Halloween is coming up. What games do you think have dark/morbid themes to them, or what games are scary? Here's to start the list, with some NES games. Remember; any genre or system is allowed. Comments/reasons why they're that way are welcome.

-Maniac Mansion: Although this isn't scary, creepy or anything once you're used to it, this game will most likely scare you if you're a newb and you're still a little kid.

-Friday the 13th: This game, even when I was a kid, didn't scare me, but it always makes me jump whenever Jason appears when you least expect it.

-A Nightmare on Elm Street: Mainly because of the music. When you fall asleep, the music emphasizes you're now in danger, and the "One...two...Freddy's coming for you!" theme REALLY lets you know you're in danger!

-Sweet Home: Probably the scariest NES game. I didn't freak out, but it did scare me a little bit. Be prepared for a shock when you examine a corpse, you see a close-up of them, and they talk. This game also had one of the most brutal cutscenes (especially for its time!), late in the game. Some of the enemies are pretty gruesome as well. It also had a convincing dialogue at times.

-Taboo: Some of the graphics and music are creepy, and what really adds to it is after the cards are layed out, sometimes on one of them the sun turns into a skull...that still kinda creeps me out.

-Uninvited: It had a convincing text, and that alone can creep some people out. In one of the hallways, it says "It's too quiet here. You feel you're being watched".

There's two games that I can think of that's 'scary' right now:

Legacy of Kain 2: Soul Reaver - The vampire enemies were kinda creepy, and then there was the fact that, most of the time when there was no water ( In the game, water is like acid to a vampire.) or sunlight, ( They burn in it, of course.) you had to impale them. And then that would give me nightmares about being impaled. Or dropped in acid. Or burning. >_< I scare easily... T_T

Luigi'd Mansion - Okay. Technically it's not exactly 'scary', but the ghost popping out at random times, and the fact that most of the areas were always dark scared me just a little bit... >.>;;
