I just balk at the fact the Micro has LESS compatibilty that a normal SP. It doesn't play GB/GBC games, also I hear it can't link up to the GameCube with the GameCube cable so I suppose your not going to be playing Crystal Chronicles with it.
In my opinion it's a waste of money, manpower and development time that Nintendo could have poured into something else. _________________

That's a different story then. I can't complain with people who want to just use another 100 dollars to buying a 'fasionable' GBA instead of a 'well-made' GBA. _________________

Yeah but a lot of times these are people who like a game solely on graphics and not on gameplay too. |

Now I currently own a GBA and I like it just fine. I can see why people would have a GBASP too. It is more carryable and has a bult in light. But I see no need for the micro.... if anything it's a step backwards I think |

well, to tell the truth, i don't really like the SP. i mean, i have one and all, but the backlight destroys the battery. every time i want a good playing time, i have to bring along my GBA in case the battery on the SP runs out. the reason i want to get a Micro is because i can use it as a back-up in case my SP dies on me... again. or i can use it as my default Gameboy and use SP as back-up. either way, the Micro would be nice to have because instead of carrying around the GBA (which i must admit, is probably nicer for my giant hands) you can carry around two GBAs (SP and Micro) with screens that you can actually see without having to move into uncomfortable positions just to see what's happening on the screen. _________________ just call me xfyre. not xfyrethespooky. |

Eh, no offense but...you do know when it's shining a red light, it's almost out of battery, no? Why won't you just simply charge it then? _________________

Yes but if you charge it enough when you're home, it should last long enough. |

no, i always have the light on. it'll last a good 3-4 hours of straight-through gameplay. any way, you guys can't change my mind. i'm going to get one. btw, there's another reason the fashion people will want one: you can change the look of it with different faceplates. _________________ just call me xfyre. not xfyrethespooky. |

Ok, that's actually a good idea. Although I'd probally change it too much. That's why I don't have a signature or avatar. |

that has pix of the micro with the different faceplates and stuff. i'm getting the silver micro that comes with the two best faceplates ever. yes, the pink flowers with ladybugs are AWESOME. and so is the black with light blue swirley-thingies. _________________ just call me xfyre. not xfyrethespooky. |

well, i guess since this is an update to the thread, i can double-post, right?
alright. well, i've got it. i must say that the Micro is bigger than i thought it would be. don't get me wrong, it's still pretty small. it comes with a felt bag with a draw-string so you don't have to buy anything to carry it around with. the screen is absolutely fantastic. the size is just right for games like Zelda: A Link to the Past. hte bad thing is, i've tried playing FF4 on it, and i can hardly read the words in that game with the screen. you get used to it, though. even though i have giant hands, the Micro is the right shape for my hands because it is wider than it is tall. the battery can last surprisinglly long (longer than SP's as far as i know. i haven't had a really good playing time yet.). as far as i can tell, the only bad thing i have to say about it is that the L and R buttons are pretty hard to click when you first get one. also, the battery needs to be charged when you get one. it is playable, but not for very long. _________________ just call me xfyre. not xfyrethespooky. |

(Commenting on topic title) Well, I too wanted to get a GBA Micro for christmas but I decided the iPod Video would be a wiser choice. Anyway, the GBA Micro's price tag would drop sooner or later. I have a GBA, the old one without the light, but I already have a DS. (I don't have a GBA SP, FYI) I find it annoying that whenever I bring my DS with me I would have a bulky pocket. The GBA Micro would be so much more comfortable to bring along and be able to pop it out of my pocket to play for a while.
So yea, the reason why most people would want one is because of its convenience/fashionable look but not as a new console. :/ _________________

it's not really the battery, it's the consumption of energy (i just sounded really nerdy there) that the battery has. the SP consumes too much energy when i play it, so it has to be recharged every two or three hours.
the Micro either has a better battery, or it doesn't take as much energy to run it, because i could play it for like 5 hours straight (i bet). _________________ just call me xfyre. not xfyrethespooky. |

I certainly don't. Though it'd be funny if I got one, because then I'd own all 3 versions of the GBA. lol _________________ deviantART / Live Journal / Yaoi Gallery |

I think they're cute, but I dont really NEED one. I just got an SP, and I'm gonan try to get a DS sometime this year before Pokemon Diamon and Pearl are released...but I don't see any need for a GBA Micro.... not to say that I WONT get in the years to come... its a possibility. _________________
