Actually, if my info resources are correct, when Rockman destroyed Gospel, he was shattered and his fragments were spread throughout the network. One must;ve landed there, and Forte found it, so...

More like it found him. Really, I always got the impression that Forte was trapped inside Proto until Gospel (or the fragment of him, however you want to look at it) came and rescued him.

Hmm. Didn't Gospel regenerate with bugfrags spread throughout the net after his initial destruction?

Gospel was made up of Bug Frags, which we have seen are plentiful on the net. So I doubt it's such that Gospel was a specific combination or amalgamation of these fragments. I think it more likely that when Bug Frags interact with Forte's data or data based on Forte they assume a form similar to that of Gospel.

At any rate it's not actually said out loud that Gospel regenerates Forte, yes we hear the sound of his roar, and Forte says "Have you come to save me?". However we don't actually see evidence of Gospel so it could have been anything that sounded like Gospel...

Gospel attacks only occured in the Manga as far as I am aware. I fought Forte GS like everyone else and didn't see any sign of Gospel anywhere. Off course I may have gotten lucky and missed an attack, but still.

Yes, I know that in all probability it IS Gospel and I personally believe it is. I was, however merely stating it isn't proven.

Well, he did a lot of Air Burst and Earthbreaker, but that was it really. Why, is that odd?

He had a few other attacks too:

- Gospel Cannon (Where A gospel head comes out from Gospel's chest and fires in Flameman's Fire Breath attack pattern for fire elemental damage)
- Gospel's Claw (Two piercing claws shoot out from the sky)
- Banish World (Does when low on HP: Bass opens his chest and a HUGE laser comes out of his chest and pwns your area.)

That is VERY odd. -_-;

Well, I'm thinking that the EXE verse takes into account the optionals as well when they carry them over to other games... They make it seem as if these had existed ever since who-knows-when, but it's just that Netto & Rockman never knew about it on one game because they also didn't in the previous games... They can't make sure that all who played EXE go for the optionals, that's why they make it seem like it's the first time Netto & Rockman meet this ex-optional when they make him/her/it into a part of the regular plot.

Take MetalMan: He's just an optional Navi in EXE3, yet he became a part of the regular plot in EXE4. It's in EXE4 where Capcom makes it official that Netto & Rockman meet MetalMan and Tamako for the first time. Same goes for ToadMan-Kero, though I'm not that sure about Salama-WoodMan and Raoul-ThunderMan...

As for NapalmMan, I'd say that he's existed since EXE2. It's just that he never made an appearance to Netto & Rockman to make it part of the regular plot. When the WWW server was gone for good at the end of EXE3, NapalmMan somehow found his way in Nenji's care...

These're just my hunches...

Kymera, your idea is sound but still doesn't change the issue of Plotholes.

And yes, they did remember Raoul and Thunderman in EXE 4 RS.

For the Bass thing , remember when Wily said he made a copy of Bass using Gospel . I think thats why Bass is back .

Maybe.. just maybe... everything will become clear in EXE6... Some might have already been explained in Transmission and Phantom of Network - I've never played them myself, though...

1. Turn out to be another shoddy plot-hole,
2. Be resolved one way or another in EXE6, like KymeraDS said,
