Okay... sorry for the long delay. Here's Chapter 14 of my fic.

Chapter 1-14: Power of the Sun

As another day passed in the city of New Light, things weren’t getting to be as normal as anyone would consider. Temperatures had been rising for over the past three days and it has caused everyone to find a way to cool down. To make things worse, there has recently been a period of low rainfall meaning that nature isn’t doing its best.

News Reporter: “It is day three right now in this out of control heat wave as temperatures are rising up to the hundreds. People all over the city had been trying to find ways to cool down but so far, there had been no luck. We believe that this city had received very low rainfall over the past week and it seems to be connected to this heat wave. We go now live to our weather center for an update.”

Even in the lab, temperatures were going up as Rock, Bret and Daniel were trying to find ways to keep cool and so far, everything was going good. They were relaxing in the underground laboratory where a swimming pool was built for situations like this. So far, Rock and his friends were relaxing in the pool hoping that they could keep cool from the insane heat that was happening.

Rock: “Whew, that swim was really worth it. I wanted to get away from that heat because my titanium body can’t withstand temperatures that high.”

Bret: “I know. Temperatures are going crazy and everyone is trying to find a way to cool down.”

Daniel: “My guess is that they are crowding up the pools and it’s a major pain for these people.”

Rock: “I agree. I know this heat has nothing to do with Dr. Wily so something has seriously got to be done.”

Daniel: “Well Dr. Light has been working with various weather officials to find the cause of this massive heat wave.”

Rock: “I don’t know how to say it but Wily has definitely got something to do with this.”

Daniel: “What makes you say that?”

Rock: “Because if it isn’t Dr. Wily coming up with something, it has to be one of his robot masters because I know it for a fact that any of his robot masters have something to do with it.”

Bret: “I agree. What should we do?”

Rock: “I’m not sure. For now, we should relax and let Dr. Light handle the situation.”

Daniel: “Okay.”

As the three of them continued exercising in the underground pool in Dr. Light’s lab, what Rock has mentioned becomes realized as outside of Dr. Wily’s laboratory, a robot master was developing some sort of device that would have something to do with putting the sun closer to Earth’s orbit. So far, the device had been functioning properly and is pushing the Earth closer and closer to the sun’s orbit.

Dr. Wily: “HeatMan, you fool! You do realize that is totally out of proportion for that if the Earth is known to reach closer to the Sun, it can be genocidal. Millions of lives will be in danger if this keeps up.”

HeatMan: “Would I care? I so don’t think so. You see, I’m sick and tired of that blue dweeb beating the heck out of us so if I thought, if I destroy the planet, I can destroy him in the process.”

Dr. Wily: “So you developed this device for what?”

HeatMan: “For the sole purpose of luring the Earth into the sun’s orbit. With that, I can force temperatures to go climbing through the roof including with what has happened for the past three days. According to my report, by the eighth day Earth will be turned into a fried egg. Once this is over, I can force the Earth back into its original orbit and you can clean up the mess. After all, you are a respective scientist and I believe that with my plan, you can rule the world!”

Dr. Wily: “I kind of like your plan but there is one problem.”

HeatMan: “Really? And what’s that?”

Dr. Wily: “Have you forgotten about the blue dweeb and his red-headed friend? They’ll ruin your plan you fool!”

HeatMan: “I’m well aware of that because I have a back-up plan just in case. I promise you Dr. Wily that you will rule the world and have the city beg for mercy.”

Dr. Wily: “You better be right, HeatMan… for if you fail, and I swear that I will melt you down into rubble! Do you understand?”

HeatMan: (nervous) “Y-Y-yes, sir. I promise you that I won’t fail.”

With that, Dr. Wily had gone back into the fortress while HeatMan continued with his plan. But outside of the fortress, a mysterious person wearing a red scarf was watching what was happening over a pair of binoculars. He was a young man that had gray hair and was wearing a red scarf that commemorated his father. He was wearing a gray shirt while wearing khaki shorts and had light gray parts as it is part of his outfit. He had a headband over his sand peach hair and he carried a type of gun called the GunDeSol, a weapon that unleashes powerful rays of sunlight when it is focused properly. Beside him was his personal ally who looked like a sunflower.
Django: “This is my worst fear. If that robot tries to pull the Earth into the Sun’s orbit, it can mean that this planet will be gone.”

Otenko: “I know, Master Django. We must stop him before it’s too late.”

Django: “But what can we do?”

Otenko: “For now, we need to wait.”

Django: “That is the least of my worries. Come on.”

As Django and Otenko head off to find a safe haven from HeatMan’s plot, things were about to get even more intense as the planet Earth was continuing to head closer and closer to the sun’s range. Meanwhile back at the underground swimming pool, things were going to heat up big time.

Rock: “Hey, is it me or are things getting a little hot here?”

Bret went out of the pool to check out what was happening only to discover that the outer area is starting to heat up. Realizing of this, he decides to find a way to cool things down and fast. As he checked what was happening outside the house, things weren’t going as they expected.

Bret: “Oh no. Temperatures outside this place are heating up dramatically. They are reaching up to over 100 degrees and climbing.”

Rock: “I’ll call my grandpa to find out what is going on.”

Once he turned on his communicator, Dr. Light was shown on the screen. Immediately, Rock explained what was happening and Dr. Light had a few things to say.

Rock: “Grandpa, have you been checking the temperatures outside? It’s going off the roof.”

Dr. Light: “I know. I have a feeling that Dr. Wily has everything to do with this. I’ve noticed this for a fact that countries all over the world have been witnessing a change in weather.”

Rock: “Grandpa, what do we do?”

Dr. Light: “You and Bret need to both get to Dr. Wily’s fortress and stop what he’s currently doing. If the Earth continues to go closer and closer to the sun, the planet will be completely engulfed by the sun’s heat.”

Bret: “Leave it to us, Dr. Light. We’ll make sure to return the planet back to its respective orbit. You ready?”

Rock: “I’m ready. Let’s kick some butt.”

That was when Eddie came by knowing that the situation they will be in is more deadly than anything they will ever experience. Rock and Bret saw Eddie and that was when he was ready to give them something special.

Eddie: “Rock, Bret… before you two go out to stop Wily, take these.”

Eddie opened his top and fired 2 cans of energy drink but as Rock and Bret were about to realize that they weren’t any ordinary drinks.

Rock: “Eddie, these are just energy drinks. Why you gave them to us?”

Bret: “Yeah.”

Eddie: “Dr. Light modified these energy drinks so they can give you triple the normal amount of power you’ll originally get. Plus, your body will be resistant to the huge temperatures that you’ll encounter.”

Rock: “This will seriously help us.”

Bret: “Bottoms up, Rocky.”

Rock: “Agreed.”

As they drank to their heart’s content, Rock and Bret transformed and they went off to Wily’s fortress. Wily’s fortress was like a castle home to some of the robot masters and inventions that Wily has concocted. As they arrived, they saw a machine that has fired a gravitational laser. Unbelievably, that laser was aimed at the sun and its pushing it closer and closer to the Earth. With time running out, Mega Man NG and Proto Man NG immediately sprang into action forcing HeatMan to turn around and see the two heroes.

HeatMan: “Well, if it isn’t the blue goody two-circuits and the red-head. Looks like you guys are too little, too late. In just 30 minutes, the planet Earth will be engulfed by the roaring strength of the sun. With it, Earth will suffer destruction beyond what anyone could imagine. And once that’s done, I will then move the Earth back into its respectful orbit and then leave Dr. Wily to do his bidding.”

Mega Man NG: “I’m afraid I won’t let you do this for that we will stop you.”

Proto Man NG: “That’s right. This time we are making sure that you go down with a bang.”

HeatMan: “That’s what you think. The power of the sun will give me the strength to take you both down.”

Mega Man NG: “We’ll see about that. AquaSword battlechip in!”

Proto Man NG: “AquaBlade battlechip in!”

Both of them were armed with aqua-based weaponry and they took the opening gambit against HeatMan. HeatMan got out of the way and was ready to strike back with an attack of his own.

HeatMan: “So you decide to play against fire eh? You do realize that when you play with fire, you get burned and when I mean burned… I mean flame-broiled. Atomic Fire!”

HeatMan charged up a huge amount of flame and fired it at both Mega Man and Proto Man NG. Mega slashed it with his AquaSword immediately neutralizing it as HeatMan fired another blast of his Atomic Fire. High above, Django and Otenko was watching Mega Man NG and Proto Man NG battling HeatMan.

Django: “Looks like a battle has already begun. Only one hour remains till the sun completely consumes the planet.”

Otenko: “We can’t let the Earth be consumed by the sun’s rage. We must help them.”

Django: “Not yet. Not till the time is right.”

That was when he received a call from an old friend of Django. He picked it up and knew that it was from an ally of his. Otenko stood by as Django was talking in his conversation.

Django: “Hello?”

Sabata: “Django, this is Sabata speaking. You heard what is happening?”

Django: “Yes. It seems that the situation is far worse than anything we would expect. In just an hour, the Earth will be engulfed by the sun’s rage. I have to help them.”

Sabata: “It seems that you don’t have a choice then because you are after all, savior of the light. Don’t just stand there, get to it!”

Django: “Fine, you don’t need to yell.”

Otenko: “What has happened, Master?”

Django: “Looks like we have to save the Earth this time. Come on, Otenko. Let’s help them.”

Otenko: “Wait for me, Master.”

As Django and his faithful sidekick head off to help Mega Man NG and Proto Man NG, the two heroes already have their hands full as HeatMan’s attacks continue to get stronger and stronger as the sun rapidly gets closer to Earth.

HeatMan: “Yeah, that’s right. Atomic Fire!”

Mega Man NG: “Damn, HeatMan’s attacks continue to get stronger. There has to be another tactic that we can use to beat him.”

HeatMan: “I’m afraid there isn’t. The more the sun comes closer to the Earth, the stronger my attack is and the closer to your doom.”

Proto Man NG: “I’m afraid that’s not going to happen. Okay, Mega time now for a double attack. You ready?”

Mega Man NG: “Let’s do it. AquaNeedle, battlechip in!”

Proto Man NG: “So, you decided to do something new eh? This is going to be good. BubbleStar, battlechip in!”

Mega’s AquaSword turned into a aqua-based needle cannon while Proto’s turned into a starfish and immediately they fired their respective attacks. That was when HeatMan made a grin and knew that something was up.

HeatMan: “I’m surprised that you are actually counterattacking but like always, do you realize what you are up against. Let me show you! Flaming Barrier!”

HeatMan’s body began to be engulfed in flames as the attacks were immediately neutralized upon impact. HeatMan began to chuckle as he ran straight towards the heroes and engulfed them with a destructive attack. Both of them hit the ground as HeatMan looked on and saw them both on the ground after that ferocious attack.

HeatMan: “See what I mean? You both are no match for me. In just a few moments, the planet will be consumed by the sun’s rage. You both will be gone along with it.”

Mega Man NG: “Man, I knew it would come to this.”

Proto Man NG: “Our energy is going down fast. The sun is draining our power.”

HeatMan: “Now Wily will reward me even greater for beating the heck out of you both. Time now for the finishing blow!”

Django: “I’m afraid that’ll have to wait, vile being.”

HeatMan: “Huh, who said that?”

Django: “Up here.”

That was when HeatMan turned around and saw Django ready to kick some serious butt. Instantly, Django jumped up high in the air and used his Solar Sword to strike HeatMan. HeatMan was livid and wasn’t ready to unleash his rage on Django. Once he unleashed the Atomic Fire, Django quickly evaded the attack and struck him again with the Solar Sword.

Mega Man NG: “Who… is this guy?”

Proto Man NG: “I don’t know. If he is an ally, I’m sure we’ll need all the strength we can get.”

Django: “Hey, if you are to stop his plans, aim for that device.”

Mega Man NG: “Huh?”

That was when they saw the tractor beam that is pulling the sun towards the Earth’s orbit and the source, a machine which was emitting huge electromagnetic waves into the sun. Realizing that they had found the source of the pull, Mega Man and Proto Man NG came up with a plan to put an end to HeatMan’s plan once and for all.

Mega Man NG: “Here’s the plan. I’ll distract HeatMan while you find a weakness in that device of his.”

Proto Man NG: “You got it. Be careful.”

Mega Man NG: “I will.”

As Mega Man NG heads off to assist Django in battling HeatMan, Proto Man NG was checking out the machine in hope of finding a weakness but what was happening was the Earth was now getting pulled more into the sun faster than normal which meant time was running out.

Proto Man NG: “There’s got to be a weakness in that machine somewhere. Huh, what’s that?”

That was when Proto Man saw some sort of gravitational capacitor. When he touched it however, he suffered a light hit as it was protected somehow. He checked the area and saw somehow that if the capacitor was touched, it would trigger an explosion. That was when Proto Man needed a new tactic to try to get the capacitor.

Proto Man NG: “This is harder than I thought. I hope Mega Man and that ally are okay… I hope.”

Meanwhile, Mega Man NG and Django were fighting HeatMan with the situation more intense by the second; every move was needed to count. Charging straight for HeatMan with an AquaSword, Mega Man NG was ready to take him out.

Mega Man NG: “Prepare for your defeat, HeatMan. AquaSword!”

HeatMan: “I’m going to have to disagree, Grand Burner!”

HeatMan’s hands hit the ground and that was when a flaming wave emerged but then Mega Man NG unleashed an AquaSword wave and immediately both attacks were neutralized. HeatMan was surprised that his Grand Burner was negated but he had one last surprise up his sleeves and it wasn’t going to be pretty.

Mega Man NG: “Have you had enough, Heat Breath?”

Django: “I doubt he’ll ever have enough. After all, he is responsible for what is happening.”

Mega Man NG: “How do you know?”

Django: “In less than 20 minutes, the planet will be completely consumed by the sun and all life in his Earth will cease to exist. My GunDeSol has somehow overheated because of the huge amount of energy that the sun is releasing. That’s why I have the Solar Sword which comes at a close second.”

HeatMan: “Will you two quit jabbering! I’m already by you both. But its only a matter of time before you all will suffice to your demise. You haven’t seen my true potential as I have one little attack left.”

Mega Man NG: “And just what is that?’

HeatMan: “Let me show you just how powerful I can be. My ultimate attack, Solar Atomic Meteor!”

HeatMan was burning with anger and was ready to unleash all of it straight at Mega Man NG and Django. With one strong charge, HeatMan went straight forward to Mega Man NG but that was when Mega stood his ground and was ready to counterattack.

Mega Man NG: “Its like they say, you play with fire… you’ll get burned. Anti-Fire, battlechip in!”

That was when Mega Man NG was protected by a barrier and HeatMan was instantly struck hard for his use of fire element. Immediately, he was hit to the ground as both Mega Man NG was ready to unleash the finishing blow.

Mega Man NG: “Time now to finish this once and for all.”

Django: “I’m with you.”

Otenko: “Let me strengthen you, Master.”

Otenko used his strength to power up both Django and Mega Man NG’s next attack and they were both ready to finish the job.

Django: “Solar Sword, give me strength.”

Mega Man NG: “AquaBlade, battlechip in! Let’s do this!”

Both of them raced straight for HeatMan and they struck him hard with two powerful slashes that he exploded in one boom-filled effect. With HeatMan wiped out, they had one last thing to take care of and that was to put the Earth back into its respected orbit. Time was against them and they had to make every move count.

Django: “We took care of him. Now we should focus on putting the Earth back to the way it should be.”

Mega Man NG: “Proto Man NG has already taken the gravitational capacitor.”

Django: “And maybe you should take a look at what is happening now.”

Mega Man NG: “Huh?”

That was when Mega Man NG looked and saw the device ready to explode. That was when Mega Man NG came up with an idea but needed some help in the process.

Mega Man NG: “Hey, I forgot something. What’s your name anyway?”

Django: “Me? My name is Django. Why you ask?”

Mega Man NG: “I’m Mega Man NG and I need to copy a weapon of yours, your GunDeSol.”

Django: “My solar-powered laser gun? Why you ask?”

Mega Man NG: “Just trust me.”
Django showed Mega Man NG his weapon and that was when it only took a few seconds to copy its data and its various abilities. In just a split second, that was when he went to the unstable device, he knew what he needed to do.

Django: “I hope he knows what he’s doing.”

Mega Man NG: “Time to make sure that this type of weapon will never be used to destroy this world again. Program Advance! GunDeSol, triple battlechip in!”

Both of his hands brought forth GunDeSol guns and when both his hands rose high into the air and a bright light emerged from the program advance. Immediately he had two sets of mirrors ready for his new attack.

Mega Man NG: “PileDriver!”

That was when he set both the mirrors on respective spots near the device and then two mirrors began to split into four now circulating all four sides. That was when sunlight entered the mirrors and it began to generate in strength.

Mega Man NG: “Let me strengthen things up a notch. Prism, battlechip in!”

That was when a Prism was high in the air and then the Prism absorbed the sunlight and then it went to the four mirrors. Immediately, the mirrors fired a huge blast of light at the device and as the both of them got out of there, it let out an unbelievable explosion. Back at Dr. Light’s lab, Proto Man NG brought the device to Dr. Light and immediately he was putting the Earth back into its respective orbit.

Dr. Light: “I hope it works.”

Proto Man NG: “Yeah.”

A blue-colored laser came out of the Earth and then it was pushing the Earth back into its respective orbit. With that, temperatures began to decrease to normal, humidity decreased, and then immediately the planet returned back to its normal orbit.

Proto Man NG: “We did it, Dr. Light. The Earth is back in its respected orbit.”

Dr. Light: “I made sure that Wily will never again threaten the planet with this gravitational device.”

As night fell upon New Light City, a sigh of relief was given. As Mega Man NG and Django saw each other and knew that they had saved the world from a very unfortunate death, they both had feelings inside that they had respect for each other.

Django: “I knew for a fact that you are different. You helped an entire planet from total annihilation. I have high respect for you.”

Mega Man NG: “I should thank you because if it wasn’t for your weapon, the GunDeSol… I would have never came up with a new technique to destroy that device.”

Django: “I agree. Your enemies will now be more determined than ever to destroy you but know that I will always be there to help you. After all, I am the Solar Boy. We will meet again.”

Mega Man NG: “Farewell, Django. I know we will work together soon in the future.”

As Django and Otenko head off to the unknown, Mega Man NG was pleased to see that he has met a new ally. For a fact that if it wasn’t for him, Earth would have been incinerated but he knew in the end, he needed all the help he can get. Wily will now be on the verge in destroying Mega Man NG but he will always be ready… no matter what it takes.

On the next Mega Man: Next Generation
Mega Man NG’s next opponent is someone that wants a worthy challenge. As Rock heads to an industrial section of the city, he gets himself involved in a one-on-one showdown with a robot master who’s fist is as pure as metal. But what are the opponent’s true motives in this? It’s a showdown in the industrial zone in the next exciting chapter, Metallic Clash in Industrial City.

Wonderful chapter, LgacyDX. In future chapters, try substituting 'has something to do with this' with 'is involved in this'. It'll help the story flow better.

Pretty good chapter, although it did have a few of the usual issues with person, voice, and tense. Story wise though, it was a great chapter. It was good to see Django, but bad to not to learn his origins in the story. Also, it seemed funny when the heat wave immediately made Rock think of Wily. Lastly, it seems out of character for Django to not want to help. I'll come back and edit this a bit later.

This chapter is one of the best ones that I've read so far. I mean, both Django the Solar Boy and Otenko from the Boktai series teaming up with your two characters trying to stop HeatMan from destroying the world using the sun's energy. It's good that you've added the Pile Driver Program Advance to the plot. Well, I hope that you do something that would involve both Doris and Rock in future chapters. I would like to read about that happening. Oh, and the way that you've manage to describe on how the heat is effecting the situation of the story. Well, I hope to see more chapters coming soon.
