The good: Yai's back! Hopefully she's hear to stay. Then we'll get to see this season's giant robot. (I wonder how much destruction would occur if she even met Coop from Megas XLR.)
The bad: Nothing really worth noting. Fillers don't bother me too much as long as they don't take up over half the season.
The ugly: Watching a whale swell up like a balloon.
Final score: :poof: :poof: :poof: :poof: :poof: :poof: /10 Apart from bringing back Yai, nothing special about this episide, but nothing really done wrong either. _________________ Red Green's words of wisdom:

On a random note, wasn't it Yaito that delivered strawberry parfait to her classmates? _________________ I'll remember that day, and I won't let it go. |

Perhaps it was. Anyway....
This was a farily nice episode. Although CF hasn't made TOO much of an apperance in this season yet, it appears that the writers want to make it less of a dominating motif, and this episode showed just that. This was a nice throwback to the original season's motifs, and it had the right touch of WTF mixed right into it.
A thoroughly satisfying episode this was. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! From Television City in Hollywood! It's time to 'Press Your Luck!'--Rod Roddy

Also I forgot to complain abuot the animation quality. They seemed to have figured that since there were no navis in this episode they could take the day off and do lots of still shots. They have yet to get back to the level of axess. However the next episode looks to return to at least the good beast quality _________________ You're an honest man, that's good. Was it me or did Glyde look so ugly in this episode?
This ep was OK. I wonder what happened to the Z-Mets when Trill absorbed them. Will the be used in a future ep or will they vanish? _________________ ~Come to Spriting Haven~ |

As for Glide's appearance, I also thought so as well. It seemed that his face was a tad elongated from his last appearance...
And as for what Trill can do--take entities and seemingly make them disappear--I'm sure that there SHOULD be an explanation to that, but there's no need to look for it. It IS a cartoon, after all, and cartoon physics reigns supreme. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Wasn't really that great or bad IMO and not as good as the last ep, but there were some enjoyable moments.
I liked the bit with the Hologram whale/squid/whatever abomination, made me laugh just from how screwed up it looked.
Fight scene with the metools also wasn't bad, although it could've been animated better considering the first few episodes, it was still done better than the average stuff like that in Stream... Also nice to see the whole group together again after who knows how long.
Since I haven't rated things in a while and feel like doing that again,

They dived into what exactly Beyondard is for a split second, calling it an opposite world, I guess that's why everyone's a beast. I hope the mystery girl isn't over exposed as much as Meiru was, since she's the new heroine in EXE 6.
So, both the Falzer and Grega armies have a pack of Copyroids, which is bad for our heros.
isn't it about time they upgraded? if the Z-roids can use copyroids, and the Net Saviors still need D-areas, they're in trouble
Anyway
the battling was cool, as with the rest of this season, but, the great fighting with cool chips... was wasted on a bunch of diseased Mettools... I'd like the fights more if they had larger viruses such as Null or Bloodia,

Good. You caught me in a rare manic moment.
*YAY for pretty Ishihara plug-in sequences for Yaito, Dekao, and Tohru!*
(even if Dekao's was... special...)
The fact Netto and co. got really pretty plug-in sequences implies (to me, at least) that they'll be given more focus in Beast. I do wonder, though, why Dingo hasn't done anything yet (since, up until this point, he seemed like he was gonna be Tohru's replacement)...
And they really need to ditch Chisao. The games have... I don't think the manga ever brought him in. Did he even speak in this episode? By the end of the episode, he had disappeared, too...
But, yeah... it was nice to get another confirmation of Netto's current grade level with the 6-A sign (for some reason, I can't remember if they were ever that blatant with it in Axess and Stream). It's hard to believe that all of Axess and Stream's events were meant to span the same school year... these things must literally happen every day.
And the Link PET Ex stylus... that was... different. Reminds me of the magic chalk in Chalk Zone. Maybe Netto can draw, like, stairs and stuff. =P
But, yeah... why don't they just finish breaking the barrier between real and cyber worlds and let the navis hang out in the real world? Holographic everything at this point... so holographic that it can be physically touched. If the technology is that great, just make 'em real already! I loved when the manga did that...
But, yeah, I suppose my tangent is over. It's nice to see that Beast is still going really strong after 5 episodes. But I'm surprised they've only used 3 art directors so far (not counting Ishihara for the sequences), and one of them is very similar to the other (this being Beast 3's, who is very similar to Beasts 2 and 5... I think they worked together often in the past, or still are, actually). And we've had the same person for Beasts 1, 4, and now 6... By this point in EXE, they had used 5 different art directors... Axess and Stream had used 4... Is the series in dire need of directors lately? (Though I certainly wouldn't complain if Ishihara went and did the whole series. ^_^)
*tangent REALLY over now...* _________________

It seems that they're bring back the swordy viruses since I notice the long sword chip bears the virus who holds it. I wonder why the sudden change :/ _________________ Avatar by May, many flowers and thanks for the wonderful avatar. |

Remember, they changed the Spreader chip's art and renamed it "Spread Gun".
Did Chisao ever do ANYTHING?
God, Dekao's jack-in sequence is disturbing. >_< _________________

Yes, but lately they have been using longBLADE. I think what he meant is that they used longsword again which means it may be in 6 which means the swordy may be back. _________________ You're an honest man, that's good. Well not quite, I remember in EXE 6, they had a chip with "Prog MK1" on it, (Zapring) but that chip wasn't in EXE 5, and Higure's shop always has chips from BN 1. _________________ Here's lookin' at you kid. |

Not from EXE4 on. The small picture slapped on the chip changed from the Swordy of EXE1-3 to an angled view of the blade, with the blade pointing about 15 degrees down from right. If you take a look at the EXE4 game and compare it to EXE3, you'll see what I mean. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks!
