That was to prevent the influx of spamming posts. It is a waste of space, in general. I think that that may have been taking it a bit too extreme, but that's me.

Indeed it is.

Now that the forum is locked down, so to speak, is there any use for it anymore? I mean, people can just jump right in any of the other threads and introduce themselves that way. The only use I can possibly see is for the rare "leaving temporarily" thread, but to keep an entire forum open for that seems....wasteful.

Nah, it just means the people making an introduction should, y'know, maybe... do just that. Too many people join and make a new thread with nothing more than "Yo, I'm new and I like Megaman lolz!"

Since there is no longer an option of replies, hopefully people will be more inclined to say something about themselves right off the bat, since people won't be able to ask. :P
