Grandia

I've already played and beaten Grandia 2 for the PS2, and just bought Grandia Extreme for the PS2. The 2nd one was great, with a very unique battle system and a deep story line. Basicly there was a war between good and evil centuries ago in which 2 gods fought and was kinda ended in a tie. Now the evil is trying to revive. But it gets much more complecated than that.

The Grandia series all apparently have the same kind of battle system in which you have a gauge that shows your characters and the enemies (besides the normal 3D characters on the screen so). Once one of the characters reach the action part of the gauge, you can decide to attack or use magic like normal RPG's and then you wait till the character's icon goes to the end of the gauge which it the attack part. Sounds long, but with some increase to speed it's rather quick. Also, once your character can attack they will run to the enemy to attack. So if your characters have high run states, they'll attack and move out of the way before the enemy can land a hit; or maybe they'll be able to attack right before the enemy can attack and stop the enemy from attacking altogether.

I'm still thinking about getting Grandia 1 for the PS1. Anyone else play any of the Grandia games? What are your thoughts of the game?

I liked Grandia 2 a lot. Ther story, the moves, how your characters can level up and get new abilities. "DEMON HOARD SLASH!" and "SKY DRAGON SLASH!"

Never played XTreme though. And about Grandia 1, I recommend buying it. Because it was a good RPG at the time.

I might make a doujinshi about Grandia 2. Why? Because I loved that RPG. T_T I want to continue the story and stuff. Who knows if it might be a good idea or not. It's just what I want to do. -_-;

Hi there. I give this thread life because I need help in gradia 1. I was wondering if Rapp and Liete had any magic elements when you got them into your party. Like how Freena had fire. The reason i'm asking is because I want to know what I should save my mana eggs for.
