I was just kind of wondering to myself whether people wished there would be more EXE anime.
Personally, Cross Fusion and Net Saviors kind of killed the anime for me. It sounded cool in the beginning but then the anime became a "monster-of-the-week" sort of show. I liked it better when Netto and Rockman haphazardly stumbled into situations and the show didn't feel so one sided towards Netto saving the day. (I know Rockman is half of R-Rockman, too, but it felt like the anime became all about Netto until Beast). So, I'm ok with it ending rather than dragging on after the games.
However, I would like to see an OVA actually about the games. Specifically, I'd like to see something involving Saito.bat... But I feel like if we got anything it would be a RyuuseixEXE sort of thing. _________________ Friendship is a promise made in the heart

Personally, yes.
If you're talking about putting more episodes in America, then no. I'd rather not hear poor dubbing actors. _________________ As a Deviant, I work alone on my projects.

I could easily go for more anime. It would be nice to see. SF or EXE? |

Silly question to ask people on an EXE fan site.
Of course! Though I too would like a return to Rockman doing most of the action.
Saito.bat would be killer, dude. Tubular. |

Of course! But with one little weird thing of mine... I wish they could redo Beast+ like a normal season, with full episodes (maybe more of them? that I'm not so sure on). I felt like they could've done more with Cache and some of the characters they introduced. It also would've given characters who weren't Netto time to do more.
I agree on the Cross Fusion thing to a point. It can't be ignored--it and the Net Saviors were part of the anime for most of its airing, after all--but I also think it went a little too far (why can they fly? why are there so many of them? whyyyyy). But I'd be reluctant to scrap everything the anime did and start over. I think Cross Fusion could be cut back so it was only used once every few episodes instead of once every episode. Having a more Internet-based group of baddies would easily get rid of it. Or maybe give each character some sort of unique ability, justifying it? (like, idk, heat vision/night vision on cf blues and enhanced hearing on cf roll. not flying, that's what air shoes is for. wow, this got off-topic.)
And thirding the game-based OVA on top of all that! ^^ |

Hm. Beast+ was actually very enjoyable. I noticed that the animation quality went up a lot. I'd have liked to see it as full episodes, too. I could get behind it being made into a season.
I still stand firmly on the belief that OVAs based entirely on the games would be much better than full on anime seasons, but I'm curious, yay-sayers, what would you have the anime do from here if it was continued? _________________ Friendship is a promise made in the heart

Of course it went up--not as much to animate! ;P But yes, that enjoyableness of Beast+ is what I want to see more of. There were great ideas, but I felt like some of them (Cache is the one that pops to mind) weren't as explored as they could've been, and half the characters either got forgotten or didn't contribute, which was what I felt Beast was really good about. So basically expand on Beast+ and give more people who aren't Netto important things to do, and you've got Dream Beast+. :D
As to what I'd have it do... wow, good question. And this answer just kept getting longer. FEEL THE NERDINESS!
- Bring back the budget! It doesn't even have to be nearly always on-model like in EXE. Axess quality would be fine. Just not Beast.
- Continue on with what was set up in Beast. Meiru and Roll were growing stronger, able to use a Program Advance--maybe it's my Meiru fannishness coloring my judgement, but it seemed like she was finally able to fight alongside Netto, just like she wanted in Stream. Make her a Net Savior and ditch the Rush Synchro Chip for the real deal, they never really seemed to notice it was there anyway.
- Give the gang more opportunities to pitch in (something else that happened in Beast). Enzan got through the whole anime without getting put through a Yaitomobile, which is a terrible horrible fact.
- More Dingo! Another Beast element. ^^
- Going along with the Beast section, more Meijin and Makoto being cute! :D
- But Laika should stay the guy who pops in and out. I like him, and I like the idea of the Net Savior Trifecta, but really, he and Enzan are so similar. This doesn't mean Laika wouldn't get as large a chunk of time as he got in Beast, it would just mean he wouldn't be getting a larger proportion.
-Bring back the 'area' thing. 52-episode plots are good when they can be managed, as in Axess, but did Stream really need all that time? There could be those 52-episode areas, but then there could be seasons of two 25/26 areas or something completely weird, like 37/15 or however long was needed. Flexibility is power!
- We're flying on without the games now! Netto's... what, thirteen? Fourteen? New clothes at least for Netto, Enzan, and Meiru! (and Yaito, since she's getting taller.)
- And new PETs, which won't get replaced after a year! Going with that, one last new CF design for all the main Net Saviors, probably using that ability thing I said last post. Replace the flying with robotverse-style dash/walljump abilities and there you have it!
- But don't use that shiny new stuff too often. Take the focus off Cross Fusion. Human/Navi teams of bad guys, plz!
- Bring back the net mafia-style enemies, but make sure they're good, interesting characters and genuinely threatening enemies.
- Make a rogues' gallery for more lighthearted episodes or ones where there just needs to be a break. People like Chirol, Gauss (is he? or did he go straight after stream? that season needs subtitles), Nyuudou, and probably others were all wandering around with Navis. What do they get up to? How do they interact with the new mafia in town?
- MM9/10 Navis! (Narcy and Jewelman!)
- Either depower Netto or power up his friends. The Beast Chips work because the writers have to cram so much stuff into nine minutes--put in a Beast Chip, BAM your fight scene's done. They'd be awful if there was time for actual strategy. Even before then, Netto was throwing down chips like Gigant Hook, and he's got all those Souls! Rockman's got Blues and hypothetically Roll on his side, too--they need something like a Cross more than he does at this point. (another reason to either remake Beast+ or dismantle it and put bits of it into each part of the hypothetical anime. There could be an entire area just dealing with Cache, Yuuichirou could give Roll and Blues the Cross System...)
- A subplot where the Netto and Enzan rivalry comes back for a couple episodes. Enzan may not be as much of a jerk, but that doesn't mean he'll just settle for constantly sitting and watching CF Rockman bash heads in. (perhaps the Cross thing is related.)
- But for the most part, I really liked the fact that Enzan was certainly still aloof to some degree and not the crazy hyper kid like Netto was, but they were still friends and partners like in no other version of EXE. So have more of that! And also give him more to do, like the possible thing up there. ^^
- And give Meiru stuff to do, too. The challenges being a Net Savior comes with, like having to calm down and take charge in an emergency... finding out stuff... things like that. ^^
- While I'm giving people stuff to do, give Netto stuff to do so he doesn't feel left out. He does get overconfident sometimes. ^^
- Cyber City! Hypothetical Team Net Savior goes undercover for a series! Cain is a great example of a threatening human baddie--I mean, he only controls the ENTIRE CITY. >D It would also get rid of some of the Net Savior trappings by necessity, since they're going to be blending in with and hanging out together with normal kids. Also, sneaking around and stumbling into clues much like in the old days. I picture Proto in here somewhere... it would be very different from the game, but that's part of the anime's charm.
- now we're scraping the silly bottom of the barrel, but Beat for Rockman and Tango for Blues. I liked Rush's cute little episode--filler is inevitable, why not make them cute and fluffy fillers. They could get dumped at one of those pet daycare things for an episode and cause chaos.
- MOAR AFRO. :D :D :D Much to Enzan's dismay.
- Exploration. The Internet is huge and filled with tons of different people. There's always something that can be brought into the EXE world or expanded on or done with a twist or whatever. If Beast proved anything, it's that the sky's the limit--even sci-fi elements have been brought in before. There's plenty out there for the gang to find.
...and there might be things I'm missing, but that 'exploration' one sums it all up nicely. And it's not like anyone is actually going to read that wall of text. So in short: GET OUT THERE AND EXPLORE!! :O |

Wow, that's too many XD
I'd say more, Cache being a series ending is too cut short, some Game exclusive characters never appeared in the Anime, yes, I'm referring to Saito.
A new Net-Mafia seems interesting, get characters with their own screen time, not just Netto/Rockman, Enzan/Blues and Laika/Searchman. Ditch a little with Cross Fusion, we need the Internet-battles mode back.
Get characters a new costume, not just the same thing over and over again. Well, Yaito never changes her design, saying it was her favorite design since EXE52 *shrugs*
Disco Enzan and Raoul needs more screen time too, and I'm too disappointed that their only used that for TWO times, Axess 37 and Stream 15, it should have been 3 if Enzan didn't reject the idea in Steam 29.
As for the character screen time, like Gauss, I think, he didn't get straight, but he still have the cross-dressing under his clothes until Beast+. Generic Navis need to fight, too, not just anyone with a custom Navi.
Or, get someone to badly hurt Rockman and Yuuichirou told Netto that Rockman was actually his twin brother Saito, and gave him the Saito.bat program to reset his DNA to original so the twins link again or something similar.
I liked the Meiru being a Net Savior, she needs more screen time too although I could actually see her being a distraction than any help (I'm looking at you Beast 22). But the Synchro Chip still hanging on Rush could mean something... Ah screw it.
I have more ideas, but this is just starting to get me type everything in my head. _________________ Signature here, signature there. |

Goodness, that's a lot! I guess if they did clean up the series a little another season wouldn't be so bad. I know there's a LOT of robot masters I always wanted to see Navi versions of. (Centaurman for one.)
I think that they should have given the other characters more screen time, too, but when I think of the games none of them except Meiru and Enzan really got any character development past their enterance/story arcs in the games. Sadly, Megaman series never seem to invest too much into their characters except for the main two or three.
What I would absolutely LOVE to come back is the Masa/Higure/Mariko triangle. I miss our Commander Beef and his lackies, too. _________________ Friendship is a promise made in the heart

Yes.
I could ramble on and on, and maybe I will when I don't have a ton of homework to do, but I'll stick with these two for now:
1. Cut down the amount of people who can do Cross Fusion. Maybe this means being separate from the main anime arc. (And by extension, maybe a reboot! Just imagine...) Having pals is all swell and dandy, but I liked the focus on Rockman being the main hero. I got tired of all the other cross fusion people. It's like they just chucked free synchro chips out.
2. Saito. |

Oh yes, I miss the Masa/Higure/Mariko triangle too, the last we saw them was Axess 32, I think. When I rewatch the episode because I miss it, when Higure said that Beef is actually Masa I was like: "Oh noez Higure you revealed Beef's identity to Mariko!" and after Mariko swept the suspection away, I was like: "Phew..." ... Yeah.
I got more ideas XD
- Give them the chance to go to another location for the Net Saviors, as Blue said, Cyber City. And Seaside Town, Green Town, and Sky Town.
- Get back Commander Beef! I miss his lackies, too XD
I couldn't think more, but I think I'm running out of ideas... _________________ Signature here, signature there. |

This is fun! *cookies and hearts for all!*
The way I see it, the only CF Members anyone ever needs to see again are CF Rock, CF Roll, CF Blues, and CF Searchman. I wouldn't even bother designing new Cross Fusions for the rest--I can't think of any situation where they'd be needed. That's the one good thing about the CF Members--the non-Net Savior members' Synchro Chips are in that safe in the Ministry of Science. Who needs a reboot when you can just let it fade from memory?
I'm pretty sure the last of Commander Beef is 32, too. Beyondard Masa is okay and all, but he's just not the same. ._. I don't think I'd ever put Commander Beef and his team back at the center of an Area unless it wasn't an especially serious one. They're lighthearted by nature, IMO. But light isn't a bad thing to temper the more serious bits, and I really feel like sacrificing the triangle wasn't worth it in the long run. So in short, come back, Net Agents! :D I guess most of all, I remember missing EXE's supporting cast; it felt so much more lively than Axess onward's. But I still like Axess's sense of danger and storyline. I guess I want a blend of EXE and Axess, and Beast came the closest to what I wanted? Maybe I'll work that out more tomorrow. O_o
I think the best thing about the anime is that there's a chance to expand characters beyond their game counterparts. EXE's a huge world, but a properly planned anime with enough seasons could do a bang-up job of showing it. That's why I'm so attached to the three-person team idea; they stay constant so other people can come and go as the plot's focus changes around.
Couple of random things I remembered!
-idk why, but I picture Clockman just randomly showing up and trolling Team Net Savior. Sort of like Q, but not quite. "Watching you people squirm is funny! Have fun in the past/future/whatever, kids!"
-Net Saviors from other countries, as well as more adventures in different locations. We know they're international, so who's guarding Kingland? Whatever Australia's called? (Splashwoman is!) Choina?
-Fossa Ambiences, what's up with all of those? As I remember, Beyondard was supposed to be set to rights--no more Dimensional Area in the sky, no more cracks in the universe. Yet I'm pretty sure both are seen in Beast+. What's going on there? (maybe I should rewatch those episodes before I say this. ^^ |

I'm pretty sure that "Dimensional Area in the sky" only appeared in Stream.
CF Roll flying in the sky... I couldn't imagine, it's so hard, or she should remain in the ground while the 3 boys fly and battle while she battle enemies in the ground, oh my.
Clockman in EXE Universe... Then messed up the timeline in which Ryuusei characters appear in EXE Universe because someone messed up the timeline between the 2 Universes.
There's too much to think, too many ideas XD _________________ Signature here, signature there. |

Clockman! When I first heard about this guy and his little Ryuusei/EXE arc I was like "This makes about as much sense as a poorly executed fanfic! Yay Capcom!" But I would see that as most likely to happen if EXE was included in any anime from here out. Some OVA or movie about that little side story.
When I think about it I'd also like to see more Rush. What happened to Rush? I don't even remember! It was like Beast happened and he was just gone... O_o _________________ Friendship is a promise made in the heart

I really would have liked to see EXE continue! I don't know why, but it felt... unfinished to me.
And yes, I agree. The fact that Saito.bat wasn't in the anime made me so sad! I wish they would have fit that in somewhere.
Roll and Meiru definitely need to... uh, do stuff. I can't name one time she's really succeeded in battle. (Except I think she did win sometime in that tourney but I can't quite remember) And I really like Roll. ;_;
Cross fusion also got old really really fast. _________________ Death by fire, by cold, by crushing, by blade... Did the end come as you

For seriously!? Aw, but Rush was so cool! I hate it that the anime just kind of wrote characters out with little to no explination. I don't mind their appearances decreasing, but being entirely written out is sad.
I have to agree that the anime did feel unfinished. I really think that after EXE Beast was probably the best handled where it went back to mostly navi action rather than cross fusion and I loved having them all in the same world together. But it didn't feel like the anime itself had come to any real conclusion... Beast+ might have been able to do it if it wasn't so rushed together into 15 minutes. _________________ Friendship is a promise made in the heart

Clockman doesn't even have to do stuff involving SSR. He can just be one of those 'rogues' gallery'-type enemies, and randomly be a pain. (If they did do SSR, I'd say only spend maybe four episodes on it and make the SSR end based off the games, not the anime.)
Quote: | I have to agree that the anime did feel unfinished. |
That's what really bugs me about the anime--there was so much more they could've done, so much they seemed to be working towards, and Beast especially showed that they were getting back on the right track after Stream. And then Beast+ showed up, and there wasn't enough time for most characters who weren't Netto to do anything. And yeah, the ending was pretty unsatisfying. I also felt like the short time just created even more plotholes, such as...
Quote: | I'm pretty sure that "Dimensional Area in the sky" only appeared in Stream. |
Not quite what I meant. I'm talking about the Dimensional Area-like effect in Beyondard, which allowed the Navis to come out for ten-minute periods. When Crazy Angel CF Rockman got rid of it, he and the others returned to their world because stability had been restored and all the Fossa Ambiences were closing. But Chirol and Kurohige get through one, and the digging guys who I can't remember the names of get through another. I don't think either group ever returns to their home world. What's more, the digging guys act like the Dimensional Area-like effect is still around, and they even wind up chasing a huge substantiated virus. What's going on there? We never get an answer because there's no time for one. :/
Quote: | When I think about it I'd also like to see more Rush. What happened to Rush? I don't even remember! It was like Beast happened and he was just gone... O_o |
Lots of people disappeared in Beast. I think Misaki got a mention later in the series, but he never shows up in person. Anetta vanished somewhere in Stream, too. And I can't believe I almost forgot Forte! I think part of the reason why that happened is because Beast was pretty tightly paced, and a lot of those sorts of characters didn't have anything to do any longer and sort of faded out of the picture. I think it's kind of natural, since if someone has nothing to do, it's kind of a waste of time to focus on that character. But it's true that they can still show up in the background or as randomly tagging along or whatever.
Now, what really bugs me is The Great EXE-to-Axess Write-Off... but that's a whole 'nother story. |

The disparity between the styles of the original seasons and Axess onward has always been strange to me.
You know what would be awesome? EXE reboot/resume on 3DS with a concurrent anime. Oh please oh please oh please. It's rumored that the system will have gamecube-like graphics. PLEEEEASE! Where were those interviews where the OSS producer said they were discussing the future of the series? Something's gotta happen! |
