Fighting war to stop war just leads to more war! Why couldn't they see that? I wish Kira was in this show, he could've stopped the endless cycle of violence. |

...?
Well, either way, I watched this, and liked it, although I felt the second season was weaker than the first, as it pretty much did away with the first season's moral ambiguity and the battles weren't as interesting once the 00-Raiser came into play.
Still, there were a lot of funny moments; like when the show itself poked fun at Tieria's gender, Patrick trashing his mobile suits in increasingly spectacular was and surviving without a scratch, that ridiculous army of Divine Nova and Bring Stability clones, naming a mobile suit the Gaga, and thinking to myself that the amount of fanart must've gone through the roof after episode 22.
The final fight between the Reborn/0 and the 00-Raiser/Exia was great, and a nice throwback to the older Gundam shows. I'm interested to see what the movie will bring, and what that light shining from within Jupiter was in the hook. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

I loved Gundam 00 when I first saw it. Howerver I feel a little bit sad that there will be no S3 and come up with a movie that we need to wait one year before we can see it.

@SR and Cloud-kun: I'd criticize you guys for spamming the thread if not for the fact that the almost perfect hourglass-shaped quote you two managed to put together was, well...rather impressive, actually.
To stay on topic, I find that the "start a war to end all wars" philosophy is used a lot in Gundam; the characters seem to think that by creating one war that is so devastating it horrifies everyone, you can keep them from desiring any other conflict. Of course, the only problem with this is that's the kind of disciplinary measure parents use on young children...and it tends to stop working around their teenage years. It's a short-term philosophy at best, and it's effects will last maybe a decade before people start warming back up to the idea of killing each other again, if that long. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Yeah, they played with that in the first season where the various countries tried to exploit Celestial Being's armed interventions to their benefit. But honestly, that's heavily idealized. War has existed since the start of human history, and it's not going to go away anytime soon. It's just human nature. I did like how the characters were constantly aware of the irony, however.
'Course, part of the plan involved First Contact with aliens and jump-starting evolution through the GN Particles to create a race suitable for living in space. Who knows how that was intended to factor in.
Man, I really hope the movie addresses the murkier elements of 00s plot. I wanted to know what the deal was with the Surveyors, but they only appeared once to provide recap and then were all killed off by Ali in between seasons. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Umm, I think it was episode 16 of the first season. Alejandro was meeting with them about whether or not the Trinitys should be considered part of Celestial Being.
They never appeared again, and apparently background material has it that Ribbons had Ali kill them all in between season 1 and season 2. Since it's implied that they were all organizers of Celestial Being, I really hope that they get some explanation in the movie. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'
