Chapter 08:Samara's Wickedness

Starman leapt out of the way as one of Dyscis's swords crashed into the ground.

"Why?!?" He asked.

"Samara has complete control over me...and as much as I don't like it, I have to obey her." Dyscis replied, taking several stabs at Starman, which were dodged.

"Than why were you helping us?" The galactic navi replied.

"I don't like this cycle she's putting people through...so I tried to help, but..." Dyscis said.

"I have no choice. She's making me attack you." He swung his swords and launched several shockwaves.

They hit Starman full force and knocked him back.

"Sword Rain!" He shouted, and launched a ton of stabs into Starman.

The navi choked up cyber blood. Dyscis raised a sword and Starman thought Dammit...it this my end?

"Barrier! Slot-in!" Starman was saved from the blow.

"Hey, why did you have to go and wake me up?" Fuyuki joked to his navi.

Starman smiled and said "You couldn't have saved me before he stabbed me, eh?"

Fuyuki glared at Samara.

"How dare you!!!" He said, and punched her.

She showed no sign of pain, and merely moved his hand away.

Fuyuki growled.

"You bitch."

He looked to his PET.

"Starman, show Dyscis that technique we've been working on."

Starman nodded.

"Galaxy Hold!" Starman shouted.

Two space-like rings appeared around Dyscis and trapped him.

"What the...?" He asked.

"Black Hole!" Starman shouted, and a black hole appeared.

"Special Technique: Space Obliteration!" He shouted, and using the Galaxy Hold, tossed Dyscis into the black hole.

Dyscis appeared back in Samara's PET, beat up from the ravages of the black hole.

"Samara...I'm sorry..." He said.

Samara held up the PET to level her other hand.

"Oh, no..." Dyscis said worriedly.

Samara pulled her other hand back.

"Please, have mercy!" Dyscis said, even more worriedly.

Her hand became a fist.

"PLEASE!!!" Dyscis shouted.

Samara punched the PET into shattered pieces, deleting Dyscis. Starman and Fuyuki gasped. Samara turned her head to Fuyuki.

"He was your own navi! How could you?!?" He shouted, and dashed at her to punch her.

However, Samara warped a slight distance away. She than reached out and strangled Fuyuki with one hand. He started choking.

"Damn...you!" He said through chokes.

He forced her grip off. Samara glared and warped away.

"Oh, geez..." Fuyuki said.

Starman's hologram appeared in the real world on Fuyuki's shoulder.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

Fuyuki nodded.

"Dammit...she's strong, for a dead freak." Fuyuki said.

Starman said "And she could destroy her own navi for that one mistake...she's truly evil."

Fuyuki nodded.

"Man...we really need to find some way to defeat her, but at the present state of her constantly attacking us for surviving, it's gonna be hard to think." He said.

"Maybe all of you guys should go somewhere on a small vacation?" Starman asked.

"I don't see why not..." Fuyuki said sleepily.

"I'm going back to bed." He said. Starman and he said goodnight, and both went to bed.

The next day, Dingo, Netto, and Fuyuki were all at the Hikari Household. Their TV was turned to face the wall, so whenever Samara came out, she would bump into the wall. Dingo looked curiously at it.

"Does that work?" He asked.

At that moment, a huge thump was heard and Samara growling.

"Yeah. That's the 5th time today she's tried to come out of the TV." Netto said.

"For a dead girl who can kill people in 7 days with a tape, she's not too smart..." Tomahawkman remarked.

"Well than...we all decided we're going to take a vacation, but where should we go?" Rockman asked.

They all discussed ideas. Netto wanted the YokaYoka Hot Spring resorts. Dingo and Fuyuki were against it, but they both readily agreed when Netto grabbed the TV and threatened to turn it back around.

"But just the three of us? All guys at a hot spring resort? That'll make us look like we're into shounen-ai or something..." Dingo said.

"Oy. Well, it wouldn't hurt to invite some of our friends, would it?" Fuyuki replied.

And so, Meiru, Jasmine, Enzan, Dekao, Yaito, and, surprisingly enough, even Iris, along with all their navis. All of them, except Netto and Fuyuki, decided to go outside of the hotel and explore the other areas. Netto, on the other hand, went immidiately into the hot spring.

"Hey Fuyuki! Why don't you come in the hot spring?" Netto asked from in the water.

Fuyuki was sitting indian style on the floor by the hot spring, and still wearing all his clothes.

"I'm not big on hot springs, really." He said.

"Than why are you in here?" Netto asked.

"To make sure Samara doesn't come and kill you." He replied.

He looked over to his and Netto's PETs.

Wonder what Starman and Rockman are doing? He thought.

"Well, why aren't you with Dingo, than?" Netto interrupted his thoughts.

"Because Dingo's smart and doesn't require additional protection." Fuyuki replied.

"...That wasn't very nice." Netto said.

He breathed in and went under, leaving everything from his nose up above water. His eyes were closed in that happy way.

"Geez, give Netto a hot spring and he's ecstatic." Fuyuki said.

Netto suddenly realized the water was cold. He raised his head.

"Uh, Fuyuki? are hot springs supposed to normally turn icy cold?" Netto asked.

"Not that I know of." Netto's 15 year old brother replied.

The water suddenly turned a very dark, murky green.

"Uh, what's happening?" Netto asked worriedly.

"You better get out of there. I don't like the looks of that." Fuyuki replied.

Netto nodded, and startedto swim over to Fuyuki. However, a little bit of ways there, he suddenly couldn't move.

"Uh, I can't move..." Netto said.

At that moment, Samara burst out of the water, gripping Netto(Don't worry, Samara's still wearing clothes -CFS). Both boys were shocked as hell.

"Samara!" Fuyuki shouted.

"For the love of god, at least let me put on some clothes!!!" Netto said.

Fuykui put his hand in his face.

He's staring death in the face and all he can think about is the fact that he's naked in front of a dead girl. He thought.

Samara pulled Netto under, but not before the boy shouted "Fuyuki!"

Netto and Samara vanished underwater. Fuyuki looked down.

"SHIT!!!" He shouted.

"Dammit...how can I save him..." Fuyuki replied.

"I could dive in...but than I could die..." He shook his head.

"I have to take that risk..." He shouted, and dived into the dank water.

Chapter 05: Iris, The Uncursable

Fuyuki swam down through the dank water.

Man...I can't see anything with the water this murky... He thought.

He reached the bottom of the spring.

There! He thought, seeing Samara and Netto.

Netto was knocked out, with Samara's hands wrapped around his neck. And they were clasped tightly. Fuyuki body slammed Samara as hard as he could to get her away from Netto. She flew backwards into the water.

Crap...he's been under pretty long... Fuyuki thought as he grabbed his brother.

He swam towards the surface, slinging Netto over his shoulder. However, he felt something yank him back down. Samara was trying to pull him back under. She glared evilly at him.

"Let go!!!" He shouted as she yanked him down, but it sounded like "Et o!" In the water.

Fuyuki swam down fast, kicking Samara in the face, and making her release her grasp. He swam up and finally broke the surface, and after taking a huge gulp of air, dragged Netto onto land with him. He covered Netto's whole body except for his head with a towel to prevent hypothermia, and started to apply CPR. After awhile, the boy coughed up water and was breathing again.

"Thank god..." He said.

He heard something come out of the water. He turned to see Samara standing there, walking towards him.

Fuyuki turned around and said "Geez, woman! Why won't you die! You'll never impress any boys like that."

Samara merely warped in front of him and grasped him, trying to mind torture him again.

Fuyuki winced, but he said "Heh, the same trick won't kill me. Torture me, hell yes, but you can't kill me with your little mind games, Samara."

With that, he grabbed Samara, and ran forward at the same time. Both of them crashed into the murky, freezing spring.

If I go down, you go down with me... He thought.

Netto had woken up from his unconciousness just in time to see Fuyuki and Samara plunge into the spring.

"No!!!" He shouted in dismay.

After getting up, and than getting dressed, he went over to Rockman and Starman's PET.

Starman and Rockman were both playing battleship. Starman examined the game board carefully.

"A3!!!" He shouted.

"You sank my battleship!!!" Rockman said sadly.

Starman leapt up and shouted out "YES!!! And Starman wins 3/3 matches! The crowd goes wild! The cheerleaders rush over to Starman for instant smooches!!!"

"You really need to calm down..." Rockman said.

Netto's face appeared on the view screen.

"Rockman! Starman!" He shouted.

"Oh, hey Netto." Starman said.

"I thought you were in the hot springs?" Rockman said.

"I was...until Samara came and tried to kill me!!!" Netto replied.

"What?!?" Both Starman and Rockman shouted.

"Fuyuki rescued me...but now she's got him!" Netto said.

"DAMMIT!" Starman shouted.

"I'll go get everyone's navis!" Rockman replied.

Netto said "Okay. Starman, if Samara comes after you, don't try to fight her! Run away!"

Starman nodded. Netto got up to warn the others. After gathering up everyone, they all went to the hot spring. None of them could see anything through the murky waters.

"Dammit...who knows what she's doing to him?" Dingo said.

"I'll go into Full Synchro. Than I'll find out how he's feeling." Starman said, and did so.

Suddenly he clutched his neck and choked up cyber blood. Everyone gasped as he undid Full Synchro.

Starman wiped the blood from his face and said "She's...that bitch is choking him to death!!!"

Netto gasped as he remembered her choking him and knocking him out. He put his fingers to his neck and felt several wounds that felt like fingerprints burned into his skin.

"Netto...you haven't told us about why Fuyuki's dying...you just said that he was being killed." Dekao said.

"Yeah, could you tell us exactly what's going on?" Meiru asked.

Dingo and Netto looked at eachother.

"Alright, let's tell them." Dingo said.

Netto and Dingo explained the tape, the curse, and Samara. After they finished, Iris spoke up for the first time in awhile.

"I know how we could save him..." Iris said.

"How?" Dekao asked.

"If I plug into the Net, and shut down the hot spring emergency shut-down program, I might be able to drain it." Iris replied.

"Sounds good to me!" Meiru said.

"Alright. Iris, plug in!" Netto said.

Iris nodded and left the room.

Moments later, Netto's PET beeped. He picked it up and a videofeed from Iris was playing.

"I've found the hot spring shut-down program." She said.

"Alright, turn it off!"

Iris did so. She plugged out and re-entered the room in her Copyroid body. The waters drained down, and everyone gasped. Samara had an unconcious Fuyuki pinned to the ground, and was choking him. Fuyuki had a huge chunk of his neck skin missing, it appeared to have been bitten out.

"Oh my...that sick freak..." Tomahawkman said.

Samara turned to face them and warped right in front of all of them.

"Get away from me!" Dekao shouted, and tried to punch her.

Samara was quicker, and punched him very hard in the stomach, knocking the wind out of the boy. Meiru tried to run, but Samara warped in front of her and started to strangle her.

"Leave her alone!!!" Both Netto and Dingo shouted, and tried to tackle Samara.

However, the dead girl dropped Meiru, picked up Netto and Dingo by their heads, and tossed them into the wall. Samara turned to Iris.

"Iris, run!!!" Netto shouted.

Iris said nothing, nor did she do anything. Samara tried to do the mind torture to Iris, but, surprisingly enough, Iris didn't even flinch. She showed no signs of pain.

"I thought you were trying to kill me." Iris said.

Samara reached out to strangle her. Iris was faster, and did the same thing she did to Enzan: Pinch the pressure point of her neck hard. Samara roared in pain as Iris squeezed even harder. Eventually, Samara threw off Iris's grip. She vanished.

Netto and Dingo, the only one's not unconcious other than Iris, got up.

"Iris...how did you do that?" Netto asked.

"People such as Samara...I don't yield to them." Iris replied.

"Uh...what?" Dingo asked.

"Simply put, it's all in a state of mind. People are killed by her mind torture because they allow themselves to be afraid of her and her torture, thus leaving them open to her. I'm not afraid of someone who is living past their time." Iris replied.

She looked down into the drained hot spring.

"Netto...your brother seems to be injured badly." She said.

Netto gasped.

"I forgot about Fuyuki!" He jumped down into the drained spring and checked his brother.

Fuyuki had the same marks Netto had on his neck, as well as the huge bite mark that was bleeding crazily. He was bleeding from under his headband, so Netto undid it. He found another smaller bite mark, although he was unsure how it had gotten there. And Fuyuki's mouth had a small stream of blood pouring out of it.

"Dammit...he's in horrible shape..." Netto said.

"Someone call 911! He's on the verge of dying!" Netto shouted.

Everyone nodded, and left. Except for Iris. Netto looked down at his unconcious brother.

"Dammit...why does she want to kill us so badly?!?" Netto said, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Netto..." Iris said, placing her hand on his shoulder.

He turned to face her.

When did she come down here? He thought.

"Your brother will be okay. Don't cry." She said.

Netto smiled and nodded.

"Okay. Thanks, Iris."

Netto got up, holding Fuyuki in his arms. He and Iris, both carrying Fuyuki, left the room.

Chapter 06:Spiritual Return

Everyone still stayed at the YokaYoka Inn that night. Iris tended to
Fuyuki's wounds while everyone else (Except Netto) slept.

"How bad are
his wounds?" Netto asked.

"Not too bad. Remarkably, his burn marks have already heeled, and the bite mark on his forehead has healed as well. The only thing left is that bite on his neck, and that's somewhat healed already." Iris said.

Netto looked at his brother.

"Fuyuki...why is she so determined to kill you?" Netto asked.

"Because I survived her mind torture." Fuyuki said, waking up.

Netto smiled and hugged his brother.

"Woah, easy Netto! You'll open up my neck wound again!" Fuyuki said,
smiling as well.

He took the bandage off the wound.

"I don't think it's that bad, but still, thanks for treating them." He said to
Iris.

"Uh, I didn't really get your name..."

"Iris."

"Alright. Well, thanks Iris." Fuyuki said.

"Hey, Netto, I just realized I now have something I can blackmail you with."

Netto let go of his brother and had a confused look.

"What?" He asked.

"Simple: Samara saw you NAKED in the hot springs." Fuyuki said, grinning.

"Perfect blackmail material.

"Sh...shut up!!!" Netto said back.

Fuyuki was laughing silently right now as he thought of great blackmail oppurtunities, and even Iris let out a small chuckle.

"You too, Iris?!? Man, everyone's against me..." Netto said.

Than he remembered something.

"Well at least I didn't walk into the women's bathroom in Scilab when I was 5!!!" Netto said, now he was smiling.

Fuyuki instantly stopped laughing and said "You're not supposed to know about that!!! Who told you, dad?"

"No, Starman!" Netto said, now it was his turn to laugh.

Iris had a smile on her face.

"You two are so wierd." She said.

"Nah, just Netto." Fuyuki replied.

The three of them had one final laugh, said goodnight, and went to bed.

"Netto?" Fuyuki said, when he was sure even Iris was asleep.

"Yeah?" The younger boy replied.

"If something were to happen to me because of Samara...promise me you'll take good care of the whole family. And Rock...cause he's our brother too." Fuyuki replied.

Netto said "We don't have to worry about Rockman, or even anyone else. Because I know you won't die on us."

Fuyuki replied "There's always that possibility...well, goodnight."

Both of them went to sleep.

Starman, however, couldn't sleep. He was plugged into the internet, thinking deep.

"I wonder why Samara wants to kill us so bad..." He said aloud.

Than he said "I also wonder how deleted navis come back as ghosts on the internet...''

He jumped to the side to avoid a sword thrust.

"...don't you wonder the same thing, Dyscis?" Starman said, grinning.

Dyscis withdrew his blade arm back.

"It is indeed strange." He said, leaping at Starman.

He did several thrusts at Starman, which the golden navi proceeded to avoid.

"So...why are you trying to delete me?" Starman asked while dodging.

"I don't know...I just have a sudden urge to kill you..." Dyscis said, raising the swords and launching two sonic booms from them.

Starman blocked both with his hands. He grunted with pain as they dug into his palms for awhile.

"Double Demon Fang!!!" Dyscis shouted, launching two shockwaves at Starman.

Starman leaped to avoid them.

"I learned this one from Tomahawkman, but it's a little different now..." Starman said as he begun to somersault faster and faster in the air.

Energy formed around him.

"Rolling Meteor!!!"

Starman flew down and collided into Dyscis, sending them both flying into a wall. Both of them got up, but Dyscis had sustained lots of damage.

"Sword Rain!!!'' Dyscis shouted, and started to stab at Starman repeatedly.

Starman dodged most of the blows, and on the last two he gripped both Dyscis's sword arms.

"You seem to take so much pride in these blades of yours, Dyscis." Starman said.

He started to pull on the arms.

"So I might as well relieve you of them!!!" Starman said as he ripped the arms out of their sockets.

Dyscis screamed in agony.

"No more screwing around!" Starman said and opened his palm to face Dyscis.

A black void appeared around the armless navi.

"Crushing Hole!!!" Starman said, and closed his open hand into a fist.

The hole closed on Dyscis, crushing every fiber of his existance into nothingness.

WOW. That ending was positively gruesome. Both arms ripped out of their sockets...every fiber of his existence being crushed into nothingness? So dark...someone hold me :O

Goodness though, this was a nice chapter. Good job with the character developing Fuyuki and Iris, Starman's pondering session being rudely interrupted by the murderous intent of Dyscis was rather unexpected...and I must admit that when he suddenly came out to attack Starman I thought they were training. O_O Part of me is still recovering from the gruesome ending, but mostly I think you must certainly dontinue this great work.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. And don't worry YaminoMiko, I won't write anymore horrors for awhile after this one. Anyways, this chapter has what I call...plot twist.

Chapter 07:Pact With The Dead

A few days after the hot springs incident, everyone went back home. Fuyuki was on his computer relentlessly, trying to decipher the mysterious characters at the bottom of the summary of the tests at Scilab on Samara. He had descovered three words: Prevent, Copy, and Tape.

"Dammit...this is super hard to decipher..." Fuyuki muttered.

Starman said from his PET "Have you ran it through several languages?"

Fuyuki nodded.

"The only kinds of results I got were in American. And even then, it was in gibberish..." He said.

"Maybe you just needed to arrange the text." Starman replied.

Fuyuki was quiet.

Than he said "Starman, you may just be the smartest navi ever."

Starman grinned with pride.

"I know." He said.

A mettaur pickaxe flew out of nowhere and struck him in the back of the head.

Fuyuki started to arrange the text. He spent hours running it through spell checkers, word translators, and several other devices. At last, he finally had it finished.

"Starman, you are a freaking genius." Fuyuki said, reading the text.

"So true." Starman said.

And than to his side he shouted "PUT THOSE PICKAXES DOWN!!!"

Fuyuki read the text. Than his eyes widened.

"Oh, crap..." He said. He printed it out and went into Netto's room.

"Hey Netto...'' Fuyuki said.

Netto was reading a manga entitled BoBoBo-Bo-BoBoBo.

"Yeah?" He said, putting the book down.

"Take a look at this." He said, showing the paper to Netto.

Netto read it aloud.

"To prevent Samara's curse...you must must make a copy of the tape and show it to someone else. Your curse will be passed onto them."

He was shocked.

"So...to get rid of the curse..."

"We have to give it to someone else." Fuyuki said grimly.

"And by no means will I allow it." He added on.

"Yeah, there's gotta be another way." Netto said.

"It's pretty late. Let's go to sleep." Fuyuki said.

Both of the boys went to sleep.

Netto opened his eyes and saw himself in a white void. He knew right away he was in a dream.

"Why am I dreaming of this?"

Suddenly, the space where he was sitting became a field of dead grass. He looked up and saw several dead trees stretching out against a white sky. And, with horror, he saw a well in front of him. Two hands came up from the well.

"She can even attack me in my dreams?!?" Netto said.

Samara came out, but she didn't try to kill Netto. Instead, she held out her hand. In it was a small, folded note. Netto shakily and cautiously took the note. Samara crawled back into her well. Suddenly, Netto woke up. He looked in his hand and saw the note.

"It was real..." He said, opening the note.

His eyes widened when he read it.

It said I am willing to compromise. I will stop trying to kill all of you under one condition. One of you experiences how I felt. One of you must stay in that well for 7 days. I will be down there as well to make sure you stay for the full week. If you don't do this, I'll keep trying to kill you. If you do this, but don't stay for 7 days, I'll kill the person who tried to escape. If you do it for 7 days, I'll leave you alone. The choice is yours, but the only way you won't be killed is those 7 days...

The next morning, Netto called Dingo over. He showed Fuyuki and Dingo the note while their navis searched the Internet for any more appearances of Dyscis.

"So...one of us has to stay in that well." Dingo said.

"And she could easily kill one of us while we're down there." Netto said.

"And that's why I'm going." Fuyuki said.

Dingo and Netto looked at him like he had just suggested they mix chlorine and alcohol and shaking it.

"Are you freaking nuts?!?" Netto asked.

"No! I'm the strongest out of us three, and I can actually survive her mind attack!" Fuyuki said.

"Your brother does have a point, Netto." Dingo said.

Netto looked down. Fuyuki sensed his brother's discomfort.

He said "Netto, I'll be fine. If anything, instead of all three of us dying, it'll only be me."

Netto quickly squeezed his brother around the chest, burying his face in the older boy's shirt.

"If you die...I'll never forgive you..." He said.

Fuyuki seperated Netto's head from him. Netto looked up into Fuyuki's eyes.

"I won't die from some soaking dead girl." Fuyuki said.

The TV turned on and the well appeared. Netto let go and both he and Dingo stepped back as Samara came out and walked to the TV.

"Here's my ride." He said, walking to the TV.

Samara reached her hands out. Fuyuki grabbed her hands and both he and Samara vanished.

---Inside the well---

Fuyuki's head burst up from the murky waters and he took in a huge breath of air.

"Dammit...this water feels soooo disgusting." He said.

He could sit down in the water and his head would still be above it, and standing up the water was up to his chest. At the moment, he was sitting down.

Suddenly, Samara came out of the water. She only came up to her chest in the water.

"How do you live down here? I mean, isn't it boring?" Fuyuki asked.

Watch your mouth, boy. You're in my territory now. Samara's voice rang out in Fuyuki's head.

"So...mind telepathy, eh?" He said.

Samara responded with nothing. Fuyuki sighed.

"This week is gonna suck." He said.

I said shut up.

"You just said watch your mouth!"

Samara put her hand on his neck.

I could kill you right now if I wanted. You're lucky I'm even giving you a chance to live.

Fuyuki sighed again and said "Fine, be that way."

Samara sunk down into the murky waters up to her head.

Only 7 days...That's all I have to do is stay down here for 7 days... Fuyuki thought.

Sweet mother of...!!!! :O This is a freaking AMAZING plot twist!! I didn't even really think that it was going to be that easy!! Now I really want to know what happens for the next 6 days. And Samara's attitude reminds me of my aunt when she's pissed. 0_o Weird, huh? Brava, CFS!! :D
