Cross...but not Fusion

Does it bug anyone the way they do Cross Fusion? Their not really Fusing so much as gaining the power of a net Navi...the net navi does enter their body but has little to no control over it.

I guess you could say its like cosplay with a little extra kick. Not that I dont like this way of CF at all.

This is opposed to DNA Digivolution incase you were wondering.

It's called cross fusion because it sounds cool, and if it sells, do it, it's the philosophy of crappy anime shows.

Wow, who knew the Japanese could misuse an English word. That's certainly never happened before.

No use arguing over semantics at this point. Cross Fusion may be neither Cross nor Fusion, but that's what it's called.

I think it gives the net ops more purpose. Before all they did was send chips, but now they have a larger purpose. You may hate me for that comment. But perhaps it would have been better if they had done something like spirit unity from shaman king where they talk and fight as though they are one being, with the small exception of it being mega's body rather than Lan's or a fused one.

I don't really think the name is misleading at all, I mean, Rockman and Netto fuse into one, and we end up with a cross between both of them... Cross Fusion.

Nah, you should have actually gone with semantics then, because people have been complaining about how CF just turns a navi into a fancy costume for ages. It's a really old topic.

Rock and Netto can talk to each other while in Cross Fusion you know. They can all talk to their navis while in Cross Fusion, is that what you mean?

I think he means more along the lines of how the manga treats FullSynchro... for that moment, Netto and Rockman become the same person. Netto's consciousness merges with Rockman's in the cyber world and the two become the same person... literally. If Rockman gets hurt, Netto does too. With Cross Fusion, it's more along the lines of Netto turns into Rockman, but they don't become the same person... Rockman still chills in the PET and stuff. Netto is simply given Rockman's powers.

Where is Rockman exactly during Cross Fusion? I thought he was just, with Netto physically and mentally, but not being one with him, more like, helping him. I know he isn't inside the PET when Cross Fusion happens, because there is no PET, and in episode 3 of Axess, he's transmitted somewhere right before it starts. I just assumed that he is somehow within Netto during it, not exactly being the same person, but helping him by giving Netto his strength, and his knowledge about how to use battle chips and whatnot, while Netto himself controls the way they fight, like where to move to, and what chips to use.

Yes, Rockman is still in the PET, and the PET does still exist during Cross Fusion. The PET becomes the crest on Netto's chest, and if the crest is broken, the PET is damaged.

In Tamers, their bodies merged, but their consciousnesses were separated, though they acted as one most of the time. There are instances where only the kid or only the digimon would speak.

In Frontier, the kids became the digimon. No other consciousnesses but their own, except maybe they get the instincts of the digimon (which is why it was hard to control the beast spirits).

I believe Crossfusion is something like in Tamers, though Rock has no control of the body. He provides knowledge instead, as someone said. He and Netto have separate consciousnesses.

That's only my opinion, though.
