I didn't see a topic on this already, so I thought I'd make one.

Anyone here find the new Retro Roto figures Jazwares released? I was lucky enough to find all 5 figures within a week, in fact, I thought they were so great, I bought duplicates to open, and they are now on standing on my shelf, while the unopened ones are on the wall next to my Batman Rogues Gallery figures.

At first glance, I screamed, "WTF did they do?" However, a minute later I remember how MegaMan looked in my Anthology Booklet that came with my PS1 copy of MM8, and I got used to it instantly.

The figures themselves are nicely done, and probably Jazwares' best work ever. Their made of a vinyl, and while they are limited in articulation (I'm not completely picky over articulation), their limbs do not fall off like the figures before them.

Once again, they all look nearly identical to the pictures in my Anthology Booklet, however, I really think GutsMan could have used red paint on the inside portion of his jaw to make it look like it is a mouth. Being one complete color just takes away from his design. Other than that, I have no complaints over the figures themselves.

There is one major complaint I do have though, each figure comes with a piece of a "Full Charged" MegaMan, and that is where I think Jazwares screwed up. First off, his legs are completely a dark florescent (spell??) color, along with his gloves, helmet, and face. Yes, even the face sans the eyes. Nevertheless, that is not the proble. The problem lies with the fact that his body and arms (mins the gloves) are a lighter blue color, and it just makes him look awkward with the legs being completely dark. Had they made the upper half of the legs the light blue color, it would have been much better. Another complaint is trying to put this dude together. I put the body in hot water to soften it up, which worked for the legs and arms, but the head was still nearly impossible to twist on. It took me about 10 minutes for the head alone, and when I was done, there was still no way to really know if it would fall off or not (fortunately, it hasn't). Finally, my final issue about this figure, is that Jazwares should have really given more thought and gave us a different character to put together rather than an unneeded repaint of MegaMan. I think it would have given buyers who aren't sure if they want a full set or not more incentive to get the full set. Like maybe a different Robot Master, or Roll, Dr Wily (instead of having him in Wave 2, and have a different RM), Bass, Dr Light, maybe a nobody character like Sniper Joe, etc. There are so many characters in the MM universe, I don't see why they had to give us another MM.

In the end, I give the first five figures a 4.5/5 stars, and I can't wait for the next set to come out (seems to be HeatMan, WoodMan, IceMan, and Dr Wily), which I hope it soon. I just hope that if Jazwares has another put-em-together figure, it is someone actually worth it.

One last thing, I'm not sure about you guys, but I would really love it if they did special box sets of the RM in game themes rather than release them individually. For example, a MegaMan 2 set would be like this:

BubbleMan AirMan QuickMan
HeatMan MegaMan 2 Retro Roto logo WoodMan
MetalMan FlashMan CrashMan

If you've found them, what are your thoughts on them?

I don't think MM2 Retro Roto would look much different from the first RR figure of Mega Man.

And what did you think of the pricing? Because if they had to sculpt a new figure that would only be sold as a pack-in in pieces instead of Full-Charge Mega Man, then the price would be sure to go up. Count on it. A recolor of Mega Man was cheaper and easier to do without having to reallocate any resources for development. So they could add it in at less of a cost.

Me, I haven't received mine yet. I wrote up the profiles for their site, but haven't gotten them nor the SDCC Zero figures I'm supposed to get from them yet.

And worse, they haven't been answering my e-mail lately. :\

No no, the middle is just the figures' logo that reads MegaMan 2 Retro Roto Collection or something like that.

I'd be more than willing to pay a few $ more if the pieces were a different figure.

I only found Proto and Elec, and I've never seen them or any of the other figures by Jazwares anywhere around here. Kinda sad, I wanted to get a few others of the retro, and I wanted MMZ and CM X... Since I only found one of each, I don't think I'll be opening them at all either. Oh well.

And I thought the "Full Charge" legs would look funneh on the full one..

Alright the bonus sucks, and they could have had accessories or a random enemy instead. Anyways, it just makes you want to be a completist because nobody wants random robot limbs....

My only beef with wave II is the unnecessary noses... but I'm willing to pay a little extra for someone to give Heat Man a rhinoplastry job.

Feel like I'm missing something here... you're not suggesting they just sell the logo, are you?

Fair, and maybe in the future, but for the first run, I imagine they didn't want to take a chance.

Yeah, it's based on part of the third game. And some places have the non-convention exclusive version, yes.

Huh? How the heck do you figure that? The logo in the center is part of the box that just tells you what you're buying. Like the logo on the cards.

I just reread the original post you made regarding it.

Evidently, I missed the word "sets."

My bad.

MMZero has already shipped, and a Pantheon with interchangable Copy X head will be following in the next assortment.

The picture on that site is kinda creepy. If you'll notice, Wily has his hand on Megaman's shoulder. O_o...

I'm planning on looking for these and other Jazwares releases later on today. I think that perhaps it would have been interesting if they had done what the Marvel Legends figure line did and put in pieces of a really big figure in each pack. Like a piece of Gamma or something.

Out of curiosity, where have y'all been finding these? I haven't seen them anywhere around here yet.

I went to the KB Toys here and they didn't have anything new. :grr: Not one new Jazwares item... So I ended up buying one of those new Sigma 6 figures. Really, when it comes to the availability of new Megaman stuff around here, all the stores just sssssuck.

I went to a Toys R Us after that and they actually did have something. One Cutman figure and one Rush figure. The paint apps looked fine on them too. Its just too bad they aren't the ones I want. >.<
