my worst chip came from accedently deleting all the chips I had and claering my library via gameshark. all I had were chips that only did 1 damage. like the lv1 buster you use in the start of the game _________________ 98% of all teens have tried or are doing some drug. True, but Airshoes may have a use in folders that rely on Snake and SnakeMan from BN2. In general, if a chip can see absolutely NO use in any folder that you can conceive, then it is pretty bad. Like Panic, or LifeSync. And to think that some of these have a chance of coming back... _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! In my opinion Escape is the dumbest chip ever. I hate running away from anything; and that way you don't get chips or money! The only thing they're good for is trading for the Knightsword in MMBN. |

I'm not sure why so many people dislike Escape. Personally, I love running from battle! If I'm relatively late in the game and I'm running to a specific location, why do I want to get accosted by viruses on the way? Why should I collect 13 useless chips from viruses along the way if my sole intent is to run to Ura 5 and start beating on ShadowMan? Now, personally, I just stack my folder with Invis chips, ZuesHammers (thanks, GospelDupe!), and FullCustom chips. If I, somehow, don't get the chips I need to wipe out a set of viruses in a round or two, I just run. Why should I waste my time? Sure, I get chip trader fodder, but I can do that hunting mets. When I'm on a mission, I want to get to my destination. Before you have a high enough level or enough ZuesHammers to handle any virus, you can use escape to expediate your play. But there's another situation you can use it in. Trouble running from Forte SP while grinding viruses for those rare secret 3 chips? Escape. Please, when your folder is full of FullCusts and ZuesHammers, it's not an issue to add a few junik chips in there. But while those Hammers might be good for double and triple deletes on beefy viruses, you're packing a max of 1000 damage there, which Forte SP will scoff at. Escape, it's the way to go.
Now Panic, that's a useless chip. At least you can imagine a situation where you'd use Escape. Panic is completely useless. Confusing viruses is pointless: they move randomly anyhow. And in a netbattle, even if your opponent is using a folder heavy with, say, spice, you're better off without panic anyhow. So it keeps them moving when you're confused. Are you going to select it and then wait on your friend to use a spice so you can confuse him? Why not use an Invis, skip taking the damage, too, and work on your own agenda? |

But you can't use escape against navis. That's why it's useless _________________ Avatar by May, many flowers and thanks for the wonderful avatar. |

Oh, yes. It's a very bad chip. But I think useless is overdoing it. You can use it to run through areas where viruses would otherwise wail on your ass. If you're BMD hunting or GMD farming, that is. ShinobiDash doesn't work on viruses above your level, remember. _________________

Like I said, the word "useless" is really being misused in this thread. The topic should just be changed from "Most useless chips" to "Chips you don't like using", since that's what almost everyone is talking about anyway. |

Slasher only works when you have an opponent that loves getting near you, I've only managed to use it once or twice.
And Var Sword? Heck no I can't use it worth crap with it's odd ball combo system I have yet to comprehend. |

You kiddin'? Variable Sword an USELESS chip? I LOVED the way it was up to MMBN3, I could pack a triple 160HP wideshot damage, perfect for wiping out viruses! The only issue with that chip is that you have to perform a key combo, like the special attacks in Street Fighter. Hold A and then quickly input the combos... try using left B right B or down left up right down combo.
And Slasher is strictly condition-related, but I wouldn't call it useless... it's perfect for those viruses or navis that keep invading your space, hold A and then wait for them to come. No matter where you are, when your opponent invades your space, you'll be automatically attacking it and most importantly, you'll be invincible while attacking. _________________ SPOILER:

VarSword is easily one of the best chips to be created. It simply takes practice wuith the button combos. For now, if you're gonna use it, just use the LifeSword function, which is activated by
[spoil:7288ed5a6a]Holding down A, then started with your thumb on the Downpart of the D-pad then rolling your thumb clockwise around the D-pad full circle until you reach down again.[/spoil:7288ed5a6a]
There are commands for using Elemental Wave-Slash, but they involve hitting B while holding A, and I just don't have enough hands for that. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Hey Mal. Anyway, I find a useless chip to be any chip that doesn't have an effective purpose. Interrupt isn't that good, seeing as not many enemies have chip data in BN1. Haven't used Catcher yet, only traded it off for that job. Escape has always had a use with me. Saves time getting through certain areas. Counter has a definitive use, it is timing that matters. _________________ I can't help you. I don't speak English.

Slow Gauge...
I mean... WHAT'S THE POINT!?
My friend said it's a good way to torture a friend after using a Geddon 3 or Anubis, he has to wait longer for a chance to get a new chip... but still... you need like, so many other chips in order to set up a profitable situation for Slow Gauge. Useless chip... _________________

Not necessarily...
I do agree that in many folders, SlowGauge is the antithesis of what is desired, but the Slowgauge has a folder it shines in: Painful Reality (I think that's what it's called). Geddon 3 your opponent, and immediately Repair your side. Toss down a PoisonAnubis, and slap a SlowGauge on, and your opponent is on a one-way trip to deletion. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Don't shoot down Heavy Gague. In exe5 it's EXTREMLY useful. You can slow down the gague in Liberation Missions so you can have abtter chance at getting a 1 Turn Liberate. _________________

:! AAHHH!! I didn't even think of the Liberation Missions! Your right Sketch... by itself, Slow Gauge IS useful in that game... heh. But in the other games, unless your willing to make an entire folder themed toward it... Slow Gauge is chip trader food. _________________
