|
|
We begin early with Warrock facing the Satellite Admins, telling him that he's not an FM, but an AM. Roy Mus- er, Dragon Sky, tells him that this is the final battle. In the real world, the Starforce battlecards rise into the air, and each satellite shoots an optic blast towards them. (I'm not kidding.) There is a great burst of light, and then the three Starforce Rockmen thingies from last weeks preview fliy up to harass Andromeda.
Title Screen: FM King Cepheus
Gonta and Kizamaro managed to wake Subaru up. He looks up to see the things buzzing Andromeda. According to Warrock, they're the AM Seijin. One of them managed to destroy Andromeda's left arm, and the other one soon follows.
Subaru tells the others to get back and transforms before Gonta and Kizamaro's eyes (Luna is still out cold). The Pegasus AM cuts right through Andromeda, and Subaru finishes it with a Break Sabre. Gemini Spark looks on in shock, while Cancer Bubble and Misora look on. Andromeda crashes into the ground, and its eyes dim. Rockman has won.
Spark Black curses Rockman. He starts to say something to Spark White, but his companion doesn't let him. Instead, he runs him through. Gemini Spark Black, deleted. And of course, the Andromeda Key reaches max capacity.
Subaru jumps up to the Wave Road to stop him, but with a leer worthy of Dark Rockman, Spark White uses the Key to revive Andromeda. It isn't over yet. Cue evil laugh. Andromeda starts to drill into the Earth again.
Spark White laughs again and zips into the air to make his escape, with Subaru in hot pursuit. In outer space, aided by the Gravity Stage card, the boy finally manages to catch up, restraining his friend. Andromeda continues to drill.
Spark White decides to complicate things by chucking away the Key (further evidence that Ryuusei doesn't give a shit about physics), and beating it. Subaru is forced to go after the Key. At the very last second, Warrock catches it in his jaws, and shatters it, this time breaking it into tiny shards, like he should've done 20 episodes ago. Andromeda is, finally, no more, and the Earth is safe at last.
Spark White, meanwhile, asks himself why the Earth isn't destroyed. Ahead on the Wave Road is a ball of light, which rapidly expands. Spark White gasps in shock, and is torn to pieces by it.
Subaru lands safely on a Wave Road next to Misora and Cancer Bubble. He tells them the Key is no more. Cancer Bubble breaths a sigh of relief, then jumps as the green light appears in the sky. A voice speaks out to them.
Cancer Bubble starts trembling. He says that it's the FM King.
The King begins to speak. Appearently, he did get Daigo's Brotherband in the end. He then reveals that Warrock is indeed an AM, much to Subaru's shock. Warrock asks the King about Daigo...
...Only to discover that XEBEC has completely bastardized Cepheus's design. Not only is he incredibly huge now, they gave him goddamn legs! The bastards! He looks more silly then he ever did in the game! And without a word, the bememoth King Cepheus beams Suabru with some kind of light.
Subaru finds himself in an empty place. A voice calls his name, and Daigo appears behind him. Cute reunion scene here. Daigo is glad that Subaru is doing well, but he can't come back just yet. He shows his son a scene of countless stars and galaxies, and goes on about the Brotherband and the FMs. Sadly, I can't understand any of this. But it seems that Daigo wants to explore space as a radiowave, at least for the time being. At least, that's the impression I get. He tells his son to give his regards to Akane, and then vanishes. Subaru reaches out to him, but finds himself back in the real world, at the place where he first met Warrock. Tsukasa lies in the grass nearby.
Next scene is sometime later. Luna, Gonta and Kizamaro are walking to school, Luna all embarrassed/angry that the person she's had a crush on was actually Subaru all along. Subaru doesn't help matters by running past her.
He eventually slows up as he's caught up to Tsukasa, also walking to school. They greet each other. Tsukasa seems a little down over the events he was part of, but a quick quip from Warrock, and some reassurance from Subaru cheers him up. Tsukasa smiles, and the two of them walk through the entrance to the school yard together.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next Week on Tribe: A man lies in a coffin (I'm guessing that he's Hyde). His eyes slowly open. Dude who looks like a rabid Dotarou sneers. Yeti Blizzard looks at the Sword Oopart dismissively. Phantom Black holds his staff menacingly. Gonta and Kizamaro have Star Carriers, and Subaru performs Denp Henkan in a dark room.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, a quick rundown. The Satellite Admins turn kamikaze themselves in order to defeat Andromeda, Tsukasa kills Gemini, Warrock disposes of the Key properly, Cepheus is now some god-like figure rather than a misguided ruler, Subaru finally gets to see his dad, and Tsukasa becomes good again. The end.
I dunno about this ending. Cepheus was obviously shoehorned in at the last second, Spark White singlehandedly creates a plot hole, and the Admins kill themselves off in under two minutes. Way to go writers.
That being said, I liked the reunion of the Hoshikawas, and the scene with Subaru and Tsukasa at the end, and I liked the music played during said scene. Looking back on the series as a whole however, I feel that those twenty some episodes of filler would have been better spend expanding on the plot a bit more. Whatever happened to Misora's motivation to start singing? Was Gemini the manipulating bastard he was in the game? Did the hosts of Wolf and Cancer drop off the face of the planet?! And why the **** were there no Jammers?
Well, Tribe seems to have more stuff to work with, and the story is supposedly cooler and deeper than Ryuusei's (though that isn't saying much), so I hope it'll make up for Ryuusei's second half, which was overall pretty lackluster.
Next week we have new show, new plot, new characters, new art director, and new opening. Hope it'll be good. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

I would've thought killing part of yourself would have an effect on Gemini...ah well.
I'm with you that for the finale, it seemed kinda cruddy. Even though Andromeda came back thanks to the final bit of FM juice, he went down really quick and with quite the weak attack from Rock. With all the freeze-framed gasps of drama when War Rock bit down on the key, I wondered if the world actually was going to explode or something. And when time sped back up, I just kinda went, "What?!" Cepheus looked like an amusing little elf who can shoot more optic blasts from his neck. The art had a few moments, but was mostly decent at best.
The reunion scene obviously was the most touching and probably best part of the episode. Other than the two individual scenes of surprise for both of the Geminis. Would have thought there might have been more between Gonta/Kizzy/Luna and Subaru after the battle, so that was sorta disappointing, too.
Very eager for any scene translations that might surface eventually. And for Tribe to start, because it already looks more action packed in the first episode than this finale was. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Cepheus sounded really familiar...like...really familiar...
So, the AM Seijin all suicide bombed Andromeda...way to go. They didn't die in the game. D: Well...maybe they aren't dead. Maybe the cards are dead. And you notice how Subaru was like "*gasp* Pegasus Magic!" It's almost like he was only concerned for Pegasus Magic. XD
In that preview for Tribe, I believe the man with the golden fang is Yeti Blizzard's human host...doohickey. I believe. _________________

I've thought about it a bit, and now I'm thinking Cepheus was done by Megumi Ogata. I was like, ''Wait a minute, Cepheus sounds a hell of a lot like Harpuia.'' _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Don't care for DragonSky or LeoKingdom? >_>
No Jammers. No background on Misora/Tsukasa. No actual background on any character other than Subaru and...somewhat War-rock.
And Tsukasa was just forgiven...like that...yeah....
Somewhat sad the series ended, but at least we have Tribe to look forward to. And Tribe sounds very good so far. _________________ "But there's no sense crying over every mistake.

Yeah, I'm surprised Gemini W didn't die off when he stabbitie'd Gemini B, considering that's kinda Gemini and he kinda needs Gemini to pull off Denpa Henkan.
But Tsukasa can smile and you can let him rape you if he keeps smiling. He's that good. And well, the only reason why he probably did any of that was because he got hit by a truck. Yes. You can become evil people if you get hit by a truck, especially if your hair is green. Like Noa Kaiba. _________________

I sure missed the Jammers, since they were among my fav enemies because they looked crude and had Gattlings. Maybe Tribe will have them(I sure hope so).
Ah well, the last episode did leave me with a great lacking feeling. But if they don't wanna use the Jammers they wont and we can only hope the next season will have less fillers. But Tribe has 10 transformations to introduce, so I think it will be way less fillers.

Yeah, Ryuusei should have just quit 20 episodes ago. Or at least taken another episode to build up to the finale- they could have used one to properly put Andromeda down to rest, and then another to clean up the mess caused by everyone finding out Sube's secret, WarRock's identity, etc. I don't think anyone would have complained if they had dropped a filler to make it happen.
Cepheus... I almost prefer the wimpy version of his character more than this one.
The chase after the Key and the reunion were the only two parts of the episode that grabbed me. Everything else was just kinda... meh.
Now for the big question... if Gemini kills off Gemini, does that count as suicide or murder? XD

That won't help if they run through 4 in a single episode, like they did with the Crossfusion Rangers in Stream. _________________

There's no guarantee we'll get all of Ryusei 2's transformations. Stream ignored all but one of EXE5's Soul Unisons. I have a feeling Tribe will get the three transformations we see in all the promotional art (Fire Dinosaur, Green Shinobi, and Thunder Berserk)... And Tribe King, but that's it. _________________

Make that 13 transformations, since I found out about another 3 more. You can also switch the order on the transformations. Like Shinobi Berserk and Berserk Shinobi.

No clue if it's on Youtube anywhere, but if you can't wait for the HQ, GSR Megauploaded a timestamped version in the episode sharing thread over at On-Air. If you haven't checked in there by this time yet, that is... _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

It does exist:

Overall, the episode was good in terms of content. Though, I must disagree with one thing. I kinda liked Cepheus' god-like projection over his floating body form in the Star Force game. It makes his profile a little more... cute. |

Okay, after watching it, I can think of a few things. When everything was kinda "set right" after everything, I think Tsukasa lost the aid Gemini gave him when he got squished by the truck, because Subaru asks him how his body was doing. However, he doesn't remember a lot of what's happened and that's got him sad or something.
As for Luna and them, Gonta and Kizzy ask Luna if she saw that Subaru is Rockman, and she denies it and denies that Subaru is her beloved Rockman-sama. _________________

Yeah, it seemed to me that Tsukasa didn't remember the events, which is why Subaru freaked out when War-Rock spoke, because Tsukasa probably doesn't know who War-Rock is. And this all makes sense considering that Tsukasa was in such pain during that two-part comet arc. The comet was doing weird things to FMs, and I bet it was lessening Gemini's grasp on Tsukasa, hence the returning pain to his human body...
UPDATE - So, OK guys, I can't believe I didn't think of it before, but when the three Admins go and beat up on Andromeda, doesn't it just scream "Powerpuff Girls?" I mean, the colors even match! _________________

Now I know who Cepheus reminded me of...he sounds like Forte.
His 30 second visual appearance is quite depressing. I'm still perplexed about something about Andromeda...didn't it fall into the Earth's core? Then how did it get frozen in ice? .-.
So, the art for this episode...I found it to be acceptable...Gemini Spark had some good shots..and this was probably Andromeda's best appearance in it's transformed state. _________________

I did some more thinking, and I believe that's it. Keiko Nemoto's Forte with echo effect... Sounds about right.
But the whole ''We attacked the station 'cause the FM King said so', 'We will destroy your planet in the name of the FM King', 'I'm scared shitless by the FM King' really frustrates me when the FM King has a whopping like, two minutes of footage, only fifteen seconds actual screentime, and has his original Capcom design shat on. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

That's pretty in line with the anime adaptations of the Rockman.exe/Ryuusei verse. Cepheus getting redesigned a bit is one thing, but you get dire reworkings of backstory and omissions of important stuff in EXE too. Forte being a HUGE example. |
