I just watched the new episode of Ghost in the Shell, and I must say I'm very impressed. I've always loved the show for its characters, action, and beautiful animation. And I was elated to find out the new season was starting. The episode was flawless and Batou's reunion with the tachikoma was cute. Is anyone else a fan of this show? Does the animation look different then usual or was it just me?

I did like the new episode ^^ But I didn't really notice that much diffrance.... well maybe that's because my T.V. is kinda cruddy and I can only get a 75% clear picture on cartoonnetwork

Yahooo! The Tachikomas return. I wonder if that means that there'll still be Tachikoma-kun omakes at the end of the episodes like with the first season (you'd only see that on the DVDs). The opening doesn't really kick ass like the first season's CG opening did, but that's just something to live with. Yeah, I certainly enjoyed the first ep. of the new season. I very much look forward to the rest.

Now, what are they planning to remove to make room for Inuyasha? Either Evangelion of Boondocks are likely candidates, since Boondocks shows on Sunday and Eva shows Thursday, but my guess is that Boondocks is going to remain on Saturdays since it represents a greater amount of effort and financial commitment on their part. The S-Cry-D run is about over, so that might go. Don't know about Samurai Champloo since I haven't followed it. It'd be even nicer if they started Saturday's Adult Swim and hour earlier like on Sunday and not waste the Toonami time block with non-animated movies. Seriously, Batman? And next week, The Goonies? With Batman you can sort of say okay, but there's no excuse for Goonies. It's like MTV with the showing of non-music television. Cartoon Network needs to remain pure of the vile impurity of flesh-and-blood shows.

I agree. I found the theme song fanatastic, Rize is a great song and they looked so weird with their freaky black cloaks. Is it just me or did Kusanagi look even more busty than she was in the original?

I'm up to episode 14; the opening sequence gets better around the episode 4 if I'm not mistaken.

Sorry Mari. I just felt a need to vent my frustration. And Motoko Kusanagi could very well be more busty since she still had the old body at the end of the first season. I already have soundtrack 2 so I hear the full song there.

Well, they're probably just trying to make references back to the movie. In that:
1. Motoko's head gets sniped off.
2. Batou's arm gets destroyed.
3. He shouts "Motoko!!"
4. There's also the Major trying to yank the hatch off of a big walking tank (although she breaks her arms in the attempt).
5. The Major blows someone's head off through a building's window, then drops away and activates her thermoptic camoflauge (although the way the camoflauge works is, um, not appropriate for commercial television :] )
