Yes, now that you speak of it, I do see a resemblance.

Where? o.O
I've never seen Duel Masters, but it never seemed particularly threatening. I believe the reason for them running side by side likely has something to do with having the same producers or animators or something. Duel Masters also runs alongside the Takamisaki manga in CoroCoro magazine. |
off random sites.. man that anime is crazy.. it's bad when you HAVE to watch the dub to get any idea about what is going on.. Duel Masters is just.. wrong.. after watching just three eps of the sub I stopped.. it was more like random bouts of crazyness and.. well.. it was enough to kill my liking of playing the game it's self..
to me.. mixing such a random crazy quirky anime that's plot seems like they just go randomly from one ep to another with EXE..
...I'm startting to fear this ruining EXE for me.... ;.; _________________ "Naku ga yousuru ichidanto tsuyosa kyaku ga icchuu wo yusuru." |

Well, it's just one crossover and it was only for a few moments, it probably won't occur in EXE again. Boktai has had way more crossover occurences than Duel Masters. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Still, I'm surprised that they didn't go with a crossover of somesort with one of the Nintendo series. Hell, that could've possibly branched into Megaman being included in the next Smash Bros., although I guess that's another story.
Anyway, yeah Duel Masters isn't really the greatest anime franchise I've ever seen, but I'm not really afraid of it interfering with the EXE series very much. Also, Saeru, if you're talking about Greiga and Falzer being giant 3D monsters, I highly doubt the whole thing with them was Duel Masters inspired =/ |

It wasn't a cross over. It was just a double feature, both movies were 'too short' and they just aired together, so they made a little 'cross over' intro for them.
And I think he's talking about >.>;[spoil:9e5cf1824e]Falzer and Greiga, since they are CGed monsters rather than hand drawn.[/spoil:9e5cf1824e] But that has nothing to do with EXE itself, they've been using CGed creatures for a while now. The convenience of having one single model rendered that can produce the required frames for movement is much bigger than having to hand drawn the same monsters in plenty of positions. Notice that Life Virus and Gospel were incredibly limited in movement, oposed to our new 'villians'. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

I was referring to the Duel Masters battle that takes place just after Be Somewhere actually. XD That's definitely a little crossover; as I said earlier (in this topic I think) there's a good chance that there was mention of a Net Battle in the Duel Monsters movie. People really don't seem to be understanding that DM was a separate movie that wasn't included on the DVD and therefore 99% of us haven't seen...I think thats what you're trying to explain, yes? _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

I just watched the sub and its great, like always. But I do have a question for WPP. What sort of encoding was used? I ask because it seems to be getting used more often and it doesn't work with my DivX compatible DVD player. It looks great on PC though. Wish I could update the codecs on that thing somehow.
I so want the Rockman/Forte figure now. lol I was also wondering if Forte did something to Rockman before they parted. I haven't seen anything of Stream or Axess besides what has been subbed by WPP, so I dunno if anything comes of it later on in the series or not. I don't watch RAWs or spoil myself on episode descriptions if I can help it. Although I did spoil myself on Stream's ending before seeing the movie, so I already knew about that much.
My room mate also had this to say when watching the movie. "Poor Numberman." Thats his favorite navi. _________________ Power wielded by incompetance leads to nothing but self destruction. |

Excellent! Definately the best performance I've seen as far as artwork goes in the anime series. I wish I could just hug every member of WPP...
I was suprised how much I enjoyed the movie, seeing as a lot of anime shows don't turn out well on the big screen. I think the only complaint I had was how short it was. Otherwise, I loved every minute of it :] The plot was nicely done and tied into the series (which now makes me want to go write 3 different fanfics on it.. lol)
Once again, big thanks to WPP. For those who haven't seen it, torrent it now. It's worth it.
Edit:

I think it's some monster from Duel Masters, though I'm not really sure what it is... (Never really enjoyed those card-battle anime shows)

Well, it's kind of obvious that's from Duel Masters, because I know I haven't seen it before in the Rockman series, and it wouldn't be fair to just fight Desertman. o_O
Plantman, I think the reference was at the part where Netto and co. decided to see other battles, and it shows a scene from Duel Masters. Netto couldn't stay very long to watch it because his dad called him over, but he thought it was cool. _________________ I'll remember that day, and I won't let it go. |

Wow, if they managed to make fans for the other series by watching one of the films, it was a VERY good marketing tactic. -_-; _________________
