Expectations: PG: R ShadexBurner for Planty

Burnerman curled into a tight ball under the digital covers of his bed. After suffering yet another crushing defeat against Rockman and his operator it was all he could do to even get into the bed. After lying there for several moments he heard a faint humming that announced his lover’s entrance into the room. Instead of jumping out like he normally did upon Shademan’s entrance he merely tried to lie very still and pretend nothing else was going on.

“You were defeated,” Shademan said in his cool voice.

Burnerman’s silence screamed its wrath in the room.

“Are you injured?” Shademan asked.

Burnerman made a soft hissing sound. Only a fool would go near him when he was that upset. “You are injured,” Shademan concurred.

“So?” Burnerman asked.

“You need to heal your wounds or it’ll degrade more,” Shademan said with a touch of concern in his voice.

“I don’t care,” Burnerman snapped.

“So you’re going to sit here and sulk like a baby then?” Shademan asked in a dangerous tone.

Shademan could feel the temperature of the room rise several degrees as Burnerman seethed under his flame retardant blankets. “Why can’t we win?” he hissed.

Shademan crossed the room and pulled the blanket off his lover. He held back a hiss as he surveyed Burnerman’s wounds. “What happened?” he asked.

“The brat used a water based soul unison,” Burnerman said bleakly.

Shademan prodded Burnerman into a sitting position as he began to heal him. “I think we can’t win because we’re not strong enough. We must get stronger,” he said.

Burnerman turned around to gaze at him with hard blue eyes, “How?” he asked.

“That is up to you,” Shademan told his boyfriend.

“I want to be stronger,” Burnerman said.

Shademan cupped Burnerman’s face in his hand, “I know,” he said. “And you have the ability to get stronger,” he said.

Burnerman leaned in closer, “I know,” he said.

Shademan grinned, “Good,” he replied.

Burnerman leaned in and planted a firm kiss on Burnerman’s lips. When he broke contact and leaned back Shademan was smiling. “What?” he asked.

“You’re back to normal,” Shademan replied.

Burnerman grinned and turned around, “Finish healing me,” he replied.

“Oh?” Shademan raised an eyebrow.

“I have a score to settle,” Burnerman said with a wicked grin.

Didn't Aqua soul happen after Shademan was turned into a statue?

That could be...but other than that this was really sweet. I still don't see this pairing as something as being feasible, but then again, it's not for me, so who am I to complain?

Anyway...I enjoyed this one. Although it was rather short and uneventful, it still managed to express what it wanted to do very effectively. Great job.

As I've said before Burnerman and Shademan is making more sense to me. It was sweet and makes the reader feel all warm and fuzzes, then again all of your fics do that Neko.
