I've never seen the anime, but I have read the Manga in Shonen Jump. I really love it, and I'm up to the Chunin Exams part. I'm not dropping any spoilers.

I can't really say I like Naruot. I loathe the archtypes represented by Naruto and Sasuke, though I find Naruto more tolerable than others. Sasuke, on the other hand, has no redeeming qualities I could spot. And the fights, well, I just don't feel any intensity when the characters rely on their special attacks rather than skill. Special moves and get real old real fast when used so much.

Heh I LOVE the Naruto series. I've read up to the current chapter release and have seen the anime up to the current episode. Of course I won't spoil anything for those only reading the VIZ version.
Anyways it's joined One Piece and Bleach in my top three favorites
1. One Piece
2. Naruto
3. Bleach
Heh and the runner up is Shaman King XD
Anyways Naruto is a great series and worth reading. I swear Kishimoto is as much a storytelling genius as Oda is. |

I'll bet that at least 90% of Naruto fans were extermeley disappointed when Naruto got licensed (myself included)... I really enjoy the series, though I don't think it's ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING, but I ain't saying it's horrible either.
I just hate it whenever the show ends so abruptly when the plotline rolls into it's climax (ex.: Vs Zabuza & Haku plot and the Chuunin Exams plot) T_T ... Of course, I downloaded the episodes in those huge 1-2 GB bittorrents, so I could just simply skip to the next episode.
I'm currently around episode 100, give or take several episodes. I wonder where everyone else is at?

To those who don't know what Naruto is, well, it's a bit hard for me to describe things, but I'll try to keep things simply. Naruto revolves around a world in which ninjas still exist. They're trained in hidden villages within several rival countries. There are 5 major countries, each one aligned to a certain element: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth and Lighting. In the Country of Fire, more precisley the Hidden Village of Konoha/Leaf, Naruto is struggling just to become a ninja. He dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of the Country and one of the strongest ninjas around. The anime baisically leads us through all his adventures and such as he tries to prove himself to those around him.
I'm DEFINITLEY sure I missed important points there... :/

That's actually wrong 
While it is very popular in Japan, it generally ranks about 7th to 10th IIRC.
Don't remember the general ratings too well, but I know that the first three are usually some Japanese show about a little girl, Doraemon and then One Piece and Konjiki no Gash Bell (Zatch Bell in the dub) usually ranks around 6th.
As I said though, it's still very close to the most popular spot, especially when you consider just how many anime shows are airing right now and it's still quite good IMO. |

I'm around 120 something. >_< Lost track... A lot of people I know still watches it even though it's liscened, even me! :D

Has anyone watched episode 109 or somewhere around there? It's so funny! Naruto tried to hit Kakashi with a tea pot and it was shown in slow motion, except that Kakashi quickly pulled up the table they were at as a defense!

I know that Naruto is popularly hated from what I gathered from one guy at Otakon when I was in elevator with Izu and few others. The following conversation was like thus...
Guy: "Naruto! BLAH!!!" *fake barfing sounds directed at Core*
Core: ^o.o^()
Guy: "Naruto sucks!" *barfing sounds again*
Core: v._.v() *shrinks away*
Izu: " . . . He's dressed as Netto from Rockman.EXE."
Guy: .__.() " . . . Oh, well Naruto still sucks." |

That was one of my favorite episodes! (#101 - just watched it for the 5th time =\ ) Kakashi is probably one of my favorite characters. He's powerful, but he's not too full of himself. I dislike characters with that kind of attitude.
I can never forget that moment when he started "fidgeting" in front of that bookstore which sells those "adult" novels . I'm thinking of making a GIF of that for a sig or an avatar sometime later...
The onsen scene was also hilarious! [Kakashi] "Huh? Is something wrong? I duck as I say that... *ducks an avoids a poison needle" I think the subbed translation differs depending on the fansub group though.
Kakashi is just awesome. Great character for action scenes as well as comedy relief... Though I really wonder how he looks like without that mask... Heck, even as a kid he had that mask on! Was he born with it or something? =S

In my opinion, Naruto is just O.K. I can't really say that it's good and I can't really say it's bad either. I still keep up with the storyline in both the anime and the manga, but it actually has gotten boring to me. And because it's so popular, Naruto forums are generally crowded and full of people who can't use proper English. I've also heard that the animation isn't that great at all, and that sometimes the characters' movements can be choppy. It takes a good eye to see that, though.
The music's quite good though. :) |

| I don´t know it´s the MOST but it´s true that is very popular. The series is very good and knows how to keep the attention thanks to the combination of ninjas + cool battles + good music + funny moments. The series has a bit of all and that is something that I like, and has one of the best characters seen in an anime: Kakashi-sensei. |

I wish I could see Naruto but I liked since I played the game, then i search about the anime and i liked the plot, the music is cool and Sasuke is my favorite one.
