universe that is unoccupied otherwise this disturbance could destroy the universes they inhabit.”
“Are you saying that we have to kill all the people here and then replace them with others we think might not even exist.” Skanker said, he fired his shot at Mirageman who caught it and easily crushed it in his fingers. Skanker fell to the ground.
“No, we find an empty planet and dump them there and we leave to replace them with the ones that are in the wrong place.” Mirageman sniggered at Skanker, he walked to the table and put something on it. “I closed the universal boundry, if it reopens then bad things will happen.” He revealed what he had put down to be another mirror chip, that made four in total.
“What is the deal with those chips?” I asked.
“The first one was made when he was deleted, then when he reappeared another one was formed in a friend of mines PET when he died and the two you have were made when Monarch saved you in the grand canyon a year ago.”
“How did you know about that?” I demanded.
“Come on, I know everything about you Eliza, why do you think I knew to choose you instead of the billions of other people in the world.”
“Why did you choose me?” I asked. “Instead of some adult who does Karate?”
“Well I could have chosen an adult but that would undermine the system.”
“WHAT SYSTEM!”
“Shh, we use out indoor voices.”
I guess now I should tell you the story of how Monarch and I met, Skanker told you more then I wanted him to.
Kupo’s thoughts: FLASHBACK MODE!
“Eliza stop moping, we only ever get to come here once every two years.” Me and my mother stood on the grand canyon I never likes coming here, I was afraid of heights but my mother never cared. She had divorced my father this same year and now she was throwing all her anger upon her only child, me. I stood there looking at the large hole seriously considering jumping into it. The fear was difficult but at that time I had realized how easy it would have been to relieve it. My mother pulled me over to the gift shop, she didn’t have any money but she insisted on going anyway, inside I usually walked around reading the plates which showed the history of the park while my mother pulled things from the shelves and yanked them around. The owner was a hologram of a net navi, it wasn’t a business navi so I assumed it was the navi’s summer job. I went up to her to ask where I could get a camera to snap a few of the canyon to tack to my wall to cover up the yellow color.
“Sorry, but we only carry disposable digital cameras.” She said kindly, I only had enough for a regular one and I had nothing to print it on, so I began to walk away. “Wait.” She called back, she placed a PET on the table. “Take a few pictures with this and then I’ll print them for you.”
“Thank you Ms…” I looked for a nametag but she didn’t have one.
“Monarch… my name is Monarch.” Monarch said hesitantly as though the sound of her own name was her worst fear. I picked up the PET and walked outside, I found a good little rock to sit on and take pictures of the ground below. As I looked below I saw something rather strange, it seemed as though a man dressed in a chrome suit was walking along the ground below, I leaned down to get a closer look and I fell in. I screamed for a few seconds until I realized something.
“This is what I wanted…” I said to myself, I let go and fell peacefully but then I remembered something. “Geez Monarch is going to be pissed, I broke her PET.”
At the same time Monarch saw a crowd gasping at the falling me she, without realizing it, ran out of the shop and jumped into the canyon. She sprouted butterfly wings and grabbed me in mid air, we landed on the ground and I looked at her. She wasn’t a hologram, she was a real navi but in the human world. I looked at the PET, a chip extracted itself. It was a navi chip with a mirror where the picture should have been. I pulled it out of the PET and Monarch descended back into the PET. When we got back my mother was no where to be seen and everyone assumed I was dead. So I lived the next year of my life on several jobs waiting for something unexpected to happen. I was legally dead but I could still live my life with the help of an Interweb pen pal…
Kupo’s thoughts: END FLASHBACK!
“You were the pen pal!” I yelled at Joey.
“Indeed I was. But that wasn’t part of my elaborate plan, I didn’t die until a year later.” Joey responded.
“When I lost contact with you…” I started.
“You found a different friend…” Joey finished for me.
“But, you were one of my only friends! I told you everything and you abandoned me!” I yelled.
“I was dead!” Joey yelled back.
“That’s not the point, I mean why didn’t you tell me when we met you?” I started to cry slowly.
“I’m sorry, but I didn’t think you needed to know.”
“Why not?”
“Because I didn’t think you could accept it. Just like you aren’t accepting it now.”
“That’s not good enough!”
“SHUT UP!” Lysander spoke up. “We have two problems here, one is that you are making her cry you heartless bastard! Second is that if we don’t hurry the entire thread of the existence will be sliced like a thanksgiving turkey!”
“Heartless!” Joey yelled. “You call me heartless after what you did to Hermia!”
“Don’t say bad things about that.” Lysander held his head. He opened his now red eyes and pushed Joey against a wall.
“What is happening to him?” I shouted to Skanker who had rushed over and tried and failed to hold back Lysander. Mirageman merely stood in a corner with his arms crossed staring at a watch he had morphed onto his arm a few minutes a few minutes before.
“Excuse me…” Len walked into the room to see the aquard position that they were in, Joey being strangled by Joey who was being pulled by Skanker who was being pulled on by me while Monarch hid her face and Mirageman stood in a corner. “We heard what you said and we will go with you to find the real us…”
“Good.” Lysander’s eyes became normal again and he regained control over his body. They all stood arms length apart all had forgotten why they were fighting.
“We will help you find the others in a place that’s not here.” Yoh came into the room as well.
“As will I.” Joco came in on a light joke as usual.
“We all will.” All the shamans stood there smiling, Lysander saw such friendship and synchronization. He shook it off and accepted their proposal.
“Thank you, please return to the ship so we can find a way to get it out of the king of spirits.” He said.
“No need, it’s absorbed into the ship.” Yoh said happily.
“What?” Joey ran outside to see the glowing ship a few killometers away.
“Maybe it was a misfit too.” I said trying to see the bright side.
“For your sake I hope so.” Joey laughed and put his hand on my shoulder.
We all spent a restless night, Lysander worried about Hermia, Joey worried about Amyl, Monarch worried about me, Skanker worried about Lysander and the shamans worried about their new positions on the ship. I on the other hand was worried about everybody.
“Perhaps I should become good one day, it’s not like I get anything more then a slight kick out of evil.” Mirageman said to himself. He leaned against the side of a tree in the forest, staring out at the bundle of stars.
“You know what you have to do.” A figure stood behind him.
“Actually I have fairly good memory.” Mirageman replied, he moved his eyes toward the voice without twisting his shiny body.
“I thought you did, now remember, if they ever find the second Yoh then kill him and make up some random excuse.”
“We could end this so quickly, why can we not?”
“Because we can work this to my advantage.”
“And what’s the compensation this time?”
“A large pat on the back?”
“Har, har, now really what is it?”
“Well I could pretty much give you anything you want, or I could just kill you.”
“You drive a persuasive argument, but then again, so do I.” Mirageman opened his buster and fired at the figure head on, he caught it and hurled it back.
“I will enjoy gutting you.”
“You can try.” Mirageman morphed himself into Skanker again and fired a pulsar.
“Once again, your efforts are futile, even with a few new shapes you cannot defeat me.”
“Yes I can.” Mirageman built up energy in his hands. The other figure laughed slightly and watched Mirageman launch an attack.
“Soundwave!” He yelled as it flew towards the figure. He caught it and crushed it in one hand.
Another mirageman jumped out from behind and stabbed the figure in the back with a small dagger-like weapon.
“Impressive, you managed to keep a technique from one shape to another, but not good enough.”
He grabbed the arm which held the dagger in place and used it to whip Mirageman into the other Mirageman. The first one vanished into a puff of smoke when hit.
“How did you do that filthy human?” Mirageman demanded, he ripped the dagger out of his stomach, the figure must have thrown it in when he was being tossed.
“Because I familiarize myself with enemy techniques before I enter a world, so instead of merely learning about Shaman I learned about the real Shinobi of the surrounding area.”
“So you also knew that he was here?”
“Indeed I did, I had to know what people were where when I cloned them.”
“You did that?” Mirageman held the bloody dagger in his hands.
“That Kunai,” The figure said, he was referring to the weapon, “needs to be returned if you are going to bring him back into his world.”
“Think I don’t know that?” Mirageman growled.
“Yes I do.” The figure disappeared.
Mirageman fell top the ground, he stared at the kunai which was soaked in blood, but he didn’t have blood, and he didn’t pierce the figure, what could have happened that he had become as fragile as a human.
He morphed over the cut and washed off the blood but he was not free of the wound.
“Morning.” Lysander said to me who sat with her legs dangling off the cliff as she stared at the sunrise. He took a seat beside her.
“Morning.” I replied lowly and quietly.
We sat in silence for a few minutes staring at the sun.
“You know, I would probably find this sun inspiring if it was the one that has heated my back for the past thirteen years.” I said without warning, Lysander now had proof of my age which he was secretly looking for in the ships database an hour earlier.
“I don’t care about the sun, it’s the same in most respects, maybe a misplaced solar flare here and there but it’s the same sun that was never there when I needed him… I find it rather funny that I referred to the sun as a person and not an object bigger then the earth itself.” Lysander laughed slightly as he finished his sentence.
“The sun is a person, but he is not a very good one cause he always hides behind clouds on bad days.” I joked.
“Yeah, but if something went wrong he is always back to comfort you in the end.”
“Ha! Look at us, talking about the sun and referring to him like a human being.”
“Being opinionative is not stupid you know.”
“You think I don’t know that? I invented the damn term.”
“You should talk to Skanker, but it’s kind of useless now cause the thing he was fighting against is only a theory that started because everybody is being affected by the universe collaboration.”
“Skanker is a bloody lunatic, I have known him for some time and he still isn’t making any more sense.”
“Wait a minute, I know why Joey chose us.”
“For what?”
“To come on this mission, to be his compatriots. Because we weren’t affected by the changes in the universe, cause I didn’t have a navi and neither did Hermia, you because you knew Joey before he died and none of his friends were affected.”
“Wait didn’t he say something about his friend that died when he erased all of that happening?”
“He did, so maybe his friend isn’t dead…”
“We have to tell him.”
“Wait!” Monarch stumbled out of the ship. “Put me back in the PET, my legs fell off.” She held up her legs, her right arm fell off under the pressure.
“Oh my God, MONARCH!” I ran to her and embraced her. “What happened to you.”
“I don’t know I woke up like this.” She said quickly. I aimed the lazer from the pink PET at Monarch and pressed a button. Monarch was instantly transported to the PET, her legs and arms were reattached but she couldn’t get up. I removed the mirror chip and stared at the chip now translucent mirror.
“The chip isn’t permanent.” Mirageman walked out of the ship. “It only lasts a few days of consecutive use, I thought you would know that considering how long you have had it.”
“We only used it a few days ago to bust Lysander out of Jail ‘cause Skanker told us what it did. He must have already known that it does that.”
“I can fix it.” Mirageman walked over to me and put his hand over it, he morphed his arm and it turned into a liquid substance, he let a drip fall on it and then morphed his arm back. The chips translucent glow became fully opaque once again, I put it back in the PET and Monarch appeared in front of us, she was perfectly OK but to make sure she shook her arms and legs.
“Thank you Mr. Mirageman sir.” She drilled a small hole in the ground with one of her feet.
“Anytime Butterfly girl.” Mirageman retreated into the ship, Monarch followed him with her red face and anime sparkles surrounding her. “He is soooo cool!”
“You know what I don’t get.” I said to Lysander. “When we were in the star trek universe, were we still anime characters or were we anime characters in a real world or were we real or what’s the deal with that?”
Kupo’s thoughts: I hadn’t found a solution to that and thank God nobody noticed.
For the next few hours they prepared the ship for liftoff and gathered all the clones they could find. In this world surprisingly they found only the main characters were clones. Mirageman had found a way of telling which characters were clones and where to find them.
“Smart little boy aren’t you.” The figure had returned to Mirageman. Once again it was night and Mirageman leaned against the outer hull of the ship.
“Shut up, you know you can’t kill me and so do I.” Mirageman replied quickly
“Au contraire. I own you now, I can kill you by any means I want, I just have to fire and…” He pulled out a small pistol and aimed it directly at Mirageman’s head.
“Ha, pathetic I have no idea what you think you can do with that, Navi vs. human I wonder who will win.” The figure frowned and shot. Mirageman caught the smoking bullet in one hand.
“Once again, the only reason you could beat me is because you stole from what you have seen recently, I can show you something else, we plan to head somewhere else soon enough and you don’t know where.” Mirageman morphed himself into a regular human but he wore clothes from a medievalist period and he held a staff that defied the laws of physics.
The figure thew a kunai at Mirageman who raised the staff and created a barrier protecting him from it.
“Why do you think that you are so powerful?”
“Because I am.”
“Your like the George Bush of evil villains, tell everybody you have good intentions and then go blow stuff up in a place that is already full of people who barely survive as it is.”
“Where did I say I was going to help them?”
“You said you were going to defend the people from that guy, he kept attacking, but instead you thrust the best fighters into another universe and you left leaving uncoordinated clones behind.”
“Now THAT was funny.”
“No it was cruel and I am not going to let you get away with it anymore, I am going to show them what you did and how to fix it, you have lost without my help.”
“Once again you’re backwards, you can’t tell them because you wont remember who I am.” The figure smiled and raised his hand he materialized a teleportation ring and used it to create a portal on the ground in front of them. “This is a portal to the universe where you were sucked out of, the lock has been released and you are going right into the middle of a Borg cube without morphing ability and your going to be human.”
“How are you going to do that.” Mirageman asked, he had a tinge of fear in his voice.
The figure laughed, he raised his arm to the same level as Miragemans head and his arm stretched moving right to his head where two of his fingers touched his forehead. Mirageman instantly became human down to the last detail, his clothes became standard, his face became skin and organs splattered inside him, Mirageman tried to remorph but he was really human at the time. The figure pushed him into the hole where he fell through universes until he reached a dark room.
“I can move again!” He commented to himself. He tried to morph but he still couldn’t. “This must be some kind of trick.”
“Resistance is futile bastard!” A low, fierce and aggravating snarled from across the dark room. Mirageman looked at the three figures standing there, all three were Borg. The lights turned on in an eerie green glow, Mirageman somehow knew all three of them.
“Excuse the manners of our newly assimilated Youkai, he still has emotions.” The middle one spoke as if she was trying to seduce Mirageman. This one was the Borg queen, a vile woman whose strange ideas cost the assimilation of millions. The Borg were a fierce race, they were a collective of beings which had been fused with machinery and stripped of individuality, they were all controlled by one being, the hive mind. The queen controlled the hive mind in a pathetic attempt to bring order to chaos. The one she was referring to was definitely someone he recognized, it was Inuyasha, whose antics he had watched countless times on TV. The third was someone he had been working with for a while before she died, which was when he turned, it was Amyl, whom he was very surprised to see. All three were Borg but they were all strange in the way that none were standard drones. The queen had thoughts of her own which she transmitted amongst the collective. Inuyasha wasn’t one to be mind controlled, it happened every two episodes and he usually broke out of it. Amyl didn’t seem to be one to actually be able to be assimilated because she was dead and even though her body was flesh she was still omnipotent and completely impregnable to any kind of psychological warfare.
“You can’t assimilate me, I can just flick my fingers and this entire ship will be destroyed.” Mirageman was bluffing but the queen had no way of knowing that.
“Oh please, I was contacted before and warned about your arrival and the loss of your shapeshifting power, your as weak as all the other humans onboard this ship, except you lack order, you lack efficiency.”
“I lack a lot of things but I make it up in wit.” Mirageman saw Amyl wink at him from wheere she stood beside the queen.
“Like how?”
“Knight to C4.”
“Queen to knight 2.”
“Bishop takes queen, checkmate.” Mirageman had quickly shown his wit by winning the game of chess on the viewscreen behind the queen.
“Well you are better then the other drones because I can’t hear what you think,” the queen smiled, “but that can change.”
“Try it, I dare you to assimilate me.”
The queen took offence to that and walked over to him with her right arm outstretched, she prepared injection tubules to launch into his neck but he didn’t recoil. She stabbed them in, for a moment he gasped and nearly fell over, but then he got up and looked into the queens startled face, at the point where the injection tubules met his forehead a chrome substance was floating over it.
“Get out of my systems!” She yelled at him.
“No thanks… Here it is!” Mirageman laughed slightly.
“What?”
“Your cortical array, and I’ll make it loud.” He twitched slightly. “Clean up on conduit three!”
“Ignore him!” The queen yelled back out through the array.
“To the owner of a green Mercedes shuttlepod, you are being attacked by Cardasians!”
“Stop it!”
“Lets have a party! Every Borg in this galaxy please do the chicken dance.”
“Oh crap.”
Every Borg in existence at that point began doing the chicken dance, the most surprised person was probably Captain Janeway because at the time hundreds of drones were boarding her drones whom all at once started doing the chicken dance.
“Maybe we should have installed a multiphazic stereo.” Neelix suggested.
“How did you regain your abilities so quickly?” The queen had somehow pulled out the tubules and was now recoiling in pain.
“I never really lost them, I made that fool of an overlord think I did, I just morphed a mask onto my face and let him sap the power out of that while I remained in human form.”
“Even if I can’t assimilate you I can still kill you!” The queen stood behind and gave a telepathic order to Inuyasha.
Inuyasha walked forward with a menacing look in his face. Mirageman yawned and turned to the side, he put one hand out and Inuyasha walked right into. Inuyasha walked straight into the hand and did not even attempt to walk around it or move it.
“Amyl can you get us back to Joey and the others so we can begin our transdimensional taxi service.” Mirageman said in a rather bored tone that reminded Amyl of Raika.
“Right on!” Amyl put her hand out and a bag appeared there. She poured the contents onto the floor in a circular pattern. She shoved both hands on the circle and a flash of light transported them right into the Shaman King world where Marvin stood facing the cube like a staring contest of starships even though they have no eyes.
“HOLY CRAP!” I yelled out. We all were sitting on the grass playing a friendly game of cards whilst Joey fixed up the ship. Joey ran out and looked through the viewscreen.
“Special delivery!” Mirageman yelled as he jumped through the hull of the ship. As he landed he turned around and waited.
“Damn, what happened to my legs?” Maylu yelled from the gaping hole. “I can barely walk let alone jump like that!” She stared at the long drop to the bottom and her biomechanical legs.
“Cool!” Lan yelled, he was staring at the claw that had replaced his hand.
“Boy Maylu what happened to your head?” Hermia walked into the group but couldn’t help staring at Maylu’s baldhead.
“My hair my beautiful hair!” Maylu yelled like a sissy girl. Lan hid behind a small piece of metal to avoid any debris thrown his way.
“Oh crap!” Amyl screamed, the Borg on the ship were still connected to the hive mind and were coming straight towards them quickly, they were lead by the queen. “Joey what are you going to do about this?”
“Hold on!” Joey and Lysander rushed towards the ship but they already knew it was futile.
“Stay behind we’ll get them!” Several oddly dressed people had appeared out of pretty much nowhere, the first one to speak was by far the weirdest, he had orange bushy hair with a headband with a metal trinket on it and a very baggy orange jumpsuit. He seemed rather overconfident because he looked no more impressive then Joey or Lysander did. The others followed, all of them ran rather quickly. Lysander tried to yell out to them about the Borg’s assimilation techniques but they could not hear him from the distance.
“Kage Bushin no jutsu!” The first one yelled, he instantly split into five of himself and began running up the side of the cube as though gravity had shifted.
The first four of them ran at the Borg and pushed the first few over and the last one grabbed Hermia and jumped out the side. The first four disappeared into a pile of smoke when he jumped out.
The four others that followed and all grabbed one also and jumped out.
Kupo’s thoughts: I’m kind of new to this fandom so I might screw up their personalities or fighting style.
“Who are you?” Hermia asked to the weird looking guy who had picked her up. He had put her down beside me.
“Uzumaki Naruto!” He said proudly.
“Wait Naruto from that show?” Amyl asked, she looked around at the others, she recognized all of them. “Naruto, Hinata, Neji, Lee, Sakura, and Chouji!” She pointed out.
“We have been stuck in this strange place for weeks, we can’t find anyone here except crazy people who think we’re shaman.” Sakura pleaded. “Can you help us?”
“We can,” Mirageman said quickly, “let’s first take care of some business.”
“What?” Lan asked quickly.
Mirageman merely pointed at the Borg cube behind them.
“I got them!” Amyl said happily, she snapped her fingers in the air and three people materialized from the ship into the field.
“Now.” Mirageman told Amyl who gracefully moved her arm towards the ship which instantly disappeared in three very large rings.
“I think I’m the first to say, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?” Lysander yelled at Mirageman.
“First, can you get this things off us?” Hermia asked politely pointing at the Borg implants.
“I can.” Mirageman said he placed his hand on Hermia’s bald forehead, a chrome excretion came out of his hand and went around her entire body. He fidgeted slightly with his eyes closed. He released his hand and the chrome liquid retracted into the ground.
“Thank God.” She said relieved, Lysander stared at her and raised his finger.
“What?” She asked quickly, she put her hands on her hips. Amyl turned and yelped.
“Hermia, you’re… you’re…!” She started.
“What?” Hermia sounded rather annoyed, I laughed slightly Monarch joined me in a small fit.
“You’re… you’re… naked!” Amyl laughed slightly as if the word tickled her throat.
“Dear God!” She covered herself. “You stupid navi!”
“I can fix that!” Mirageman masked his fits of laughter, he put his hand on her forehead again and morphed her some clothes he laughed as he did.
“That’s better.” Hermia said discontentedly. Naruto walked over to her and put his arm around her shoulder.
“Your cute!” He laughed, Hermia hit him in the back of the head.
“Wow, you look like Sasame!” Sakura pointed out to Hermia who had just noticed that Mirageman had morphed her into Sasame’s clothes.
“That’s even better, Sasame-chan was cute too.” Naruto said happily. Sakura hit him this time.
“It’s kind of odd that the only character that I remember was her.” Mirageman rubbed his chin.
“Hey!” Hermia said, she rubbed her side as if something wasn’t there. “My PET!”
“I have it.” Amyl said quickly. “Put us normal again so that I can get them.”
Mirageman nodded and normalized her but he remembered clothes this time. She handed Hermia her altered PET.
“Wait…” I said, I reached into my pocket and pulled out two mirror chips. I handed one to Hermia and one to the now normal Lan.
“What am I supposed to do with this?” Lan asked.
“What you would do with any chip Lan.” Hermia said confidently. She slotted hers in and Kaze appeared before them.
“What the hell am I doing with all you guys standing in a giant field with a glowing intrepid class starship, five characters from Naruto some weird Shaman King characters, Joey and a cat made of choclate?” He said quickly.
“Well we hit a snag…” Joey rubbed the back of his head.
“And the cat was supplied by Cadbury, new living things only covered in chocolate, try new endangered Condor truffles!” Rio said he took a bite out of the cats tail. “It’s cat-tastic!”
“Well what about me?” Lan said happily. “I want Megaman here because we work together.”
“Oh my God,” I said, “Lan’s a communist!”
“Fine.” Mirageman handed a chip to Maylu.
“Battlechip… uh line?” Maylu started.
“Mirrorchip!”
“Right, Mirrorchip in download!” She shoved it in and Roll appeared in front of her.
“What about me?” Lan pleaded.
“You can have one when you become Decocratic like us.” Mirageman said clearly waving his finger.
“Fine, Megaman and I are two separate people and have different personalities and are no way one person.” Lan mummbled.
“Here you go!” Mirageman popped one out of his hand and gave it to Lan.
“Mirrorchip in-”
“Would you stop doing that?” I said quickly. He slotted it in.
Kupo’s thoughts: You may remember how much I loathe how much they say completely pointless things in this show all the time.
Megaman appeared out of nowhere in front of a starry eyed Lan.
“What he said.” He pointed to Kaze.
“Well while you create human forms let us all get on the ship and find a way to separate it from the king of spirits.” Joey said quickly, he walked out to the ship.
“What he said.” Lysander walked away.
“Stop doing that!” Lan yelled.
“What he said.”
well I don't want this to get too old to not be able to reawaken it so I ended it here for now, I'm kind of bored of this but I'll find a way to end it in a few more. |
