OMG this is so awsome i just found out that Ocean Group will take care of Megaman X Collection production and that they are going to Redub the voices in Megaman X4 and a full english dub of X6 and maybe just maybe a full dub of X5 to. take a look for your self at PMM http://www.planet-megaman.com/
if this is for real then i won't have to hear X's weird voice in X4 LOL _________________

I have a feeling the original voice overs will be better than the redubs.
Also, this isn't Rockman.EXE. |

You think a professional company like Ocean Group is going to do a worse job on X4? Worse than squeaky voiced X? Worse than Colonel who can't decide whether his accent is supposed to be British, Japanese, or drunk? Worse than M.Bison Sigma shouting "Prepare to become SPACE DUST!"
Oh, let me guess. You're talking about the Japanese voice-overs like in X6. You mean the english voice acting is just going to sound worse than the japanese voice acting. Never too early to start complaining about THAT is it? |

Stop being an asshole. I mentioned nothing of the Japanese voices. I didn't even specify which version I was talking about. Why? Because I assumed you'd be smart enough to have a clue about what I was reffering to. You, obviously, couldn't without replying with some half-assed, sarcastic "you obviously are just biased against english dubs!!!!" message. For the record, I do like the voices in Megaman X4 and 5 (note I did not type "Rockman X4/5"), moreso than Command Mission's and X8's. I have my own reasons to believe what I do. Honestly, Raijin. I'd expect more from a 21-year old. >_> |

Woo hoo! No more bad voice acting in X4. Honestly, I swear the voice actors were trying too hard to get emotions across. I know it's unlikely, but maybe when everything is ported over they'll do something about the dialouge that the soccer moms had changed after X4. _________________ created by XHunter17, thanks! There was no voice acting in Megaman X5 >.>;.
This is semi-good news to me. Good because I truely hate X4's voice acting, and bad because I love X6's voice acting. But I guess it doesn't matter since I already have X6 : o. I wonder if they'll leave in Moonlight, the Answer, and I.D.E.A. in X6. I hope so... Seeing Monkey in X5 would also be nice, not gonna happen, though =P. Maybe since they're re-dubbing it that meansthey'll give a better translation for X6? Probably not =P. _________________

Aside from X's voice and "WHATAMIFIGHTINGFOOOooor?!" I can't really see anything wrong with X4's voice acting. Colonel sounded like a colonel which he is, General sounded like a general which he is, Iris sounded like a girl which she is, Double sounded like a fat man which he is, Sigma sounded like a twisted maniac which he is, and zero sounded like a young man which he is. As a matter of fact, I prefer X4's voices to the Ocean Group and no, I'm not kidding. At least in X4 Sigma sounds like a villian, as opposed to X8 where he sounds like a drunken idiot.

Yes there was. Zan is referring to the screams like "uh" and "hah" from X, Zero, and Dynamo. |

Ditto.
I understand redubbing X4 as that was just horrible. They don't have to redub X5 and X6 as they just left them alone when they brought it over and they both sounded fine! I don't see a reason to consider adding voices to X1-3 either as I'm fine with the way they are (though it'll be fun to see what that would bring. An option for voice acting would be great). I'm a heavy Japanese voice acting purist (for a lack of a better word), so sue me. =p
I'm considering just importing the dang thing, but for now, E-mail!

That was just half the post. I was just covering my bases in case that was actually the case. You didn't specify what you meant so I figured either A) I should mock you for thinking X4's voices sounded good (which I am 100% certain the majority of the population disagrees with) or B) I should mock you for being in love with the Japanese voices. I kept both lines "because I assumed you'd be smart enough" to disreagard whichever insult didn't apply to you.
Besides, I wasn't just talking to you. I was pre-emptively snarking at anybody who fell into that category. I think whoever believes X4's voices are worth preserving is nuts, and I'm sticking with it. As for people who believe Japanese voice acting just plain sounds better than English voice acting, that's harder to argue with, and it's almost an opinion I can respect. But I would still prefer people to reserve judgement until AFTER hearing what the voices sound like. |

You know what all your guy's problems are? You technically just bash any little thing you disagree with. Optomism is key, people. Raijin, no more mocking from you, okay? Just because you have an agreement with the 'majority', which is starting to sound alot like elitism, does not mean you can use it to justify anything you just said. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and they should be respected, I have seen you fail at doing this many times in the past, so please, stop. If you think anyone is a nutcase for liking a couple of voices then the only one that's got a problem here is you.
Anyways, I don't care what they do to any of the games, not too huge on the X series... I do think some of the voices in X4 are good. I think though, that everyone should be a bit open-minded about everything, because alot of the other game dubs are really just rumors, if you read the post on PMM. I'd reserve myself about X1-X3 and X5 until it's actually confirmed.
I think they should put some minigames though, I think it'd be fun. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000142872316

But I would still prefer people to reserve judgement until AFTER hearing what the voices sound like. | Well, the Japanese voice acting tends to sound better to me because I don't understand Japanese, and emotion you can hear through inflection isn't quite the same as that of a Western language. Furthermore, Japanese sounds more Western than other Asian languages (ie, vocal sounds in Japanese are ones Westerners would typically associate with speech, unlike Chinese, which IMO sounds like a big slur of odd sounds). Unless the voice acting is so horrible that its shittiness transcends language and culture, it'll generally sound better in Japanese. Basically, the language barrier provides a very, very soft cushion to land on. It's a totally subjective opinion, so there's no use in arguing the finer points.
Not to say that dubs are always bad, but the originals tend to sound better. It's especially true when the dubbing group totally f'ks up matching the voices to the characters, like Megaman X4 (which has rather poor voice acting either way) and Megaman NT Warrior.
And EC, kudos for trying to be a mature arbiter.

"Going with the majority" is actually the opposite of "elitism".
And whoever prefers the old voices are entitled to their opinion, but they have to face the fact that the re-dubbing will be a good thing regardless of what they prefer. They have no right to complain about new voices because the original versions of the games are not being wiped from existence. If they like the old voices so much they can just pop X4 into their PSOne or whatever. Meanwhile, those of us who think the old voices were crap still get what we want. No use about complaining about something not even intended for you.
Edit: Okay, I'm done. I delted bit more of the post because I realized I was starting to take it too far. I'll stand by the rest of what I said, but I'll try not to fan the flames any more. |

Everybody is entitled to their opinions here. Belittling people for those opinions is against the forum's rules. It's not something I'm going to tolerate, so consider this your warning.

I already emailed Capcom about the voice dubbing of X1-X3 and X5, so I really hope they do it! I really think it would be neat to hear them in voice acted glory ^^. _________________

That's debatable and merely a question of personal choice, not a definitive fact. Some 'pros' can easily mess it up as well.
Raijin wrote: | They have no right to complain about new voices because the original versions of the games are not being wiped from existence. |
I don't recall Zan ever 'complaining' about it. He said "I have a feeling the original voice overs will be better than the redubs." which is far from being a complain, all he said was he 'felt' that probably, perhaps, maaaaaybe, the voice overs would be going to be 'better' than the new ones. He didn't even state in what sense. That's hardly complaining.
Next time, you decide to jump on people for asuming they're complaining, wait till they actually complain to say anything. Just because you and many people said the acting was horrible, doesn't mean others will actually like whatever choice of voices are done for the new dub. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

Jaxel broke the news first over here, with all the full details, probably have more as they come... he's really been on the ball with this one.
As it stands, the only redubs in X4 are X, Zero, and Sigma, plus the possible addition of a voice for Light. And the group will likely redo X6 for English, plus give X5 a vocal track as well.
AND, they may even do optional tracks for X1-3 as well. Yes, optional... from what's been said, the option would be there to turn them OFF if you don't want them there, not unlike Navi mode in MMAC, I figure.
