Don't.

Seriously, unless you have the source code to the game or something, don't do crazy things like that. You risk too much.

I think he means the toy battle chips, rather than the ones from the actual games. Anywho, I haven't a clue how you'd go about that. Seems silly, but to each their own.

The PET recognizes a chip by the gold bars you see from the bottom of the chip; inside of the chip, there is another gold bar across the top. The PET uses the small connectors inbetween the bars you see and the bar at the top. To modify them, you need to remove the gold connectors inbetween the bars (except for the last one), and fill them in as it would be for the chip you want.

Go to Pet-World to look for the contacts list. I suggest using an Exacto blade to open them up. Be careful, though! Smile

I "hacked" my first chip last night. I turned it into every Navi Data Chip I didn't have. XD

I have a question though, has anyone tried to get Metalman or Knightman? Those are the only two I can't get to work.

According to PET World, Metalman's contacts are 1, 4, 5, and 10. KNightman's contacts are 1, 4, 5, 6, and 10. ...but it doesn't work. Can someone offer me some assistance as to why it wont work? I can unlock Metalman...so I guess Knightman is the important problem right now, but if yo ucan help me with Metalman too that would be great. XD

Try all kinds of lead, or try a pen. It might work, cause someone used foil to fake their contacts. And I mean with opening the chip with the blade, Valtz.

I got both Metalman and Knightman...I just had to put the chip in a few times. XD

Used a Stone Cube to hack, it's one of the more useless chips I have. XD

Next time if a chip doesn't work try to do it externally.
Just draw a line across the metal part where you can see and stick something thin on the metal bar. but you have to do the oppoist. eg. Forte's(navi data) contact is 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, then you have to stick on 2, 3 and 7 (not 11).
like this (look at metal bars):
http://swalot096.hp.infoseek.co.jp/exe45/chip.JPG
I use this method to get all the navi data.

My question: How to cut the contact?

You can either slice it or scratch it out with a knife, but if you can, slice it out instead. Scratching it makes it hard for you to fill in the contact points on that bar and also cleaning them away.

Pen ink isn't a metal. :P

Leaf, could you explain the way you're hacking your chips? Because the way I'm doing it now isn't working all that great. Is it possible to wear out a chip?

I believe she (he?) is cutting the strips in the middle of the vertical ones instead of the connectors at the top. If you are, then you might have problems getting the chip in/out of your gate/PET.

I didn't cut the chip. I just use a pencil to draw a line across the part where you can see.
Yes it is harder to put the chip inside the gate but... that's only another method.
I know someone who use a marker to draw on the metal bars but it is hard to change it back.

I have the contacts page here, since in the first version of the site, it was downloadable file:///c:/Documents%20and%20Settings/user/Desktop/mike/rockman%20exe/Contact%20point.htm
( The link won't work, so just copy/paste it)
