Sad :/ Sad :/ Sad :/ (possible spoilers, can't be too careful) I cannot believe (actually in some small way I can) that Kids WB ( or Shopro, whichever one is in charge of making the episodes) showed the very-edited out scene of when Shadowman got the stuffing shot out of him. Its like I blinked and missed the whole battle scene. If this is how the episodes are going to be shown, imagine what they won't show when the series gets darker and more violent. I going to have to stick to the Japanesse episodes and WPP's subtitled version. If you want to vent out or share some of your Megaman frustration. I'll be angry for awhile so feel free to pm me and show we can vent the frustration together. Okay sorry, venting my anger takes lots of time. Thanks.

Is this dub bashing, methinks? And there seems to be no need for a topic like this.

Why does everyone get so upset about shopro editing a part out of an episode?
I would understand if they cut half the episode out but a few things here and there isn’t gonna hurt anything.
What if you would have never found the Rockman subs you wouldn’t know the difference so why gripe about it its not going to change how they make the show, and If you need a VENT go find a hobby but griping abut a episode of a cartoon isn’t going to do anything but take up Space on the forums that could be used elsewhere.

I've know that they would edit it out like what ever it is. It was one of the most gruesome deletion seen's ever. did you really exspect a show aim at 8-10year olds with a horrible deletion scene. the soccer mom's would never allow it

Yeah. They'd hop in thier SUVs and charge ShoPro's headquaters. But they'd be home in time for a wholesome family dinner, of course. ;D

I think you're overreacting. You're acting as if they changed SearchMan's name to CandyShooterMan, edited out his deletion-spree, and then made ShadowMan escape alive. (Which they could have done, but instead they kept it in.) So there were a lot of things NOT cut out.

In my opinion, this was actually a very decently dubbed episode. So they cut out the actual impact, big deal, its not like we don't know that it hit him.

Why isn't this in the Axess discussion thread? That's where it should have gone in the first place.

*that first post is dub bashing*
Anywho, I wasn't that all happy about the episode either but I guess they did an okay job. I mean why edit all that stuff? They're just computer people anyway, its not like they have blood. I just kinda think its emberrassing <-*spelling?* to say to people that you watch megaman (especialy if you're a teen) but they edit the show like its for sensitive baby eyes. Oh well, It COULD have been worse. LOL. I'm still scared to see episode 51. :O

*OMG I think I just dub bashed in there somewhere* (sry)

Oookay, let's sit down, take in deep breaths and TRY to have some common sense. How old are you? 14? 15? 24?

Okay now, sit down and think that maaaaaybe... this show when bought wasn't aimed to people of your age but perhaps people a few years younger then you? People that depending on their backgrounds and how they've been educated might see something such as Shadowman's deletion as something disturbing and wrong?.

Now think for a moment that these people aren't working to appeal teenagers that have the means to see the original episodes and understand their reasoning to do X or Z things. Net Navis in the show are treated as if they were real people in many cases, they're not shooting a mindless drone, but a creature that reacts to painful experiences even if it's a computer program. That alone is enough to be weary of showing it in public TV to a public that might not be educated enough to understand some things, and more so to a generation of parents that will find themselves offended by it -or are too lazy to explain their kids the difference between reality and fiction.

When that happens a company has to butcher down things and tone them down in order to please the potential profit sources of airing the show. The have to please the parents of the 10 years old that'll beg their mommies and daddies to buy them Megaman and his friends to play with them. Not to appeal the older viewers that'll want the toys dor 'collection/display' uses.

All in all, the show is aimed to be 'acceptable' for the parents, to ensure profits from the franchise in the form of merchandise and the likes.

Secondly I remind you all that there's to be no Dub Bashing in this forum, and to keep the Dub axess discussion into its respective topic.

Wish they'd aim it for a more mature age group. Then there'd be no need for slashing parts of episodes.

If I recall correctly, it is Y7, i.e., it is aimed at seven-year olds and higher. Sigh. Stupid soccer moms.

The japanese and the American public are a bit different even if they share the same age.

EXE has always been rated for 'kids' on Japan. Not exactly sure of it's official rate but I know it's usually aimed from about 10 to 14-15 years old like DBZ. In US has been aimed for probably 7-13 years old public.

Usually in the western countries there's the idiology of thinking'if it's animated is for kids'. It also has to do with money issues. Let's be realistic a 14-15 years old boy doesn't have the same 'resources' of a younger child that holds better chances of nagging their parents into buying them toys then a teenager that has a harder time being able to afford these items.

It has many factors into it, but being 'profitable' is one of the most important when it comes down to decide what's gonna be aired on public TV.

I gave up on anime shown here a while ago. I stick to downloads from WPP.

Shows on public TV must meet certain guidelines in respect to its content. It's even more strict for shows aimed at children. Japan's guidelines are far more lax (which is why Netto is also a little potty mouth).

I'm happy they at least showed Episode 12. Besides the edits, the dialouge was very accurate. No more dub bashing please.
