Egyptian Legacy: Pharoah Serenade *Finally updated, spoiler*

Yes, I'm juggling fics. I was looking at some artwork for Serenade one day and thought "You know, she looks kinda egyptian..." So, this fic was inspired by both that thought, and Yu-Gi-Oh Millenium Worlds. Here ya go:

Chapter 01:Almighty Pharoah

Before Netto and Rockman were born...during the time of Tadashi Hikari, Serenade had gone through a strange ordeal, unknown until now.

"Lord Serenade...time to wake up..." Darkman said.

He waited. Normally Serenade took awhile to wake up, so this was expected.

"Lord Serenade...wake up so you may watch my 900th victory, another step closer to fighting you." Darkman said.

When he heard nothing, he entered the chamber where Serenade normally retired to in the Secret Net.

"What is this?" Darkman asked, surprised to see Serenade's chamber empty.

"Darkman! You shouldn't be snooping around in Serenade's room! She'll be very mad if she finds out." A voice said.

Darkman turned.

"Yamatoman...I can't find her. I came to wake Lord Serenade like I always do, so she may watch my progress, but I can't find her..." He responded.

Yamatoman batted an amused eyebrow.

"Really? Hmm...this wasn't expected...let's look around for her."

Yamatoman, Darkman, and several other navis from the secret net had searched everywhere for her, even in the Ura Internet and the surface net.

"This isn't good...without Serenade, the secret Net is in danger!" Yamatoman said.

"What on Earth do you mean? We're strong enough to bring down anyone who enters this place." Darkman said.

"True...but without Serenade, we won't be able to stop one person if we don't find her soon...if we can't find Serenade, and he comes back here for revenge, than we're all doomed." Yamatoman replied.

Darkman gasped.

"Forte...could he really be alive?" He asked.

Serenade's eyes opened sleepily. Than wide with shock. She wasn't in her normal room in the Secret Net. The place she was currently in was a golden brick room, with several ancient symbols surrounding the room. She was sitting in a giant, golden, royal-like chair.

"Where am I?!?" She asked.

"Ah, young pharoah! You fell asleep during the trial of a criminal...please, stay awake so we may continue the trial!" A navi next to Serenade said.

"Is that you...Yamatoman?" She asked.

The navi said "Yamatoman? Young pharoah, are you okay? It is I, your advisor, Horus." The navi said.

He bore a resemblance to Yamatoman, but his armor was more egyptian themed, and he had a staff instead of a spear. His voice and face, however, seemed identical to Yamatoman.

"I'm sorry..." Serenade said.

She looked down, and saw 4 navis below her, kneeling down with their left foots forward to show respect.

"Pharoah! Allow us to bring in the criminal!" One navi, who looked alot like Darkman said.

"Um...yes, please do so!" Serenade said, still utterly confused at the whole situation.

This Darkman lookalike, however, had blue and white as it's main colors instead of purple and black. Plus, his head had a dog-like symbol on it. The cape seemed a little lighter as well.

"Bring in the criminal!" Said a navi who looked like Blues.

He was gold instead of red, and instead of visors, he had a clothe over his eyes. His hair was black, instead of white, but still long. He also had a symbol of an ankh where Blues's symbol should've been. Two guards who looked like egyptian themed Hell Navis brought in a struggling navi.

"Pharoah...this scum was caught graverobbing the tomb of the pharoah before you!" The Darkman-lookalike said.

"This is a sin punishable by trial of the Sacred Ones!" the Blues lookalike said.

Sacred Ones...that sounds familiar, like a long lost term... Serenade thought.

"I didn't steal anything!" The navi shouted.

"Silence! How dare you act so sinfully and than lie about it in the pharoah's presence!" Horus shouted.

"Sacred Priest Osiris! Do what you must!" The Darkman lookalike said to the Blues lookalike.

"I shall, Anubis!" Osiris replied.

His arm melted into a glowing white cybersword.

"Holy Sword, reveal the true nature of this cretin!" He said, and slashed into the navi.

The navi gasped and morphed into a giant, egyptian themed Scuttlest.

"Oh...!" Serenade muttered.

"Some viruses delete navis and steal their souls in order to hide under the guise of the navi in question. I do not think I need to explain it to you, pharoah, but Priest Osiris's sword sets the soul free." Horus said.

Serenade nodded.

"Sacred Priest Isis! Delete this disgusting creature!" Osiris said.

"It is my duty, I shall do it well!" A Roll lookalike said.

She was wearing a bright white dress that started at her waist and went down to her feet. Instead of pink, her armor was white and the antennae had hierologlyphs running through them. A necklace with the shen on it was around her neck.

Isis raised her hand.

"Isis Flash!" She shouted, and the whole room shone brightly.

When the light vanished, the virus was gone.

"Another virus has been eradicated." Isis said.

Anubis turned to Serenade.

"Pharoah! I ask premission to end court for today!" He asked.

"Uh...yes! Return to your homes! Tomorrow...uh...come back!" Serenade said, highly doubting any of the figures in front of her would do so.

They did, however, leaving only Horus and Serenade. Serenade looked to the ground and sighed.

What is going on? Where am I? Who is this navi who looks so much like Yamatoman, yet he claims to be my advisor named Horus. And why is everyone calling me pharoah? These thoughts bounced around her mind.

"Young Pharoah." Horus's speech interrupted her thoughts.

"Oh...uh, yes?" Serenade replied.

"Forgive me, but you seem a little distressed. Maybe you should get some rest?" Horus replied.

"O...okay..." Serenade said.

Horus lead Serenade to the Pharoah's chamber, where she sat on a bed and Horus left her. Serenade laid down.

"I have so many questions...where can I start to find the answers..." She asked, before drifting off into slumber.

Chapter 02. I know the name Kratos is greek, but I couldn't think of anything better. Here ya go:

Chapter 02:Kratos, the Dark Murderer, VS Ra, The Sacred One!

"Attention all of the Secret Net! Our ruler, Serenade, has gone missing! All of you! Form groups of five and search everywhere you can access, even more areas of the surface area and the Ura Internet! We shall stay here and guard the area! Go now!" Yamatoman said to all the navis in the Secret Net, and they complied.

"Serenade...where on Earth are you?" Darkman asked.

"I'm sure she'll be fine. She was strong enough to beat Forte, after all." Yamatoman said, trying to reassure his fellow navi.

"Yes...you're right. Maybe we should search the Secret Net for clues?" Darkman replied.

Yamatoman nodded in agreement. The both of them started searching the area.

Serenade woke up with a yawn.

"Maybe now I can find out where I am..." She said, and got up.

Serenade walked around the palace for awhile before finally finding the exit. She was about to leave when she heard the voice shout "Young pharoah! Where are you going?"

Serenade turned to see Horus running towards her.

"Oh, I'm just going to leave the palace for awhile..." She said.

"That really isn't necessary...you should stay here, plus, we're still on the second floor." Horus said.

Serenade looked surprised.

"Oh? Well, I guess I'll just go outside here, it's a balcony, right? Besides, I fell like I need some fresh air." She said, and walked out.

What Serenade saw amazed her. Her palace was in the middle of a huge desert, that stretched out as far as the eyes could see. Several pyramids dotted the desert, and to the west, the sand dropped off into a valley. Serenade felt a very holy aura arise from that place. Also, stretching out from the palace was a gigantic city that stretched out quite far before ending. Also, several lakes of pure, shining crystal cyberwater were in the area.

Serenade gasped in amazement.

"Where am I...?" She asked.

"Young Pharoah, how could you forget? This is the great Twilight Desert, greatest cyber desert of all the cyberworld. And this is your kingdom, Neo Ka'ammut." Horus said.

Serenade heard what almost sounded like a meow, but different as well. She turned to see a white scuttlest running towards her. It jumped in the surprised navi's arms.

"In case you've forgotten, pharoah, this is your pet Scuttlest, Jackal." Horus said.

"Jackal..." Serenade repeated, stroking the Scuttlest.

It almost looked like the Scuttlest was smiling as it made a purring noise.

"Horus...you doubt I am really the pharoah you call me by, do you?" Serenade said.

Horus dropped to one knee, with his left foot forward, his staff to his side.

"Forgive me, pharoah! I cannot help but think that you're acting quite differently from that we are all accustomed to!" He said.

Serenade realized that even though she was not the pharoah everyone here thought her to be, she should at least act like she is so not to distress them.

"Rise, my advisor. It is not your fault. I have been having some memory problems lately." Serenade said, hoping that Horus would buy her excuse.

Apparently, he did, as he rose.

"Oh thank you, Great Pharoah!" He said.

"Horus...will you please take me to the outskirts of town, near that oasis where all the pyramids are?" Serenade asked.

She had seen navis moving around down there from the balcony, but couldn't see what they were doing. Horus nodded.

"Gladly, oh pharoah!" He said.

Horus guided Serenade through Neo Ka'ammut to the outskirts. The navis turned out to be slaves, being forced to build pyramids and statues of the current pharoah, in this case, Serenade. Whenever one would stop to breath or for any other reason, they were whipped by some egyptian heel navis.

"Wow...they're all forced to do this for me?" Serenade said.

She was still holding Jackal, who was looking curiously at her, as if it too
had realized that she wasn't acting like the normal pharoah it expected.

"How long have they been at work?" Serenade asked.

"Since dawn. And they will work to dusk, sleep for a few hours, and than do so again." Horus said.

Serenade was shocked.

"That's cruel...I will not allow it..." She said, stepping forward.

"Pharoah? What are you contemplating?" Horus asked.

"Attention, slaves!" Serenade shouted.

They all stopped to listen to her.

"I, the pharoah, have seen all your hard work, and it is greatly appreciated! I know that if any of you have families, you must miss them deeply. And even if you don't, this work must be hard on you. Therefore, in light of all you've done, you may stop working for today! From now on, work will only last from dawn to noon! You are all dismissed!"

The slave navis all cheered and ran back into the city.

"Young pharoah...are you sure this is a good decision? The statues and pyramids might take longer to finish, now." Horus said.

Serenade nodded and stroked Jackal.

"Yes. We were pushing them too hard. No being deserves to be worked like they were." Serenade replied.

"Oh pharoah...how very kind and noble of you! I'm sure tales of your kind-heartedness will spread through the lands, and be told to each generation!" Horus said.

Serenade smiled.

"Thank you, Horus." She said.

"Master Horus! Pharoah! One of the slaves has been bitten by a Dominerd, and his lower body has been deleted! What shall we do?" A slave driver said.

"Pah! Useless cretin! Do what we always do with the injured: delete all of him." Horus spat.

"No." Serenade said.

"Pharoah?" Horus asked.

"All creatures deserve to live. Be it navi, virus, or whatever else the creature may be. Get him medical help immidiately." Serenade said.

The slave driver bowed to Serenade and Horus, than left to do so.

"Pharoah...why waste our healer's time by making them help a mortally injured one such as that? They may not even be able to give him a new pair of legs, or even make a wheelchair!" Horus said.

"I don't care. Everyone deserves a second chance. Punishment by death because of something like that is a cruelty I will not allow." Serenade said.

Horus nodded.

"I see. You're kindness is inspirational to us all." He said.

Suddenly, Jackal hissed. Serenade looked down at the Scuttlest curiously.

"What's wrong, Jackal?" She asked.

A dark shadow could be seen in the distance. It came into view.

"Pharoah...how nice of you to meet me out here and not make me come to you!" This new navi said.

Serenade gasped.

"Forte?!?" She said, shocked.

This new navi indeed looked like Forte, but instead of being purple and black, he was gold and blue. His helmet had the words 'crying' and 'praying' on both sides, written in hierologyphics. Also, his cloak was black, but severly tattered and covered in blood spots. Instead of his usual slash mark symbol, this Forte-lookalike had an eye where the symbol was.

Not just a picture, but a real living eye, as it moved around and blinked.

"I am Kratos, the Dark Murderer, known for killing 999 pharoahs! You shall be my next victim!" He said, laughing maniacally.

Horus leapt in front of Serenade and got into a fighting stance.

"Pharoah! I'll protect you with my life!" Horus said.

"No need to do so, Horus. I shall take care of this so-called 'Dark Murderer.' " Another voice said.

A new navi walked up past Serenade and Horus. He looked like Rockman, but he was a blinding white and gold, and he glowed and sparkled in the sunlight. His gloves had spikes on them, and his face had a serious expression. Instead of a backpack like Rockman's, he had light, feathery wings that were also gold. His navi emblem was the sun with a dragon inside of it. This new navi also had a giant golden ring floating behind him.

"Sacred One Ra! You need not get involved!" Horus said.

"It is for the safety of the pharoah." Ra simply replied, and his right arm morphed into a giant golden buster.

"So, you are Kratos, the vile creautre spoken of in whispers during gossips. I shall enjoy protecting the pharoah from you." He said.

Kratos laughed.

"Fine than, come at me!" He said, and swished his cloak behind him for a battle stance.

"Sand Breath!" Kratos said, and his right arm morphed into what looked like an egyptian-themed Gospel head.

It shot out a huge ball of sand. Ra nimbly leapt this ball. The sand ball collided with a cyber palmtree, making it disintegrate. Jackal jumped out of Serenade's hands and formed a Dream Aura around Serenade and Horus, as well as itself.

"Good. Now I can focus on destroying you." Ra said.

He blasted at Kratos with a bunch of bustergun shots, all of them smashing into Kratos. He grunted and dashed at Ra, his egyptian Gospel head melting into his normal arm.

"Bloody Blade!" He shouted, making two red blades of darkness appear in his hands.

Ra's buster melted into a golden katana, and he parried all of Kratos's slashes, even landing a few glancing blows himself.

"Wow..." Serenade said.

"Ra is the strongest of the Sacred Ones. Kratos should be no match for him." Horus said.

"Sun Slash!" Ra shouted, launching a shimmering sonic boom at Kratos, slicing him right into the chest.

Kratos gasped out in pain. Than he leapt back and held his hand up.

"Land Scaper!" He shouted, and attacked Ra with what looked like a primitive Earth Breaker attack.

Ra nimbly dodged all his attacks. He than punched Kratos in the stomach, and placed his sword at his neck.

"Time to end this." Ra said, and held up his blade.

It shone in the sun, and the ring floating behind Ra started to spin.

"Helios Thrust!" He shouted, and thrust his blade down into Kratos, immensely hurting the white navi.

Kratos shouted out in pain. Than he grinned.

"Not bad...for a prissy servant of the pharoah! I'll be back to kill all of you, I swear it!" He said, and swished his claok around him, forming a shadow.

The shadow leapt off into the distance. Jackal dispelled the aura and collapsed from exhaustion. Serenade scooped the Scuttlest up in her arms.

"Poor thing...you expended all your energy keeping us safe..." She said.

Than to Ra, she said "Thank you for protecting us, Ra. I am thankful you showed up to help us."

Ra merely nodded and said "I am just doing my duty as a sacred one. Thank you for the praise, however, pharoah. I shall continue serving you." Ra said.

Kratos...the Sacred Ones...Neo Ka'ammut...and this whole Twilight Desert...why do I get a bad feeling about all of this? Serenade thought.

A very interesting read, CFS. It took me the better part of an hour to absorb the creativity of this fic, but it was definitely worth it. Kratos definitely sounds like an inspiring character, and it was interesting to see Serenade interacting with the various other gods of Egyptian mythology. Definitely looking forward to the coming chapters.

Ah, another good chapter CFS! :V Even though most of the charaters in this Fic are named after Egyptian gods, is it possible to name some of them after gods from other mythologies? I mean, you could run out of names to use soon, so... -_-;

Ah, sorry. I thought they were...looks like I'll have to fix that up. Either way, Chapter 03. This one's kinda long.

Chapter 03:Akumatsu vs. Muramasa; Battle In Exilon's Tomb

Darkman and Yamatoman had searched the Secret Net for 3 days, the amount of time Serenade was missing. However, they found nothing. At the moment, both of them were playing Checkers.

"I don't know...I just can't take my mind off the fact that Serenade has vanished for this long..." Yamatoman said.

"This'll help you feel better. Also, it'll increase your mentality to be ready think. Checkers is a good game for thinking of what one should do next." Darkman said, moving his black piece to take out 3 of Yamatoman's pieces.

"King me."

Yamatoman replied "Your analogy about this game frightens me..."

He was still a little depressed as he placed a piece on top of Darkman's.

"Think of this as a battle strategy. Think of the board as a map." Darkman said.

Yamatoman's eyes lit up and he sat straight up.

"That's it!" He said, pulling what appeared to be a rolled up piece of parchment out of a pocket on his armor.

"What is that?" Darkman asked.

"Well, while we were searching, I found this in Serenade's room-"

"You went into Lord Serenade's room?!?" Darkman asked, appalled.

"Well, she isn't here, and I figured she wouldn't mind..." Yamatoman said.

Darkman shook his head in disapproval.

"I can't believe you did that. Well, carry on with what you were saying." He said.

Yamatoman unfolded the paper.

"When you said that the checkerboard was like a map, I remembered this
thing." He said.

"The paper...it looks just like a checkerboard." Darkman said.

"Look very closely at it. Look past the game board for what's within it." Yamatoman said.

Darkman gasped.

"It's a map of the Secret Net!" He said.

"And look! There's a pathway leading to Secret Net 4-a whole new part of this area that we never explored yet!" Yamatoman said.

"That place must have some connection to Serenade! Let's go check it out!" Darkman said, and the two navis dashed off towards Secret Net 4.

"Forgive me, oh great Diaboro. The pharoah's bodyguards are extremely powerful, and they caught me off guard." Kratos said, kneeling before a gigantic statue in a dark temple.

This statue was black, and it looked like a great serpent like dragon with claws that could rend through just about anything. It's head was spear-like, it's glittering ruby colored eys sparkling. They were the only part of the statue that wasn't black. This dragon statue had giant wings and it's forelegs looked strong enough to crush boulders, even without the nails. It's tail was spiked. This dragon also had a small humanoid head in it's neck. The head's expression was asleep. This dragon also had several tentacles extending from it's body, and hair from the back of it's head to the start of it's neck.

The thing keeping it imprisoned as a statue was a giant sword stabbed in it's chest.

The dragon, now known as Diaboro, screeched somehow.

"Me? Use the Akumatsu?" Kratos asked.

Another screech from Diaboro, and a claymore with a black blade and flame like hilt appeared. A dark spirit lurked inside the blade, as it's dark aura flowed outside of it. Kratos grabbed the sword. He grinned evilly.

"Understood. This blade shall be the one that fells the pharoah." He said.

Serenade had been in this reality for 3 days, and she had taken that time to study the world around her. Apparently, she didn't rule all of Twilight Desert. A few other dynasties and gangs of thieves ruled some territories, but Serenade's territory was the largest. It was for that reason that they were targeted by these opposing territories. Horus had explained to Serenade that they had a state of the art security system. When Serenade checked the security itself, she found it had been very similar to the towers in the Secret Net: Destroy them out of order, and you pay with your life.

At this moment, Serenade was in the town, at a battle arena, fighting.

I can't slack off on fighting. If I just let Horus and the Sacred Ones fight for me, I'll eventually grow weak. She thought.

The navi she was fighting against shot at her with a M-Cannon. Serenade reflected it and it smashed right into the navi. Serenade launched several of her Holy Sparks at the navi, defeating him. Everyone cheered. Serenade extended her hand to her opponent.

"You were a good opponent. Do not let one loss discourage you." Serenade said.

"Pharoah...thank you for your kindness!" the navi said, taking Serenade's hand.

When he got up, he bowed, and left the stadium. Serenade left as well.

"I suppose I may as well explore my 'kingdom' before Horus finds out I am missing." She said.

Serenade left the town. She looked around and looked in the distance towards the place with the holy aura she had sensed the days before.

"I would think it wouldn't hurt to check it out." Serenade said to herself, and proceeded to the area.

When she reached it, she gasped in amazement. The area she had sensed a holy aura from was a huge valley, filled almost infinently with tombs. Serenade looked to her side and read the sign next to her out loud: "Neo Valley Of Kings."

The female navi looked down into the valley. She than nodded to herself and proceeded down into the valley. At the bottom, she met several Hell Navi guards.

"Halt! This valley is off limits to commoners!" One said.

Than he realized who the one he was talking to was Serenade.

"Pharoah! Forgive my rudeness! I thought you were a grave robber." The Hell Navi said, and the whole group kneeled down.

"It is okay. I am grateful for your ever-vigilent guard over this sacred place." Serenade said.

If she was correct, an ancient human society had a valley very much like this, and if they were both the same, they were both holy places.

The Hell Navi nodded.

"Thank you, oh Pharoah! May I ask what business you have at the Neo Valley Of Kings?" the Hell Navi asked.

"I wish to visit the tomb of the pharoah before me." Serenade said.

I may find some answers there as to why I am here..." Serenade thought.

The Hell Navis all got up and lead Serenade to the tomb. After thanking the guards, she entered. After traversing through a dark hallway, she reached a giant wall. There were inscriptions in hierologlyphs.

Serenade had only a limited knowledge of how to read these images from her 3 days here, but she could easily make out what they said: If you are the true descendant pharoah, place your hand on this wall, and the path shall be opened. But be forewarned: If you are not the pharoah's true descendant, the beast, Ammut, shall devour your heart and soul, and you shall never exist again.

Serenade gulped and placed her hand on the wall. She closed her eyes, and when nothing happened, she opened them again. The stones of the wall had parted to form an opening to continue. Serenade proceeded into the tomb.

Another navi entered the Neo Valley Of Kings.

"This is not a place for commoners! Leave immidiately!" A Hell Navi said.

The new navi grinned and pulled out a black, evil claymore with a flame-like hilt. He raised it to attack. The Hell Navis all shouted out in fear. The blade flung down towards the Hell Navis.

Serenade had finally reached the final room of the tomb. The tomb was littered with booby traps, and a lot of them came close to deleting Serenade. But in the final room, Serenade knew there was no booby traps. This room was beautiful, several bright and dark shades of purple and several hierologlyphs adorning the walls. There were torches in the room for light, and a giant pedestal with steps leading up it in the center.

Serenade walked up the pedestal, and found at the top, a sarcophagus stood up on it's bottom.

The inscriptions on it read Here lies pharoah Exilon, great pharoah of Twilight Desert until his murder by Diaboro. His soul shall live on in the afterlife, and in our hearts as well. -Horus, previous advisor.

"So...Horus was advisor to this pharoah before me..." Serenade said.

She kneeled down before the tomb.

"Pharoah Exilon, I am Pharoah Serenade, the new pharoah after you, supposedly your descendant. I came here to your tomb in hope of answers; everyone calls me pharoah, and says I rule over this kingdom, but I have no memory of this place." Serenade said.

"Rise, Serenade, my descendant." A voice said.

Serenade looked up to see the spirit of Exilon speaking to her, smiling. He had gold armor on, but his arms were black. He was wearing golden gloves. He had no helmet, with green, spiky hair. His golden-green eyes seemed welcoming. He also was wearing a scarf very similar to FCR's. Serenade rose.

"Pharoah Exilon...I am thankful you would come to see me, even after your death." Serenade said.

"Thank you, Serenade. There is no need to add 'Pharoah' to my name, though. Amongst us, that title is not required. I do have the answers to your questions, would you like to hear them?" Exilon said.

Serenade said "Yes, Exilon. Please, why am I here? Why can I not remember anything?"

"Every time a 5th descendant of our lineage-you are one of those-dies, they are later reincarnated. You were in a different time, your home time. During that reincarnated descendants lifetime, they will relive their past life as a pharoah in an attempt to change the thing that killed them and destroyed that civilization. All of the other 5th's before you did so, now it is your turn. However, you are up against the greatest threat that Neo Ka'ammut-no, all of Twilight Desert-has ever faced. It is the very thing that killed me." Exilon said.

He placed his hand on Serenade's forehead, and instantly the memory went rushing into her.

FLASHBACK

The great shadowy dragon cyberbeast rose up over the whole desert. It spread it's wings and claws and screeched. Several blasts of darkness pelted the land.

Exilon, Horus, and the Sacred Ones all looked at the dragon from the palace.

"This is it. Diaboro has awakened." Osiris said.

"I fear we may not be able to stop a beast such as that." Ra said.

"We should evacuate everyone far away from Twilight Desert. Hopefully, there won't be many casualties." Isis said.

"I'll start the evacuation procedure immidiately." Anubis said.

"No." Exilon commanded.

"Pharoah! What else can we do! None of us can stop that dragon and return alive!" Horus said.

"Who said that was the plan?" Exilon replied.

He pulled out two swords.

He handed one to Horus and said "Bury this in my tomb with me. It shall wait for the next pharoah, her name is Serenade. She's only just been created."

The other, larger sword he kept. Exilon jumped off the balcony and dashed towards Diaboro. He reached the dragon and leapt up to attack it, shouting with rage as he plunged the sword into the dragon's heart. Diaboro cried out in pain, blasting Exilon into tiny pieces of scrap data before giving in. The sword blow wasn't strong enough to kill him, but seal him, it could.

Serenade gasped.

"Exilon...if that thing is so powerful that you could only seal it...how am I supposed to destroy it?" She asked.

"Do not fear, Serenade. You are strong enough to destroy it and live. You have the potential to be stronger than us all. And when the time comes to use it, you will know what to do." Exilon said.

He held out his hand and a sword appeared in it.

"This was the blade I asked Horus to be buried with me. It is yours now. It's name is MuraMasa." He explained, handing the blade to Serenade.

She grabbed it, and instantly felt light and holiness spreading throughout the blade.

"Exilon...thank you..." Serenade said.

"Now's a good time to start testing it, as there's a graverobber behind you." Exilon replied before vanishing again.

Serenade turned to see Kratos.

"Pharoah! Thank you for clearing the traps for me! It made reaching you much easier!" He said.

"Kratos! What about the guards outside?!?" Serenade said.

Kratos held up his dark sword.

"They made perfect victims for this fine blade, Akumatsu." Kratos said.

"Kratos...you are evil to your very core! I cannot allow something such as you to live!" Serenade said, drawing MuraMasa into a fighting stance.

"You think such a little sword such as that can stand up to a blade containing the hatred and evilness of Diaboro?!?" Kratos asked, laughing.

"This blade contains the holiness and tranquility of Exilon in it! I will not lose with this blade!" Serenade shouted.

Both she and Kratos dashed at eachother, their blades clanging. They both started fighting with their weapons, everytime the two blades connected, it almost seemed as if Exilon and Diaboro's spirits were clashing as well.

"You...why do you want to kill me?" Serenade said.

"I have killed 999 pharoahs before you. Now I need the blood of the pharoah of this kingdom, and I can reawaken Diaboro!" Kratos said.

"You must be insane! Even one such as yourself cannot control the powers of that beast!" Serenade said.

"Fool! I am Diaboro's loyal servant, and he is the master!" Kratos said.

Both of them kept slashing, with both of them occasionally striking eachother. Soon, Serenade had scars and cuts all over and was bleeding, and Kratos was pretty badly cut up as well. Both of them were in a weapons deadlock.

"Your blade may be great..." Kratos said, and than pushed Akumatsu against MuraMasa.

MuraMasa shattered into several pieces.

"But my dark blade is greater." Kratos said.

He raised his sword.

"Time to die, pharoah!" He shouted.

Serenade looked at Kratos, and then at the sword handle with the shattered blade in her hand.

This does not bode well... She thought.
