This is a tribute to Laika fans (especially fangirls) everywhere. Everyone's favorite Sharo sniper elite, as you'd expect to run into him walking down the street in reality. I chose a more generic pose for him, staring off to one side, showing the full accent of his face.

The lines of his face were a pain to get right, especially without the freedom of drawing a rough dry outline, as I would have for an ink drawing. The lighting had to be redone several times, because I'm difficult to satisfy. Overall, though, I'm very satisfied with the way it turned out and will probably be doing more of this later on. So, what do you think?

Holy-. How Long did this take. Although at the angle it sort of looks like his right cheek is a little swollen, It- Well let me put it this way. Your gonna need a club to beat off the fangirls

Not bad at all, I'd say. God knows I can't draw real people. <<;; However, something about his forhead is a bit...stretchy. Or so it appears over here, but the upper half of his head seems too tall. Also, his right cheek protrudes a bit more than one usually does, giving it a somewhat bloated look. You might want to consider slanting it more towards the mouth.

And there's still something about his left eye I can't quite make out, but it seems its shape is in the wrong direction...or something. <_<;; Normally, eyes taper off towards the outside of the face in 3/4 view, but Laika's left one is the shape it would be in front view. That's also another gripe-it is kind of hard to tell whether this picture is in 3/4 or front view. ^^;; Also, the hat is overlarge, but when one's allowing for real life physics that can't be helped. XD

But like I said, pretty darn good. ^^

EDIT: I'm a fangirl and I'm not exactly tackling him, am I? >_>;

Indeed Elementalman, his right cheek DOES appear to be a tad larger. Also, Nazne, now that I look at it, the hat is pretty large, but if it was any smaller I don't think it would have looked right. I was going for realistic proportions as opposed to the standard anime look, so I probably (and perhaps understandably) mutilated a few things. But yes, his head DOES seem a little tall, and his eyes are perhaps a little out of alignment...then again, I drew this pretty late at night too, although that's probably not a valid excuse... -.-

I appreciate your constructive input and will keep it in mind the next time I draw realism.

You're right about the hat. XD Certain anime things do defy gravity and other laws of physics. The...er, dot on it looks a bit too big though, O.o

Hell, I can't draw that at any time of day. Consider it a good job. XD

Yeah, moocowbob, I see what you mean. I originally meant to make it look as though he had lashes on both his upper and lower eyelids. The shading technique I used to offset the eyes from the rest of his face didn't make that clear, I suppose. WAY too much eyeliner. And N20-Night, I see the things that are out of proportion now...a few blotches here and there too, but oh well, live and learn, right? Glad you still think this is a good pic.

Forgive the double post, but this is a completely different topic. That said...HECK YEAH!! My Realistic Laika picture got its first ImageShack rating...ONE OUT OF TEN! Oh yeah, baby! I always believed I was pretty good...but never THAT good! (Waves hand across scalp like a supah-stud.) Ah well. This one will probably make up for it.

DRAWN WITH: No. 2 HB pencil. Definitely slightly easier to work with than mechanical.

It's Forte this time, and he's either sporting the most evil grin or the most intense Playstation face I've ever drawn. I had no models whatsoever to use for any part of Forte's face or outfit, so I only relied on the screencaps that Ryouko generously put up on REO for his design. I started out drawing a random pair of eyes, hoping to get inspired to make it look like SOME character by the time the face came together. By the time it did, I noticed Forte looks strangely like my dad, who says it looks like Batman as a Ferengi. Ah well, what's done is done, and I don't care. I'm actually pretty proud of this one. :D

UPDATE: AWESOME!! I simply don't believe it. Within half an hour of posting, it got its first solid rating...FOUR OUT OF TEN!! That's worth four days of celebration, so get out the party food and be sure to eat your share, because I'm taking no prisoners!

Oh dear. Seems I've created a controversy. I am sorry to have scared everyone. Overall, though, this was my first Forte pic, and I just figured that's how he is. No wonder I got that aforementioned recognition-worthy four out of ten rating. But in a tribute to my skill...I'll always have that initial ONE OUT OF TEN rating on Laika's portrait...and no one can ever take that absolute honor away from me!

You have a very realistic style .... I think tha forte picture is scary enough to give me nightmares in my daydreams which is saying alot! Very detailed... and very ...umm... It depicts his ... umm.. insanity.... I like the quality of shading you give into your pictures... I think this picture will give me fears like what forte wants. I think that that would be neat if you drew more in that realistic style to see how everyone would look like non anime style. I can't wait to see more... *shudders..* that pictures sends shuvers down my back, it's soo well done...

Forte "relieving himself," HeatShadow? ROFL, although I do not believe Net Navis engage in such endeavors. And yes, it is loony, but as Anime21 puts it, that's what he wants. And if they do go to the little Navis' room, he seems less "relieved," and looks angry because he TRIED to take what he thought was self-relief, but only ended up farting.

AND PUT DOWN THOSE BRICKS!!

And to prove I can draw girls as well, I'm working on a Slur picture. Having trouble with her lower body because it's so tight-fitting. Innovative strategic placement is a must with this girl. I think I may be banned from ImageShack for posting an anatomically correct Slur, but heck. I'm a rebel, so I'll prolly post it anyways. -__-
