Your newest chapter is very good. I love it when you put a lot of work on it. It's good to see Atsuki and BurnerMan again. I forgot to mention that BurnerMan has another attack called Burning Sword. But nonetheless, this chapter is great.

I actually really enjoyed that chapter as well. You didn't have TOO many cupcake jokes and you used Burnerman pretty well. I am still wondering though; which of the gospel chips is rarest?

CHAPTER 3-36
When Pantheons Attack

“And so at least half of the competitors have already been eliminated from the Battle Network tournament,” Ribbita announced on the news on the day following the first day of the tournament, “Everyone’s expecting the rest of the tournament to be an intense battle. Now, onto the top ten NetBattlers in the tournament.”

No one saw the news report. The reason being was that everyone was in classes when it was broadcasted. After everything that had happened the other day, Lan was glad to get back into the classroom environment for a change.

“And remember, those term papers are due by the end of the second week from today,” the prof concluded, “Have a nice day.” Lan packed up his books and slung his bag over his shoulder and headed out.

“That was an interesting lesson today, Lan,” MegaMan commented.

“There was definitely some exam-worthy material in it,” Lan replied. He headed across campus to the physics building, where he took a shortcut across the courtyard into the chemistry building where he was supposed to pick up Noah from his lab. When the boy finally came, Lan couldn’t help but notice that he was emitting a very strong smell.

“Dare I ash what you were doing in your lab?” he asked.

“Crystallizing substances,” was the boy genius’ reply.

“You stink.”

“I know.” Noah walked down the hall to the locker he and Lan shared and took out his plushie, which he promptly handed to Lan, “Please hold on to Sabata until I can wash off the smell.” The two of them got outside, snapped on their rollerblades, and quickly headed home.

“How’s dinner coming along?” asked Chaud as he entered the kitchen.

“We’re still working on it,” Sean replied as he turned his attention back to the cutting board while Maylu resumed cooking on the stove.

“What time are Lan and Noah due home by?” asked Maylu.

“Anytime now, I think,” Chaud answered. Right on cue, they heard the front door open and close.

“We’re home!” Lan called.

“I’m going to go wash up, first.” Noah put his shoes away, hung up his cape, and headed upstairs while Lan walked into the kitchen.

“What’s for dinner?” he asked.

“Pretty much the usual,” Sean answered, “Seriously, we need more variety.”

“We’d have more variety if we didn’t keep sending the same people to the store us every week,” Chaud replied as he took off his glasses and stuck them inside his jacket pocket.

“Alright, we’ll work on the job schedule later.”

“Anyway, I heard you two each got your hands on a Crest of Arcadia chip.”

“That’s right,” Maylu replied.

“Chaud, do you think you can take them to SciLab for us?” asked Sean.

“Sure.”

“Thanks. Mine’s tucked inside my green socks.”

“And mine’s inside my bedside table,” Maylu added. Chaud headed upstairs and got the chips from their respective locations before grabbing his keys and heading out to his car. Upon his arrival at SciLab, he immediately asked for Dr. Hikari or Mr. Famous at the front desk and delivered the chips to them.

“Well notify you of anything we find as soon as we come across it,” Dr. Hikari assured him.

“Thank you.” Chaud then bid farewell and left.

* * *

“That’s two chips we’ve already lost,” Diana thought out loud as she got herself a drink from the fridge, “We have to get them back. The copies Saiba gave us don’t last long.”

“I’m just afraid that someone else will get hurt from using that chip,” Nicol sighed.

“Don’t worry, you two. As you already know, the real Crest of Arcadia chips were created with tracking devices planted inside them.” Saiba stepped into the living room with his PET in hand, “And luckily, I can track them with my PET. Both your chips are at SciLab.”

“We have to get them back!” Diana exclaimed.

“Preferably before they start taking them apart.” Saiba then called Greg and Waya to come and join them and the five of them gathered around the kitchen table.

“We’re going to launch a full-scale attack on SciLab,” the white-haired NetBattler informed his subordinates, “Our only objective is to retrieve the chips and nothing more.”

“We can expect Hikari and his friends to come try to stop us,” Waya interjected, “We might not get that far.”

“That’s why you’ll have reinforcements,” said Saiba, “You’ll each be given a regiment of Pantheons to aid you in combat.”

“That still won’t stop Hikari from coming at us from the real world even with Cross Fusion,” Greg joined in.

“Wait a second, Saiba,” Nicol suddenly piped up, “You wouldn’t be telling us this unless you already had a plan to make sure it worked. You’ve found a way to allow the Pantheons to come into the real world, haven’t you?”

“Very observant, Nicol,” Saiba complimented, “Yes, that’s right. You’ll have Pantheons fighting with you in the real world, too.”

“This is going to be fun,” Greg cackled.

“You are NOT going to destroy everything in your path,” Saiba reprimanded, “You’re only going to retrieve the chips, not bring down SciLab.”

“Crap.”

“Alright everyone, get some rest,” ordered Saiba as he stood up, “We attack tomorrow as soon as Greg and Nicol get out of classes.”

The next day after classes, Lan, Sean, Chaud, Laika, and the others went to SciLab when Dr. Hikari called them in.

“So Dad, did you find out anything?” Lan asked hopefully.

“The Crest of Arcadia chip is very complex,” explained Yuuichiro, “The technology it’s composed of is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. It may take us a while to figure it out, possibly even longer than the Battle Network tournament.”

“But if we wait that long, who knows how many people will fall victim to it?” Sean replied.

“There is one faster solution,” Dr. Hikari responded, “However, we hope we won’t have to resort to it. If we used the Crest of Arcadia on a Navi, maybe we can study its effects.”

“Out of the question!” Lan snapped, “We can’t risk anyone falling victim to that chip.”

“But the sacrifice of one Navi to save many others, you can’t say it’s not worth a try, Lan,” Tory protested.

“He’s right, though,” Yuuichiro sighed, “We just have to keep going at our current pace.”

* * *

“What do you think?” Sean asked as he opened up the juice can he had just bought from a vending machine. After speaking with Lan’s father, the group went into the SciLab lobby and sat around as they waited for any new news.

“I think we’ve pretty much hit a roadblock,” Tory answered, “There’s nothing more we can do for now.”

“We’re stuck where we are,” Yai added. Sean sighed and took a sip of his beverage.

“Where’d Noah disappear off to, by the way?” he wondered out loud.

“Mr. Famous took him to his lab to help him run a few tests,” answered Lan as he sat at the counter against the wall working on an assignment.

“No need for formalities,” Mr. Famous’ voice suddenly came over the PA system, much to everyone’s surprise.

“How does he do that?” asked Maylu. Lan ran his hand through his hair and returned his attention to his work.

* * *

“Prepare to run the next test,” Dr. Hikari ordered.

“Right away, Dr. Hikari,” the scientists chorused. As they booted up the system, red warning windows started flashing on the screens.

“Dr. Hikari, something has infiltrated the system!” one of the aides called.

“What?”

Inside the system, several Condoroids, Garums, Snow Garums, and Bombnets appeared and started wreaking destruction. Right behind them were several Pantheon Navis, each of them equipped with varying armor and weapons.

“Pantheon Launchers, Pantheon Hammers, attack!” Saiba’s voice rang out. The one-eyed Navis moved ahead with the viruses in front of them.

“Dad, what’s going on?” asked Lan as he and the others ran in from the lobby, “We heard alarms.”

“The system has been infiltrated by unknown viruses and Navis,” Yuuichiro answered.

“Saiba!” Lan whipped out his PET and clicked it onto his wristband before aiming it at the jack-in sensor, “Jack in!! MegaMan, power up!” Maylu, Dex, Yai, Tory, Sean, Chaud, and Laika followed suit and all eight Navis appeared inside the network facing the intruders.

“Those are definitely Saiba’s viruses!” MegaMan exclaimed.

“And those Navis behind them, I’ve fought them before,” ProtoMan added, “Except these ones have armor and weapons.”

“Well why are we wasting our time talking then?” asked Axl as he morphed his hand into his default weapon, “Axl Gun!” He pointed his gun at the incoming enemies and fired several plasma bullets at them.

“Guts Machinegun!” GutsMan’s hand changed into a blaster and he let loose a rapid barrage of buster shots.

“Glyde Cannon!” Glyde’s hand morphed into a yellow cannon and he began blasting away.

“Blizzard!” IceMan’s freezing breath flew out from his mouth and blew over several airborne viruses, freezing them instantly and causing them to drop on top of some of the enemy ground forces.

“Heart Slash!” Roll blew a small kiss and released a rain of pink hearts that wiped out numerous viruses.

“Mega Buster!” MegaMan pointed his weapon ahead and started shooting.

“Scope Gun!” SearchMan took careful aim through his rifle’s targeting scope and fired. The beam passed through the enemy forces and deleted rows of viruses. Meanwhile, ProtoMan dashed into the fray and started slashing away as he made his way towards the Pantheons.

* * *

“How’s it looking, Saiba?” asked Waya as he and his comrades stood a ways outside from SciLab.

“They took the bait,” Saiba answered without looking up from his PET display, “Now go!”

“Synchro Chip, in!” Waya, Greg, Nicol, and Diana slotted their Synchro Chips into their PETs and held them up.

“CROSS FUSION!”

Once they had completed their transformations, the four Cross Fused fanatics moved in towards SciLab.

“Dr. Hikari, four unauthorized personnel are approaching SciLab!” a security office called out.

“On screen!” commanded Yuuichiro. Everyone looked up at the main screen as the image was displayed.

“It’s Saiba’s crew in Cross Fusion!” Lan exclaimed.

“Lan, you guys take care of them,” Dex said, “We can hold off these guys.”

“You sure?” asked Lan.

“Just go!”

“Alright. Thanks, Dex.” Lan, Sean, Chaud, Laika, and Maylu logged out their Navis and they headed towards the exit.

“Rush, I need you!” Maylu called into her PET. A short moment later, Rush popped out of his hole and was running right next to her.

“Rush, I need you to transform into a Synchro Chip.” After some arguing, the dog virus finally conceded and transformed just as they got outside. The five of them came face-to-face with the four fanatics and slotted in their Synchro Chips.

“Synchro Chip, in!”

“CROSS FUSION!”

Within a few seconds, R MegaMan, R ProtoMan, R Axl, R Roll, and R SearchMan were facing off against R Harpuia, R Phantom, R Fefnir, and R Leviathan. A breeze blew by them before they engaged in combat. R ProtoMan ducked as R Harpuia swung his lightsabers at him and counterattacked with his sword.

“Not that much improvement since last time,” the green-armored NetBattler sneered as he deflected his opponent’s blade away. A few feet away from them, R Phantom threw his shuriken at R Axl, who jumped up and flipped over it.

“So many people fall for that,” the ninja smirked as his weapon came around back to him. However, his opponent dropped down and it missed him.

“Many, but not all.” R Axl held out his pistols and started shooting.

R Fefnir ducked back behind the truck he was using for cover as another Scope Gun shot passed right by him.

“Give him another burst!” Fefnir yelled. The red-armored teen turned around and launched a fireball at his opponent, who retreated behind the wall he was hiding behind. R SearchMan formed a Search Grenade in his hand and threw it at his opponent. R Fefnir saw the explosive coming and jumped away.

“That’s not going to work on me!”

“No, but this will!” R SearchMan targeted his grenade and fired. His shot struck the bomb and it exploded right in front of R Fefnir.

“Ice Barrage!” R Leviathan launched several icicles at R Roll and proceeded to stab her with her spear.

“Roll Whip!” The redhead whipped her antennae around and knocked the ice projectiles away, however she was unable to get away from the direct attack.

BusterSword!” There was a loud clash as R MegaMan dashed in front of the pink-clad NetBattler and deflected the spear away with a sword that had come out from his buster.

From his place, Saiba watched the fight through a pair of electronic binoculars.

“Not bad,” he commented, “But we can’t waste time.” He took out his laptop and connected a Battlechip slot to it.

“Crest of Arcadia Battlechip in, download!” He slotted in the shining white chip and then inserted another chip into his laptop, “Holy Vision Arcadian chip in, download!” Back on the SciLab grounds, white columns of light appeared all over the area and numerous Pantheons appeared.

“Pantheons!” R SearchMan exclaimed.

“In the real world?” R Axl pushed R Phantom away and jumped back. His comrades followed suit and the five of them stood back-to-back completely surrounded by Pantheons.

“Man, Saiba really came through for us,” R Leviathan said, obviously impressed.

“Get going,” Saiba ordered over the comlinks.

“Right.” The four fanatics left their opponents at the mercy of the Pantheons and made their way inside SciLab.

“Shit. What do we do now?” asked R MegaMan.

“You can’t do anything now,” Saiba said through a com system he had equipped onto one of his Navis, “Pantheon Hammers, Pantheon Hoppers, Pantheon Launchers, Pantheon Warriors, Pantheon Fliers, and Pantheon Corpses, attack!” The Pantheons began moving in on the five Cross Fusion Rangers.

“We can’t break through them, so we’ll just have to kill them,” R ProtoMan hissed, “Sonic Boom!” He swung the VariableSword he was using and sent an energy wave from his blade through the enemy crowd.

“Search Satellite!” A green satellite appeared in the air and shoot a green laser at the Pantheon army.

“Rush Hole!” R Roll punched the ground and a large hole opened up underneath several Pantheons and swallowed them up.

“Triple Hi-Cannons! GigaCannon2!” R MegaMan aimed his Program Advance weapon at the targets and fired a powerful blast of energy at them while R Axl activated WoodGospel.

“Gospel Breath!” A blast of green energy erupted from his Gospel head and took out several Pantheons. Despite their efforts, the one-eyed Navis kept approaching.

“There’s way too many of them!” R Roll exclaimed.

“We can’t fight them all!” R ProtoMan added. All the Pantheons held out their weapons and fired. R Axl and R Roll quickly raised a LifeAura and Sanctuary combo to protect themselves from the attacks, but it wouldn’t hold for long.

* * *

R Harpuia sliced down another door with his lightsabers and he stepped into the lab with his teammates behind him. The scientists quickly ran away save for Dr. Hikari and Lan’s friends.

“We’ve come for the Crest of Arcadia chips,” the winged Cross Fused Navi declared.

“Please, give them to us,” R Fefnir requested, “We have no desire to hurt anyone.”

“Speak for yourself, Nicol,” R Phantom mumbled as he held up his shuriken, “Where are they, doc?”

“They’re on that table, you numbskull,” R Leviathan pointed out. She and R Fefnir walked towards the examination table where the two Crest of Arcadia chips lay and picked them up.

“We got what we came for. Now let’s get out of here,” Harpuia commanded. With their objective now attained, the four of them left.

“Hey, stop right there!” yelled Dex as he ran towards them. Tory quickly dropped onto the floor and hooked his foot around his leg, causing the larger individual to fall over.

“What did you do that for, Tory?” Dex shouted.

“Dex, they’re in Cross Fusion,” Tory reminded his friend, “They’d kill you instantly.” Dex growled and watched as the four fanatics left.

Back outside, the Pantheons were coming close to breaking through their opponents’ defenses just when the fanatics arrived.

“Hey guys, why don’t we take this opportunity to finish these guys off?” suggested R Phantom.

“Not a bad idea,” R Leviathan replied.

“Let’s do it,” R Harpuia agreed.

Just as the Pantheons finally shattered the five Cross Fusion Rangers’ defenses, R Fefnir raised his hand, signalling them to stop. The one-eyed Navis ceased fire and allowed their allies to step forward.

“This’ll be quick,” R Harpuia assured.

“To hell with that. I want to make this as painful as I can!” R Phantom argued.

“Don’t take another step!” Everyone turned towards the direction from which the voice had come and they saw Noah standing on top of one of the catwalks connecting the four SciLab towers.

“Noah, get out of here!” shouted R MegaMan.

“It’s Saiba’s brother!” R Leviathan exclaimed.

“There’s nothing he can do for his friends in this fight,” R Fefnir responded. Everyone watched as Noah dropped a rope and slid down it until he landed just outside the ring of Pantheons. Everyone turned to look at him wondering what he was up to. He yanked off the glove he was wearing to protect himself from rope burn and pulled a Synchro Chip out from his plushie’s scarf, surprising everyone.

“What?!”

Noah tied Sabata to his belt and took his PET off his arm. He held it up into the air and positioned his chip.

“Synchro Chip, in!” He slotted in the Synchro Chip over his head and a white light flashed from the screen.

“CROSS FUSION!”

The light engulfed Noah’s body and he stood with his arms slightly away from his sides. His plushie disappeared in a shower of pixels and his hair tie followed, letting his hair fall loosely around his neck. White armor materialized over the lower half of his legs and feet and came together to form boots. Diamond-shaped indents appeared on the front just below his knees and turquoise-colored gems filled them. Pure white gloves encased his hands and forearms and turquoise gems appeared near his elbows and on the backs of his hands. Noah flexed his left arm and clenched his fist before thrusting it back out to his side. Lumine’s icon formed in front of him and locked onto the center of his chest, transforming the rest of his clothes into a dark purple bodysuit. A blue gem surrounded the icon and from it white armor grew out and surrounded his torso. The collar and the area protecting his solar plexus changed to green and the armor extended out and covered his shoulders. Noah closed his eyes as his bangs were swept to the side and covered the right half of his face while the hair that hung loosely behind his head distributed itself evenly and curved outward. A band of light ran through his hair and changed it from white to light purple while turning it solid at the same time. Two earphones appeared on either side of his head and a band of white connected them together, transforming them into a headset. A small microphone came out from his left earphone and stopped just next to his mouth as an orange lens slid out from the same earphone and covered his left eye. He opened his eyes and turned around. A massive shower of pixels came together on his back and materialized six majestic mechanical angel wings. He spread out his new appendages as he turned back around and took up his final pose.

“I don’t believe it,” R SearchMan whispered.

“Noah can perform Cross Fusion?” R MegaMan thought aloud. The fanatics just gaped at the young child who had just transformed before their eyes.

“Pantheons, take care of him,” Greg ordered as he came back to his senses. The Pantheons acknowledged his order and ran towards the newcomer.

“So you’re sending all your forces at me. Fine then.” R Lumine held his hands out and six shining feathers appeared between his fingers. He then crossed his arms in front of his chest.

“Feather Kunai!” He swung his arms out and launched the feathers forward. They struck six Pantheons in the chest and deleted them instantly. The rest were clearly taken by surprise, but they continued their advance. R Lumine quickly called on more Feather Kunai and threw them at his enemies as they came, but they still advanced.

“Lumine’s Feather Kunai is a long-range attack. It won’t do much for him if his enemies get too close,” said R Axl.

“Noah, get out of there!” R Roll called out. By this time, R Lumine found himself completely surrounded with little room to maneuver.

“Get your hands off me!” he yelled.

“Noah, use the weapons hidden in the wings,” Lumine quickly informed his operator.

“My wings?” R Lumine reached his hands into his wings and pulled off two large razor-edged feathers, “Oh, I see.” He turned his attention back to the Pantheons and swung. The feathers cut through them and deleted them.

“He’s got swords, too?” R MegaMan asked. R Lumine spun around and slashed at several more Pantheons until he had enough room to spread out his wings and take off. He put away his blades as he hovered over the one-eyed Navis and his wingtips began to glow.

“Heaven’s Judgement!” A massive barrage of feathers burst from his wings and struck down a large number of Pantheons, decimating a large portion of their forces.

“New target!” R Phantom yelled, “Attack the kid!” He, R Harpuia, R Fefnir, and R Leviathan turned their attention away from their task and leapt at R Lumine.

“Noah, watch out!” R MegaMan yelled. R Phantom threw his shuriken, R Fefnir launched an enormous fireball, R Harpuia sent forth a razor-like wind, and R Leviathan summoned her ice dragon. R Lumine screamed as the attacks hit him and threw him back.

“TankCannon3!” As he got up, R MegaMan’s right hand transformed into a large cannon. After turning on his targeting laser, he fired. They saw his attack coming towards them and quickly spread out to avoid getting hit.

“Come on, guys!” he urged the others, “We have to help!” Placing his other hand beneath his cannon to support its weight, he ran towards the Pantheons.

“He’s right,” R ProtoMan agreed as he rose back to his feet with the others, “We can’t let one of our friends die. Z-Saber Battlechip!” His sword disappeared and a hilt appeared in his hand. He pressed the button and a glowing energy blade sprang forward before he dashed towards the fight.

“SuperVulcan Battlechip!” R SearchMan’s Scope Gun vanished and his hand changed into a chain gun and he immediately followed after his red-armored comrade with R Axl and R Roll right behind him.

“Leave him alone!” shouted R MegaMan as he blasted away at the Pantheons with his weapon. R ProtoMan leapt in front of him and slashed his way through the one-eyed troops while R SearchMan hailed bullets on the fanatics, driving them away.

“Noah, are you okay?” R Roll asked as she and R Axl approached him.

“I think so,” answered R Lumine.

“Hold still,” she said gently.

“I’ll stand guard.” R Axl held up his guns and stood with his back turned to his two friends. R Roll placed her hands on R Lumine’s chest and his body started to glow pink. Within a minute, she had finished healing his wounds.

“Thanks, Maylu.” The boy genius got back onto his feet and shook off his wings, “Now, how about we finish this fight?”

“You read my thoughts,” R Axl replied with a smirk before donning his mouthguard and visor, “QuickDNA Battlechip!” He transformed into QuickMan and flew back into the fight.

“AirSword Battlechip!” R Roll’s hand transformed into a sword and a whirlwind surrounded the blade. As she ran towards the Pantheons, she swung her weapon and sent a blast of wind that knocked them away.

“Lance Battlechip!” On R Lumine’s command, several bamboo spears shot out from the ground and impaled the Navis that R Roll had just knocked back. Meanwhile, R MegaMan and R ProtoMan had finally managed to destroy enough Pantheons to regroup with the others and R SearchMan drove off the fanatics long enough to join them.

“Attack them!” R Harpuia ordered. The remaining Pantheons held out their weapons and fired.

“Soul Unison: Dragon Soul Battlechip!” R MegaMan quickly equipped himself with his Dragon Soul armor and both he and R Lumine closed their wings over everyone, forming a shield that protected them against the assault.

“Alright, guys. Let’s attack now!” the brunette declared. When the firing ceased, he dropped out of Dragon Soul and activated the GigaCannon3 Program Advance.

“Sword, WideBlade, LongBlade!” R ProtoMan’s hands morphed into the first two swords and he raised them over his head, where they fused with the third to form one massive glowing sword, “LifeSword!” He grasped the hilt and slammed the blade down, sending a powerful shockwave at the enemies.

Search Satellites!” Three satellites appeared over R SearchMan and, using his multi-targeting function, blasted away numerous Pantheons.

“TwinFang3!” R Axl changed back to normal and he fired two fangs that homed in on R Phantom and R Leviathan, hitting them squarely on their chests.

“Rush Hole! Fan Battlechip!” R Roll punched the ground and opened up another hole. A VacuumFan then appeared beside her and started pulling in all the Pantheons in front of her closer and inevitably into the hole.

“Heaven’s Judgement!” R Lumine flew up and unleashed a barrage from his wings that took out several enemies. Together, the six of them succeeded in destroying all the Pantheons.

“Now it’s your turn,” R MegaMan said as he pointed his buster at the fanatics.

“Let’s just go,” R Fefnir pleaded, “We already got what we came for.”

“Fine, let’s go,” R Phantom growled before turning back to his enemies, “We’ll meet again.” Throwing down his shuriken, he hopped onto its center and flew off with R Harpuia right behind him. R Leviathan struck the ground with her spear and raised an ice wall before making her getaway with R Fefnir.

“SciLab is secure,” R ProtoMan assured his teammates, “Good work, everyone.” Everybody crossed out and caught their PETs as they fell.

“Mr. Famous, why did you give Noah a Synchro Chip?” Lan demanded.

“No need for formalities. And it was him who requested getting one,” Mr. Famous answered.

“You entrusted a Synchro Chip to a kid?”

“Well I for one am glad he showed up when he did,” Sean chimed, “If Noah hadn’t Cross Fused and saved our asses, we wouldn’t be standing here right now.”

“I only wanted to help you guys in your fight,” Noah said as he looked up as his friends, “And besides, that’s my older brother and his peons you’re fighting.”

“And when you factor in the massive Pantheon army they managed to amass today, you’re going to need as much help as you can get,” Mr. Famous finished.

“I still don’t know,” was Lan’s response as he crossed his arms over his chest.

“A soldier never turns down help when he needs it,” Laika piped up, putting in his two cents worth.

“It’ll be nice to have Noah with us,” Maylu added as she placed her arm around the child prodigy and held him close.

“Still…”

“Lan, you’re starting to sound like an overprotective parent,” Sean muttered.

“Alright, fine. We’ll let Noah join us,” Lan finally conceded.

“It’ll be just like an RPG,” Noah said cheerfully, “Chaud is the swordsman, Maylu is the healer, Laika is the long-range gunner, Sean is the thief slash infiltrator, and I’m the black mage.”

“What the hell does that make me?” asked Lan.

“You’re the hacked character in possession of a super-powerful illegal item,” Sean suggested.

“What? Why do I have to be the hacked character?!” Noah just giggled at the brunette’s outburst.

“This is going to be the best party ever.”

Oh goody, yet another super-noah episode, although he did get hurt. I didn't necessarily dislike the epidode, in fact; I liked it. It's just that, there have been too many times, in my oppinion; that the little genius has showed up with something new and better, just in time to save the others. I did like the episode's concept, but I just think you could have done more to give it that large scale, battle royale feel.
Lastly, I too thought they would be of equal worth, but one of them has to be given up if Shun loses, unless he has an even better chip.

I agree with searchmanx on this one for the most part, although I don't think his injury was that big of a deal. It seems that the only reason he got hurt was to placate the anti-noahists who have been complaining about his role. I also wish that you had described some more of Dex and co.'s fight on the net, rather thanjust focusing on the saviors. Also, do you have ny plans concerning the revival of Maylu and Lan's relationship? And Lastly, I hope that you pick a good navi from Saibi, if indeed you do make it a cameo from another game. And I look forward to hearing why Saibi dresses up as Lan inverted.

I think I missed a chapter somehow... Oh well, I'll go bak and reveiw it later.

Super-Noah, away! Seriously, AMZ, you need to rethink the role that Noah's playing in your story. He just keeps popping up and saving everyone's hides no matter what spin you try to put on it, and it just gets annoying after a while.

Aside from that, nothing stood out about the chapter. The battles were pretty bland, and I found myself skimming over several Pantheon scenes because there was nothing there to hold my interest. The entire chapter just felt like an excuse to turn Noah into a Cross Fusion Ranger.

6/10.

Oh, and one more note. I'm worried that you might be trying to pull a Gospel with the CoA chip; as in, the Navis that the Crest claims are going to be used to power up some kind of ultimate weapon/final boss. Please tell me that that's not the case.

I have this nagging little suspicion that that is the case and that there is little we can do to stop it. But Ya, Noah literally has ascended from kid to super-Noah. I wish that he had died back when he was evil or that you would turn him down a notch. not trying to flame, but I just think that you need to even out their strengths.

Good Chapter ! I for one , like Noah's battles . Sure , I think Noah has a little too much power , but heck , I still like Noah .

Yes , some of the battles were bland . Really bland . But overall it is still a good chapter .

Nice chapter didn't see any anime rips in this chapter which is a good thing. I don't care if Noah seems over powered or not he is still a cool character, and I liked Lan's reaction to Famous giving a synchro chip. I don't think he wanted Noah to have one for some odd reason even though he was like 12 when he got one, sure Noah is younger than when Lan was when Lan got his but still. Great Chapter.

Yarg. It happened--you have elevated your projection of the ideal character to the level of "Mary-Sue"-ness. Adding Noah to the cast in the way that you did in some of the previous chapters was bad enough, but now that you have given him the ability to cross fuse, it simply exacerbates the situation. YOu have to tone him down QUITE a few notches--before this becomes "The Noah Kaiyou Show."

I found myself skipping through a lot of the combat, since nothing stood out. As for the ulterior motive of the CoA chip--I have a strong feeling what is going to happen. Keep us on our toes, dammit.

Oh no I have to get home so I don't miss todays episode of The Noah Kaiyou Show!

I mean now that MC pointed it out it does seem like this is begining to revolve to much around Noah. And the Cross Fusion didn't help, it just made all twenty spotlights focus imediately on him. Try to tone Noah down a bit.

Maybe he should get his own talk show, wait that would be kinda stupid. "Today at 10 on Noah, My Brother is EVIL!." Wait that would be interesting, we have Saiba, who else would Noah interview, Regal, he is evil and some what of a brother to Yuriko. Scar from the lion king?
