Well, technically, they did use chips. Such as Blues with Delta Ray Edge and Zero with the Z-Saber. Colonel with Rockcube. So, yeah, some of them do use chips. |
Wait, doesn't Laserman use a chip in BN4? For instance, when time suddenly freezes and he uses his signature laser attack, isn't that just like the Navi chip? I would assume so since his attack, just like the Laserman chip, can disable the NCP. |

The attack is the same as the chip's attack, but isn't the attack actually displayed as a chip, while Blues' shows the chip name (like with any other chip) when he uses Area Steal (at least I think Blues does). |

Yes, some Navis DO use support chips, but I don't think using one's own attack really qualifies as a Chip, since only Blues/Colonel can do DRE/SD and when you use the chip they are even SUMMONED to do so.
But, on the flip side while in 4.5 Navis do have a Buster and Shield they also have a signature charge shot, so my point is still equally valid. It's a design flaw more so than a concious choice I would believe. _________________

It doesn't amke the game unplayable, not at all... I just think it's boring and kind of uninspired...
On to the next issue, Lazy spriting
Blues, and Searchman are interviewed on their hilarious EXE 4.5/5 sprites do they actually have a sword/gun on both arms? ;p have fun _________________ Here's lookin' at you kid. |

They can switch their arms at will. If you want to be serious, you can take it as an example of Capcom's unwillingness to throw in a bunch of unique sprites as well as unique attacks.

CoJ Spriter: ZOMG NEW SPRITES?!? HOW DISHONOURABLE!!!
Uh yeah, needed to get that out of my system.
I have to say, to my shame the closest detail I spent looking at the Blues Sprite was going: "Oooh, he's got swishy hair when he runs!"

But like I said, maybe the sheer size of individual styles for EVERY Navi in the game is simply too much for the cart? :/ _________________

I severely doubt it, Chain fo Memories managed to fit several FMVs in it along with sprite sheets, there's no reason why the carts can't support it. _________________

Well, if it IS possible, hypothetically, then why is it not done?
Perhaps CAPCOM is lazy, like many people have said before. -.- _________________

I thought Searchman's Overworld sprite in 5 looked stupid compared to the one in 4. What was the reason for changing it? _________________ What's the point in having a sig? All it does is take up space and annoy people. I'll never create one! |

You can actually see his butt-crack if you look closely. It's easier to see on the DS because of that bright screen. And you can't even see his face! That's SO stupid! _________________

Chain of Memories had to use a supersize cart (which was why it cost more than most games) in order to fit the FMVs on it. Of course, that just means Capcom is lazy and doesn't want to spend the extra money, though the standard DS carts should probably have enough space. |

It cost the normal cost here. Besides, it depends what compression they use, the point is that Rockman EXE doesn't have anything like FMVs, so they shouldn't have any problems fitting sprite sheets into the cartridges. _________________

If Protoman had a sword for his B weapon, he would be ultra powerful, but if they wer to dull it don, it would be a buster minus any range. It would be kind of cool if it did the same dmg, but took the form of him slashing and slicing wind came off from the force of the slash(like in megaman Zero almost). _________________ Formerly known as LunarSun

ANd the way he walks is so funny, and his gun switches arms. I think the buster is fine how it is...although I wouldnt mind having a rapid fire Hell's Rolling. I also agree with the fact that Capcom is lazy. Also I cant seem to picture Blues firing Sonicboom's out of his sword at a shot a second. -_-; _________________

I can't really see it working either, but it is one way to make the characters more unique. _________________ Formerly known as LunarSun
