In This Secret Grotto... Shounen-Ai One-shot SPOILERS

In the lush jungles of Beyondard, there existed a grotto that was only known to a few Zoanodroids. Today, the Zoanodroid known as Swallowman was waiting by the edge of the lake, apparently waiting for someone. He sighed as he lowered his talons into the cool water, watching the blue sky above him as he laid back. The bird Zoanodroid was about to fall asleep when he heard some rustling behind him.

Out of the bushes came his lover, Zoanoroid Cosmoman.

Smiling, Z-Swallowman got up from his position on the ground and strided over to the larger Zoanodroid. Immediately, Z-Cosmoman drew his lover into his arms and kissed him deeply. Z-Swallowman returned the kiss with equal force, wrapping his arms around the other's neck. They stayed like that for quite some time before breaking off, each of them panting for breath.

"I've missed you." Z-Cosmoman said as he took the bird zoanodroid into his arms, "Everyday, I count down the days until I get to see you again."

Z-Swallowman sighed as he slumped in his lover's arms. "Indeed...it's been too long." he murmured. Together, the two sat down just to watch the sun above them.

Some more time passed as they eventually made their way to the small lake in front of them. The two waded into the lake until they were halfway submerged. Z-Swallowman let out another sigh and looked around him.

"Why can't everyday be like this?" he questioned his lover as he took a leaf off a nearby tree and looked at it in his hand, "I mean, why can't we just have all this time to ourselves? It is so beautiful out here..."

Z-Cosmoman sighed and took the bird zoanodroid into his arms again. "I wish so too. However, you know us just meeting each other is forbidden."

Z-Swallowman nodded ruefully. "Yes...if Lord Faltzer knew that I was meeting with someone from the other group..."

"The same here..." Z-Cosmoman replied, "If Lord Greiga found out that I was having an affair with a follower of his enemy, then surely I would be dead."

Z-Swallowman shook his head and hugged his lover closely, one of his hands trailing over the yellow star shaped emblem that maked Z-Cosmoman as one of Greiga's followers. Likewise, the larger zoanodroid ran a thumb down the blue beak-like emblem that identified Z-Swallowman as one of Faltzer's.

"I still don't know what we are fighting for." Z-Cosmoman said suddenly, "All of this is so sudden...I don't know why our lords are fighting over territory. They have kept to themselves for some time, and then...this."

"I know." Z-Swallowman agreed as he looked up into the face of his lover. "But if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have met you." he said while snuggling up to the larger zoanodroid. Z-Cosmoman smiled.

"Indeed...I just wish time would stop, just for this moment..." he murmured as Z-Swallowman nodded and stayed comfortably in his arms.

Some more time passed as the sky grew darker. Finally, Z-Swallowman sighed and stood up, walking out of the water. "It is now time to take my leave..." he said, closing his eyes as he did so, "If I don't go now, Lord Faltzer will suspect something."

Z-Cosmoman nodded. "I should be going as well. Lord Greiga will wonder where I have been otherwise." Standing up out of the water, he drew the bird zoanodroid into his arms once again and kissed him. Slowly, he broke it off and looked at Z-Swallowman's face. "When do you think we'll be able to meet again?" he whispered, not wanting to let go of his lover.

"I do not know...but I will keep hoping that we do meet again soon." Z-Swallowman said sullenly. Z-Cosmoman nodded before he let go of him.

"Then...farewell for now. I will return to this grotto when I have the chance." Z-Cosmoman said before he leapt into the bushes and disappeared. Z-Swallowman sighed and started to fly out of the grotto, looking at the moonlit sky in despair.

Will there ever be a time where we can be together?

Anyways, this one was sort of tough since the two don't have any definitive character to them yet. Plus I wanted to get it out before cries of Z-Swallowman x Z-Gateman came out. XDD

Gaaah, it's so hard to find something constructive to say when all you can do is squeal XP

I really love this fic, it has become one of my favorites, it's sad but sweet. *rolls the fic up and skips away with it* /o/

Indeed.

I loved reading it. I admit, the pairing was something that I didn't consider, but the work was still done rather spectacularly. Planty seems to be pleased, so I'd say that this did its job. The situation reminds me of some episode from a recent season of Star Trek, but I cannot remember the episode off-hand.

Nonetheless, good job.
