Someone visiting this site might easily be scared off because of the topics, they are lots of them, why not maybe ask those who started the topic for permision to close it if it stays too long without someone posting in it, and the locked topics as well, i mean if it's locked, then there is no point it being there now is there

As for removing the "excessive" topics...I doubt any newcomer is too scared off of them. If they are, then they're at the wrong forum.

And let's not forget, if you remove a topic, search engines won't notice it that quick. Say someone looks for info about Exe season one and gets a link to a topic here, only to see that it was deleted, that'd annoy them somewhat.

Who, exactly? Other than illiterate children or foreigners that don't know a speck of English, I can't imagine who would be "afraid" of text.

Too much text might be frightening, anyways isn't there a way to delete them from here but keep the record someplace else, so that if those bloody spammers return and think it's ok, BAM! u throw it back at them.

No, we don't really want to do that.

As u wish, i was just saying that it might be difficult to know if a topic has already been started for new comers, they would just start a topic and then they will come back later to find out that it has been closed because someone eles started it months before the person, he/she tries to open another, again its closed, so it could be a little toturing.

How is it 'torturing'? The staff explains full well WHY they lock a topic, or at least, that's how it should be. Anyway, don't you think that a new person would learn not to open extraneous topics after one of their own gets locked and explained?

We also ask people to look around before they post. So they won't have their thread locked.

http://www.kishuku.com/reo/search.php ...

Searching will always be faster then making a new topic:

Searching:
1. Need to type about 5 words.
2. Searching for relevant topics: Couple of minutes.

New topic:
1. Need to type more then 15 words at the very least.
2. You need to wait for an answer: Depending on the question and at what time you post it, an hour to a day.
3. You need to post "Zomg thank you".

But some of the sections contain over 500 topics, if someone is new and has to go through all that, it could be a pain, and some of the topics contain like 200 posts in them, it could take a while and lots of patience for all that.

Why on earth would anyone but the administration need or bother to read them six months down the line? If you're looking for something, just use the search function. >.>

I don't mean to upset anyone, i'm just having a conversesion, have u considered a new board, i mean come on, not everyone who registered still visit, u could move to a new one, and still get to keep this one, and redirect everyone to the new one.
I hope i don't upset anyone.

What? o_o What is wrong with this board, it's not that old anyway. You don't need to read all topics and you sure as heck don't need to reply to them all. This forum is nice and dandy, there's nothing wrong with it.
The custom title system depends on your postcount, removing "old" topics will kill off the CTs.

Don't get me wrong, this board really is the bomb, a new one could be better, think about it.

This board was created in March, it's fine.

And Guardian, your signature is too big. 450 x 150 is the limit.

Nobody else but yourself has expressed these concerns, so with only one person asuming what others 'think' is not a good reason to change everything.

We can't change everything to please 'what ifs' exposed by one person. If there were far more complaints about it, I could see your insistence. Does the amount of topics 'intimidates you'? If not, I don't see why you're talking about it in behalf of people that haven't signed up and shown concerns about it.

Second, please be respectful and concious of the fact all you're suggesting represents a huge invest of time and money for Ryouko. It's pretty easy to suggest 'make a new board and forget this one', but you're not considering her limited free time and the resources devoted to keep two boards at the same time and one just eating unnecesary space.

This makes no sense because ultimatedly, even a new forum would eventually grow this big. Are we supposed to make a new one everytime this happens? I don't think so. Now, I don't think it's alright for you to say that not all people that registered to it visit it now, and make it sound like we can dispose of their accounts and topics just like that.

I'd suggest kindly to stop and analyze the situation for ALL sides, especially the sides that are already here. You can't speak for people that haven't signed up yet asuming the reason they don't sign up is the amount of topics.

I already removed it once and left a message to replace it with something of the right size. This is a noted warning.
