Good to know that Rockman still lives! You know this is his like 19th/20th anniversary in December. Whoa, time flys by fast. Anyway, I think "Project Rockman", as they call it, is a spin off of the X-series. It does take place somewhere in the future (100 years or so i think???) Netto is an Hikari. But to tell you the truth, I don't really like the way the main character look. Netto looks better. They better find a way to put Zero-kun and Blues-kun in there though!!!!!! It's all about Zero-kun and Blues-kun!^_^

now that I think about it, Netto can't live 100 years, (yea so he can pull a Dr. Light on just) but Rockman can! Being a computer program he can live forever! So he can be the one to guide this new character (who may be a desendant of Netto for all we know)!

They can always have those fancy hero stories, where like, Netto died, and then rockman turned into a depressed Navi and was never before seen again by the face of the world, just like Forte. And then either brought up as Hikari Angel said, a helper, or he could turn into like a legend and then into a major bad guy.

Just like what happened to X in the Zero series.

Ah, well as I really don't care about the how's and who's about the story, does this mean the gameplay of the BN games shall be passed on? You know, the battle chips and such? The main reason I liked BN was the fact there was multiple weapons to choose from. While I wouldn't mind this new one being like the X or Zero in gameplay, I would mind being limited to the regular buster and 8 master weapons like in the old days. And speaking of, what's the chances of the bosses being remakes of X's bosses like BN was to Rock's bosses? Even with ZX being in the same timeline, is there a chance this new series would go the same route?

im sorry, but i just don't like the idea at all, i mean, they're just tossing the old characters they grew on to you, and bringing in the new, and getting rid of lan and megaman, and saying its continuing the series? nuh-uh, i don't like this one bit, sure, they're continuing the series like i was hoping, but... i don't know, i just don't like it, its kinda like killing off your favorite character(s) and sticking their clothes on someone else and claiming its them... i am really disappointed, i don't mind if you guys like it, but i mean, getting rid of the cyberworld?! ughn... this is Rockman.exe, exe as in computer program... and they're just skipping 100 years in the future? at least give it a new name! i mean, sheesh, it looks cool and all, and i know there is at least someone out there who might agree with me... please do not be offended by my post, thank you.

No one's offended, but how do you think people felt about the other series? I'm pretty sure a few felt the same way when Robots could kill one humans, or when Rockman wasn't totally a robot anymore... or when he turned into a computer program? I think this is actually a step in the right direction, not because switching the perspective of Rockman has been done before, but it's better to throw out the old before it gets really stale. I personally think the series has been in downfall since Axess... refreshing the series with new characters seems like a good idea...

If it's any consolation kittara, a lot of us know how you feel in some way. :3 I remember back when EXE was first announced. I absolutely hated the idea that they'd turned our beloved Robot Masters into these.. Operating Systems for PDAs. I didn't like the concept of any of the characters too much either, especially the age. I remember thinking "Oh look, Capcom are releasing their own Pokémon spin off!" I didn't even play the games until the third one was released.

And I absolutely loved it when I did.

Like a lot of people have said, if a series runs too long it gets stale, and boring. It's better to leave it off as something you remember loving. You can always replay the games and rewatch the anime anyway. You never know, you may actually like the new characters if you give them a chance. :D

Back to the game, I'm also happy to see it continuing! It looks like it's going to be to EXE what the Zero series was to the X series. The character designs of the "friends" are going to have to grow on me a little more, though. XD I'm wondering if it's going to play anything like EXE as well. I mean, just because Team EXE are working on it, and it's an ARPG, doesn't mean they'd keep the whole battle chip theme. I'd be sorry to see that go though. Maybe it'll use some sort of.. image data system for party members, like with EXE5: Twin Leaders. I haven't seen EXE mentioned anywhere in the games title, either.. o.o

Synchro-kun is giving me ideas. Netto-kun as a major badguy? That would be me such a happy, happy fangirl! XD
