I guess you don't read the sprite comic Bob and George. When Dr. Light activated X for the first time, nobody liked him because he was designed as an ice cream hating pacifist (everyone else is obsessed with ice cream and/or violence). He used some kind of built in system to try and force everyone to be friends with him, then went insane and almost killed everyone. It was amusing that when everyone's minds were held within his, they used the EXE sprites to represent the robot's minds.
