I bought this. I must say they've balanced the difficulty perfectly by making it somewhat easy to get enough stars for the final area, but if you want all 120, I don't think it's a coincidence that Nintendo gave away the Wiimote jackets before releasing this.
And I love the level design. On 64 I couldn't be bothered to get all the stars and I don't even bother with Sunshine without an AR, but on this one, I've gotten all 120 and now I'm playing through the bonus you unlock for that. It's so rare a game motivates me like that.
My only real complaints are about the power ups. First of all, they only appear for the stars that require them. I think it would've been more interesting to have at least two to choose from for each level. That way they don't get overlooked. Second is when you get the red star. It seems amazing at first, but then you realize you can only use it in the hub! What a rip off. Third is the fire flower being timed. I think they should've just made it disappear after a hit. It's useful a couple for dealing with enemies, but it wears off so fast you don't get to do much. _________________ Red Green's words of wisdom:

Robin, mark your spoilers. >_>
And ShadowBass, timed items is a fair add. Adds a little speedrun effect to some areas (i.e. freezeflame galaxy). Stages feature more than one powerup more than a few times, too.
But yes. The red star was a bit of a disappointment. It's possibly the best Mario powerup ever seen into the series, and I would've loved being able to obtain it in every other stage. Even not for a mission (that would've rocked INCREDIBLY HARD though), just to fool around flying in freedom through the planets. Imagine flying freely through the Gusty Garden Galaxy or Battlerock Galaxy... *_* _________________ SPOILER:

Anyone else pissed that the multiplayer was so lame? I was playing it at my friend's house, and I'd always end up messing up his jumps because of trying to paralyze the enemies. _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.
