What do you think is the best style in BN2 or 3? Mine is Hubstyle (hense my username), but Bug style is pretty close, except it gives you these retarded bugs like forcing you into the back row or something.

(Oh yeah, and Aquaguts from B2 was awsome!!!!!!!!!!)

What Style do you prefere?

I don't like teamstyle as much as Hubstyle or Bugstyle, but every single time I get a style on BN2, it's either Guts or Team style (with the exception of HubStyle) It got really old fast. I like the charge shots on the AquaGuts Style in BN2, because once you power it up all the way, it takes less than a second for it to charge to the max.

It'd be so awsome if Bugstyle's charge shot gave the enemy a bug. Then it would be a major rival for Hubstyle.

I'd give it a tie between HeatGuts and AquaCustom. Heat for the power, interrupting enemy Navi attacks, and ability to go through obstacles. Aqua for the lightning fast charge shot eliminating the need for chips that fire straight out and allowing for more interesting combinations.

I've always been partial to HeatCustom myself; having both a large selection of chips and a killer charged attack means I can set up some pretty nasty combos.

Depends on how progressed in the game I'm at. Not counting HubStyle which is broken by design, I like WoodShld early, HeatGuts mid-game, and AquaCust end-game. Strip the elementals and add your favourites, I just used the standard styles for examples.

Mmhmm.

Saito Style is an attempt to have "The best of everything"--and in this case, the whole here is greater than the sum of its parts--it had all the pieces of its constituent styles, very much enhanced. A -50% to maximum HP is a fine drawback, but probably not enough to make it as desirable as any of the other styles.

The program for it in the futurre games is slightly more balanced, EXE3 being the notable exception.

Also, with a sufficiently broken folder like I described in the PA thread, only the Cust style effect is really needed. The major advantage of HubStyle would be its null element more than the shield or uber-buster.

Usually I end up with Guts cause I always use my buster...but I think that Elec Guts is pretty cool. It paralyzes, then you can unleash a rapid fire buster with a higher attack power than normal buster.

I have a tie between Aqua Guts and Wood Shadow. Wood Shadow is great because it gives me invisiblility, plus with grass stage it makes rockman almost invincible. Combine it with gaia sword or gaia blade and you've got a powerful rockman. *cackles* Laughing

Aqua guts is great as well, because it doubles buster attack and is fun on an ice stage. I can take out viruses quickly with a nice buster or charged shot.*cackles* Laughing

I find that ElecGuts is my favorite when fighting navis, and is especially usefull when fighting Alpha. And since I wind up using my buster more than my chips, I always tend to get GutsStyle when I want something like CustomStyle or BugStyle. But, while a wood element buster is nice with the bonus of the tornado, my props still go to ElecGuts, which will paralyze your enemies with the charge, then tear 'em to shreds with the rapid-fire! Tee hee, such fun.

Custom, always. Chips are in the end the most powerful attacks in your arsenal and the ability to be able to choose from more of them every turn is not a light advantage. Electric is my least favourite element, not because it's bad but simply because it's charge shot takes too long to charge.

Woodguts, custom, and bug Styles work against Alpha really good for me, 'cause you can use the invincible glitch for WoodStyle (Grass Stage, Undersht, and WoodStyle) and kill Alpha easilly.

In BN2, you only get seven chips in the screen, but with HubStyle, you get all ten slots filled in. I don't know about BN3, but I think it's the same way, and with BugStyle, you get that and a whole lot more. If you could get Custom Style's ability, AND other cool stuff, would you take that, or would you take the one with only one ability?

All of the styles have there sterengths and weaknesses. Minus Hub and BugStyle, my favorites would also be 1. Guts of BN2, and 2. Custom Style from BN3, because I think it gives you ten chips. I'm not sure.

Hmm... In BN2 I so enjoyed my Heat Guts until I got Hub Style. I could NEVER resist the power of not flinching.

In BN3 I enjoyed messing about with Heat Bug, but that was only for its Bug Stop. Still, invincible, Barrier 100 and 10 chips were very very handy. Maxed Buster probably served little use, as my Navicust was designed heavily for maximal Buster.

You seem to be missing a point here--

In EXE3, Custom Style allowed for an inherent +1 to hand size and more based on what programs were installed. The only way to have 10 chips at the opening screen is to be Custom and have a Custom+2 and Custom+1 installed.

In EXE3, Bug Style did give the opportunity to have a hand size of ten--but the key here is luck. This was in a pool with about ten other effects, and assuming that these effects are chosen perfectly randomly, we can expect that it is not often that you will get a desired effect. Herein lies another problem--luck versus a safe bet. This concept sees light in many ways, such as whether to take the Banker's $63,000 deal or risk opening three more cases, or whether to take Monty's $500 buyout in order not to go for whatever is behing Curtain #3.

In games like this, skill cannot completely overcome terrible luck, so often it is best to take the safe bet. Even if you do not get a game-winning advantage from the start, a skilled player will have consistent starts, and that can lead to a better win percentage in the long run.

I thought the point was to avoid mentioning Hub/Saito Style since it's supposed to be inherently broken. After all you only get it after doing almost everything possible.

For me, it's definitely HeatGuts style

The Guts style is quite useful, a rapid-blaster-buster can be useful between battlechips, with some NaviCust elements, it can make a lot of damage and even pass trough obstacles and armors/barriers

The Heat element is very useful, a powerful charged buster, not as large as the Aqua and Elec ones but way more easy to use than Wood one, combined with a grass field, it can deal a lot of damage
