|
|
This is an idea that was sort of inspired by Daizenshuu EX, a Dragonball website. Here, you list your top three favorite Voice Seiyuus and Voice Actors, with a description of why you like them. If that VA happens to play more than one character, then you can list which ones they play in parenthesis to go along with that, and if you have a 'tie' for a ranking between two VAs that are about the same level of...favoritism (Making up words is fun kids) then you can have a tie on there. Lastly, if you can't decide on which are your favorites at ALL, then you can just list your top three from both languages and not rank them (make sure you say so at the top of your post). They can be as long or as short as you want. I'll start things off :o
Kirbopher's Top 3 Japanese Seiyuus of Rockman.EXE-
-1
--Nemoto Keiko (Forte.EXE)
---I also first heard Forte in Network Transmission, and considering I continually DIED against him over and over, and only got to hear him say a few words when attacking, I didn't get to hear much of Keiko's work on that. The tv show showed me a lot more, and I LOVED her work on Forte's voice throughout Stream, and most recently in the movie. I usually find it weird in most cases when main characters that are male end up sounding WAY too much like girls (even a little bit in Rockman's case >>;;) but I just love hearing Forte talk, considering he gets almost no dialogue, period :b
-2
--Kimura Aikiko (Rockman.EXE, Rush)
---I've had a bit of an attachment to Rock's voice for a long time now. The first time I heard his Japanese voice was when I played Network Transmission, and I found all of the little quick sounds of his very amusing. That, and Aikiko is REALLY good with those damage grunts, and the SCREAMS :O That, and I just find it really scary that I'm hearing the character sing so good on 'Hikari Todoku Basho De'. As for Rush...yeah, the "Ow Ow!!" can get irritating after a while, but Rockman himself makes up for that.
-3
--(TIE) Kazaku Yumi (Medi.EXE), Sendai Eri (Iris) and Hidaka Noriko (Yuriko, Mariko and Shuryou Gospel)
---For Kazaku Yumi, well, considering she plays Medi...AND Yuffie...AND Lyra...how the hell could I NOT like her?! XD Sendai Eri is the newest to the cast list of the main characters, and she makes Iris, who's already adorable as is, even sweeter X3 Hidaka meanwhile seems to pull as much work as Janyse Jaud does on the english version for playing 3 characters that sound very different from each other. One of the reasosn I started to like Yuriko a lot more around the second half of Stream was because of her voice, and that's about as deep as I can delve on this 3-way tie :o
-Kirbopher's Top 3 English VAs of Megaman NT Warrior
-1
--(TIE) Alex Doduk (Lan I) and Bill Switzer (Chaud I)
---To sum it up, our heroes' first VAs :D Don't get me wrong, Brad Swaile is one of Ocean Group's longtime bests, and Scott Perrie has come a long way since Chaud's first AXESS appearance, but Lan and Chaud's first VAs were the ones that I got really attached to when I first got into the EXE anime when it first appeared on WB. I know one of the reasons that people dislike their english voices is because how different they sound from their Japanese counterparts, but I'm happy that Shopro went with casting Lan and his friends with kid/teenage Voice actors. That really, in my opinion, helped bring a slight hint of realism to ...completely unrealistic world XD It's really two bad that both Alex and Bill seem to have disappeared from Voice Acting in general :<
-2
--(TIE)Scott McNiel (Gutsman.EXE, Cutman.EXE, Shademan.EXE, Savageman.EXE, Kingman.EXE and Torakichi Aragoma) and Trevor Devall (Mr. Match, Dr. Regal, Misaki)
---Scott...oh come on people, IT'S SCOTT!! The original Protoman! :P From dull and stupid Gutsman, to the gangster sounding Cutman, to the aristocratic and much loved Shademan, to the Dr. Claw impersonater BEASTman. The guy's got it all! As for Trevor Devall, I seem to be one of the ONLY people that like Mr. Match's Scottish Accent, and though I was expecting Paul Dobson to play Regal, he's pulled through on the evil Doc for 40something episodes. Yay :3
-3
--Colin Murdoch (Shadowman.EXE, Count Zap and Bowlman.EXE)
---Anyone who's known me for any amount of time knows that I develouped the "I am Shadowman...and I AM A PIMP! WABALOBALOBALOBALO!!!!" from Colin's Asian-sounding Shadowman rendition from his first appearance in NT with his...uh...lightsaber? Plus, Count Zap always seems to entertain me, if not in the same way as the Japanese counterpart does with his crazy viva la engrish, but in his own way.
If you need a list of the Japanese VA's, obviously Ryouko has supplied the names of them all on the Seiyuu page located nya: http://www.kawarimi.com/rockman/seiyuu/exe.html
And if you need a list of the just about all of the english VAs then please direct your attention to this LJ of mine made for this very post, right over nya: http://www.livejournal.com/users/kirbopher/113877.html#cutid1 |

If you liked Forte's voice, watch Zoids Genesis and see the work she does with the character Souta. I love hearing that kid talk, it's so funny.
3.) Kenta Miyake. He does Elec Hakushaku's voice and one of my favorite characters in Zoids Genesis, Raimei no Galaga. His acting is always hilarious.
2.) Kishou Taniyama (Swallowman's seiyuu) I just like the way he acts. He also does a few other voices in other animes I watch. To keep up with the consistency of this post, I'll describe one: Ron Mangan, his role in Zoids Genesis. His acting when it comes to setting a certain mood is superb.
1.) Kazaku Yumi. My avatar and sig scream "Medi~! <3" so the reason for this one should be obvious. ^_^ _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

I meant to have your lists of both your favorite 3 Japanese AND English VAs, unless you happen to not be a fan of any of the NT Warrior voices XD |

1. Mizuhashi Kaori (Meiru) - I love her voice; it's so adorable! I also had no idea she played Princess Altessa from Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime so I was very surprised when I found that out.
2. Chiba Saeko (Jasmine) - Actually pronounces Chinese very well, and she is really a good singer. (She sings the first ending to Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san.)
3. Chiba Chiemi (Aquaman) - I loved her voice in Ojamajo Doremi (which she played Doremi, of course), and I like how she made Aquaman's voice cute and musical. She's also not a bad singer; even my brother likes Ice Cream Child. (He doesn't like how she murmurs a lot, though. ^^
Yes, I like Kakazu Yumi (Meddy) as well, and I find it weird that Meddy and Minto (Tokyo Mew Mew) look similar appearance-wise and she voices both of them. And... yep, you guessed it, I like her song performances too, especially Afternoon Tea.
EDIT: Oh, my gosh! How could I have forgotten Kishio Daisuke (Gyroman)?! He is one of my all-time favorite voice actors, and I absolutely love his singing voice! He plays Kaito and Gaito from Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, Fujimura Shougo from Futari wa Precure, and Fon Aina Sulfur from CLUSTER EDGE.
And I find Yuuki Hiro's (Raika/Laika) voice very attractive, since it's very unique. Sure, it's thick, but it's fun to listen to, especially when yelling.
As for the English version....
1. Scott Perrie - I like how smooth his voice is, and how mature it seems.
2. Ted Cole - His voice completely fits Glyde in my honest opinion.
3. Janyse Jaud - Fits Yuriko very well. I like mysterious, breathless voices for some reason. _________________ I'll remember that day, and I won't let it go. |

1.) Chiba Saeko (Jasmine)- i love listening to Jasmine talk!!!! she sounds really cute ^w^
2.) Kakazu Yumi (Medi EXE)- unlike her Operator, Medi's voice sounds more grown up. and the fact that Medi's my favorite female character has something to do with that too
3.) Yoshino Hiroyuki (Plantman EXE)- his voice is awesome. period, no buts about it.
as for the dub, i cant watch the American ones. the Korean ones are all pretty much okay, i like Blues' voice especially, but i cant remember who did his voice....
EDIT: aargh!!!! i forgot to add my most favorite character's voice!!!!! all hail Matsukaze Masaya!!!!!! (Blues' voice) _________________

Number one, Scott Perrie plays CHAUD, not Protoman (Blues), and number two that's for the ENGLISH dub, not the Korean dub >> |

I like those voice actors, too. Andrew Francis, Brad Swaile, Richard Ian Cox, and Kirby Morrow are total hotties!!!! Let's not forget David Kaye because he is one of my all-time fav English voice actors. *__^ _________________

Seiyuus - None, since I don't have any of the subbed/raw eps.
Dub Actors:
1.Trevor Devall ( For his voicing of Mr. Match)
Quote: | I seem to be one of the ONLY people that like Mr. Match's Scottish Accent |
You're not alone now. ;D Why everyone hates his dub voice I will never understand. I mean, it suits him so well since he really does look like he's from Scotland. :eyes:
2.Richard Ian Cox ( For his voicing of BurnerMan)
Rabid Cupcake!! Bwee!! Also, he does one of my favorite characters from Zoids, Bit Cloud. :]
3. Tie between..... everyone else.
Everyone else's voice suit them either well( BrightMan, StarMan, etc.) or perfectly. ( Maddy, Lan, etc.) And yes, this goes for IceMan too!! _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

Snorfles! Seiyuus are my favourite part of anime. Or one of my favourite parts.
Miki Shinichirou (Burnerman) - Hands down, my all time hero. I love this guy's voice to DEATH. As Burnerman, he just nails the character down perfectly. Fufufu~
Fujiwara Keiji (Meijin Eguchi) - For some reason I just love this guy, and only recentely did I find out that he plays Hughes from FMA too. I was really happy his role of Meijin got expanded once Axess hit. :)
Yoshino Hiroyuki (Plantman) - I just like the smexiness of his voice. Nuff said.
Matsukaze Masaya (Blues) - Not only a phenominal voice seiyuu, but an awesome singer as well. Such a huge fan of Matsukaze!
Ueda Yuji (Higure, Numberman) - Ueda Yuji is one of the few voice seiyuus from EXE whom I was a big fan of before this anime started. I've been a huge fan of his roles as Amiboshi/Suboshi from Fushigi Yuugi as well as Hamel from the Violinist of Hameln. Ueda has been in a large number of roles, and it's great to see that he can play such a huge variety of characters. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. A Seiyuu discussion? JACKPOT!
I do really like a lot of the seiyuu for Rockman, so I guess I'd have to go by the series in which the seiyuu's first character was introduced...
EXE:
1. Ueda Yuji(Higure Yamitaro, Numberman, Coloredman) - He's one of my top five favorite seiyuu. EVER. The fact that he sometimes lets the rougher part of his personality show whenever Higure or Coloredman is upset always reminds me of the first time I heard him as Sano on Kenshin.
2. Miyake Kenta(Elec-Hakushaku, Whaleman, Junkman) - This guy is plain AMAJINGU! He's very energetic and that really conveys through to his characters. It's part of the reason Elec-Hakushaku and Junkman are two of my favorite characters in the anime.
3. Omi Minami(Saloma) - Saloma's one of my favorite characters, and I'm very pleased at the pick for her seiyuu. She often sounds very passive, yet happy at the same time, which is how I've always imagined Saloma to sound in the first place. Plus in "Commander Beef VS. Netto-kun", she got to imitate Kero by announcing at high speed. It's probably one of my favorite moments out of all the Rockman series combined.
4. Futumata Issei(Heatman) - I'd only ever heard him before as Kaidou in Poltergeist Report, so I wasn't sure about how he'd sound when I heard he was playing Heatman. I was pleasantly surprised. Part of the reason I like Heatman as much as I do nowadays is because of the awesome job Futumata did voicing him.
5. Tanaka Soichiro(Freezeman, Ijuuin Shuseki, Cosmoman) - I loved him in Sonic X as Sam Speed, and I think his deep, sometimes cold-sounding voice blends perfectly with Freezeman's character. Freezeman was a favorite of mine from EXE 2, and Tanaka's voicing gave me even more reason to like him.
AXESS:
1. Yasumura Makoto(Flashman) - This guy made Flashman AWESOME. To this day, when I'm putting up Christmas decorations, I can't help but say "KURISIMASU RAITO!", trying to imitate him.
2. Miki Shinichirou(Burnerman) - I know he's a common favorite, but hell, he did such a great job that even I have to admit he made a fan of me. He truly makes me believe that he's a crazy, rabid psychopath.
3. Konishi Katsuyuki(Brightman) - A very, VERY close third. He's another one of those seiyuu that I love because of his high energy performance. Although I'm a fan of his other work, I have to say that Brightman is my favorite of his roles.
4. Hisakawa Aya(Igarashi Ran) - Possibly my second favorite all-time seiyuu, just behind Ogata Megumi. I'm a fan of so many of her roles that it's not even funny, especially the object of my constant fanboy devotion, Mizuno Ami/Sailor Mercury, as well as Chai Xianghua. She comes in 4th here because A. She was only in one episode, so her character never really developed and B. I'm already struggling to think of any of these seiyuu as better than the other.
5. Yoshino Hiroyuki(Plantman) - He does the stereotypical "Pretty boy" voice so well that it melts my ears. Even though he wasn't around as much as the other Darkloids, he still gets my vote. Sadly Shopro just seems to like killing off his rather awesome character. >_<
STREAM:
1. Yamaguchi Mayumi(Dingo) - Another of my all time favorites, and the fact that she plays Dingo, who happens to be my favorite new operator from EXE 5 makes picking her as my favorite all the more easier.
2. Sakaguchi Daisuke(Tomahawkman) - Fancy that, Dingo's navi has my second favorite seiyuu of the series =p. Seriously though, Mayumi and Daisuke sound really great together, which is why I like their characters so much. I even said that "The EXE movie needed more Dingo and Tomahawkman", just because I like their voices so much.
3. Nishimura Tomohiro(Rokushakudama Nenji) - Another awesome pick by the folks in casting. I loved Nishimura as Gigasmon in Digimon Frontier, and he did a superb job doing Nenji as well. Though I admit I'm a little sad that Nenji never said "I'll eat you kindly!" during Stream. >.>
4. Kakazu Yumi(Medi) - She sounds adorable, and yet very mature at the same time. If I was blind and could only identify things by sound, I'd have to pick Medi over Roll to listen to.
5. Chiba Isshin(Barrel the Immortal) - This guy just plain rocks, he made Barrel every bit as confident and badassy as I'd always imagined him sounding.
No favorites for Beast because I haven't been watching it, and no favorites for NT Warrior because I don't watch it at all. Thank you, and good day. _________________

AXESS:
1 [TIE] Mitsuki Saiga (Enzan): AHH~~~ *o* I just LOVE Saiga-san's works!! Be it Jing in King of Bandits, Natsuo in Loveless, Wolfram in Kyou Kara Maou, Robert in Law of Ueki, or Makubex in Get Backers. AND SHE SINGS~~ *O* (and this makes me want the Robert Haydn/Wolfram character single... ;__; ) *fangasms in a corner*
Ueda Yuji (Higure, Numberman): >.> I'm a Shaman King fan, and Horo Horo happens to be one of my favourite characters... so... \o/ (And the chip otaku needs love too.)
2) [TIE] Hiro Yuuki (Laika)/Jun Fukuyama (Searchman)/Matsukaze Masaya (Blues): ^_^ I'm wierd, i know. I haven't quite figured out why I like Hiro Yuuki just yet... Jun Fukuyama... The other characters I've heard him do sounds NOTHING like Searchman! XD But Anon from Ueki and Yayoi from Loveless are cool/funny. >_> I want the XXXHOLiC movie just for Watanuki... Matsukaze Masaya... Why not? (Usukushi~~ *shot*)
3) Akiko Kimura (Rockman, Rush): @__@ ahh~~ Her skill at making Rockman sound all cute and soft-spoken makes me 'squee' like the crazy fangirl I am every other month. @____@ (And she also sings very well. And yes, I am a sucker for people with singing ability and cool voices. >D )
... I want to mention Shinichiro Miki and Katsuyuki Konishi just because I enjoy their other works... Even though I haven't heard Brightman and Burnerman *cries*
Stream:
Akeno Watanabe (Slur): She was awesome as Tayuya~~ XD Hahaha!! And she just sounds cool.... It's such an ironic fate that...
Keiko Nemoto (Forte): Because... Nemoto-san does Shizune from Naruto... and I laugh histerically after making that connection [/narutard moment]
Takehito Koyasu (Iriya): I don't like Iriya himself... But I just LOVE listening to Takehito Koyasu!! Almost all my animes have him in it. Sakano from Gravitation, Ritsu-sensei from Loveless, Rihou from Law of Ueki, Faust the VIII from Shaman King, Aya/Ran from Weiss Kruez, Jubei from Get Backers, and Yoru from Sukisho! (I died when I heard him. )
