I can't figure out what the battle chip gate do if you play MBN4 and 5?
And oh ya, I search everywhere for the infomation of it! :grr:

I don't think it works for BN4 or 5, I might be wrong. However in 4.5 it alows you to use chips in battle

The Battle Chip Gate does work on exe 4. I tried my BCG (ver exe4/4.5) on the UK ver (I think it should be UK ver because last part of the serial number on the software is UKV) BN4 and it works fine. I'm not sure does the old BCG works with exe5 because they have a new BCG for it.
Anyway, you can play Operation Battle if you start exe4/5 with a BCG plugged in your GBA.
I'm not sure about 5 but in 4 you can play Operation Battle. First you have to slot in a Navi Data chip (it can only be Rockman or those 12 soul unision navi), then you can battle with other navis or link up with others.
For the link up part, you can link with both 4 and 4.5. Both must have a BCG and you can only use the first 13 navis on 4.5 side.

So operation battle is like a minigame? Not sloting in battlechip while abttling in story mode?

Operation Battle is sort of like a minigame in 4 but you have do a lot in 4.5.
BTW Operation battle is the only option you can choose in 4 when you have your BCG plugged in your GBA.

Awww man, I really wanted to load up some of the battle chips that weren't easy to get.

The problem with operation battle is that while i'm playing it I randomly get a message saying "Connection Lost" or something like that. It's a real pain

The American EXE4 does work with the gate...but unless you have a Navi Data Chip...you can't do anything with it.

All chips work with it.

It's not that hard to understand. All version 1 chips (the chips that aren't from the Progress PET) can be used in Operation Battle in EXE 4. Starman is the only chip that doesn't work, since it was made after EXE 4 and didn't appear in the game, anyway.

No no it's not just starman. There are a few more navis aside from starman like Iceman and Elecman. You can only use the 12 Soul Unishion navis in Red Sun and Blue Moon. And Rockman himself of course

Is the BCG available in the US?I really want one!

Anywho,I have codes that let me use some of the operation battle navis in the normal game.(Metalman,gutsman,searchman,and others move really slow in battle.)I just can't play as them in the overworld part.

EXE 4/4.5's gate does not work with EXE 5 Sad

But EXE 5 gets an all new one called the Progress Chip Gate which unlocks operation battle.

EXE 5's Operation Battle is very simalar to 4.5's battle system and has a sort of Story to it.

In the main game, though, the PCG allows you to use a navi data chip to switch navis in the heat of battle.

do you think that they would make a Battle Chip Gate for the DS or something like that?

Hikari Angel, well, typically it's possible, if it was included with MMBNDS. Because the gba slot at the bottom, is not only for playing gba games, but it is also for DS extension packs. Maybe MMBNDS could possibly have an adapter of some sort, that lets you insert the battle chips in. But, this is probably not gonna happen... Anyhow about the BCG's, after reading the above posts, I'm beginning to see that I really need one.
