Why waste your money on poorly painted, badly assembled crap?
Not to get off topic, but here are a few reasons I bought Snake Eyes.
1) Super articulation that doesn't crap out.
2) Wide variety of weapons including three different swords (some with functional handles), a gun that looks like an actual gun, and a pully throwing star with extending blades that would make Shadowman blush.
3) Working details like buckles on the belt and vest, and a flip up wrist communicator.
4) A very well thought out and impressive packaging design that turns into a handy carrying case for the weapons and accessories of the figure.
Overall, not a bad buy for $14.95. This just about gets my pick for toy of the year.
But back on topic, why do some places get figures before others? Usually I find that the northern states get stuff before the southern ones do. If they are due to be released in October, then they should be released in October at the same time to everyone everywhere. :grr: And don't get me started on Walmart or Target. For some reason they just don't carry any Jazwares toys at all. _________________ Power wielded by incompetance leads to nothing but self destruction. |

Um, because the Retro Roto series are NOT poorly assembled and painted. Have you even seen them? If not, then you have no right to speak.
And I wasn't calling the GIJoe figures crap, I was calling Sigma Six crap. Have you seen the show? It is horrendous. _________________ Once I was Dr Kain, but I died and have been reborn as Gankutsuou. |

Technically, if you're talking about wasting money, then you're most likely referring to the figures, which is what was being spoken of. Watching the show is free.
Do we really need a flame war about this, anyway?
'Sides, the show's not THAT bad... I rather enjoy it.

Yes I have seen them. One of them up close, but it wasn't one I wanted. Its paint app wasn't great. Plus, if you read the other comments in this thread, you would see some similiar comments.
You said I was wasting money on "that new GIJoe crap." Wasting money implies that I bought something, which I did. The Snake Eyes figure. I didn't buy, nor talk about the series did I? No.
Basically, what I was getting at was that no one is "wasting" their money if they happen to like the figure or like who the figure is. There's no need for flames over an opinion. So I won't talk about it further.
I was kinda hoping you would respond to my other question Nytetrayn. About why some stores don't get the same figures at the same time other ones do. If one KB has them, shouldn't they all? Unless they are out of stock that is. But this one didn't even have them at all. Not even a hint. And why stores like Walmart and Target don't bother carrying Jazwares at all. I know its because they just don't have a contract with them or something, but why? Shouldn't they? _________________ Power wielded by incompetance leads to nothing but self destruction. |

I like Tunnel Rat....
Okay back on topic...
Yeah, I'm seriously cheesed that my KB Toys never bothered to stock the new Jazwares figures what so over, I'm lucky Toys R Us at least stocked the Wave III figures. I wish I knew a place that had Retro Rotos. If they sold Retro Rotos at Big Lots, I would probably be able to obtain them easily. |

I would doubt it. (and before you say GI Joe sucks, compare it to the shows that come on early in the mornig on 4kids tv. 1 hour of good and one hour of suck.) |

moving on... yeah I feel California gets no love for Retro Rotos... I hope I find a store that stocks it sooner or later.... It's getting really frustrating. |

Thety don't carry Jazwares toys becauase they won't sell. Target and Walmart carry stuff like the Transformers Galaxy Force and Mattel Rockman EXE lines, and the Jazwares toys are just outclassed by them.
The Mattel stuff has an annoying tendency to be bad, but it's still better than the Jazwares stuff. (No Retro Roto toys here yet, either...) _________________ 「無一物」

And yet...here we are. We're looking for them, just waiting to buy them the second we get our hands on them. Jazwares does sell if available. You just have to do the smart thing and limit your quantities. Like Game Stop for example. They only sell a select amount of Jazwares figures at a time. Rather than KB, which would buy a whole bunch and be left with horrible recolors of Megaman and X-busters that only fit toddler's hands warming the shelves.
Meanwhile, Walmart has isles and isles of Star Wars, Batman Begins, and Spiderman toys that aren't being bought by anyone... I wonder if they really know what sells or if they are just selling out to certain companies.
Either way, Retro Roto still isn't here and my other question still remains. Why doesn't every store get them at the same time or roughly the same time? Sometimes it will be almost a month or more after the initial release date before I see the toys other people say they've seen or gotten.
LBD, I have another question for you. You said they haven't responded to you in a while, but how long has it been since your last attempt? They do know that you represent a rather large portion of the Megaman fan base right? We're the ones giving feedback and buying their stuff, so they should listen right? May want to make sure they know about the paint app problem and the problems with too many Megaman recolors. The only recolor I want to see is the red and white Rush color Megaman. No one has ever done that color and it would be great if they did that. Maybe if they included some snap-on Rush armor from Megaman 6... hehe _________________ Power wielded by incompetance leads to nothing but self destruction. |

Wal-Mart here carries the Jazwares stuff...
And I wouldn't hold my breath for Ciel, they seem to have a real aversion, somewhat justifiably, towards making females.

Awhile. I try not to be redundant in my e-mails. I'm thinking of asking about the button issues on Cut Man and the paint jobs...
Quote: | They do know that you represent a rather large portion of the Megaman fan base right? |
Pretty much, yeah.
Quote: | We're the ones giving feedback and buying their stuff, so they should listen right? |
I think the laws of consumerism probably say something about that. On the other hand, they're probably trying to appeal to the broadest market and spend the least they can to maximize profits as well.
Quote: | May want to make sure they know about the paint app problem and the problems with too many Megaman recolors. |
They heard it before, and I'll see if I can't make sure they hear it again. As for the recolors... well, they know about that already, though "too many" is sort of a matter of context. Wave 2 each had one recolor. And that's it, for the most part.
Quote: | The only recolor I want to see is the red and white Rush color Megaman. No one has ever done that color and it would be great if they did that. Maybe if they included some snap-on Rush armor from Megaman 6... hehe |
I've mentioned that before, I'm sure, but I can bring it up again.

I'll be damned... it is true.
And kinda pricey.
Not to mention, they seem to have had little clue of what they were ordering... "Rockman Orange?"

You're talking about the Hong Kong figures? Yeah, I noticed them at Amazon and I was thinking about buying the Aqua Custom myself. But from what I hear they're basically inferior versions of the Rockin Action figures which I do have. And even though I'm curious about them, I'm a bit reluctant to throw $13 on them. |

lol Yeah, I noticed that too when I went looking online for the Retro Roto series. It doesn't surprise me much though. They did go and offer those Megaman X model kits at one point, although they seemed to be cruddy knock-offs of the good ones. Once you get them together, the arms and legs keep trying to fall off. You pretty much have to glue the torso part together or it'll keep falling apart too.
If your Walmart carries Jazwares, then that means it isn't a company wide policy for them not to sell Jazwares stuff. Meaning it is possible for any Walmart to start carrying them. Interesting...
Ciel has a better chance getting figures made of her in Japan. Japan has this weird obsession with making mostly female characters from a video game or show. Just look at the Microman line. They made a bunch of female characters from Street Fighter and more recently the show GaoGaiGar. They just happened to decide to make the male cyborg from that show into a figure too, but the females seemed to be most in the spotlight.
I realize that they want to minimize spending, but paint apps shouldn't be a place where they cut corners. The appearance of the figure is key. If it looks like crap, no one is going to buy it. Even if it is Megaman. Just look at the yellow and purple recolors... But yeah, I appreciate any word you put in for us.
When you say they only had one recolor in that wave, that's not entirely accurate. I think there were at least two. A "bug bomb" and "magnet mine" or something. One was green in color while the other was that horrible yellow and purple. But I remember seeing a picture on Figures.com that had loooooots of Megaman figures, each in a different color. Thats pretty much what I was talking about. Wether or not they were going to go through with that. Rather than release different characters, they would just release a different color Megaman. That would be the same trap that the Batman line tends to fall into.
I wonder if they have product testers... Hehe _________________ Power wielded by incompetance leads to nothing but self destruction. |

Knowing Jazwares, they seem inclined to keep the articulation system they have right now. It's an okay articulation system, but it could be improved.
If they do more rock recolors they need to redo the face, I'm sorry, but all of the faces of the figures they do of Rock have a bad face. He's the star, he needs better treatment.
I wish Big Lots carried the retro figures because the Big Lots I generally goes to do get new shipments of Jazwares products regularly.
LBD, even though I think it might be too late to this more, but I still think you should tell them Ice Man, Heat Man, and Wood Man never had noses to begin with. Even the images they used in their preview for NY toy fair never had them...

In fairness, those were the 10" figures from Wave 1, rather than the 6" ones. Didn't know we were looking at the other scales, too.

Nothing beats Rockin'Action for articulated Rockman/Mega Man...
And they seem to have something new on CM X...

I liked his face... I hate it when figures have these expressions that are just permanently etched on, like always angry or whatever...
Plus, the blank face isn't unlike what the Rockman 8 model has, and it reminds me of the NES games to boot.
Told them. Capcom Japan liked them, evidently. Perhaps so much that I hear that Ice Man in Rockman Rockman/Mega Man: Powered Up has a nose now... haven't checked for myself yet, though.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question. There's no KB Toys out here, but there is a Toys 'R' Us. I'll have to look.
In response to the questions as to why stores in the same chain may or may not have the figures, it might have something to do with demand. As a non-Megaman related example, I've noticed that there's a significant difference in the sizes of the different sections of the local libraries and bookstores. There's a sizable Mormon population here, so you'll see stuff like a ginormous Christian lit section, with Latter-Day Saints warranting a labeled subsection of their own. Back in my hometown, there's a sizable Russian minority, so if you go to the library, you'll find multiple shelves full of books and videos in Russian. _________________ Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Who from Capcom Japan? I don't see Inafune-san marching around holding a Jazwares Retro Roto Ice Man. Also if they were so great, then why don't they sell them in Japan too? (Beyond the fact Japan might have a smaller Rock Man fan base.)
Yeah there are subtle noses on Fire Man and Ice Man for Rock Man Rock Man, but I highly doubt Jazwares had any influence.
I must continue my anti-nose campaign. |

I've never really seen Inafune marching around with ANY Rockman or Mega Man merchandise, save maybe once or twice. Hell, I've never even seen him play one of his own games. I think that's an unfair point to make. ;P

As far as I know, Bandai still has the rights to Rockman, not counting EXE. And I think I heard somewhere that Bandai and Jazwares don't get along too well, I forget the reasons why. I think Bandai wouldn't let Jazwares use their model kit molds here for some reason, but I might be mistaken, it's been a long time since I heard it.

Good luck with that. I've done all I can. It's up to the power of the people, now. Start an e-mail campaign to the address on Jazwares' site, if you think it might help... sometimes that kind of thing gets attention.
