I've been playing my EXE5 for a while now, and the game is great!
But one thing has been making me feel wierd, has anyone noticed how the game is a LOT more perverted than the previous EXE games?
Not even an hour into the game and Dekao starts saying, "PANTSU!!!" and wants to look at Meiru and Yaito at the boat. Another little while and Netto starts talking about taking off his pants. What the heck?! IS this some kinda joke to make us laugh our heads off, cause it's just confusing me.... -_-; |

It's a badly implemented subliminal message to get you to steal panties for Keiji himself. _________________ Greatness is achieved through the pursuit of greatness. |

The characters are growing up, that's why. :P Netto appears to be going through that stage, and Dekao was always at it. <<;

Heh heh heh... from what I'm seeing, I can BARELY wait for the US version now. I wanna see HOW MUCH they cut from this spot.
So, SR, it's a subliminal message to get Keiji some panties? Well, I guess it's working since I sent him some yesterday! |

Speaking of growing up, do you think Netto'll be a year older IN EXE6 or AFTER EXE6? _________________ 闇の黒井心の本当のカ

Good question.
It is summer in EXE 5, otherwise they wouldn't be out swimming. I'm sure, since EXE 6 has to be some time after this, that they will then be in the next grade. |

Keep in mind we already found out Electopian kids don't advance grades after Summer vacation. That's probably exactly how it works in real Japan too. Plus Japan has a pretty warm climate, so it doesn't neccessarily have to be Summer for them to be swimming. |

I don't have the slightest idea why they translated Japan as "Electopia". >_< And indeed, Japanese students don't necessarily advance grades after summer break. In fact, their summer break doesn't even mark the beginning/end of a school year. (If memory serves, their summer, spring, winter, and fall breaks are about 3 weeks each, as opposed to having one week each in spring and winter and then 10 weeks in summer.)
And not all of Japan has a warm climate; from what I understand, many public toilets in Sapporo have heated seats because the metal is too cold to sit on in the winter. XD However, Densan and the other cities in EXE do have quite a striking resemblance to Tokyo and its surrounding area, which does have a very warm climate.
Okay, now that my little tangent's over, I don't think Netto and co. are growing THAT much older. Netto was 11 and several months into 5th grade in EXE1. He was about to enter 6th grade and still 11 at the end of EXE3. I rest my case. I'm betting that they're STILL 11 in EXE5.
And finally, in that cutscene, I believe Dekao was the only one acting perverted, and he's always like that. If memory serves, Netto was just wondering what the pit Dekao was talking about. I'll have to check that one...
[Edit: Luckily, I happened to find a save file backed up from my game cart via Gameshark. (Ah, finally, something that Gamesharks are good for.) Apparently, they seem to be talking about some skill passed down from ancient times used for changing clothes really quickly. XD Or at least that's what it started out as, I didn't bother to translate the last 1/3 or so of the dialogue.] _________________ Math problems? Call 1-800-[(10x)(13i)^2]-[sin(xy)/2.362x]. |

Well DUH. Why do you think I added the modifier REAL to REAL Japan? I was simply distinguishing between the game and real life versions of the country by calling the game version by its english name. And when in said Japan has a pretty warm climate I didn't mean they had tropical weather all year round, just that there's no reason they can't be swimming around in spring or autumn. |

Go to Google, punch in 'Battle Network 5 Release Data' and you'll get your answer without having to even click on a link, it'll show up on the website description. _________________

Plenty of dialogue changes, you mean. But no scene alerations other than stupid things...like the plug-in sequence in EXE 3... _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

It's pretty possable it's not going to be edited out. Sence in MMBN1 There's a seen when you walk in on Meriu while she's changing and she kicks you out (Thought you don't see her) But sadly I missed this seen so i'm not 100% sure |

I didn't see that scene..Was that in the english version? And was that around the part where you have to go shopping with her to buy a birthday present for Yai? Because i went to Maylu's house and pressed A at the door and it said "You can hear water running..."
The same happens in Megaman 64 though. Megaman walks in when Roll was getting dressed. _________________ *Join RMNSB!*

Alright, I finally went and dug up the screenshots for the BN1 pervert thing.

It's near the beginning of the Stoneman chapter, if I remember correctly.
Though really, why is everyone always leaving out Yai in the Airman scenario in BN2? It was pretty much the same stuff. And don't forget the drunkenness and perverted stalkers in BN4. The BN translators do NOT have big hangups over censorship. Geez, you people. |
