VGR's OT Crap (minor shoujo-ai)

I've just seen your latest piece Vanilla and once again you've outdone yourself with the sheer amount of quality that you put into your work. I noticed the "Just Married" part when I looked at the artwork a second time and it makes a lot of sense seeing that this is Rockman and Roll being depicted. The Trill balloons are very cute. The part that really stood out for me is what I believe to be shattering glass. That was done really well and the glass shards actually appear as being just that. By the way, why did you include the part with the $1,000,000,000,000 in there?

Neo...IS there anything good on Nickelodeon right now? I mean, it's basically gone somewhat downhill for me now that Keenan and Kel "grew up" and their series was discontinued...and most of what I see on there now is just reruns. O_o

Thanks for the comment Ganondorf. Actually, I stuck that much money in there as a kind of comical thing. They're supposed to be crashing out of a painting that is worth a trillion dollars because it took way too much time to CG it to look like that, shattering glass and all. XD

Thanks again N2O. They're actually supposed to be breaking out of a painting, and the thing I was going for in this pic was a sort of "surreal" look, where Rock and Roll suddenly fly out of the painting and through the glass barrier in the real world...I sux at explaining things; I no speak no english no good.

Thanks Magicman; I was surprised that this particular incarnation of Trill struck people as cute since I gave him a Neko mouth, and was told a while back that my overly pronounced Neko mouths generally look rather freaky. Glad you were able to see the good in it though XD

Look who's back. A week or two is hardly prompt for most people, but considering my recent frequency of updating, this one was actually pumped out a lot quicker than usual.

HELP ME, I'M ADDICTED TO BACKGROUND CG'ING <_< Anyway, Ming Yi asked for a collab a while back and I suggested a pic of Laika and Pride doing...something? Later she pumps out a good-looking sketch of both them fighting over which way they really want to go. Over the course of the last three days I blah blah blah. And so this is what came out.

I for one think it looks a little too "busy" because of all the coloring and all; at least it came out pretty decent o____o Heck of a pain to CG, but I'd almost forgotten how fun it was to work with others' lineart ^_^

Up next...uhh...working on some banner type something or other thing.

I was inspired by the classic Disney film Beauty and the Beast and Rockman.EXE BEAST that I wanted my next fairy tale drawing to feature Rockman as the 'Beast' and Roll as 'Beauty'. What do you think?

You and Ming just struck me dead with that collab. I'm quite amused with the color choices here; it really seems to fit the entire scenery.

...Laika's arm and hand looks a bit awkward, and his neck looks too long. I don't have anymore critiques after this; your collaboration just awed me :)

It's cute. ^_^ I like how you put them in other clothes aside from their usual ones. It gives the viewer something else to look at. And all the tiny details just topped it off to give it a 10/10 in my opinion.

I'm not really much a Laika x Pride fan, but this picture is incredible! The coloring style is very nice, especially on the hair. Smile

And The background is astounding...The details and the fact that they have "softer" shading appeal to me. Very cute scene, too, "McImlovinit's" is hilarious. Laughing

meggirl63...umm...Beauty and the Beast, you say? I'll let my thoughts dwell on that one for a moment. As I've mentioned earlier, I'm not really that good with series, reason being my inspiration tends to drain out after say the fourth or fifth pic. Sometimes it frustrates me as to how relentlessly short my attention span is. <_< I'll consider it, though.

Thanks Ming Yi...I wonder what you would have done. XD And yeah, that new jingle and McDonald's new "hip-hop" attitude rather annoy me...not to mention the crap quality of their food -_-;

Thanks Hikari! I wasn't quite certain about the color choices since I didn't have any references, but I'm glad you found them appropriate. I'll also keep those anatomy suggestions in mind for my own future linearts.

Synchro-kun...relationships with a 6-year-old boy are illegal in many parts of the world! *SHOT* Thanks for the comment, and it's nice to meet another Laika x Pride fan since this coupling doesn't seem to get enough justice in the series.

Thanks very much for the compliment N2O, and Laika probably isn't hungry at all; being irritated and bossed around by Pride is more than enough to make even Laika suffer an upset stomach, yes? Smile

Thanks for the comment ChibiForte...and the generous rating =) Ming Yi is actually the one who made the lineart so she gave me different clothes to work with, a refreshing break from the usual stuff they wear in like every episode XD One must wonder if these guys even shower.

Thanks much Koro_Jay. I was trying to follow the anime trend here of backgrounds having relatively softer shading and people/characters/moving objects having a harder cell shading. As for the McImlovinit's...hehe. I can't really say I'm a huge fan of McDorkald's which is why I took the time to mutilate their logo. XD

I like how the background came out. The waterfall is purty. I'm guessing they're on a road trip, and Princess Pride wants to eat, but Laika wants to keep going. (but thats just my input) Anyway, the backround is nice and soft, and the looks on their faces are priceless.

Another well done piece of work Vanilla and a colaboration this time. I like the McDonald's reference in the background and it was a nice touch to have it go along the lines of what it would be like in Sharo. The colouring looks really good and I simply adore the expressions that Laika and Pride are both sporting. I should also say a great job effort for Ming Yi seeing that she drew the sketch originally.
