I think my biggest gripe has to be that although they do indeed get married, they never do fully expalin how Lan and Mayl get together, even though evidence was there since BN1.

Also, they never brought the back story of Network Transmission, in doing so, Zero never found himself in another BN game. I thought he was a wasted character.

I for one, a little sad that the series is finished, but if they do decide to do create another game (doubtful. BN6 pretty much put the series to bed) they have a 20 year window to use.

My main gripes were that Zero was never used again, they didn't have many new navis at all in 5 and 6, you only got to fight generic navis in 4(I'm probably the only person that liked fighting them, though), and Bass pretty much had nothing to do with the story after 3. I mean, I don't want him to be important in every game, but I do feel there was a lot of missed opportunities with him.

I actually enjoyed it too. After dozens of patterned bosses, fighting generic navis who use different chips and have varying patterns makes for a nice change of pace.

I was pretty satisfied with the ending to the series...though it could have been way better than the two cybeasts...they've already had a giant wolf thing(Gospel).
I also didn't like that all the boss navis in 6 were easy, and that many of the navis in 5/6 weren't that original or cool.
Bass should have a big role in the final game, since he's Megaman's ultimate enemy.
I did like the cutscene at the very end with Patch etc. But they should have sprited it and shown what the characters looked like.
I think the very end could have been better, all of Lan's friends should have been with him in the final showdown...instead of just him and Colonel and Iris.
Finally...Zero has had his own series, he was an awesome character in X series...but in this series he wasn't that cool and had a tiny role.

I was kind of disappointed that there were no actual images of the cast's grown up forms. That, and of course, the glaring obviousness of 20 years. As we've had almost constant terrorism for a few years, how would ANY form of defense be actually good enough to halt it? Not to mention how many of the original series navis weren't used. It would be really awkward to try to include the rest 100 years later in Ryuusei...

I wish BombMan from Battle Network 1, and FlameMan from Battle Network 3 could've made a comeback.

I was also bummed out when Zero wasn't in the BN series. (Although some cheatpage said you face him in BN3)

Well, Zero was in the BN series, namely the GameCube game Network Transmission.
Unless you mean not in a GBA BN game.

Besides the series coming to an end at 6 games?

- Netto & Meiru getting together
- Shun only making 2 short appearances
- The fact that the operators of the Cross Navis in EXE6 were all teachers
- Crash Man making his Navi debut
- Only 3 X series characters were used (Zero, Colonel, & Iris)

On the plus side, we at least got to see Saito.

Well, to be fair, they weren't teachers per se. They taught classes, yes, but you often hear of people who don't have teaching degrees that will teach specialty classes focusing on their particular skill or trade. Hey, it's a paycheck.

I actually prefered that they were almost all seperate scenarios set aside from the main quest. It certainly made alot more sense the method of aquiring Souls in BN5...

"Oh, we just fought a battle and learned almost nothing about each other aside from a few brief instances of understanding. But hey! Our souls are resonating! *Soul Unison aquired*"

Ok, it's not quite like that, but you understand my point, right?

Heh, that's hilarious Heatshadow.

I'm actually pretty sure you can beat Battle Network 6 with only Aqua/Heat Cross...

Speaking of which, was hinoken or shuko teachers there? What could they teach? How to make curry or how to be a cute non-annoying drama queen when you first show up? heh heh

No... XD

Shuuko's class was about virus busting with Aqua Power....And Hinoken's class was about Virus busting by being hot...or rather using Heat Power...

Wow, they really had some original classes >_> XD

That makes sense. I'd attend those classes. Only because they must be interesting. (Plus to find out how old the respective characters are.)

I found it annoying that in BN 5, you have to complete virtually every aspect of the game to reach chaoslord bass. I got through the last liberation mission thinking Bass emblem here I come!, then finding out that you had to own every navi in the game before going any further. And to top it off, capcom say "If you get the bass emblem and insert it into the GBA slot in your ds version of bn5, you get basscross"

I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED basscross, very badly. I find it annoying that capcom are saying "Come on, have basscross, Oh, I forgot, your so crap that you haven't beaten the game yet! oh well"

Why capcom, WHY? :grr:

Is Bass in the Nebula Area in BN5, 'cause I've gone to that one place with those soul fire demon things. I've beaten everything and still haven't found Bass (although, I borrowed my Game and GameShark to a friend, and he typed in some code that got me Bass cross, but my game screwed up on me so I had to start from the beginning). I've looked EVERYWHERE and haven't found him. Where exactly is he?

You have to beat the dark version of the navis in 2:00.01 to 3:00.00 to get bass.

ah, i forgot about crashman, good call AMZ. another thing i noticed that turned me down, was the fact that after BN 3 the games started losing the heart put into them. they became to linear for my taste (did i use that word right?).

Well...

I wouldn't so much agree that the games became less linear. From the outset to the end of the series, EXE was quite linear with its storyline, with the exception of EXE4, of course. The rest of the games presented the player with a storyline that did not branch, or when it did, branched rather insignificantly. As opposed to other RPGs, EXE remained on the straight and narrow.

Yes, there are definitely elements of non-linearity in the series, most notably in the latter three games of the series, and I suppose your point has merit in those games, but in general, I'm not too sure that the games have become less linear--they seemed to stay mostly the same.
