Ok, this is the place to discuss and announce new information regarding the Nintendo Revolution, the PlayStation3 and the Xbox360.
Moving on then...
I just saw the Xbox360 thing on MTV last night and, well, I'm amazed. And from what I've been reading in mags, this could be the consle to get. Honestly, these next-gen games are truly insane, in terms of graphics and sound. Wireless controllers? Free XboxLive? Count me in! I was impressed by that new Perfect Dark game, as it looks like it is indeed the Halo killer. I can't wait for this. As for the PS3, it's supposedly 3 times as fast and graphically capable. If that's true, I'm not jumping ship. As for the Revolution, it really looks like Nintendo is making some serious moves, and by god, they are smart indeed. So far, what we know about the Revolution is that it will have backwards compatabillity, wireless controlers, Wi-Fi, be able to play DVDs, and best of all, Online play! Something tells me that this year's E3 is going to own ass.
So, what do you guys think? _________________

I wish there was more info on the Revolution. Oh well. It'll certainly be the system I'm getting, I like Nintendo. They keep talking about innovation... wonder what it'll be. I heard a rumor that it won't need to connect to a TV to use... and that it's gonna have WiFi stuff. And I also read in an interview that the Revolution will have either connectivity with DS or GB Whatever. Can't remember which... >_<
Xbox 2/360 (is 360 now its official name?) and PS3 sound cool, I guess, but like I said, I'll be buying the Revolution.
Um, yeah. That's all. |

I really hope Xbox goes out of it's sports games slump. I mean that's all they sell. And they've been sadly clinging onto there only working titles (Like halo and other crap) It's the intellevision all over again (they had better graphics but all they had was sports games... and then they had to come out with the intellevision 2)
Anyhoo nintendo has yet to come out with the vidrety of games that the playstation has gotten out with. Let's put it this way
Nintendo good only at handheld games
Playstation good only at platform games
And while the Xbox may have it's online SERVICE for free they could still charge for playing the games online (Kinda like FFXI)
Also wireless controlers eat up battryes people |

Well I do know that the 2 consoles that I have the most interested right now and likely be buying when it comes out are Sony's PS3 and Nintendo's Revolution. When Nintendo confirmed today that the Revolution will be backwards compatible with GameCube games, have a dual-layer DVD drive, and have wireless internet is all the more reasons for me to be excited over it.
Sony hasn't announced a lot of news on the PS3 yet besides that it might come out the same time as the Xbox 360. I'll wait until Sony announced some more information at E3.
As for the Xbox 360, I not really interested by it yet. I just saw some screenshots for Perfect Dark Zero and they don't look that impressive to me even though I love Perfect Dark on the N64. The game looks good for an Xbox game but for an Xbox 360 game? Not really. |

Um, I hope you do realize that the free X-Box live (silver member) only allows for downloads, chat, updates, and a few other things. Gold membership does require payment and you'll need it for actual online multiplayer.
Also, the shown footage of the three console's graphics capabilities was rather disappointing. It is far from what it's claimed to be. The only reason why it appears the way we see it is because the quality of the footage as compared to when we actually play it on your TV. Well, that's rather obvious but oh well. You can't really go much farther than what we have in terms of graphics as of today.
Revolution seems nice. It acts as a Wifi Base and can either use wireless (like the GCN's Wavebird) or you can use the DS as a wireless controller for certain games. Plus, they finally stuck online in which has been sought after for a while.

I wouldn't put it like that exactly. I think you're generalizing way too much. While Nintendo does lack a lot of third party support for the Gamecube, it still has some great hits like Resident's Evil 4, the Metroid Prime games, and the awaited Legend of Zelda 2k5 game.
Think about it this way: Nintendo has become the gaming world's equivilent of Apple. People don't like the Macs as much as others but the iPod has VERY high popularity. The same goes with the GCN and GBA in respect. _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

Ok here's my main problem with these companys. They say that they have good games out (Like Zelda and Halo) But what about after I beat all these so called " Uber great games" Then what I ask you??? I don't seem to have that problem with the Playstation. I have like... over 18+ games and there's still great titles that I wanna play that are out there. There's like a never ending supply. So while X-box and game cube may have a few good games.... I find there list of good games rather short. I mean come on people games can only last for so long |

That's all based on opinion...I personally find that I can name a lot of Gamecube titles that highly appeal to me. And I can expect the same from the Revolution. _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

There was a couple of articles on the X-Box 360 games being made by the group "Mistwalker" as well.
They're a group that broke off from Square or something, and these games actually look really, really good and it looks like they're putting quite a lot of effort in to them (they have a very impressive list of people working on both games).
At least IMO, if they end up being at least close to as good as they potentially could be it might be a reason to consider getting one... (probably not until the eventual price drop though )
I'm interested in the Revolution as well, mainly because of the speculation surrounding it though (it was at least confirmed now that it'll be still using controllers, despite heavy opposition to that idea in rumors ) |

I'm not really looking forward to any of the consoles. In my opinion, the companies should've stuck with the Gamecube, PS2, and the Xbox for a few more years, and instead, focus on making more games for it.
By the way, I don't remember anything about the Revolution being announced for presentation at E3 '05. >_>
Also, the 360 logo is a ripoff of the Dreamcast's. for Microsoft. |

It was mentioned many times in issues of E.G.M. I'm sure other gaming magazines may have it too.
And yeah, while the new consoles seem interesting, they definately rushed it, ESPECIALLY the X-Brick 360, which is supposed to come out this year. Of course, the new wireless and online features partially compensate for this...but still....
Last time I checked, X-Brick 360 will not feature backwards compatability with the old X-Brick unlike the other two. Anyone wanna confirm????
Oh yeah, and I personally like the silver scheme for the 360. It's much nicer than the black one. Even though I wear black and like black, I find that using black on everything gets rather lame, repetitice, unoriginal, and it's starting to become a cheap way to gather fans, mainly the ones who "omgz, teh consoel louks so sexah!!! I want!!!".... _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

This is false. The XBox 360 will have backwards compatability with XBox games. |

I'll probally want and get the revolution. Nintendo has the games I like on there, so I like nintendo and will get most systems from them. Simple as that. (I would get a PS2 but I'm fine right now with my cube.) |

If Xbox 360 is all about the graphics, then I believe the console will die. Apart from the racing games, the graphics look at most as good as this-gen Xbox. If that's the best it has to offer, being all-about-the-graphics won't work this time.
I hope Revolution can pull Nintendo out of this slump and I hope PS3 is cool =P. _________________

I NEED STREET RACING GAMES!!
meh... only will happen on the PS3 most likely...
But still ... as a Nintendo and "new" PS2 fanboy, I will want to get the Revolution... and the PS3...
Man I wish I had a press pass or worked for a video game company...
::puts on IONSTORM shirt:: (<--- I'll give a cookie to anymore that can figure out where I got this from...)
At least they won't delay the New Zelda game just for it... hopefully... but if they did... ZOMG the graphics will be even more awesome than what I've seen... ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG (Thanks person that started the topic about the orgin of PWNed...)!!
PS3... Let's just hope they have more Characters that are seriously famous...
Nintendo is popular for the characters, and hated for the Kid-like nature of it...
Ps3 will hopefully have either some awesome racing games... (PLEASE let there be another Midnight Club... with less rap...) or... ummm... wow my parents not letting me buy any of the three consoles of this Gen has really lowered my knowledge of Gaming... I need to get a job... _________________

The Xbox360 will have capabilities far beyond those of the Revolution, and the PS3 will have more graphical and processing power than both put together. (The PS3's processor is aprox. 3 times faster than the one on the 360.)
Horokoro: That is not true. It has not been confirmed. It is rumored to be false, since Xbox games were made with nVIDIA graphics chips and the 360 runs on a different system altogether, made my nVIDIA's main rival, ATI. Only time will tell.
Valtz: Please use proper english, as it was hard to understand your post. And that generalization you made abount Nintendo and Sony is false. Is Sony only good with platform games, compared to Nintendo who you said is only good at handheld games? I think you should do some research. Compare the sales of the PSP to the sales of the DS. Compare the number of games on the DS to the number of games on the PSP. No questions there. The PSP is a Sony product, and it's technaically a Playstation. Only good at platform games, eh? _________________

"The Xbox360 will have capabilities far beyond those of the Revolution, and the PS3 will have more graphical and processing power than both put together."
The Rev's specs weren't revealed yet, so you can't make that claim.
I'm going for the Rev because the majority of games that interest me come out on Nintendo systems. _________________ Red Green's words of wisdom:

How hard is it to c/p my name?
New videos show Halo 2 being run on an XBox 360. Backwards compatablity is about 70% sure (Once I get a link for that website again, I will post) There was also talk about backwards compatiblity on the video at Gamespot.
Saying that it wont happen at all is completely absurd. |

Gates changed the xbox life span from 5 years to 3 huh? That's stupid. You need five years to make enough games and figure out how to improve on the next console. But I never did like the xbox so it's his problem not mine. |

That's not really stupid, more like ingenious.
If he makes a new system in 3 years instead of 5, then they can get ahead of the other companies before their systems are released, therefore getting more of the profits. |
